EMOTIONAL RELEASE

It's fairly late in the afternoon, when my phone rings. I sigh, get up to the cream colored phone that's connected to the wall. I lift the phone to my ear.

"Hello?" I ask. I hear a quick deep sigh and know exactly who it is.

My boyfriend.

"Hey, Y/N it's Gilbert."

I chuckle.

"Hey Gilbert." I reply with a clam smile on my face. I lean up against the wall with the phone cord tied around me as he begins to speak.

"God, I miss you..." He's talking fairly quietly.

"I miss you too, baby, but you have every opportunity to just walk into my house...you know that."

"Darling I need a break."

"Gilbert...what?" My heart drops. "What did-"

"No, no, no. Baby- baby settle down." I hear him mess with the phone. "I need some time away...from Arnie... Momma... work." His beautiful raspy voice seems even hotter when he's stressed.

"Gilbert, than come over tonight." I reply sweetly. I bite my lip. "I miss you."

"And I want you..." He whispers.

"Baby...why are you being so quiet?"

"I- I'm at work."

"Right." I laugh. A small silence happens between us. "Gilbert?" I ask.

"Yes, babe. I'm here"

"Just let me know a time. I'll be waiting for you." I kiss the phone. I hear Gilbert give a little laugh.

"Nine o'clock babe." He says pointedly. "Sorry it's late I gotta give Arnie-"

"I know, I know. Will do, my love. See you then."

"I love you!" He shouts right before he hangs up.

I smile in ecstasy at the thought of Gilbert coming over tonight. I unwind myself from the telephone cord and hang it up.

I go and take a quick shower and change into some pajamas. I take a book and go outside to sit on my front porch. I sit in a wooden rocking chair and sway back in fourth slowly as I read through the pages. I look up as Gilbert's truck's blinding lights pull up on the side of the road. I excitedly spring up and run over to his truck. He watches me with the cutest smile as I go around to his side.

"Hey, baby!" I reach in through his rolled down windows to hold his face.

"Oh wow, hello darling." He leans his head into mine and passionately kisses me. He lets out a "mmm" as I pull away.

"You couldn't wait til you got out, huh?" I tilt my head as I smile at him. He shakes his head. I kiss his nose as I step back to let him out of the car. He takes his keys out of the ignition and steps out of the car, sliding the keys into his pocket.

He slams the door shut and pulls me in for a hug. His big hands rub my lower back as I wrap my hands around his neck.

"You look so good." I say as I kiss him and rub his chest.

"Don't get me started on you." He deeply replies. "You're on my mind all the time...never a moment goes by that you're not."

"Woman." He looks around my face and gives me a smirk. "You drive me up the wall." He groans while says "wall". I giggle and give him a long kiss.

"Absolutely..." He says and his soft eyes look around my face.
