𝑭𝑬𝑨𝑹 𝑰𝑺 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑴𝑶𝑺𝑻 𝑮𝑬𝑵𝑬𝑹𝑨𝑳 𝑻𝑬𝑹𝑴 𝑨𝑵𝑫 implies anxiety and usually loss of courage. I loved seeing people fear me. Especially Jim fucking Andres. He was sitting tied on a chair pretty beaten if you ask me. I did a good job on him.

''Who sent you here?'' I asked playing with a baseball bat. I haven't used it to hit him.. yet. I might start using it though if he keeps his mouth shut and doesn't spit what I want to find out.

''No one.'' He coughed causing me to roll my eyes. ''He's not going to talk.'' Leonardo said causing me to chuckle sarcastically and nod. ''He won't?'' I smirked and walked towards Jim that swallowed looking down. The fucker couldn't even keep eye contact with me. I'm pretty sure he was ready to pee his pants. 

''If you tell me now I might let you go. I will let you live pal. La tua scelta. Vuoi vivere o morire?''

Your choice. You want to live or die?

He finally looked up at me and nodded. ''Okay I will tell you.'' He said causing me to smile. ''Good guy yourself.'' I said patting his shoulder. ''So tell me who sent you here in my neighborhood, on Sin City to sell drugs?'' I asked throwing the bat towards Alexander that caught it and looked at Jim.

''Apolo Sànchez.'' He said looking at me. ''He paid me.. he said if I completed the mission he would give me a lot of money. I would be able to move away from here and get away from this shitty life but-''

''-you got caught.'' Zain interrupted him. Jim nodded and looked away. ''You're a fucking cunt man.'' Zain added and I just grabbed my gun and shoot Jim right between his eyes causing him to fall on the ground. ''You promised to leave him.'' Samuele said then started laughing causing me to laugh. ''They fall every time.'' Vince said. ''What are we gonna do with Apolo?'' I asked while Jason and the rest walked in to clean the mess.

''Why would Apolo let this pussy get caught? It doesn't make sense. It feels as if he wanted Jim to get caught. Isn't that weird?'' Zain explained while looking at us. ''Doesn't make sense you're right.'' Alexander muttered. 

The door opened and Ricardo De Luca, the leader of Cosa Nostra, walked in looking at us. ''Again Nico?'' He said and shook his head causing me to chuckle. ''I can't help it.'' I said putting my hands up. Ricardo chuckled softly shaking his head while walking our way.

"Did you find anything worthy?" He asked and I licked my lips looking over at Zain signaling him to say his thoughts on Jim. Zain looked away ignoring me. Such a child. In our kind of life a relationship between a father and a son is not a normal relationship. 

"Zain thinks Apollo did all this on purpose. Jim told us Apollo send him here but this might have been a set up. I mean Apollo did this on purpose and wanted us to catch Jim." I explained causing Ricardo to raise an eyebrow and turn towards Zain.

"Makes sense." He finally said and Zain smiled softly nodding.

Zain was our genius. He would deactivate bombs. He was a computer genius and he has gotten us out of bad situations plenty times. Yet he didn't get the full approval of Ricardo De Luca. 

"Let's get going now your mother is waiting us all for dinner." Ricardo said and I grabbed my watch putting it on. "I kind of have places to be so good unfortunately I won't make it at the family dinner." Zain said grabbing his jacket.

"Zain don't start." Dad said making Leonardo chuckle. "The way you're scared of Cecilia De Luca is funny knowing you're the biggest mafia leader to exist." Alexander said. "Says you. You're all whipped. Now start walking." Ricardo said causing us to laugh as we made our way out of the old factory.

Ricardo has worked for everything he has now. Sure our great grandfather is also someone to thank for everything we have but Ricardo has worked extra. He has become one of the best leaders of Sin City. Now that's huge. The first best leader was his father. Nicola De Luca the first. 

Usually the next leader is the eldest son but that's not what's going to happen with us. From day one my brothers and I know very well that I was going to be the next leader.

Alexander is the oldest of us all. He sure is powerful. People fear him but as he says he's not the leader type. Even though he acts like one most of the times. Just because he's the oldest. Ricardo says he's not his first choice. 

Next in line is Leonardo. The thing is Leonardo knows that he can't be the next leader. Why? Simple. Because he doesn't want to deal with so much responsibility. He likes focusing on his family too. As much as he can since being in this lifestyle ain't easy. Having a family, fearing for their safety every second, every day is not easy.

Then we have Vincent. I could see Vincent as a leader to be honest. But Ricardo says he's not the right one for that either. 

Samuele was also not the right as Ricardo says. Sometimes Samuele puts his emotions to work and not his mind. That's usually a problem when dealing with a fucking mafia lifestyle.

Rule number one: never let them see through you.

Then we have Zain. Not gonna lie Zain would be a perfect leader if he wasn't that immature. As smart as he is sometimes his immaturity wins. He likes partying. He likes spending money around. He's just like a teenager. But he's the most loyal friend. He's not just my brother. He's my best friend.

And we've come to the leader. I'm the sixth son of Cecilia and Ricardo De Luca. Maybe me being focused on my work has made Ricardo believe I'm the next leader. Or like he says I remind him of himself. I loved power. I wanted to have the upper hand always. And I always did.

At work yes. With women yes.

Then we have Xavier. He's still in college and mum insisted that the two youngest De Luca boys stay out of this business. They should be studying and staying away from danger. Ricardo could not fight her on that. So he allowed his youngest sons to just stay out and in college. 

River is the youngest of us all. He's the eighth son of Cecilia and Ricardo. Ricardo said he always wanted a big family. And he succeeded in that. He has eight sons. All alive.

Maybe that's why rivals are after us all the time. They know that nine men coming from the same family is too dangerous. And as much as we had people we worked with and were 'fond' of us we had more of them who weren't that 'fond' of us. At all.

I made my way towards my car and Zain sighed getting in as well. "I thought you had plans." I chuckled while started driving. "Fuck it. She canceled. Can you believe that? Who cancels Zain De Luca?" He scoffs and I smirked. If you ever wondered who the biggest fuckboy was in town it was Zein De Luca. And he was proud of that. 

"Well someone just did." I said causing him to roll his eyes. "You coming home?" He suddenly asked putting his phone away. "Obviously dude. I'm driving home." I said grabbing a cigarette from my pack and lighting it.

I turned the radio on and let the music fill the car. My Way by Frank Sinatra played. "Pass me one." Zain said and I handed him the pack of cigarettes.

Even though we weren't that normal of a family, family dinners were really important, especially for my mum. She wanted us all to be home for dinner. I mean you never know when you die in this lifestyle right? Might as well have a last family dinner to remember. 

What I found annoying and ironic was when we would attend church. Every Sunday. Mom says the least we could do is just attend church. Kind of ironic asking God for forgiveness when we killed people for a living. Not.

I pulled over and got out of the car with Zain following. Just then Samuele and Vince pulled over getting out of the car. ''I'm never ever getting in the same car as you. You are the worst fucking driver dude.'' Sam said pointing at Vince. I chuckled and rested my arm on Zain's shoulder watching Vince and Sam fight.

''I bet Sam is going to win.'' I said. ''I bet Vince is going to win.'' Zain said causing me to chuckle. ''How much?'' I asked. ''10 grand.'' He smirked. ''Big deal you doing there fratello.'' I said as we shook our hands. ''Not again.'' Leo said as he got out of his car. ''Sam is winning.'' Alex smirked when he got out and I nodded. ''If I take my gun out right now and shoot you, you're gonna fucking scream like a bitch.'' Vince gritted his teeth and I chuckled. 

''Do it. We gon see then who mamma will shoot.'' Sam smirked and I laughed. Vince didn't say anything else back. ''My money.'' I looked over at Zain. ''You think I just keep 10 grand in my fucking pockets you stronzo?'' He scoffed. 

''I'll wait.'' I said and  walked towards the front door pressing the doorbell. After a few seconds the door opened revealing mum.

''About time. I got worried.'' She said pulling me in a hug. I hugged her back then pulled away. ''We had work.'' I said and walked in the house. ''Finally we're starving.'' Hero said and I chuckled. ''Then eat kid.'' I said. ''You know how grandma won't allow us eat if you're not in the table.'' He said and I chuckled shaking my head. 

I walked upstairs and washed my hands then changed before walking back downstairs. I took a seat and we all started eating.

Everyone was lost in their own little conversations. I just ate in silence not really in mood to talk with anyone. 

After dinner I got up and was about to walk off when Alexander stopped me. "Nico? Jason wants to talk to you. He's waiting outside." He muttered and I raised an eyebrow but nodded. "I'll go see what's up." I said before walking outside.

Jason was at the front door. I mean he was one of the security guys. I've known Jason since he was a kid. He's not just a guy that works for us he's my brother. He would do anything for our family and I would do anything for him. Like the rest of the guys that worked here.

"What's wrong Jase?" I asked closing the door behind. "Bro I found where Apollo and his men are." He said. "I'm not surprised. You're good." I said causing him to chuckle. "Okay listen you'll have to watch him tomorrow. Like follow his every move. But be careful please okay?" I said placing my hand on his shoulder.

He smiled softly and nodded. "Of course bro. Don't worry." He said. "Good. Wanna come in?" I asked. "No thanks. It's my turn to stand at the gate tonight with Achilles." He said and I nodded. "Okay. Be careful." I said and walked back inside to grab my jacket and car keys.

"Where are you going at this time?" Mom asked as I put my jacket on. "I'm not a kid mum. I'm a grown ass man. I can protect myself." I said and grabbed my phone. "And I can go out if I want to." I added causing her to sigh. "Buona Notte." I said before walking out of the house.

I got in my car and drove away after Jason opened the gate. I drove towards the main club we owned. It was around twenty minutes away from our house. When I finally arrived I got out of the car and made my way towards the club.

"Mr De Luca welcome." The security said causing me to nod and walk in. I walked upstairs in my office and ordered a drink. I took my jacket off and placed it on the couch that was in the office.

I looked through the crowd of people that were dancing. The office was all made of glass so I could see everyone and everything from here. I could keep an eye on everything that was happening. 

There was a knock on the door so I just let whoever it was in. "I got your drink." Renata said handing me the drink. I turned at her and grabbed the drink from her taking a sip. "You look tired." She said wrapping her arms around my neck.

She started kissing my neck causing me to pull away. I hated when people touched me. I don't know why I got disgusted by a simple touch. "Renata we've said this before. No touching." I mumbled walking away taking a seat on the couch.

"Ohh." Was all she said before chuckling. Renata was not my type. I mean yeah she liked fucking around and I did too but I didn't like fucking around with the same person. And just because we fucked once she thinks we're gonna be a thing.

I'm never going to settle down with a woman. If I was ever getting married so I could take over my father's place it would be to an Italian girl that would be chosen from my parents. With a powerful name of her own. 

"Why are you here again?" I asked. "I thought I should come see you." She chuckled. "Renata stop acting as if we're a thing. It was one time okay? It's not gonna happen again. So please you're dismissed." I said causing her to clench her jaw.

"Hmm you want me to go so you can call a new whore for the night?" She hissed. "It's none of your business now leave. Don't make me call security." I said and she nodded. She walked out of the office slamming the door causing me to roll my eyes. 

I gulped down the drink and grabbed a cigarette. I light it up and started smoking as I stood up and once again looked through the crowd of young people that were dancing like crazy wild animals.

I rubbed my eyes and groaned. Fuck how much did I drink last night? I sat up and rubbed my eyes. The sun was blinding me right now. I run a hand through my messy hair before getting off the bed walking straight to the bathroom.

I took a twenty minute shower, always, then wrapped a towel around my waist and walked back in the room of my penthouse and straight in the closet. I got dressed in black dress pants, white dress shirt and a black jacket. I left the shirt a little unbuttoned. I put my watch on and fixed my hair. I then grabbed my phone calling Jason while walking out of the hotel room.

''Hey Jase how is it going?'' I asked walking in the elevator.

''We're still following keeping them close. Don't worry I'll call you.'' He said. ''Okay be careful kid.'' I said and ended the call as the elevator doors opened.

''Have a nice day Mr De Luca.'' The guy at the door said and I nodded my head as I walked outside. ''Good morning sir how was your night? Wait I don't wanna know.'' Zain said causing me to chuckle.

''I think we have to go. Jason will send us the location where we can hit Apollo.'' I said and was about to get in my car but stopped and turned to see three cars driving by.

''Shit.'' I cursed but couldn't take my gun out cause they were people around. I heard gunshots and winced. I don't know how many bullets hit my body. 

When I looked down I saw blood dripping and fell on the ground in pain.

''NICO!''

''Hey hey look at me. Hold on okay? Stay with me.'' I heard an unfamiliar voice and looked in the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. The most beautiful blue ocean eyes. 

But I couldn't help it. I closed my eyes her ocean eyes being the last thing I saw before darkness welcomed me.
