(A/N: Aaand we're back at Mira's point of view)
"I-"
I was interrupted due to a loud bang, making me jump slightly.
"OPEN THE DOOR Y'ALL! HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME OUT OF THIS IMPORTANT MOMENT?!" Yoona shouted, making us all chuckle slightly.
"Alright aLRIGhT I'M OPENING IT! STOP HITTING THE DOOR!" Jimin shook his head as he let Yoona in, who took turns to glare at all of us with puffed cheeks.
"In my defence," I began. "I had no idea this was happening," I said, gesturing to the awkward Taehyung on the floor and the background music which was suspiciously similar to Jazz.
They went all out.
"As I was going to say..." I began, clearing my throat as I tried not to laugh. "I would say yes even if you weren't doing this, you know?" I reminded him.
"It was Jimin's idea." He grumbled, getting off the floor as I chuckled.
"I guessed about that much," I said before turning to Y/N. "You did record this, right?"
"Yup!" She chirped. "It's tucked in nice and safe in my blackmail corner."
"Lovely." I grinned.
"And suddenly, I regret asking you out," Tae muttered to himself.
"Well since I didn't say yes yet-" I raised an eyebrow.
"-you should say it now...like right now; please? " He interrupted.
"Well since you said please..." I sighed out before smiling. "Yes!"
Everyone sighed out in relief and muttered 'finally' before going back to what they were doing.

"Alright. I vote Blond Tae." Yoongi said.
Taehyung lost a bet and we all decided that he would dye his hair. The colour we choose will determine his fate for who knows how many months.
"Let's be a bit unique..." Jimin grinned evilly. "How about dark green?"
Tae paled.
"Nah. Not on my watch." I waved him off before joining. "But I like the idea of being unique."
"Oh boy." Tae fanned himself as I played with his hair. "I'm going to die."
"Then how about orange?" Jungkook added, making us think.
"That's not that bad," I said, visualizing it as I let my fingers through Taehyung's hair. "Also, what conditioner do you use?"
"That's my secret." He grinned, making me huff.
"Anyway. Since we said unique..." I trailed off, wondering how it would look. "What about royal blue?"
"Royal blue..." We all thought about it, including Tae.
"Oh my God." I breathed out. "Royal blue Tae will be the death of us. We need it."
Everyone vigorously nodded in agreement.
"Well, it's something I never considered...but alright." Tae shrugged, lowkey excited.
"You never had a choice." Yoongi reminded him.
"Let me at least pretend that I did." He groaned.
"Nah." We all said in unison.
"I have such a wonderful girlfriend." He grumbled, making me laugh before placing a kiss on his forehead.
"You sure do," I said before pausing, remembering something.
Immediately, guilt flooded me and I cleared my throat.
"We all keep ruining our non-existent sleep cycles by staying up late at night since we can't hang out before. Tonight, I want to sleep early, so get out." I shooed everyone except Yoona away.
"Psh. I say bullshit. I bet she's going to watch some YouTube." Jungkook said, making everyone nod.
"And what are you gonna do about it?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Nothing at all." He raised his hands in surrender with a small smile as he walked out.
I smiled sadly, feeling guilt enter me as I looked at the retreating figure of Jungkook.
I'm so sorry Jungkook. I'm so sorry that it took me so long to realise why you're in pain.
And mostly...I'm sorry for being the main reason for it, yet I haven't done anything about it.
I can only hope that you move on from me. You deserve better.
Shaking these thoughts away, I heard the door close.
"I'm going to bed. You both talk." Yoona waved us off as I blinked.
You both?
"Who-"
"Hey," Tae said, making me jump slightly.
"How did I not notice you?!"
"You were too busy looking at Jungkook and zoning out." He sighed before smiling sadly. "You figured it out too, huh?" He said, coming closer to hold my hands.
"Yeah," I said, squeezing his hand a little before pausing. "Since when and how did you know?!" I exclaimed.
Damn. Just when I think I was smart, everyone around me already knows?
I already know that Y/N knows this. She cheers him up too, and I couldn't be more glad.
"It isn't that hard, especially after he kissed you that day. I've been paying more attention to him since I know he didn't completely say the truth that day." He explained as I listened.
"I've tried to exclude him from any plans relating to our love life since I know that it hurts him, but he just feels left out. When I don't exclude him, he feels hurt." He sighed, a tired look on his face.
Suddenly, Taehyung was someone who I related to on a spiritual level.
"I wish I could stop it since I feel like I failed as a friend. I feel so selfish. And yet...I can't give up on you." He said, his hand reaching out to softly caress my cheek. He looked at me with a fond gaze, making me feel warm and loved.
"Not this time, I can't." He whispered.
Taking his hand in mine, I placed a small kiss on his knuckles as I tried to ease the guilt for him.
"I can't give up on you either...this sucks." I groaned, making him crack a small smile.
"We'll figure it out though. We always do." I reassured him.
"We do, don't we? Except for that one time."
"I said it before and I'll say it again." I sighed, glaring at his smiling face. "Of course sleeping while he had 2 weeks work overdue and going to class empty-handed will not help."
"Yup. And Jungkook can say that with personal experience now." He chuckled.
"I know. We were right beside him, pretending to have not finished our assignments too."
There was a moment of silence as we both went down memory lane. Our friendship was sweet with its problems, but we always got through it.
That's just how we were. We couldn't give up on each other.
Never.
"I can feel it now," Tae said, smiling slightly. "We can get through this. Together."
"Yup." I nodded in agreement.
His hand trailed down and he held me by the waist, making me snake my arms around his neck.
"Can I?" He asked, his tone deep and soothing as he brushed his thumb over my lips. Feeling slight tingles all over my body, I nodded.
His eyes fluttered close with mine as we leaned closer and let our lips touch.
Our very first kiss.
His soft lips moved against mine at a calm pace, as we savoured the moment together.
There were no fireworks, no background music, no curtains closing.
For one sole reason.
This wasn't the end of our story, it was just the beginning.
Breaking the kiss, Tae hugged me tight, hoping to confirm that this was real and not his dream.
I hugged him back, making him let out a small sigh of relief.
"Jungkook was right about one thing though..." He said, not breaking the hug.
"Hm?"
"Your lips do taste like honey. I too suggest to keep using that lip scrub."
I let out a laugh, nodding as I felt pure happiness at the moment.
After that, we didn't talk. There was no awkward silence as we stayed still, just cherishing this moment.
"Thank you..." I muttered, breaking the silence.
"Thank you for loving me," I said, looking at him with a warm smile.
"I did for a long time, and will continue to do so." He smiled back before placing a small kiss on my forehead.
"Even if I annoy you?" I asked.
"Tell me. What's new?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I will yeet you out of this window," I said seriously.
"I won't fit though." He said, mocking me with the same words I used when I was high on sugar.
Or those weird brownies. I still don't know what made me that way.
"But yes. Even if you annoy me. Even if you keep staying up late at night. Even if you stop liking Panda Express."
"And that's when you know that Kim Taehyung seriously loves you."
"Indeed." He nodded sagely, not able to fight off the grin that made it to his face.
"And thank you, Mira." He said suddenly, a warm smile present on his face.
"Thank you, for breaking my curse of being a second lead." He said before bringing me closer to kiss me again.
You did the same to me, Taehyung. And I'll forever be glad.
"I love you," I whispered as we broke the kiss.
"I love you too."

There is no 'happy ending' in life like in the movies. There will be ups and downs all the time.
You just have to keep pushing through the bad times, even if you're not guaranteed the light at the end of the dark tunnel.
Why? What's the purpose?
Even if there's a small chance at happiness, you should grab it. Otherwise, your life will be filled with regret.
Bad times will be there, but good times will be there too. And if they aren't, at least you go down knowing you tried your best.
(A/n: We're pretty close to the ending!
Just one huge time skip chapter and the epilogue.
*cue me sobbing*
Damn, I'm going to miss this book. Writing this was a whole new experience for me. I loved it.
I just sat and read the whole book yesterday, and I'm proud of my work. It's way better than my other books, not gonna lie.
See you in the next chapters!)
