Jai skipped through the halls, waking up early for the first time in ages. A happy grin on her face, she followed the smell of bacon into the kitchen, where she found Sato making breakfast.
She lit up at the sight of her dear friend and quietly approached behind with quiet steps.
"Watcha' making?" Chaesong mused after she hugged her arms around Thique's waist.
The taller girl flinched and muscles tensed at the familiar voice, a blush creeping up.
"Some eggs and bacon, nothing special," she replied, backing away from the stove to get some orange juice.
Jai clung onto her back like Koya as Sato finished preparing breakfast. Her face was buried into her turquoise hair, breathing softly. Sato smiled to herself as she dished the food out to five separate plates.
They brought their meals to a table, where they sat across from each other. Quietly they ate their meals, scrolling through Twitter and such. Once in awhile Sato would look up and see an unruly head of purple hair in front of her, and grow fuzzy in the chest once again.
Unlike most of the public, Thique liked Jai's quirks, and she was sure the others, especially Lexie did too. She loved the way her toothy grin would shine when she didn't hide it, her funky way of rapping, and the tiny little mole behind her right ear.
When she told this to Liv a few days ago, she said and in quotes,
"Nobody in this entire fucking world would care about a mole except for you my guy."
Afterward, she sent Sato a few knowing gazes, and still to this day she doesn't know what they mean.
Probably never will.
"Have you ever felt jealous of anyone before?"
Thique looked up with a tilt, acknowledging Chaesong's sudden question. It made her freeze mid chewing which unfortunately resulted in a coughing fit.
Once she finished practically dying, she tapped her chin as if she was thinking about it.
"Sometimes..."
Liar.
"I'm not that type of person."
Seriously?
"But I'm not one to get jealous over someone so, no."
Oh just shut the hell up.
The violet haired girl gave a lame smile and looked off towards the window, outside the dorm. The orange light letting through as she sat there for a moment, silent.
Finally, she turned back to Thique, who's brow was creasing in anticipation.
"I know Liv Unnie likes Lexie, and I know everyone knows that," She says, fiddling in her lap.
"Yes, we all do sadly," Sato nodded. "Why are you bringing her up?"
"I just, I don't know I feel weird about it. Sometimes when we finish performing on stage, in our ending pose I'd glance at Lex, hoping we'd meet eyes like in those K-Dramas and whatnot."
Thique stayed silent. Unknowingly to Jai, she did the same thing as well but to her.
"Instead... she'd be looking at Liv. Don't get me wrong, Liv Unnie is an amazing performer and I even catch myself staring sometimes hehe... It's not like I'm not envious about Unnie herself, I'm more so envious..."
"Of the attention from Lex she's getting," Sato finishes, Chaesong replying with a small nod. "I get you, 100%."
"I think the best thing to do is just ignore those feelings or avoid them as best as you can."
Sato advised, thinking back to the stages ever since the dating news and even before then. She'd stared at Chae who never stared back, or when she bought the two movie tickets to watch their favorite movie together in the theater, but even then Jai would always focus on June Unnie and go to watch movies in the dorm with her.
Sato remembered coming back from the theater after finishing the movie, alone. When she saw those two cuddling on the couch in the dark, sharing their first kiss, she felt her heart drop. She quietly made her way around, then immediately bolted to her room after entering the hallway.
She vividly recalled lying on her bed feeling numb that night. She remembered because that's when those feelings started.
So many memories flooded back to Sato at that moment in her own thoughts.
She broke away from them as she heard Chaesong's laugh and felt an arm gently touch her shoulder.
"Yo, did you hear me? You kind of zoned out."
"Ah! Y-Yeah but could you repeat it one more time?"
Jai rolled her eyes playfully but repeated, "I said, I'll try that method out."
"Oh, yeah... I-I heard that."
"Sure you did." Jai gave a 'yah huh' look.
"Sorry, I guess I was kind of tangled in my own memories."
The raven-haired girl smirked. "I thought you said you weren't one to get jealous?"
"I didn't say I never got jealous." Thique furrowed her brows, which caused Jai to laugh once again for God knows what.
"Just, just drop it."
"Okay, okay, sure sure," Jai waved her hand. "But really, thanks for the advice, I'll think about it. And God, I never expected my best friend to become my relationship therapist."
"It's no problem."
It's a major problem.
"You can always come to me if you and Lex are dealing with stuff."
Please don't.
"I'm happy to help."
So fucking joyful.
"Thank you so much Thique, you're the best!"
Jai had walked around the table and threw her arms around the seated girl, holding her tight. Sato's cheeks warmed up at the sudden action and attempted to look away to hide it.
"Y-You're welcome..."
A little while later, Sato was washing their plates and other dishes left from the previous night. Jai had gone back to her room but after a few minutes, she reappeared holding blankets and her stuffed toys.
"If you're gonna watch shows do that after our morning exercise. You know how strict Becca Unnie is about that," Thique called over her shoulder.
"I don't care."
Sato groaned as she removed her gloves, putting the last plate into the washer.
"What do you mean you don't care? 'Moonshine' is coming out next week and we have to practice."
"Oh please, our practice is in the afternoon," Jai scoffed, gesturing for Thique to sit on the couch. "Let's watch some movies."
The main dancer crossed her arms. "And why should I?"
Silence came from the raven-haired. But after a few seconds, she spoke in a low tone,
"A few weeks ago we were meant to watch this one movie remember? The one about the green ogre and the swamp?"
Sato widened her eyes slightly as she could only form a little nod.
"I was a little busy that day, and I know you came back home alone. I freaking ditched you. That's no way to treat my best friend. I'm sorry."
"..."
Jai bit her lip awkwardly. "I thought maybe today, we could watch it together to make up for it? I-I mean we don't have t—!"
"No," Thique shook her head, uncrossing her arms as she made her way towards the sofa.
Chaesong looked to the ground hearing her answer, feeling a little hurt.
But to her surprise, she felt the couch sink.
She turned her head to find Sato sitting beside her. Her smile shining brighter than the sun and moon combined.
"I'd like that."
——
Ara was choking in the corner of the practice room.
Why you may ask?
The 'Moonshine' dance practice was moving along smoothly, the fastest Genie has learned choreo ever since debut.
Their lead dancer and center, Hana, had too many pancakes this morning. Plus with two members absent, she has to step in.
"*insert belching, squelching, dying sound effects*"
"Hey, hey, hey, you doing alright? Your burping is stinkin' up the room, mate."
She heard the voice of their Choreographer, Roni, comment standing feet away.
"I-I'M D, DYING HELP—"
"Sure sure, that's what they all say. Now let's start over okay? From the top!"
——
"1, 2, and 3. There, practice is over everyone, time for me to go home and get a drink."
After many, MANY, M A N Y run-throughs, the three of them were finally finished. Exhausted, they fell onto the floor, guzzling down water midst wiping their foreheads.
As Roni starts to head out, she crashes into Becca who pushes her way into the practice room, a dark look on her face.
Jai's waves. "Yo Manager Unnie, have you seen Liv and Lex? We've basically mastered the choreo now!"
She says nothing as she whips out her tablet and holds it in front of us. Her hand gripped the device firmly as she let out shaky breaths.
"Hey... you oka—"
"Read."

BREAKING: Genie's Sohye and June have reportedly been caught having a "date".
Dispatch has released photos this morning regarding the claim.
It's shown that Genie's June traveled by bike to a hidden park in Seoul to meet with Genie's Sohye. Some have suspected she rode at night to "hide their date". Others have thought she was just going on a bike ride and met her fellow member along the way.
Along with those, dispatch has also released photos of the two being very affectionate (hugging, kissing, etc.) under a gazebo, and fans are going crazy over it.
We are still waiting for statements from JinHit Entertainment, and how they will be addressing this.
Until then, from these sources, fans are asking the same question:
"Will these two become Korea's hottest new couple?"
Only time will tell.

Ara could feel the air tighten around her.
Her met eyes with Thique, their eyes both the size of dinner plates and breath hitched. They turned to look towards their maknae, scared to see the reaction of the youngest.
However, never got a glimpse of it, for Jai had already left, slamming the door shut.
The sound echoed throughout the room, leaving it filled with shock, fear, and dread.
