Baymax and Hiro flew into the portal, entering the new area. It was clouded with hues of pink, purple, and blue fluffy-looking material.
"Careful! There's Krei Tech debris everywhere," Hiro warned as they ventured deeper into the strange dimension. Parts of the campus were floating around in the portal, and Baymax maneuvered around them, scanning them for Abigail as they passed.
"Look out!" Baymax flew too close to one of the fragments, and Hiro jumped off of him and sprinted down it. A moment later, he leapt back onto him, falling into his arms.
"I have located the patient," Baymax notified.
Hiro looked up and saw the pod floating in the distance. "Hurry!" He moved back into flight position, rocketing towards the vehicle. When they reached it, Baymax slowed to a stop. Hiro wiped the glass, peering inside to find Abigail in hypersleep.
"Come on, buddy, let's get her home," he said. He climbed onto the pod, Baymax circling to the back of it to push it.
"I'll guide you out of here, let's go!"
They shot back through the space, leading the pod to the surface. "Veer right!" Hiro directed. "Okay, to the left. Hard right! Up and over. Okay, level off." They dodged the scattered pieces of the building. "Easy," he reminded as they flew through a hole in a large window.
"Whoo-hoo! Nice flying!" They neared the exit of the portal. Hiro turned around to face Baymax. "Almost there!"
However, there was an immense part of the building quickly approaching the pod. Baymax reacted faster than Hiro could, positioning himself in the path of the rock. It smashed against him, shielding the pod and him.
"Baymax!" Hiro screamed, watching him slowly float away. The top half of his armor had broken off. He adjusted his camera lenses before looking at Hiro.
"Baymax!" He held out a hand, reaching towards him as far as he could. Baymax tried to turn on his rockets, but they merely sputtered defectively.
"My thrusters are inoperable," he informed Hiro.
"Just grab hold!" Hiro tried extending out further and he took his hand, able to reach at last. He pulled him to the pod, looking back at the exit anxiously.
"There is still a way I can't get you both to safety," Baymax mentioned, and Hiro looked back at him. He fixed his remaining armored fist into the pod, the rockets preparing. "I cannot deactivate until you say you are satisfied with your care."
"No, no, no, no. Wait. What about you?" Hiro worried, realizing what would result.
"You and (Y/N) are my patients," he responded.
"B-B-Baymax—"
"Your health is my only concern."
"Stop!" Hiro argued, tears welling in his eyes, "I'm gonna figure out—"
"Are you satisfied with your care?" Baymax urged.
"No. There's gotta be another way. I'm not gonna leave you here, I'll think of something!"
"There is no time. Are you satisfied with your care?"
"Please! No..." Hiro sobbed. "We can't lose you, too."
"Hiro, I will always be with you."
He stared at Baymax for a moment in disbelief. He was going to have to leave him here. He pulled him into a hug, letting the tears escape his eyes. When he let go, he mustered enough to choke out, "We are satisfied with our care."
Hiro adjusted his hold on the pod, and Baymax fired his rocket fist, launching it to the surface. Hiro could only stare painfully as his and your robot was left behind in the abyss.
The portal was almost at its maximum withstanding. It continued to vacuum the remains of the building, until, finally, it exploded. The site cleared of smoke, and you peered over the stone that everyone had hidden behind. You saw the pod crash-land in the debris with Hiro on top.
"Hiro!" you screamed, throwing off your helmet and clambering over the rocks. You ran into his arms. "I love you, too," you whispered into his shoulder.
"Hiro!" Wasabi called.
"Yeah! They made it!" Fred cheered. The team came over to you, but something didn't feel right...
"Baymax?" you questioned, looking up at him. His eyes met yours, and he shook his head slightly. You gasped, covering your mouth as tears brimmed in your eyes. You buried your head into his chest, his arms wrapping around you tighter. The team stayed silent.
He gave you one last squeeze before pulling away and turning to the pod. Before, you hadn't noticed Baymax's rocket fist attached to the back of it. Abigail laid inside, in an unconscious state that Baymax referred to as hypersleep.
The authorities were quick to arrive at the scene. They arrested Callaghan, and are bringing Abigail to the hospital.
"Miss, can you hear me? What is your name?" one of the nurses asked Abigail as she was carried on a stretcher.
"Abigail Callaghan," she replied weakly.
"Okay, Abigail, you are gonna be fine. We're taking you to the hospital."
A handcuffed Professor Callaghan was being pushed into a police car. He watched from the window as his daughter was brought into an ambulance.
You stood with the team on a rooftop, observing as the conflict faded away. Honey Lemon had previously returned your helmet to you, and you wiped a smudge of dirt from it as you watched. You turned away to exit the site, leaving with the rest of your friends.

Hiro trudged into his bedroom a bit later, still disappointed about Baymax. With nothing better to do, he plopped down at his desk and rummaged through the drawers.
Pushing past bolts and spare bot parts, he eventually stumbled upon an envelope. He took it out curiously, flipping it over and examining the exterior. He saw the SFIT logo and a small note.
You'll thank me later ;)
