CHAPTER TWELVE—
the end of hawkins.

Getting back to Hawkins wasn't as great as Theo was hoping it was.

She helped set the twins room up in Lockes guest room, hearing her mother talk to the insurance company downstairs to try and sort everything out. Their trailer was destroyed in the 'earthquake' and took all their things with it. Everyone was okay due to not being at the house, but it definitely put a damper on everything.

"When do we get to go home, Theo?" Daniel asked his oldest sister as she helped set his things up on his side of the room. "What about Mr.Eyebrow?"

"Mr.Eyebrow will be okay." she gave him a forced smile. "I think he probably just ran into the woods to hide from the earthquake, you know? He'll come back when he knows it's safe to."

Daniel nodded. "Are we going to live with Locke now?"

"Just until our house gets fixed." Theo kissed him on the head. "It's not so bad, right? Lockes got a huge TV, and a whole lot of neighbors."

"What about Eddie?" he gave her a sad look. "He was our neighbor."

Theo hurt for the lose of Eddie. When she found out, she regretted so much. They'd always bickered badly, but deep down they did care about each other. They were neighbors their entire life, and he'd always kept her secrets from her friends, even when she was a dick to him. Theo wished she had the chance to thank him for that, but she didn't know that coming home would be such a nightmare.

"Theo!" Locke called from downstairs. "Um, could you come here a second?"

"Go find your sister." Theo encouraging Daniel as he ran to Lockes bathroom where she has been going through the old makeup. Theo skipped down the steps as her boots caused an echo, circling and passing her Mom. She gave her a tiny smile from the landline as Theo offered her one back, tossing her a piece of gum from her pocket. The Waters teen went down Lockes basement where he had been standing.

When he moved over, she was met with Thomas on the couch.

"Tommy." she gapped at their so called friend, a bully was more so the correct wording. "What are you doing here?"

He stood up and pulled her into a tight hug, putting his hand on the back of her head. "I'm so glad you're okay, Theo. I heard about the trailer park, and I know i'm not suppose to know you live there, but I secretly followed you home that one time because I didn't want you to go alone and, well, there you were."

Locke cleared his throat. "Tommy, why don't you tell us what is so urgent?"

"Right. Right." he paced and pushed them on the couch. "Brace yourselves, babies. This is about to get wild, and I might get murdered for telling you, but I love you guys and I just think you need to know!"

Locke and Theo shared a look.

"So this creature is obsessed with clocks, right? And apparently it has to do with some type of thing with Ms.Kelley, and you guys know I go visit her about that thing that happened to me a couple years ago, so here comes a bunch of weirdos screaming at me that i'm gonna get taken or some crazy shit like that!" Thomas ranted as he tossed his hands around as he spoke, Theo and Locke shared a wide eyed look. "And it was, like, Dustin and Lucas so I obviously acted kinda like an asshole-"

"Kinda?" Theo cut him off with raised eyebrows.

"Mega asshole." he corrected with a deep pant, pointing his finger. "And I just thought they were trying to get back at me for being kind-a mega asshole for all these years. But, then I get trapped in, like, a different universe and my body outside was floating or whatever! Well, luckily Lucas Sinclair came to my house and found me and tossed some headphones on my head, because apparently his ex girlfriend was going through the same thing so Kate Bush saved her! And then I get stuck with them for the next days fighting off this psycho bitch with no nose, and no skin!"

He panted for a breath, holding his knees. "Just give me-wow, give me a second. I regret sitting out basketball this year. Holy hell!"

"Tommy-" Locke began.

"Moral of the story-" he stood up straight with a point of his finger. "-you guys are the only two I actually like in our friend group so I think you need to believe me and we can just, like, abandoned them?"

Locke and Theo shared a look as she laughed. "Whatever you say, dude."

"Yeah?" he panted, throwing himself on the couch to hug the pair. "So, what did you guys do in California?"

"Funny you ask." Locke nodded his head as he looked at his ex-crush. "Theo, do you wanna take the lead on this one?"

Tommy had turned sixteen over the break, meaning he could drive his Moms car now. They pulled up to the old Hopper house where everyone had been outside. Theo gapped. "Is that Chief Hopper?"

"No way, that guys so skinny." Tommy shook his head as he parked, all eyes turned their way. "Oh, well, maybe so."

"Almost like weight loss exist?" Locke gave him a knowing look as Tommy mocked him in return, they all got out of the car. Steve and Nancy gave Tommy a small wave as he headed over, Mike meeting Theo as he wrapped his arm around her. Locke awkwardly stood next to Will. "Hi."

The Byers boy smiled. "H-"

But, he stopped.

Locke gave him an odd look as Wills hand touched the back of his neck. "Will, what's the matter?"

Lockes words caught everyone attention, looking over just as flakes of what looked like snow fell. Theo frowned her eyebrows. "What the fuck is that?"

Mike held his hand out and caught it in his hand, too small to identify as anything. "I'm not sure."

El took the lead, nodding at everyone as they walked. Locke put a comforting arm around Will, walking behind Theo and Mike, who were joined at the hand. They all stopped in the green of the large field, but El walked into the grey as more then half of their vision was set on fire and destroying Hawkins right before their eyes.

idk if you guys know about my prolgue book but eventually i want to write tommy's pov in there, i'll come back and post an announcement letting you all know! but in the mean time, i had so much fun here! i posted theos book at three am and woke up not remembering i did lol, but i'm so glad i did bc i love you guys and i love her and locke! such a fun experience projecting onto her and i'm glad you guys c a relate the same way i did. see ya for season five xxx
