The next day, you found yourself in Hiro and Tadashi's bedroom, sitting next to Hiro at his desk.

"Every year, the school has a student showcase," Tadashi explained, stapling a flyer onto the wall by the corners.

"You guys come up with something that blows Callaghan away, you're in," Kori added. "But, it's got to be great."

You shared a glance with Hiro. "Trust us."

"It will be."

"Ugh," you groaned, banging your head on the desktop with Hiro, "nothing."

"No ideas."

"Useless!"

"Empty!"

"Brain!"

"Wow," Kori said from across the room.

"Washed up at fourteen," Tadashi chuckled. "So sad."

"I've got nothing! We're done!"

"We're never getting in!" you complained.

"Hey," Kori said, "we're not giving up on you two." And with that, you were dragged into the air, draped over your older sister's shoulder. You weren't alone, either. Tadashi had grabbed Hiro's ankles and dangled him upside down, as well.

"What are you doing?!" you shrieked.

"Shake things up!" Kori encouraged.

"Use those big brains of yours to think your way out," Tadashi chimed in.

"What?" you and Hiro questioned.

"Look for a new angle," your siblings responded in unison.

"Ugh," you mumbled, relaxing in Kori's grip, loosely dangling. Then, your bots caught your attention. "Huh." You tilt your head slightly, adjusting your line of sight. Then, you and Hiro simultaneously grin at each other, the same idea in mind, and got to work in the garage.

You and Hiro peered inside one of twelve bins containing your project, smiling.

Fist-bump.

You walked alongside Hiro with the gang, rolling the containers through the building that the showcase is held in.

"Wow, a lot of sweet tech here today," Tadashi and Kori said, examining the surroundings. "How are you guys feeling?"

"You're talking to ex-bot fighters," Hiro reminded.

You nodded. "Takes a lot more than this to rattle us."

"Yep, they're nervous," GoGo said, obviously not convinced.

"Oh."

"Oh, you have nothing to fear, little fellows."

"They're so tense!" Honey Lemon commented.

"No, we're not," you assured.

"Relax, guys. Your tech is amazing! Tell them, GoGo."

"Stop whining, woman up."

"We're fine!" Hiro tried telling them once more.

"What do you need, little buds? Deodorant? Breath mint? Fresh pair of underpants?" Wasabi asked.

"Underpants?" GoGo reiterated. "You need serious help."

"Hey, I come prepared."

"I haven't done laundry in six months," Fred began. "One pair lasts me four days. I go front, I go back, I go inside-out. Then, I go front and back." Wasabi gagged.

"Wow. That is both disgusting and awesome," Tadashi commented.

"Don't encourage him," GoGo retorted.

"It's called 'recycling.'"

Suddenly, the announcer's voice was projected across the room. "Next presenters, Hiro Hamada and (Y/N) (L/N)."

"Oh yeah, this is it," Fred said excitedly.

"I guess we're up," Hiro told you. You smiled and nodded.

"Okay, photo, photo!" Honey Lemon gathered the gang. "Everybody say 'OTP'!"

You smiled for the camera along with the others despite the short notice. The phone clicked.

"Wait, 'OTP'?!" you realized, blushing immensely. Hiro's gaze drifted away from you; he was blushing, too. He rocked back and forth on his heels impatiently.

"We love you, guys. Good luck!"

"Don't mess it up."

"Break a leg."

"Science, yeah!"

"All right, guys. This is it," Tadashi and Kori declared. The two of you didn't respond. "What's going on?" they asked, slightly concerned.

"I really want to go here," you and Hiro said simultaneously.

"Hey," your siblings encouraged, "you got this."

You and Hiro walked onto the stage and into the spotlight.

"Uh, hi," Hiro began, "my name is Hiro Hamada."

"And I'm (Y/N) (L/N)," you introduced.

"And we've been working on something that we think is pretty cool."

"We hope you like it." You put on your transmitters.

Hiro reached into his sweatshirt pocket, taking out your invention.

"This is a microbot," you both exhibited. From the crowd, no one seemed to be intrigued. Hiro glanced at you with a look that said, "Help!" You took a deep breath and exhaled. From the crowd, your siblings also mouthed, "Breathe." Hiro took a deep breath.

"It doesn't look like much," he started. "But when it links up with the rest of its pals..."

The microbots flew out of the various containers, swerving through the crowd and onto the stage. That immediately caught the attention of many, including Alistair Krei. There were plenty of exclamations among the crowd.

"...Things get a little more interesting," you said with a grin.

Hiro let go of the microbot in his hand, letting it join the others in the prismatic structure they formed.

"The microbots are controlled with these neural transmitters," Hiro explained, pointing to the band around his head as you did the same. You then lifted them off, letting the bots fall to the ground. After putting them back on, they had reassembled.

"We can think what we want them to do—" You and Hiro each controlled your own half, creating two waving hands. "—and they do it." The robotic hands then high-fived.

"The applications for this tech are limitless," you continued.

"Construction. What used to take teams of people working by hand for months or years can now be accomplished by one person," Hiro added. You maneuvered the bots so that they assembled a small structure similar to a scale model of a building. While the construction took place, you both climbed the bots from behind to stand on the top of the building. "And that's just the beginning."

"How about transportation?" You stepped off of the structure, using the microbots to support and navigate the two of you around the stage area.

"Microbots can move anything anywhere, with ease," you explained.

"If you can think it, the microbots can do it."

"The only limit is your imagination." By then, you had both returned to the stage.

The bots fell to the ground for the finale, then reassembled to form a large-scale microbot.

"Microbots!" you presented. Praise and applause broke out from the audience.

You stepped in together, grabbed hands, and bowed along with the bots. You then rushed off the stage to meet the gang. You were first greeted by Tadashi and Kori.

"Nailed it!"

"You did it!

"Not bad."

"Yeah! You just blew my mind, dudes!"

Honey Lemon hugged you both. "They loved you. That was amazing!"

"Yes," someone agreed, and you shifted your attention. "With some development, your tech could be revolutionary."

You and Hiro shared a quick glance in awe. "Alistair Krei!"

"May I?" he asked, holding out a hand. Hiro placed the small bot in it for him to observe. "Hmm. Extraordinary. I want your microbots at Krei Tech."

The two of you stared for a second in disbelief. You covered your mouth with your hands, wide-eyed.

"Shut. Up," said Hiro.

"Mr. Krei is right." Callaghan suddenly approached from behind. "Your microbots are an inspired piece of tech. You can continue to develop them, or you can sell them to a man who's only guided by his own self-interest," he spat, growing bitter by the end of his statement.

"Robert, I know how you feel about me, but it shouldn't affect—"

"This is your decision, (Y/N) and Hiro, but you should know that Mr. Krei has cut corners and ignored sound science to get where he is."

"That's just not true," Krei argued, although he was more composed than Callaghan.

"I wouldn't trust Krei Tech with your microbots, or anything else," Callaghan said, glowering at Krei.

"Hiro, (Y/N), I'm offering you more money than any fourteen-year-old could imagine."

You looked over at Hiro nervously and nodded, closing your eyes for a short time.

"We appreciate the offer, Mr. Krei," Hiro started.

"But they're not for sale," you said.

"I thought you were smarter than that," Krei chuckled lightly, "Robert." He flicked his suit cuff with a final scowl at his rival and began to walk off.

"Mr. Krei," Kori began. He turned around.

"That's our siblings'," Tadashi reminded, pointing to the microbot.

"Oh, that's right," he said, tossing it back to the group. Hiro caught it, and Krei continued walking.

Alternatively, Callaghan approached you and Hiro. "I look forward to seeing you both in class," he said, handing each of you a letter. You looked at them and then each other, smiling elatedly.

You received more congratulation from the gang as you were leaving the building.

"Alright geniuses, let's feed those hungry brains. Back to the café. Dinner is on me!" Cass exclaimed, pointing to herself.

"Yes! Nothing is better than free food!" Fred said, walking away with the gang. "Unless it's moldy!"

"Aunt Cass?" you heard Tadashi say. "We'll, uh, we'll catch up, okay?"

"Sure. Oh, I'm so proud of you!" Cass enveloped you in a tight hug, squishing you and Hiro together. He gave a weak smile, blushing, and you returned it. "All of you!" she said, including Kori and Tadashi, too. You thanked Cass and then she returned to the rest of the gang.
