Chapter 1
༺°☆◦ •○●✿●○• ◦☆°༻
Every single day.
Every single day, I get up in the morning and sigh at the choices I make in my life.
I'm pretty satisfied with where I am right now, studying and pursuing my passion.
The problem here is my non-existent love life and how this one guy manages to completely wreck it.
Jeon Jungkook.
He's my best friend, a partner in crime and most importantly, my first love.
At the age of 13, I acknowledged the fact that I was catching feelings for my best friend. It was nothing really, just a small crush.
And like any other stupid character, I pushed those feelings away.
Big mistake.
Had I not done that and just dealt with it by getting rejected years ago, I wouldn't be here right now.
That stupid small crush has evolved in these six years and bloomed into a sad one-sided love.
I hope it wilts away, but it doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon.
Cursing myself out like I do every day, I get out of bed and bump into the drawer right next to it.
Great. Just great.
Shaking my head, I went to the washroom to finish my morning business and take a shower.
Finishing up, I got dressed in some decent clothes and braided my hair.
"MIRA! YOUR BOYFRIEND IS HERE!" Yoona, my roommate shouted.
You see, I didn't live on campus. Instead, I share a small one-bedroom apartment with my friend Yoona.
We agreed that this would be more affordable and we could work with one bedroom. We would take turns using the washroom and on alternative days we sleep on the small bed.
She has classes an hour after I do, so we manage just fine.

So far, we're doing okay.
"FOR THE LAST TIME YOONA! JUNGKOOK IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND!" I shouted back a reply, realizing who she meant.
I wish he was, though.
"YOUR SIDE HOE IS HERE TOO!" She said, completely ignoring my words.
"TAEHYUNG IS NOT MY SIDE HOE! HE'S THE MAIN HOE!" I chuckled and got my bag, getting out of the room to face my best friends.
"That's right. I'm her main hoe." Tae said proudly before looking at me. "About time, Mira! This thing makes me go crazy." Taehyung complained while pointing at Yoona.
"I know. It has that talent." I replied, making her scoff.
"Whatever, you brats!" She ushered them out. I quickly shoved some food down my throat, choking a little.
"Eat slower, jeez. You wanna die?" Yoona asked.
I decided to ignore her and finish up. Drinking some water, I was finally done with a record time of 4 minutes.
"Shall we go now?" Jungkook asked, putting an arm around my shoulder as I nodded, hoping that I wouldn't blush.
It's too late for anything to happen. Should've thought about making a move a few months ago.
"Yeah. Let's go." I said, thinking about absolutely random thoughts so that I don't blush.
"Taehyung, how's your project going?" I asked him, remembering about the project we had that he ranted about for weeks.
It was torturous.
"I'm not sure. It's not my best work, but the deadline is tomorrow and I highly doubt I can take a picture that can make me feel fully satisfied." He said while pouting slightly, making me coo at his cute face.
He just glared at me, making me grin.
"Sucks to be a perfectionist, hmm?" Jungkook asked, sighing.
Ever since we were kids, we hung out together. Granted, Taehyung joined a bit late, but we love him a lot.
So it's not a surprise when Jungkook's perfectionist trait rubbed off on all of us.
Being a perfectionist sucks. You can rarely be satisfied with anything. And people hate your detailed reviews on how to improve their work.
Like damn, if you're going to be offended then don't ask for any kind of criticism.
"Well, let's get to our class first. I'm sure we three can manage something." I encouraged them as we walked toward our class.
"Yeah, we'll figure something out. We always do...well almost." Jungkook said, making me snort.
"We do always figure it out." I frowned, making him shrug.
"Not that one time, no we didn't."
"Only for you." I rolled my eyes, knowing what incident he was referring to. "Of course sleeping because you have 2 weeks' work overdue and going to class empty-handed will not help."
"That's true and I can say that through personal experience now," Jungkook said.
"We know. We were right beside you pretending we didn't complete it either." Taehyung chuckled.
"The things we do for this idiot," I said as Taehyung nodded repeatedly before sulking about his project again.
"Cheer up, Tae. We won't sleep till you feel proud of your work. After our part-time jobs, we can go together to find the perfect shot." Jungkook said as he slowly started smiling.
"Alright!" He chirped, making me ruffle his hair.
"Now let's get through this day," I said. Taehyung whined about how I ruined his hair, making Jungkook ruffle it next.
The "Class president" glared at us three as soon as we entered.
Honestly, we're at uni. We're adults by now. (Even if we don't act like it.)
Why would we even need a class president? We have no idea.
Why was it this annoying rascal who was chosen? Again. No idea.
Who chose him? No clue, but they don't have a good judgement and it shows.
"Just so you know, this is not your house to just stride in like you own the place, Miss demon and her loyal servants." He spat, making Jungkook scoff and Taehyung roll his eyes.
Lame.
"What can I say?" I drawled. "Seeing you every day feels like Hell. Can't help but feel right at home."
I tried being nice to him.
Really. I did.
But he just seemed to hate Taehyung for no reason, and that gets on my nerves.
No one just gets to throw insults at my best friends other than me.
It took me years to get that right. So get in the damn line and tolerate these nutcases for years and then I'll think about it accepting your lame insults.
And since we stood up to him for Tae, he hates me and Jungkook too.
He's jealous of our friendship and it shows.
"I- ugh!" He groaned and walked away, huffing.
"I don't need this shit early in the morning," I grumbled.
"Oooh here comes Y/N~," One of the classmates said, making Jungkook immediately turn and look at her.
Oh great.
"More shit early in the morning." I groaned silently.
"Wow," Kook muttered, not hearing what I said since he was very busy staring at the girl who sat in the front.
I'm not going to lie. Y/N L/N is pretty and I think I have a teeny tiny girl crush on her that no one knew about. She looks like an absolute snack.
While Jungkook over here doesn't even try to hide his very obvious feelings towards her.
It's painful really.
Especially when I have to see his fanboy self every day while I'm stupidly in love with him.
"So, when are you doing to confess dude?" Jimin, our classmate asked, making Jungkook blush.
"Shut up, she's right here." He muttered.
"She had rejected every guy who had confessed to her in the 2 months, earning the title Elsa." A random guy said out of nowhere.
The supposed new cold-hearted girl.
It's stupid, isn't it?
And though I'm supposed to 'hate' her or something according to movies and books because the current love of my life likes her, I just can't.
Poor girl has no real friends. And I have no valid reason to hate her. She's not snobby, she's most definitely not a bully or some stuck up brat, and she minds her business.
I respect that.
Everyone needs a good friend though, and I can't help but feel bad when no one wants to talk to her.
Maybe I should befriend her before Jungkook makes a stupid plan and say ' oH my GaWd MayBe yOu shOuLd BeFriEnD hEr sO I cAn mAkE a MoVe oN heR.'
And if she ever comes to know that he made me talk to her, she might hate me or whatever.
I'd like peace, thank you. Drama should just stay in movies and fanfictions.
"I think I'll talk to her today," I remarked. "She seems like she could use a friend."
"Maybe ask her to join yall for lunch," Jimin said, making Jungkook blush. I nodded, thinking that it was a good idea.
"O-oh. That's a good idea." He nodded, suddenly super shy at the mention of his crush probably sitting with him for lunch.
"Playing the role of wingman/woman eh Jimin and Mira?" Another random classmate asked.
What's with people randomly joining our conversations?
"Oh hell no. I will not be a wing woman. I genuinely want to befriend her." I explained. "Sorry, Kook. Jimin and Taehyung can gladly take that job, though." I said honestly.
Jungkook just waved it off, not bothered in the slightest by my distaste for that position.
If Jungkook asks me to be his wing woman, no matter how smitten I am, I'd reject the offer in a heartbeat.
My poor heart can only take so much, imagine giving him tips on how to get the girl he likes.
Now that's what I'd call Hell.
"No thanks. I think Y/N would appreciate a regular friend more than a wingman trying to set her up." Taehyung said. I nodded and walked up to her, praying that she won't just stare at me silently or ignore me.
"Hey." I waved at her as she looked up, her (eye colour) eyes looking back at my brown ones.
"Hey." She said back with a small smile.
Seems good so far. No bitchy vibes.
"I'm Lee Mira. We haven't talked much over the two months so I thought I'll introduce myself." I said with a hopefully warm smile.
"I'm Y/N L/N. Nice to meet you." She said, returning the smile.
Okay. Nothing suspicious or cold yet.
"Nice to meet you too! I was going to ask- would you like to join us for lunch today? My friends and I would love to get to know you more- if you're comfortable that is. Otherwise, it's completely fine. No pressure." I reassured her.
Please don't ignore me please don't ignore me please don't ignore me-
"I'd love that." She said, looking happy.
That was easy. And I didn't even embarrass myself!
"Great! Well, I'll introduce my friends to you at lunch then?"
"Sure!"
"Okay then. See you at the cafeteria!" I said, rushing back to have a seat as I saw our professor coming in.
"Bye!" She waved as I waved back with a smile.
"How'd it go?" Jungkook whispered to me 5 minutes after the class started.
"Good. She seems like a nice person. I can't tell much from one conversation of course, but so far, she gives me the 'I'm sane and kind' vibe." I whispered back.
"So she's gonna join us?" Taehyung whisper asked me.
"Yup!" I said, making Jungkook squeal.
Yes, squeal.
This guy is smitten.
"Why the hell would she join us if she gives off the sane vibe?" Taehyung whisper asked.
"I honestly have no ide-"
"Lee Mira and Kim Taehyung! Share with us too. What's so interesting that you both are talking about?" Our teacher asked with fake intrigue, making me smile.
Time to be the class clown.
"Well you see-" I humoured our teacher. "We were just talking about how-"
Before I could finish, a piece of chalk came flying and hit my forehead, making everyone in the class giggle.
Yes. Even Taehyung.
Damn, that betrayer.
"Now-" Mrs Chan spoke some rather important stuff related to our studies which no one paid attention to.
And judging by her tone and glare towards everyone, I could feel it in my bones.
Today was going to be a long day.

I'm lost and lonely.
With all my fears.
I'm all alone.
There go my tears.
You said you'll stay.
You said I'll be free.
I need you. Come back.
Why did you leave me?
