THE WORDS THAT JUST CAME OUT OF KOL'S mouth made Cecile's mind spin. One second at the dance, he adored her, but now at this moment, he is saying how he doesn't want to be with the girl anymore.

"What did you just say?" Cecile heard clearly what Kol said. She didn't want to admit it, but for the first time in a long time, Kol actually made her happy again and now her feelings are about to be crushed once more.

"I put you in danger because of my family. It's because I care about you that I need to leave."

"Are you seriously pulling an Edward Cullen right now?'' Kol scrunched his eyebrows in confusion, not knowing who this 'Edward Cullen' was. His first thought was that he was a previous boyfriend of Cecile, but that was not his priority.

"Who?" Forgetting that Kol probably hasn't heard of Twilight, Cecile clarified for him.

"Twilight, it's a movie, but that's not the point. The point is that I finally found someone that I actually got close to and I never get close with anyone. Kol, please don't do this." He shook his head, not wanting to give in to Cecile's persuasion.

As a matter of fact, Kol never had any intention of leaving Cecile. If he had a choice, he would spend every minute of the day with her, but for her safely, Kol believed leaving Cecile was best to keep her alive.

"Wherever I go, danger follows and I can't live with myself if something ever happened to you because of me." His tone slightly scared Cecile as his voice started to raise at the end. The stubbornness in Cecile made her step closer to him and looked deep into his brown eyes.

"Both of my uncles are vampires, trust me, I know what danger can be like so don't bullshit me with your excuses. Stay.." the pair were still staring into the eyes of each other, not one of them letting one another out of their sight. "Please don't leave."

Kol was set on his decision. He was going to leave Mystic Falls to protect Cecile. For her own good. He turned around and was about to walk away from Cecile, but she spoke up one more.

"Kol if you leave right now, I swear I'm going to find you and drag your stubborn ass back to Mystic Falls. Remember this Kol Mikaelson, I am not leaving you no matter what." Stopping himself from walking any further, Kol got lost in his thoughts, not understanding how someone could care for him as much as he did for them. It was odd to him and frankly off-putting to Kol.

Not having any other choice, Kol turned around and flashed right in front of Cecile, ripping off the vervain necklace that was previously wrapped around her neck. His pupils dialed, forcing Cecile to stare into his eyes. "No, no, Kol-"

"You never met me. You have never met a Kol Mikaelson and you will forget every memory of me. Let go of any feelings you have for me and go on with your beautiful human life. Know this Cecile Chevrolet, you have made a person feel human again and I will never be able to repay you for your kindness, your beauty, and your laughter. Goodbye, my darling."

Within a blink of an eye, Cecile found herself alone, with her vervain necklace in her hand.

The next morning consisted of Cecile waking up bright and early with the sun radiating on her face. She sat up on her bed and slipped on her fuzzy bunny slippers. She started to walk down the stairs of her home, soon grabbing the attention of her uncles.

"Morning, vamps, what's for breakfast today?" Cecile pulled out the stool and sat across Damon while Stefan was at the dining table, reading the newspaper and drinking his coffee.

"Hash browns. Eat up human garbage disposal." Cecile rolled her eyes at the nickname, but it did describe her. Food was everything to Cecile and it made her happy.

"So where'd you go last night? Last we saw you were with Kol." Cecile tilted her head quizzically, wondering who Kol was. She doesn't remember meeting anyone with the name of Kol. All she remembered from last night was going to the decades dance with her friends and Esther took Elena.

"Who's Kol?" Damon gave her a 'seriously' look, not sure why Cecile would be playing jokes on them so early in the morning.

"Cici, seriously, you know exactly who Kol is."

"I'm serious, I have never heard that name in my life. I don't know why it seems like a big deal." The confusion in Cecile's face was evident that there was definitely something wrong with her. Stefan being the worried uncle he is, put a hand on her forehead, checking her temperature to see if she had a fever.

"She seems fine. No fever or anything. Damon, there has to be something wrong with her. There has to be." As much as the brothers didn't like the Original with their niece, they knew that if she couldn't remember him, then something was not right.

Cecile was wondering why her friends were treating her weirdly after yesterday. The name 'Kol' was consistently said throughout the day and it started to annoy her that she didn't know who this person was.

Currently sitting at a park, Cecile was sketching in her notebook, drawing the beautiful scenery in front of her and the birds that chirped above her head. Sensing a presence next to her, she sighed, not really wanting company.

"Why so glum, little one?"

"Go away, Klaus. I'm not in the mood for company, especially supernaturals." Klaus of course didn't listen and proceeded to take in the fresh air next to the girl.

"You know, I should probably tell my brother how you've been acting lately. He could come here himself." As Klaus was about to pull out his phone, Cecile interrupted him.

"Why would Elijah want to know my whereabouts?"

"I was talking about Kol," Klaus stated with a 'isn't it obvious' tone. Sick and tired of hearing that unknown name, Cecile got up from her seat and started to pack her belongings.

"God, can everyone please stop saying that name. I don't know why everyone is mentioning that name." Now it was Klaus's turn to be confused. With Kol leaving town so suddenly and Cecile forgetting her memories about him, he put two and two together to figure out that Kol wanted this intentionally.

As much as Klaus despised Kol at times, he knew that Cecile made him a better person. Klaus wanted his brother to be as happy as he was with Cecile. So he mentally noted himself that he would do anything to save Kol and Cecile's relationship.

No matter the costs.
