━︎━︎━︎━︎"𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 hell are you?" were the first words that fell from Theodora's mouth. She crossed her arms casually over her chest, slowly cocking an eyebrow at him, not at all impressed with how he had just appeared on her doorstep and asking her to come with him. She didn't know who he was, but by the look on his face she had a deep gut feeling that he knew exactly who she was. And she couldn't help but let her wall build up the longer she stood there facing this stranger man that was casually carrying a quiver of arrows on his back.
"Clint Barton." He answered her casually. "Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and per request of my boss, I need you to come in. And I'm not allowed to leave until I get you to do so. So, to make my life easier, let's get going, yeah?" Clint stared at the dark haired woman, his thumb pointing towards the quinjet that was placed hidden within the woods. He watched Theodora with narrowed eyes before watching as the woman boredly took a sip of the second cup of coffee she had run inside to grab.
"Well, Clint Barton, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., you're going to be standing there for a very very long time because I plan on going back inside of my home, sitting down, and staring at the television until night time falls." Theodora took another sip of her coffee before sending him a sarcastic smile. "Nice to meet you, though." And then she turned on her heel and made her way back inside, not at all caring about the supposed agent that she had left standing on her doorstep.
She did just as she had told Clint. She cleaned her house for the day, washing dishes, fixing herself supper, before watching television and then going to bed a little after night had fallen. She slept peacefully in her bed, the thought that Clint wouldn't be there in the morning allowing her to fall asleep seemingly faster. The next morning she awoke, sleeping straight through her alarm much to her dismay. She carefully sat up, running her hand through her dark locks and wiping the heavy sleep from her eyes. She stood up, got dressed went to make her coffee and found herself freezing in her tracks.
The sound of knock falling on her door made the woman furrow her eyebrows for a few moments, looking over her shoulder towards the door as silence followed. She almost turned back towards her coffee, but stopped once again once another knock was hear. Pursing her lips she walked over towards the door and pulled it open, raising an eyebrow when she saw Clint still standing there. She leaned against the door frame, examining the man for a few moments before she found herself shaking her head in slight amusement. A laugh fell from her lips.
"You're really persistent, aren't you?" Theodora questioned him. He simply shrugged his shoulders and she hummed and nodded her head before closing the door in his face. She walked back over, pouring herself a cup of coffee before hesitating for a few seconds. Finally, a sigh fell from her lips and she reached up to grab another cup of coffee, pouring a second cup of coffee. She walked over, grabbing the bird sees before taking the two cups of coffee and making her way outside where Clint had been patiently waiting, almost as if he knew that she would bring him the cup of coffee.
"Here." Theodora held it out to him, and Clint looked at her for a few moments before taking it and offering her a small thanks, sipping on it and humming in satisfaction. He found himself watching her, watching as she sat down her cup of coffee before making her way over towards the pond in which the ducks that lived their showed up, quaking when they saw the bird seeds that were covering her hands. He watched her smile widely as the ducks ate from her hand, and once they were all fed she wiped the remaining seeds from her hands and stood up straight.
She turned on her heel, making her way back towards her porch and picking up her cup of coffee. She sat down on her porch steps, pressing the cup to her lips and allowing the warm liquid to run down her throat, making her close her eyes in satisfaction. She turned her head to look towards Clint, silently nodding for the man to come and sit beside of her. He did as she silently asked, making his way over towards her before sitting at the other end of the porch steps.
"So, why does your boss want you to bring me in?" Theodora hummed in curiosity. She knew that she shouldn't go, that she shouldn't be so kind to the man after knowing who it was that seemed to chase her down. But she couldn't help herself. Even though her powers made her seem like a monster, she couldn't help but allow the humanity inside of her to take over. The dark haired woman hadn't talked to anyone in what seemed like years, and this agent was her perfect opportunity to strike a conversation even if she didn't want one.
"He claims that you have some kind of power. Doesn't know what it is exactly, but he knows that it's unique and he would like to get to know more about you." Clint answered her truthfully. "We mean you no harm, Theodora. We just know that once we find out about people that have powers, HYDRA usually finds out next, and usually that person becomes their next victim, and we're simply trying to keep that from happening."
"HYDRA, the Nazi organization, right? Or. . . something like that?" Theodora questioned. Clint nodded. She hummed in amusement. "Clint, I'm not going anywhere with you. I've been through too much to know how this shit usually ends up. And it's either someone dead, or someone so close to crazy they have to be sent away."
"Fair enough." Clint nodded. "But if I'm being honest, between me and you, my boss scares me a little. And I can't come back empty handed or I will lose my head."
Theodora looked at him for a few moments before turning her head towards the sun that was still rising. "Keep talking. If you intrigue me enough, maybe I'll come with you." And that was all he needed to continue talking.
