❝𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐃𝐀?❞ Fiona questioned. Tony, a police officer who also happened to be friends with both the Gallaghers and Parkers, nodded, confirming the information he had just told the Gallagher gang.

"You're telling us that Frank's in Canada? The same Frank who goes on rants about how terrible Canada is?" Adelaide scoffed, not being able to believe that he was really visting their friends up north.

"Trust me, Frank's in Canada." Tony replied with a straight face, staring right at the Parker girl.

"What about-"

"We've had no luck with Lenora. She's gone AWOL, sorry, Adie." Tony said in a quiet voice. Adelaide nodded and then dropped her head, sighing as she did so. Lenora really did leave them.

"Don't worry, Adie, we're here to help out." Lip stated, placing his hand on her shoulder. She smiled at him and looked back at Tony, who was now covering his ears as Kev and V talked quietly behind his back.

Adelaide quickly turned her attention to Fiona and Steve, who were talking in the kitchen. She stood up and leaned against the doorway, listening to the two adults. "How'd you get my dad to Canada?" Fiona questioned.

"Me? Are you kidding?" Steve replied, trying to play the innocent card. Fiona tossed Steve the cigarette pack that she had in her hands, "Canadian health warnings."

Steve paused for a moment, "I, uh, smuggled him over the border in the trunk of my car." He explained poorly. "How'd you get him in the trunk?" Fiona asked, her arms now crossed.

"He was so plastered, he would've jumped into a coffin."

"And, why Canada?"

"I had to run a car to Detroit," he began, avoiding eye contact with his girlfriend and the younger brunette who was silently judging him. "Plan was to dump him someplace weird in Michigan. Flint maybe."

"When I saw the signs for Toronto, the idea kind of just," He paused, "Snowballed." He grinned as if he didn't cause a massive problem for the family, like he thought it was all just some funny joke.

Fiona stepped towards him, "And you think its funny?" Her tone was laced in anger. "Funny would've been Newfoundland." He joked, not being able to sense the severity of the situation.

"Because he took a swing at you?"

"No, because he's got a family that he doesn't give a shit about." He whisper-shouted. "Smashing Ian in the face?" Fiona's face softened and Adelaide silently scoffed, knowing exactly what Steve had gotten himself into.

Adelaide watched as Fiona balled her fist and swung at him, hard. "What my dad is, what my family is, has fuck-all to do with you." She explained, her voice lowering, trying to keep some attention still on the cop in the living room, despite the fact that everyone heard and saw the punch.

Steve looked down at his hand, which had blood from his mouth on it, and then back to Fiona. "You left him there. You get him back." She stated, before walking back to the living you.

"You just dug yourself a hole, Steve-o." Adelaide grinned at the older man. "A hole that i'm not entirely sure you can dig yourself out of." She shook her head at him before turning back into the living room.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 πŒπ”π‹π“πˆπ“π”πƒπ„ πŽπ… people stepped out of the Gallagher home and onto the front porch. Adelaide had firmly believed that if anyone else stepped onto that porch, it would give in. "What the fuck is that?" Kev questioned, looking at the rickety looking RV that was parked in front of the house

"Our ride." Steve said confidently.

Adelaide stayed on the porch as mostly everyone else examined the shit-box on the road. "Think I can convince Steve to let me go with?" Lip whispered into the brunettes ear. She shook her head and chuckled, "You would have to convince Fiona first."

Adelaide looked back from her friend and to the RV, where she overheard Kev and Allen having a small conversation. "This is cool." Her younger brother admired, squeezing past Kevin.

Kev placed his hand on Allens shoulder and gently turned the boy to look at him. "Nah, Al, Uncle Kev is cool. This thing is garbage. It's shit." He stated. Allen giggled and went to the door, jumping up and down to get his sisters attention, even though it was already on him.

"Hey, Birdie! This thing is shit!" He yelled, causing everyone to laugh. Hearing Adelaide swear was rare, sure, but hearing Allen swear was another thing. Even though Adie had told him he's allowed to start swearing at twelve, he preferred to take after his sister and only swear when necessary.

Adie smiled at her brother, who was still jumping in place, before her attention was turned to her cellphone vibrating in her pocket. She pulled it out of her pocket and read the number, which was unknown to her.

She debated whether not she should answer it, considering it could be spam and she could waste her time, or it could be her mom, calling to say she's coming home.

She decided that the possible call from her mom was a good enough reason to answer, so she did exactly that. "Hello?" She spoke as she placed the phone to her ear.

The voice on the other end didn't belong to her mother. It didn't belong to a female. "Hi, is this Adelaide Parker?" The male voice asked. Adelaide paused for a moment, trying to think of who the semi-familiar voice could belong to.

"Uh, yes, it is. Who is this?" She asked, turning her back towards everyone else. The person on the other end was silent for a moment.

"I'm, well, it's hard to say." He spoke quietly. Adelaide kept on trying to pinpoint where she had heard this voice before, until she finally got it. The nervousness to explain who he was gave it away to her.

"Dad?" She questioned. She heard a chuckle on the other end, "If you can even call me that." The man, who she had identified as her father, Benjamin Leblanc, spoke.

Lip, who was still on the porch, had heard her say 'dad' and turned his attention to his friend, trying to heard the person the other end. "How'd you get my number?" Adie asked, considering when he had left the family, the only number he had been given was Lenora's, and her number was changed multiple times since.

"Your mother stopped in and gave it to me. Told me to call every once in a while to check in, make sure you and your brother are alright." He explained. Adelaide nodded and turned her heard to look at her brother, who was now on Kev's shoulders as Kev was running around in circles.

"When did you talk to her?" She asked, that question being the first to pop into her head. "This morning, I was just too busy to call before now." He answered.

"Did she say where she was going?" She asked, trying to hammer out all of the questions of her mothers whereabouts. Her dad answered a simple 'no' and moved on from that specific question.

"Why is she out here while you and Al are still in Chicago?" He asked. She sighed and explained the situation. She told him about Lenora leaving, and the note, and how her and Allen are taking it.

"I thought something was different about her when I saw her. Y'know, other than the fact that I haven't seen her for years." He sighed. Adelaide ran her hand through her hair, trying to think of another thing to say.

"Can I talk to Allen?"

Adelaide brought her eyes back to her brother and Kev, who were now chasing each other down the street. "He's playing right now." She replied, keeping her eyes on her brother. Benjamin chuckled, "He made friends down there! I'm glad."

Adie smiled and laughed, "He's actually playing tag with one of my neighbours. His name's Kev, he's like an uncle to Al." Benjamin hummed in response.

"It's good that he has someone like that, y'know since your actual uncle is batshit crazy. I'm sure Kev is a great guy." Adelaide laughed and nodded, despite her father not being able to see her.

Adelaide then sat down on the top stair and looked about at her surroundings, Kev and Al playing tag, V and Steve talking about the shitbox RV, Fiona leaning against the fence smoking a cigarette, and Ian and Lip wrestling in the yard. "Okay, well, I have to get back to work. I may call sometime soon, bye Adelaide." Benjamin spoke. She muttered a quick 'goodbye' before he hung up.

She slip her phone back in her pocket and grinned at her neighbors and friends. "Adie, help! Uncle Kev's gonna get me!" Allen yelled, running up the steps and ducking behind his sister as Kevin ran to the bottom step and stopped.

"Woah, slow down Kev. This is a no Kevin zone, gotta let Al off the hook." She spoke, clicking her tongue after she finished speaking. Kevin sighed and shook his head, "Just this once Allen. Just this once." He joked as Allen peaked up from behind Adies back.

Kevin grinned at the boy before turning around and walking into the RV with the rest of the adult's who were taking to trip to see their friends up north. Allen giggled behind Adelaide and stood up, aggressively waving to the people in the RV, specifically Kev. "Bye, Albert!" Kev called out from inside. Albert, the unfortunate nickname that had been given to the Parker boy by Kevin, who thought it was hilarious to poke fun at the boy.

Adelaide wasn't lying when she told her father that Kevin was like an uncle to Allen. Al even called him uncle Kev. The two got along the same way that family does. The same way an uncle would actually treat his nephew. And even though there was no blood relation, Kev was family. So was Veronica, and each and every one of the Gallaghers. Even Frank, despite him not liking the Parkers one bit.

"It's Allen!" The boy called out as the RV left. Adelaide chuckled and looked back to her brother. "Hey, Al, why don't you go wrestle Ian? I think he deserves another butt-kicking." Lip joked, pointing to Ian, who was now just lying on the ground, panting. Allen didn't miss a beat with jumping down the porch stairs and then flopping onto Ian's stomach.

Lip took a seat next to Adelaide and looked over to her, concern coating his features. Adelaide took her eyes off her brother and Ian to look at Lip, "What?" She questioned. "Your dad called you?" He asked.

She sighed and dropped her head, before bringing it back up and looking back at her friend. "Yeah. Uh, Lenora gave him my number." Lip moved closer to the brunette and wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"She's not coming back, Lip."

this is my formal announcement to say that lenora parker is genuinely not coming back ! she's only really gonna be mentioned from here on out, but thats for the better, cause she sucks.

so, i decided that a little sub-plot of kev being extremely close with allen and adelaide would be cute, and i was right.

id also like to mention that allen has some developmental problems, which is why he acts much younger than he actually is. im not sure if ive ever actually explained this, but now i have !

btw the next chapter is gonna show the cute little sub-plot i talked about in the last two authors notes ! (spoiler alert, it involves a puppy)

anyway, i hope you all enjoyed this <3
