"Lex, you missed it! It was so badass!" Hawk ranted on as Alexa walked into practice. "We were all running on stage and yelling, Miyagi-Do looked like a bunch of pussies. I can't believe you weren't there."
"I'll take your word for it." she hummed, patting his back.
"You gotta understand that Mogadishu in the '90s was a hellhole." They walked into a conversation with Aisha and Sensei Kreese. "Warlords controlled whole swaths of the city. My team and I were charging with cleaning the place up."
"How many warlords did you kill?" Hawk nodded in his direction.
Kreese shrugged. "You keep track of every ant you stomp on?"
"Damn!" Alexa yelled out, louder then intended.
"Badass." Hawk agreed with a grin.
"They were outgunned, we were outmanned. I tell you...Rwanda was no joke." Kreese went on with this war stories to the curious trio.
"Don't you mean Somalia?" Miguel spoke up, getting to his feet. "Mogadishu is in Somalia, Rwanda's a whole different country."
Kreese eyed him a moment. "Of course, Somalia. I've spent so much time in the sandbox, it all kind of bleeds together, you know?"
"Listen up!" Johnny called as he walked from his office. "I see we've got some new recruits. Everybody, fall in. In neat rows and lines."
"How many do you think are gonna throw up and cry?" Alexa joked with Miguel as they walked to their marks.
"Of, definitely most." he agreed with a grin her way.
"Time to see what you're made of." the blonde sensei eyed them.
He passed Alexa effortlessly, her face fell, thinking him seeing her would click to what he was suppose to do last night, stopping to the redhead in the back. "Straighten up, ginger twins."
She looked back to see him stopped before and older man . "Sorry, parents can't stay for class. It's an insurance thing."
"Oh, i'm not a dad. I-I am here to kick some ass, sir." the man announced.
Johnny had a quieter conversation, taking cash from his hand before walking forward. "I thought my last group of recruits was pathetic. But if you do what I tell you to do, you'll at least have a chance of becoming a fighter. But to do that, you gotta fight. So, which one of you has the balls to take on the champ?"
Silence passed, Miguel standing confidently before a feminine voice came from the back. "I'll take him on."
They all turned, looking toward a girl with dark roots but blonde the rest of the way. Alexa recognized her immediately, the smoothie place. Johnny looked at her, almost judging like. "Oh, you will, huh?"
She nodded, shifting on her feet. "I saw your little demo at Valley Fest. You guys can put on a show. Can you actually fight?"
Alexa grinned a little, watching closely. Johnny walked closer to her. "That sounds like a challenge."
"I like a challenge." she spoke back confidently.
Johnny cut in after staring at her a moment longer. "Mr.Diaz, show Little Miss Hotshot here what Cobra Kai is all about."
They all spread off the mat. Alexa shoved one of the new recruits out of the way, taking her place where he was. They watched as Miguel went to talk to the new girl before she kicked him harshly in the chest. Miguel laughed. "All right. Game on."
She swung at him again, having it blocked as Miguel ducked under her arm, dodging her fist and her foot. She went to kick him again, being cut off by his hands grasping her waist to push her down on the mat. He blocked all her punches once again, kicking her in the leg as it flew out from under her.
Her body flew forward, grasping his waist and taking him down to the mat.
Miguel flipped around, locking his legs around her legs to trip her, standing up. He held his hand out, she took it before swinging him over her shoulder. Alexa smiled. "Smoothie girls got game."
"Why'd you shove me away?" the guy from before asked Alexa with a glare. "I was standing there first."
She shrugged with a laugh. "Too bad."
"Wh-" he tried again, being taken off guard by Alexa shoving his face to the side of the mirror.
"What?" she asked with a hum. "What else is there to say?"
"Nothing." he winced, trying to get her to let go. "Nothing. Nothing."
"That's right." she let him go with a laugh. "Bitch."
There was a few decent recruits, most being pathetic, but Sensei Lawrence still had given them a chance. Alexa walked to her bag when class let out, hoisting it up onto her shoulder. Her phone ringing made her give a half grin as she saw Demetris name. She knew he'd remember last night and call to apologize. Answered it, she pulled the phone to her ear. "Withering in sadness and come to beg for my forgiveness, babe?"
"Lex!" he called from the other line. "That old guy is a psycho!"
"What are you talking about?" she gave an odd look.
"The old guy at your karate place." he repeated. "Hit me in the face. I've got stitches."
Alexa scoffed. "Is that seriously what you called to tell me?"
"Yes!" he called back. "I think you and Eli need to get out of there."
"It's a karate dojo, Demetri. You're gonna get hurt, you can't just sit on the side lines and expected everyone else to do it for you!" she snapped at him, feeling a lot more bitter now.
"I've got stitches!" he repeated, she could basically see the face he was pulling.
"Yeah?" she hummed. "You can take your stitches and lick my vagina!"
Hanging up the phone, Alexa gave a loud yell of anger. "Woah, i'm seeing every emotion on you lately."
She looked back at the smoothie girl. "Mind your own business."
"You're standing in the walk way, I am minding my own business." she defended herself back with just as much sass. "Move."
Alexa moved out of the way, eyeing her, looking for any sort of fight. "I hate your shoes."
"I hate your bag." she said back.
"I hate your eyebrows." she shot her.
"I hate your height." she mocked, Alexa gasped in disbelief. "Short people are weird."
"How's the weather up there?" Alexa mocked, walking closer.
"You'll have to talk a little louder. I can't hear you up here." she held a hand to her ear.
"God only lets things grow until they're perfect." she shrugged in response.
The girl went to open her mouth, frowning her eyebrows. "That's a good one."
"Right?" Alexa agreed with a grin. "I'm Alexa."
"Tory." she nodded her head. "So, I take it you and your boyfriend are still fighting?"
"Not enough orange smoothies in the world can fix that." she said back with an eye roll. "It's whatever."
"Well, my ugly shoes and I are gonna go get a drink at the corner store." Tory rose her eyebrows. "If you feel like coming along and talking shit on whoever this guy is?"
"I didn't say they were ugly, I just said I hated them." Alexa cracked a grin, following her.
"Oh, sorry, let me walk a little slower for you." she said back, getting a violent slap to the arm.
