contrasting with the rich, utopian world of the topside's city of Piltover. a city of innovation, creativity, the "city of progress."

two stark worlds divided only by a bridge and a crumbling government rule while tensions rise higher by the minute.

overlords ruling Zaun have created a weapon of destruction that could shake the very foundation of Piltover as we know it:

shimmer.

the desirable drug that, once injected into the body, amasses the user with increased strength and speed, heightening all senses. however, the user falls into the trap of the drug, and cravings are nearly fatal- as if their lives depended on it.

while bargaining and the use of shimmer becomes more well-known, Piltover has begun to control magical energy through technology. two young scientists have perfected this craft and have henceforth dubbed the use of this technology as Hextech.

while the country is teetering on the brink of civil war and overlords, corrupt governments, and rebel groups try to each take over with their own motives,
