Chapter 28

༺°☆◦ •○●✿●○• ◦☆°༻

A few years later

"I found Taehyung flirting with that woman again," Jimin said, making me look at him.

It's been a couple of years since the night when Tae asked me to be his girlfriend.

Things had inevitably changed, and I grew to accept them.

"Okay," I said before getting back to work.

"Seriously? You're not jealous?" He asked, disbelief clear on his face.

"Nope." I shrugged again.

For what reason would I be jealous?

"The amount of faith you have in him is seriously scaring me." He shuddered, making me smile.

Our relationship was going strong. We had a few fights over silly things, but we always made up. That's how it works for us.

"I know for a fact that he wouldn't cheat and neither would I." I clarified.

"Man. Your relationship is so weird yet healthy, I don't know what to say." He muttered, making me chuckle.

"We all changed quite a bit though, didn't we?" I said, leaning back in my seat as I remembered our friend group.

Yoonmin was doing well, with their usual bickering but unconditional love. It was endearing to watch, and any hate they got was thrown out of the window the moment they simply looked at each other.

Jimin worked with me as a photographer and we both opened up our studio, having part-time jobs to support our business which was steadily picking up.

Soon, we can afford to pay full attention to the job we like.

Yoongi dropped out, deciding that this wasn't his thing.

He revealed his never-ending love and a burning passion for music. Following up that path, he became a well-known rapper and the most famous person in our friend group.

He sure as hell is cocky, but at the same time down to Earth and humble.

How does he do that? We still have no idea.

Yoona and Lisa - which is her mystery girlfriend's name - are on a small break right now.

Due to a fight, they decided to take some time to figure things out. So far, there hasn't been much change in their status, but they both are trying hard.

Lisa was working as a dance instructor at a fairly well-known company and decided to use this time to work harder than before.

Yoona, who surprised us all by becoming a beautician, opened up her boutique a year ago. In the beginning, she struggled quite a bit, but now she can firmly stand on her own feet and support herself.

Y/N and Jisoo unfortunately did not work out. Jisoo was scouted by a well-known agency to become a part of a girl group after they started dating.

Due to the dating ban for trainees in her agency, they had a break up as she continued on her path.

In the end, she became a solo artist and worked her magic with her vocals, casually killing all her fans whenever she drops a song.

Y/N also decided halfway that photography wasn't her true passion and decided to try out for acting instead. Needless to say, in a couple of years, she got her very first gig.

One after another, she got offers that only seemed to be growing. She isn't that well known, but we all knew that with her talent it was only a matter of time.

Taehyung took inspiration from his 'Van Gogh hyung' and decided to become an artist. We talked quite a bit about this since he felt slightly afraid to pursue his dream, but I promised to support him no matter what.

His parents too reassured him and told him he always had a spot open in his dad's company if it doesn't work out, but they had faith in him that he would never need to take up on that offer.

After all, Kim Taehyung was a talented genius. He would manage just fine.

And he proved that as time passed, making everyone proud.

And last but certainly not least...Jungkook.

We sure had a rough patch back then, with Jungkook's feelings and my first proper relationship with someone. He eventually wanted to take a break from us all, breaking our hearts. Nonetheless, we supported him.

Eventually, he came back. We didn't even give him time to breathe as we hugged him tightly.

A few tears were shed and we all celebrated our reunion, our bond growing stronger than ever.

Eventually, he moved on from me and concentrated on his career instead. He surprised us quite a bit after he said he wanted to be a writer.

That's right. A writer.

He never showed interest in writing and always leaned towards photography, so this came off as a huge surprise for us.

Of course, we supported him no matter what, and boy did he struggle.

He went through quite a bit, with family drama (mother only) and constant writer's block which emotionally and physically drained him.

It got so bad that he never came out of his house, deciding it was better to stay cooped up in his apartment.

With quite some struggle and my stubborn self not letting him rot, I got him out of that misery.

But the most surprising thing was that his mother took a step back and accepted him the way he is, deciding that it was finally time to act like a mother.

He was reluctant, thinking it was all a part of her master plan or something, but she seemed sincere.

(Again, we never know.)

After that, his life changed for the better.

He published his first book after getting approval from his book editor. He wanted to self publish his book instead of publishing it the old way.

So he worked hard, hired a wonderful book editor, formed a launch team who was quite eager to have his book published, worked hard to design a cover and priced his book before finally publishing it.

It's a wonderful book called 'Second Lead' and it was doing great so far- though I wouldn't know. He forbade me from reading it till the fan meet, hoping for it to be a good surprise.

(A/n: *wink wink nudge nudge*)

He had quite a large fanbase considering that he published his book just this year, so he took our help to conduct a friendly fan meet and a question and answer session.

We all were so proud of each other, we couldn't describe it in words. So, we let our actions make it clear instead.

"Man, we've come far from the small group of idiotic friends, haven't we?" Jimin said, breaking me out of my train of thoughts.

"We sure did," I said with a fond smile.

Just then, the studio's phone buzzed with a message.

"I'll check it," Jimin said, getting up from his chair to grab the phone. He read the message silently before cooing.

"Aww. This guy wants to propose to his boyfriend tonight and he wants us to be the ones to capture the moment. And if he says yes, the wedding too." He said.

I smiled fondly. Photography is beautiful in its way. Capturing a moment with every little detail to remember in the future as you look back at those days-

"Wait a minute. Tonight?! That's a little sudden, isn't it?" I asked, my eyebrows furrowed.

"Oh wait. I know this guy!" Jimin clapped excitedly. "It's the plumber you accidentally proposed to! And the other guy is...oh my god...is..."

"Is...?" I asked, opening my water bottle to have some water.

"Ex class president?!" He shrieked.

Choking on my water, I had a coughing fit. Soon, I calmed down and sighed.

"Well, now we have to do it." I sighed. "Tae personally knows Hoseok from his contacts, so he must've told him that he could contact us."

"Yeah." Jimin groaned. "Seriously? A little more time to prepare would've been nice."

"Oh well." I shrugged. "Let's do it?" He asked.

"Hell yeah." I grinned before pausing. "Oh my God. I proposed to him by mistake."

"I remember telling you that it would never come back to bite you in the ass. Guess I was wrong." Jimin chuckled, making me glare at him.

"Jimin?"

"Yes?"

"Shut up."

"Okay. He sent us the location. It's-" He blinked again, checking if he got it right. "Our Uni?! He wants to propose in a place where people study? I don't know what to say anymore." His face screwed up in distaste.

"It's cute! They met there first...I think." I shrugged.

"I'm going to send the confirmation and call up our friends. It'll be fun to visit the place again." Jimin told me.

"True." I grinned. "Like old times."

He nodded with a smile. "Let's do it!"

2 hours later

"Why did we do it? Especially when it's so far from our studio?" I questioned.

"We're stupid. That's why." Jimin groaned, getting out of the car before stretching.

"It's worth it though," Tae said, stretching a little before back hugging me and placing a kiss on my head. "I'm sorry if it's too much trouble."

"It's fine." I grinned. "Though it would be awkward in a way, I'm excited."

He smiled at my excitement as we shared a sweet moment.

"Hey hey hey. You could apologize to me too ya know?" Jimin pointed at himself.

"Yeah, no." Tae waved him off, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

"I hate you." He grumbled before sticking to Yoongi, who welcomed his boyfriend with open arms.

"Let's go?" Y/N said, barely able to hold back her excitement as she pulled me away from Taehyung and ran towards the campus.

"Look! They still got that one miserable tree that they used to try to make the place look better!" She chuckled.

"And the same old dusty windows. Wow. Nothing much changed huh?"

"Uhh- Look at that." She said pointing at the renovated building.

My face showed distaste. "Ew. What kind of colour is that?"

"I know right?! Wait- is roaming around the campus at 10 PM legal?"

"Jung Hoseok is rich apparently. So if we get in trouble, just say his name or something. People will back off."

"Damn. From a plumber to the rich man people are afraid of. Quite a big upgrade." She nodded to herself as our friend group finally caught up with us.

"Where's he doing it?"

"At some classroom. They had their first kiss there." Tae said before thinking. "How did we never notice that they were a couple?"

"We just never cared enough," Jungkook said, waving him off.

"True true." I nodded before accepting Jungkook's hug. "So how you doing?"

"Great. The meet is in a month." He breathed out, his face showing nervousness. "I'm going to die." He said breaking the hug.

"I'll be there to personally plan your funeral," I said with a grin.

"Of course, you will." He hit the back of my head.

"Ow," I said quietly before dragging Jimin to the classroom. "We gotta go set up."

After walking in the familiar corridors, we reached the classroom that was lit up with fairy lights and decorations.

"Oooh." I let out. "Class president scored one, eh?"

"He sure did. Look at the picture on the table." He said, making me look at it.

"..." I silently stared at it before furrowing my eyebrows. "This looks like poor photoshop-"

"I'll take that," Y/N said before tearing the photograph with a grin, making my heart halt to a stop.

"Oh my God, wHY WOULD YOU DO THAT I KNOW IT LOOKED HORRIBLE BUT-"

"Mira," Tae said, making me turn to him. He had a boxy grin, the one that I fell in love with. "Look around. Does this place look familiar?"

I looked around properly before gasping in shock as people do dramatically in movies.

This was the abandoned classroom that they locked us in at that time when we were having an awkward situation.

"This place was something I chose because this was where Jungkook exposed me for having feelings for you-"

"You can thank me at your wedding." He winked as Yoona hit the back of his head.

"Shut up coconut."

"Rude hoe."

"No, you-"

Y/N pulled on both their ears, making them groan in pain.

"Shut it, idiots."

"Okay okay." They said in unison, making me chuckle.

"As I was saying." Tae cleared his throat. "This was indirectly the first time I let you know about my feelings. Maybe for you, this was an awkward memory but for me it was special. I felt truly vulnerable, but at the same time relieved. The cat was out of the bag, and I could finally breathe properly." He continued.

"Mira...these past few years have been amazing. I never thought I'd have you as my girlfriend by my side, but I'm so glad I did. I truly do love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you. So Lee Mira, will you just accept my proposal and be my fiancee because my knee hurts?" He pouted cutely, making me laugh.

I couldn't help but slightly tear up. He planned all this fake proposal and turned it into a real one with such detail that I fell for it.

"I don't know. Let me think." I said, thinking a bit. "Should I or should I not..."

"I don't know man." Jimin teased, joining me. "Should you?"

"Hey!" Tae whined, making me chuckle yet again.

"Yes, Kim Taehyung. I'll accept your proposal. Now get up you idiot." I said smiling, making him grin.

Slipping the ring onto my finger, he got up before pulling me into a hug as our friends cheered.

"I love you." He said, kissing my forehead as I smiled up at him.

"I love you too," I said as we shared a sweet peck.

"So, what about the party? You do have alcohol right?" Jimin asked.

Silence.

"He sure knows how to ruin the moment," Tae grumbled, making everyone laugh quietly.

"Taehyung will plan the party. Won't you?" I blinked innocently at his betrayed expression.

"Is it too late to ask back for the ring?" He asked.

"It is." I grinned. "Now you're never getting it back."

"I guess I'll just have to deal with you for the rest of my life." He sighed.

"I guess you will." I smiled.

Man, I love him so much.
