WORKING AT THE MYSTIC GRILL was something Cecile thought could be a part of her day where she can hang out with friends while being paid decent money.
Customers would come in and out and a majority of times, they would be nice and friendly, however, there were some that were rude enough to ruin Cecile's day. And it's hard to get under Cecile Chevrolet's skin, so it came as a shock to most people.
However this night, Cecile had a later shift, and luckily, not many customers were coming in so that meant free time for her. Stefan and Damon told their niece to take her time to come home since they were having dinner with Elijah and Klaus to make some sort of agreement.
As she was thinking that the Grill was quiet, four older men who seemed to be in their late thirties marched in obnoxiously, making Cecile jump in her seat. Now, these were the customers that she knew could potentially ruin her night.
Putting on her fakest smile, Cecile went up to the booth and took out her notepad to take their orders.
"Hello, gentlemen, what can I get for you today?" The men looked up as their eyes scanned Cecile's body, unquestionably making her feel uncomfortable.
"Yeah, how about I can get a cheeseburger and a side of your number." The man winked and Cecile internally puked at him. Trying to keep her composure, she ignored the arrogant man as she wrote on her notepad.
"Anything else for you guys?" The other men gave her their order then simply stared at her even more. They simply nodded their head 'no', smirking creepily towards her.
"God, I hate men," Cecile whispered to herself, already having enough of those intolerable customers.
The bell to the door chimed, indicating a new customer was present. Cecile welcomed them, without lifting her head up.
"Hello, welcome to Mystic Grill, I'll be with you shortly."
"Oh, take your time, darling, I already know what I want to eat tonight." Cecile finally looked up at the customer, a little thrown off by his accent to reveal a devilishly handsome man around her age.
Slightly creeped out, Cecile diverted her eyes away as she kept her focus on the monitor of the cashier.
"Okay, now what can I get for you tonight, sir?"
"How about you? I'm Kol." Cecile's gaze pierced right through Kol, her glare intense, not even phased at his remark, considering she gets that comment every other day or so.
"Well, I'm not on the menu, so pick something that is." Honestly, Kol wanted to rip out her carotid artery right then and there, but he would rather play the cat and mouse chase instead.
After being released into the world a century later, Kol was still famished and wanted more fresh blood which is why he went to the Grill.
"Whatever you say, love. How bout a glass of your finest bourbon?" Cecile simply nodded her head, not wanting to make eye contact with the man.
Kol looked at her name tag and smiled brightly. "Your name is transcendent, Cecile."
For the first time in the night, a small tug on her lips crept on Cecile's face. She absolutely adored when people complimented her on her name. She has always been fond of her name.
"Thank you, Kol. So what brings you to the Grill so late at night?"
"Well, I was in a slumber that felt like a century really, and as I woke up, I felt like getting a snack." The smirk on Kol's face was evident that he meant grabbing a snack for blood and Cecile was going to be his choice for tonight, but there was a voice in the back of his head that kept pulling him away from feeding on her.
"Well, I'm glad you're here. It's better company than those guys back there." Cecile pointed to those obnoxious men in the corner booth. Kol turned his head and eyed them carefully, so he can have a little greeting with them later.
"I'm exhilarated that you enjoy my company. My siblings would usually consider me as annoying." Cecile saw the bitterness in his voice and she couldn't help but feel sympathy for him.
Giving him his glass of bourbon, Kol chucked it down swiftly, not even making a face at the strength of the alcohol.
"Hey, mamas, how about another round over here." Cecile cringed at the nickname 'mamas', bringing back dreadful memories from the past. Kol noticed her discomfort and it angered him to see her like this. Considering that she was about to be his diner, Kol would rather talk to her instead of eating her.
"Would you like me to handle that over there?" Kol pointed to the booth while already craving murder. "Nobody should ever treat a lady like that, especially you, love."
"Men, I swear... oh-no offense, Kol. You're one of the better ones."
"Well, that's reassuring. Perhaps we can see each other again?" Cecile smiled and nodded her head, making Kol smile.
Even though it was presumed that Kol was about to leave for the night, he stayed behind to make sure he was able to have a 'chat' with these men once they left.

Around an hour later, the obnoxious men left the Grill with the same loud tone they initially had.
"Well, you made my night better, darling. I best hope to see you again soon." Kol was about to get up from his seat, but a sudden surge of courage came out of Cecile.
"I'm going to this dance tomorrow, how about you can be my date?" Kol smirked then proceeded to walk in front of Cecile. He lifted up her hand as he gently placed a kiss on top of it.
"It would be my honor. Where is this dance going to take place?"
"Well, my uncles said it's hosted by these people, the Mikaelson's. I'm not too informed with the details, but I know it's at that new mansion on the other side of the city."
Suddenly, Kol's cheeky smile disappeared, finding out that Cecile must know about his brothers. Not wanting to open another can of worms, Kol simply bid the girl goodbye and proceeded to exit the Grill.
About to finish her last hour of the shift, Cecile was getting ready to clock out, but she noticed that Kol left his coat on the stool.
Imagining that Kol must not have gone too far, Cecile grabbed his coat and ran out the door, hoping she would find him.
When she turned right into the street, she saw Kol, his eyes red and veins surging on his face, with all of the men that were verbally harassing her, on the ground bled dry from their blood.
Cecile thought that she actually made a human friend and it made her upset, considering that a majority of people in her life are supernatural. She wanted a semi-normal life with a human friend.
The shock, pain, and sadness started to rush in her body. Her emotions were all over the place, finding out that her newest friend, is a vampire. She froze in place, a small gasp escaping her lips, but wistfully with Kol's vamp-hearing, his head immediately perked up, seeing Cecile standing in front of him, with his expensive jacket in her hands.
oops, cliffhanger hehehe. the next chapter will pick right off from this ending. by the way, if you guys weren't sure how to pronounce Cecile, you pronounce it like se-SEEL. anyways, please vote and comment. it would very much be appreciated. ๐๐
