;TWO.. robin gets jealous

・・・・☆・・・・☆ ・・・・

It has been almost three months since Robin moved to the Outer Banks to live with her cousin. Her life was finally turning back around for the better with the help of her friends and her close family. She never thought she would finally be at peace ever again, but now, she was. If her parents would've known about the situation that she was in then they would've asked for her to move on too.

Robin was back to her old self. She became careless, making her end up with a small talk with Shoupe in the police station a few times, along with JJ. She was back to joking around, laughing at everything, pranking people, occasionally stealing. The girl was with the pouges almost every single day during the summertime wrecking havoc on the island.

But overall she was happy.

Even though she was having the time of her life she still felt the gaping hole in her chest. Her parents were still missing. She still believed that they were alive but she was slightly doubting it ever since July 26th, when they officially pronounced the married couple dead. Robin barely had any reaction to that. She just signed some papers alongside her aunt and went back home where she continued to play some agressive tennis with the wall until the sun went down.

She finished the school year at the school with her friends, at which she earned a reputation for herself amongst the teachers. Robin was quite a good student, except for like every subject at which she almost failed that wasn't PE or art. Pope tried to tutor the girl but that was simply hopeless and he gave up after a week. She was also known as the troublemaker alongside JJ, as they were in the same class the teachers made them sit on the different ends of the classroom, but even that didn't help. The girl had detention almost every other day along with a few others that she quickly made friends with.

JJ also kept his promise as he always dragged her to parties during the three months. Obviously the three other pouges came along too but they weren't going as wild as the two. Robin often got drunk, so much, that she needed to just sleep for a day after the gathering but even that didn't help sometimes. Her favourite memory was when she jumped into a random pool of a kook, who's party she just snuck into, from a tree.

The girl got popular fairly quickly, in the whole town.

Some already knew her due to her parents reputation, some saw her name and face in the news after tennis matches, and some just got the know her due to her wild child energy this summer.

She secretly went to a Cameron house party in the beginning of August, due to Sarah inviting her. Robin had no problem with the blonde girl but she wouldn't tell Kiara, since she might disown her. The brown haired girl never really knew what exactly happened between the two old best friends since she wasn't there for a few weeks due to her travelling with her parents. She only heard of a few small details that her cousin shared about it but that wasn't much since she didn't even want to mention the name Sarah Cameron.

When she wasn't in the station, in detention or at a random party she was either at John B's or at the beach. The five of them went fishing a few times where I was mostly just John B doing the job since Kie was probably reading a blog about turtles, Pope was reading something important, and Robin and JJ were smoking their lives away. The group also went surfing a lot, they had small parties at the Chateau, or they ended up at the Wreck where they continued to pester Kie and Robin due to them working there as the Carreras owned the restaurant.

Robin was recruited to help at the restaurant the following week that she moved there. Anna brought it up ever five seconds, slightly hinting at the fact that she would really appreciate her also helping. So the girl agreed to work alongside Kiara. The brown haired girl also helped out Pope and his family at handing out some food or whatever it was that the people ordered. She was the one who went to the Country Club instead of Pope since she was still a kook by wealth status and she didn't want the poor boy to suffer.

Now she was laying on the soft mattress of her bed covered in multiple blankets. She was already up and even played some tennis with Mike, more like her trying to teach him, but she ended up back in her bed once again. She was waiting for her cousin to get ready so that they could go to the Chateau after they agreed to hang out for the day.

Her room has evolved a bit since she moved in. There were more pictures of her and her friends on the wall, a few more clothes were hanging in the closet and some new posters were placed up. On her bed side table she also managed to find a framed photo of her and her parents from the latest championship she won last year. She was standing in her white Adidas tennis attire, her hair in a braid while she was holding the biggest trophy she owns at the moment with a huge smile. Her parents were standing on both of her sides with their arms wrapped around their daughter.

Robin often looked at that picture, so she would still remember how it felt like to be enveloped in their bone crushing hugs.

The girl had her curly hair cascading down openly to her mid back, since she was too lazy to do anything with it today. After her morning training she finally managed to change into some loose bermuda shorts, a random white top with a funky patterned shirt on top.

Robin looked at her phone before groaning into a pillow and rolling over so she could sit up. It has already been half an hour since Kiara said she would be finished in five minutes. The girl stood up and after grabbing a few accessories, such as an older deteriorating bracelet, she pattered along the hallway to her cousins room.

"My princess, are you finished with dressing yourself finally?" Robin mocked as she knocked on the door a few times.

The brown haired girl heard a loud thud behind the wood then she heard the hurried footsteps approaching but stopping midway.

Robin chuckled as she rolled her eyes and placed her ear against the door. "Is everything alright in there?"

Suddenly the door was torn from her and she almost stumbled onto the floor of Kiara's bedroom.

"Holy shit, Robbie!" Kie stared in surprise.

Robin, after she stumbled inside, leaned against the cupboard trying to seem nonchalant, as if she didn't stop her crash landing with that move.

"'Sup!" Robin said with a saluting motion and a poker face.

Kiara gave her a long stare before finally waving her cousin towards the door. "I'm ready, can we go?"

"Can we go?" The curly haired girl asked back, her eyebrows furrowed together. "Please, I was ready to go for the past half an hour!"

"Oh, my bad." Kie replied with an eye roll as the two strode downstairs.

"Yeah, your bad." Robin called after her cousin as she hopped on one foot, trying to get her shoes on but Kie didn't look like she was stopping. "What were you even doing, man?"

Kiara turned back to her as she opened the door to the pattio. "None of your buisness!"

Robin let out an offended gasp as she clutched her hands to her chest. The two quickly said goodbye to Anna and Mike before dissapearing through the door leading outside.

The two jumped down the stairs in excitement and as soon as their feet touched the grass the familiar, sort of deteriorating, van came into view. John B's head popped out from the window as he leaned over the front seat to greet the two.

"Well, hello there!" He said as he opened the door to the van and pushed it free with his leg. "What took you so long?"

Robin pulled the side door open as she loved to be in the back more than in the front. "I genuinely have no idea, ask Kie."

The curly haired girl quickly jumped inside and took her usual spot in the corner behind the driving seat when she let out a surprised shriek. Pope was just sitting in the opposite side in silence as he read a book and wrote stuff into his notebook beside him. Robin didn't even notice he was there, and she didn't think he did either. Kie also finally jumped in to the front seat and the Twinkie roared to life before zooming down the roads of Figure Eight towards the Cut.

"Hey, Pope!" Robin greeted as she patted the back of the boys back.

Pope, not expecting the sudden motion, jumped in his seat and turned to the girl with wide eyes. "Robin! When did you get here?"

"You were in the zone, dude. Kie and I just got in, what are you even doing?" The curly haired girl asked as she tried to peek at the words he wrote down.

"I'm researching for the merit scholarship." He answered and looked over only to see her eyes giving him a look to continue. "It has to do with maths and physics, so I'm not even going to try to explain it to you."

"Damn." Robin groaned and leaned her head back against the Twinkie. "I'm not that bad at math!"

That made not only Pope, but Kie and John B to turn around to give her a look that said otherwise. The curly haired girl muttered under her breath as she then turned to look out the window. John B and Kie were having their own conversation which she couldn't hear due to the music and she didn't want to disturb Pope since she knew this scholarship was really important to him.

Her eyes wandered around the houses as they changed from two stories to one story, fancy to just about standing, clean to not so clean. Her heart always went out to the people living on the Cut and she loved to help them if they allowed her to. She could understand when they didn't, because if she herself had to grow up in these circumstances with the pouge vs kook thing, then she wouldn't want the "charity" from the kooks either.

Robin did consider herself more of a pouge but she was still a kook, and nothing would chance that either.

Suddenly John B stopped the Twinkie and just a second after that the sliding door opened and a blonde haired boy flung himself in. Robin groaned in pain as she was hit straight in the shin by the flailing limbs of the teen.

"JJ is in the house!" The blonde exclaimed as he tried to shut the door as John B started driving again.

Robin sat up straight once again and glared at the blonde. "Ow."

"My apologies, ma'am." JJ replied as he mocked a southern accent as he reached into his pocket to reveal a joint. "Will thee, fair maiden, accept my sincere apology?"

"How can I say no to that!" The curly haired girl answered as she yanked the rolled up paper and weed out of his hand.

As she did her fingers brushed against his own and she couldn't help the fluttering feeling in her chest. Robin furrowed her brows at her thoughts and quickly shook that feeling away.

She took her trusted, favourite lighter out from her pocket and lit the joint. That lighter was something she treasured since JJ got it for her birthday two years ago and he got himself a matching one aswell.

Robin took a long drag from the joint and puffed out the smoke as the calming feeling washed over her once again.

"Don't hog it! I didn't say you can have the whole thing!" JJ complained as he tried to take the weed back from the girl.

Robin smirked as she held the joint away from the blonde. "Sucks to be you!"

"Blah, blah, blah." The teenage boy rolled his eyes as he continued to wrestle with his friend for the smoke.

Being almost the same height as the boy Robin had a small advantage of being able to keep the treasured weed out of his reach. However her hopes of keeping it to herself were crushed when JJ finally leaned right over her and grabbed her wrist the take the joint out of her hands.

Robins words caught in her throat at the close proximity of the blonde and she just stared at him wide eyed. Their noses were close to brushing the others and the brown haired girl would've been sure that if she even moved a millimeter then--

"I got it!" JJ muttered with a smirk of triumph as he leaned back into his seat, taking a drag from the joint.

The curly haired girl sat there flustered at the moment that just happened. Her face was most likely red so she quickly turned her head away to look out the window before anyone could see.

Robin thought that the old crush she had on the boy was gone when she moved to the obx but after being on the same island for months and hanging out almost everyday she feared that it was coming back. Maybe it never even left. But the girl didn't think much of it since the boy often had random hook ups after the parties they held or attended, so Robin just decided against telling him anything. She often thought about revealing her feelings towards the blonde since it was like she was carrying the weight of a house on her shoulders with that secret but Robin didn't want to ruin anything. So since he seemed uninterested she herself wanted to distract herself from him.

"Where are we going?" The voice of Pope snapped her out of her thoughts.

Robin looked back outside only to see them back on Figure Eight, heading towards the mainland. Her eyebrows furrowed as she also turned her body towards the drivers seat.

"There's a construction going on somewhere along here and I thought we could hang out there before the small party tonight!" John B replied as he parked the Twinkie beside the shell of a large house.

JJ grinned at the thought and rushed to open the sliding door before jumping out. Robin was the next to follow but the blonde quickly reached a hand out.

"The hell are you doing?" The girl asked, raising an eyebrow.

JJ's smile widened as he motioned to his outstretched hand. "I'm trying to be a gentleman."

"Uh huh..." Robin hummed not exactly buying that statement. "For some reason I feel like you're not being entirely truthful."

"You're doubting me? How dare you!" He gasped dramatically.

Robin gave him a long stare before hesitantly grabbing his hand. She didn't miss the way his eyes twinkled in mischief so her doubts grew even more. As her legs hit the solid ground she saw the boy had hid a hand behind himself so Robin took it upon herself to sprint away from him. As she glanced back she saw his hand holding an open beer can that she had no doubt was supposed to end up drenching her.

After a small goose chase which ended with Robin splashing her own can onto the boy, the group climbed up the stairs to the balcony of the half built house. They settled down in different spots of the construction: John B and JJ sat atop of a scaffold, Pope was by the machines as he continued to test them out, Kie was examining the house from the inside while Robin sat on the makeshift wall of the balcony.

JJ sipped on his own can of beer as he looked up at the roof. "JB, I dare you to stand with one leg on the roof!"

"What? Dude, that's like a deathwish." John B answered as he too looked up at the roof.

"Yeah, JJ, why don't you do it then?" Robin asked with a raise of her eyebrows as she stared up at the blonde.

JJ narrowed his eyes at her as he took another sip. "I just came up with the idea, that doesn't make me obliged to do it! Come on, Johnny, don't be a pussy."

"I'm not a pussy!" John B complained as he turned to his best friend.

"Well, go on then!" The blonde grinned as he motioned to the highest spot of the building. "Make us pouges proud!"

The brown haired boy glared at him before examining the spot. He nodded a few times before standing up from the scaffold and began to climb up the roof. JJ continued to chant his name as encouragement while Pope just shook his head in slight worry.

The three all watched as the teenage boy made his way to the top and stared in awe as he managed to stand up.

"He's an idiot." Robin stated as she looked up to see their friend approach the ledge.

JJ chuckled from his own place as he adjusted the red baseball hat on his head. "Nah, he's amazing."

"You're also an idiot for coming up with that." She gazed at him, watching as he raised his hands in surrender.

"I'll do it if you do it!" The blonde challenged.

Robin continued to stare him down before standing up. She made her way to the boy and climbed up so she was eye level with the boy. Holding onto the pole with one hand she reached her other arm out towards the blonde.

"Deal?" She asked.

JJ grinned before placing the beer can down and shaking the girls hand. "Deal."

The two then turned back only to see John B standing on the ledge of the roof, taking a sip from the beer in his hands. Then, as if he wasn't just now standing on a place where he could easily fall from, he started to balance with one leg.

Robin climbed back down and walked over to Pope who was currently playing with a piece of equipment.

"If you fall, John B, we won't be able to catch you!" Robin yelled up to him, mocking him with false compassion.

Pope nodded in agreement as he started to professionally examine the situation. "Yeah, that's like a... what. Three story fall to the deck? I give you about a one-in-three chance of survival."

They all watched as he stuck his finger into his mouth to then tell the winds direction. "Hm. Should I do it?"

"Yeah, jump." JJ called out with an innocent look on his face.

Pope smiled as he pointed the power drill at the boy standing on the ledge. "I'll shoot you on the way down."

John B looked down at the dark skinned boy with hurt flashing across his gaze. "You'll shoot me?"

"Yep!"

John B then pointed a finger gun at the boy a he mimicked shooting his own gun at him. Robin looked around looking for another piece of the construction when she finally found it. She grabbed it and walked back over to the drill holding boy.

"Where would you like your grave, JB?" Robin asked as she leaned onto the shovels handle with a smirk and a tilt of her head.

The blonde wouldn't admit it but the girl looked damn hot as she did that. A small part of him wished he was the one in John B's place at the moment, but he quickly shook those thoughts away.

John B looked around in thought. "Not on Figure Eight, that's for sure. Perhaps under the tree by the Chateau, please!"

"Sure thing!" The girl chuckled. "I'll cover the costs of the casket and the headstone."

Just then Kiara emerged from the inside of the house with an unimpressed frown on her face. Robin guessed that she went around to see what non eco friendly things this new house for the kooks had. By the scowl, she could tell her cousin was not happy.

"They're gonna have japanese toilets with towel warmers." She exclaimed as she threw her arms up in frustration.

"Of course they are, why wouldn't they."

Kie continued to ramble as she looked over to the sea. "This used to be a turtle habitat, but who cares about the turtles, I guess?"

"I can't have cold towels."

"Can you please not kill youself?" Kiara looked up at the brown haired boy still balancing at the edge of the roof.

John B, ignoring the complaint with the girl, once again lifted one of his legs so he as left standing there with one once again. All of the others continued to watch him but JJ was more worried about the can of beer that he was flailing around.

"Don't spill that beer. I'm not giving you another one." He said which made Robin huff in disbelief.

"Don't spill it he says, but you were so keen on wanting to spill it on me, weren't you?" Robin asked as she crossed her arms.

JJ shrugged, not seeming sorry at all, but as if it just took his reminder to not spill it, in the next second John B's can fell out from his hands.

"Of course, you did, like right when I said." JJ muttered but he wasn't surprised.

Kie shook her head as she looked away with a tight lipped smile. "Smooth."

John B stood at the top with a look of agony as he reach out towards the fallen can. He was great at dramatics that's for sure.

"A-plus." Pope said while Kie also muttered a 'dumbass' under her breath.

Robin suddenly thought she heard the sound of a car door shutting. The girl placed the shovel she was still holding for some reason back in it's original place before walking over to the ledge of the Balcony. She leaned over the railing only to see a car parked there and two men getting out.

Robin grinned as she turned to the others. "Looks like we got company."

Pope rushed over to the railing too as he looked over to see the two security guards slam the doors shut. Robin continued to lean there as she waved to them as if she was someone from the British royal family.

Pope being the only responsible one clapped his hands together as he turned back to the group of friends. "Let's wrap it up!"

"Boys are early today." John B stated the obvious but didn't move from the roof.

JJ stood up from the scaffold where he was sitting quite comfortably. "Humpty Dumpty, let's roll."

Robin still stood by the edge, taunting the two security guys but gasped as she recognised one. "Gary! I thought I'd never see you again!"

"Gary is that you?" JJ asked as he leaned over the part of the roof. "We missed you!"

The group continued to scurry around in a hurry but Robin and JJ seemed to be enjoying this situation a little bit too much. Kiara quickly grabbed the collar of he cousins shirt to drag her with her so they could escape the security before she would end up in the police station. Again.

"You two are just asking for it!" Kiara laughed out as she pushed her cousin in front of her so she could keep an eye on the slightly taller girl.

Robin turned around to spare a glance at her. "But he's my friend!"

The group continued to run down the stairs, avoiding any loose wooden panels or anything they could trip over. They ran through the house while laughing their heads off until they came face to face with Gary and the other guy. The friends avoided them as the two older men threw curses as they tried to catch the teenagers.

One of them managed to grab JJ by the arm but the boy was too good at escaping by this time of his life. "I'm not much of a hugger, man!"

They continued to run into the backyard as the other two continued to chase after them. Kie and John B already managed to jump over the fence and sprint towards the Twinkie while the other three were still running to the gates of their freedom.

"Go, Pope!" Robin yelled as she ran behind him.

"Go, go, go, go, go!" JJ also encouraged him from the back.

Said boy jumped across the white fence only to come face to face with the grass which made Robin burst out in laughter as she and JJ also got across. The two friends quickly dragged the fallen soilder to his feet as they rushed to the van.

"Come here, you little pricks!" Gary yelled after them as he lunged at the poor wooden fence that was only a bystander in the whole ordeal.

John B honked the horn of the Twinkie as they rolled up to them. "Bus is leaving!"

"Come on, guys!" Kie yelled.

Just then the three of them jumped inside of the car in a hurry and John B wasted no time in driving off. They were all huffing and puffing after the sprint they weren't exactly prepared for but they continued on laughing.

They continued to drive at a not-so-fast pace as Garry continued running after them yelling.

"Check out Gary, gunnin' for a raise!" Pope laughed as Robin and JJ peeked their heads out to watch the poor man run.

JJ waved at the guard. "Come on, Gary!"

"You got this! I believe in you!" Robin added with a smile plastered on her lips.

"Hey, slow down!" JJ yelled at John B who happily obliged.

The blonde quickly reached inside the van to grab a can of beer before joining Robin at the door once again.

Kie continued laughing as she leaned back in her seat. "You're gonna give him a heart attack!"

JJ continued to wave the can at the man as bait to keep running. "You're so close! You can do it! There you go!"

The blonde boy threw the can to Gary who tried to grab it but with the momentum he sadly missed.

Robin huffed out some air in pity. "You almost had it! If we meet again I'll spare you some."

"They don't pay you enough for this, bro!"

"Guys, stop, stop." Kie tried to seem serious but Robin knew her cousin well enough to know she was also enjoying this.

"Oh, come on. That sort of initiative is just begging to be punished!" JJ replied with a grin.

They continued laughing as Gary finally gave up on trying to catch up to them. Finally, Kie closed the sliding door and the van sped along the roads towards the bridge which led back to the Outer Banks.

The group of pouges finally arrived back to the Chateau after a long day of running around and wrecking havoc in the Cut and the mainland. Now they were just lounging around in the backyard, waiting for the sun to set.

John B, for some reason, thought that he should throw a pouge party tonight at the Chateau. So the afternoon went by with them cleaning the wooden house, just enough for it to seem a bit tidy since it would become trashed by the morning most likely. Kie and Robin agreed to go shopping for some of the necessary things such as cups, snacks and the most important of all, alcohol.

Robin knew of the best spot to get drinks in the OBX as she had befriended the owner at a party once after bonding over a joint. Since then they always had her go get the drinks from the guy.

The sun was setting down and soon enough people were dragging in. The mood was already set by the colourful fairylights and the music. Robin was quick to call dibs on the dj position since her party playlist was always getting compliments so she never allowed anyone to play their own music.

The crowd mostly consisted of pouges but a few kooks were scattered around here and there. John B didn't really care, as long as it wasn't the infamous group of kooks who they hated, that being Rafe, Kelce and Topper, the group didn't really care.

Now the girl was walking around the place with a red paper cup in her hands filled to the brim with who knows what. She saw Kiara was in a deep conversation with a few people most likely about turtles or something. John B was off somewhere, Pope was talking to some girl who she was sure was getting weirded out by his speech about his choice of career.

She continued looking around for the last member of the group aka the infamous blonde. When everyone else was occupied she had one option left, that being JJ Maybank, who she could always count on to have a good time with.

Robin, once she spotted the back of his head started to walk up to him with a grin inching it's way to her lips. She was about to think of a way to scare her when she abruptly halted.

There he was, kissing a random brown haired girl who was most likely a kook.

The curly haired girl, for some unknown reason, felt disappointed. A frown replaced the smile she had a second ago as she watched the two giggle with each other about some random topic. Robin didn't understand what she was feeling. She just wanted to drag that girl away so she could sit down in her place. She wished to be the one who made him laugh that god forsaken laugh that always brought a smile to her face whenever she heard it. The girl continued to glare at the scene infront of her, whilst almost crushing the cup in her hands. Realisation dawned on the brown haired girl as her eyes widened in horror.

Was she..? Oh, god no, she couldn't be.

Robin turned back around to speed walk away from the two as she chugged down the cup full of alcohol. She rounded the corner back to the keg and poured herself some more to drink.

She couldn't be jealous. No, she shouldn't be jealous. She knew that JJ had random hook ups at parties and it never seemed to bother her this much before. Why did she suddenly feel so angry at seeing him with a girl who just so happened to have similar features to her own.

Robin continued to glare at them from a distance as she leaned against a tree whilst taken long sips from her cup.

"What's got you so miserable?" A random voice asked from beside her.

The girl jumped in her place, not expecting anyone to disturb her line of thought. As she turned her head to face the scource of the voice she was met with a boy, seemingly close to her age, she didn't recognise. He was a bit taller than her, had striking blue eyes like the ocean and brown fluffy hair parted down the middle. He was wearing a maroon hoodie and some loose fitting jeans, paired with a pair of sneakers.

Robin didn't recognise him as anyone that she knew or had seen before but she could tell that he was handsome.

"You're staring." He said with a smug smirk as he lit a cigarette which rested behind his ear.

The girl grunted as she looked away in a hurry but her ears burned in embarrassment. "No, I wasn't. I don't know how much you drank already but I think you should stop because you're halucinating."

"My bad." He chuckled as he continued to smoke the cigarette. "My eyes were deceiving me."

"Do I know you?" Robin asked the question that was bothering her.

The boy cleared his throat as he turned to also lean against the tree, facing Robin. "I'm Austin. We played at a few of the same tennis matches before."

"Wait, hold on, you're Austin?" The girl questioned as she recognised the name finally. "As in Austin Sharpe?"

Austin nodded, the proud smile not leaving his face. Robin knew who he was, hell, everyone who played tennis or payed attention to sports around here knew who he was. The boy was the best tennis player in the state, Robin being the one right after him. She almost snatched the title away from him a few times.

"The one and only." He replied as he took a drag again.

Robin glared at him playfully. "Don't be so smug, you're not the only one who has a reputation in the tennis world."

"Yeah, of course, Miss Coldwell." Austin bowed to her as if she were royalty but she could see the playful mockery in his eyes. "Robin Coldwell, the second best tennis player in North Carolina!"

Robin cringed as she punched the boy in the shoulder. "Leave that last part out, I am coming for your title, Mr. Sharpe, you better watch out."

"No chance." Austin said as he stomped on the cigarette that he finished smoking. "I am keeping you behind me this season, even though you are right up my tail."

"Uh huh, keep dreaming. Enjoy it while you can because once the season ends I'll be the one at the top." The curly haired girl replied curtly as she looked around once again.

John B has joined Kiara but looked utterly miserable as she continued on and on about the topic he and everyone else had already heard about. Pope was still talking with the same girl, who was the first one to actually stay after he mentioned the fact that he wants to be a coroner and what that is. And then JJ was still there with the same girl. The sight still made her jaw clench in annoyance.

Austin followed her gaze and his eyes also landed on the two. He looked between the pair and Robin before he motioned to them with his hand.

"You two got something going on or something?" He asked in genuine curiosity.

Robin chocked on her drink as she began coughing and looked at him as if he was mad. "What? No! You're so funny, what gave you that idea!"

"You're looking at that girl as if you want to murder her." Austin pointed out as he gazed at her.

"Your eyes are definitely deceiving you."

"Right, okay." He hummed but seemed to be lying.

"Why do I feel like you don't believe me?"

"I do!"

"That hum seemed like you were mocking me."

"Your ears are deceiving you."

The two bickered on until Robin rolled her eyes and turned away to glare at the sea. Austin, who seemed fairly amused by the situation, also looked towards the sea as he leaned against the other side of the tree, not wanting to make Robin uncomfortable with his close proximity.

The boy always thought that Robin seemed like a cool person to get to know. Everytime he saw her a match he tried to approach her but Robin seemed like a vicious creature when she was in a competitive mood so he never actually did, since he wanted to keep his head. So when he spotted her across the sea of teens he thought that this was the perfect opportunity.

"So, are you a kook kook or the normal version?" Robin asked to break the small silence.

Austin furrowed his brows in confusion. "What's a kook kook?"

"Are you a snobby, hates every pouge, is completely out of touch with the world kook?" The girl asked once again in complete bluntness, as she rephrased her question.

"Oh! No, not at all, I wouldn't be here if I was." Austin shrugged in honesty. "I live on the mainland, I only come here every now and then. I don't exactly believe in all this kook vs pouge bullshit, truth be told."

Robin hummed as she nodded, glad at hearing that statement. Her eyes involuntary drifted back to JJ and the kook who seemed to be having the time of their lives once again. The girl's eyes widened once he saw JJ motion to the Chateau with a smirk and the girl joined him as they went inside. Robin stared with her mouth hung upon at the scene. She rolled her tounge against the inside of her cheek in frustration before letting out a long breath.

Why was she so damn jealous.

Austin was leaning against the tree was also deep in thought. He didn't know if he should just be blunt about his question or not, because he didn't want to seem like a complete dick. The alcohol he consumed in the past hours and the cigarettes he smoked were probably the key factor of his next move but he didn't feel the need to stop himself.

The teenage boy moved a bit closer to the girl as he continued to stay leaned against the trunk.

"I might be completely blunt saying thi--" He started.

"You do realise who you are talking to right now, right?" Robin asked as she raised an eyebrow.

Robin was usually pretty straight to the point whenever she knew what she wanted. If she had no clue what she was doing then she seemed a bit shy but mostly the girl was confident and stern at her decisions or words.

"Right, the queen of bluntness." Austin laughed as he scratched the back of his head. "Look, I think you're pretty cool and I would love to get to know you better."

Robin grinned in reply, a different kind of spark in her eyes and she already began searching her shorts pockets for her phone. Once she found it she unlocked it and handed it to Austin who looked at her a bit confused.

"Could I have your number, number one tennis player?" She asked with a playful quirk tugging at her lips.

Austin mirrored her own expression and began typing away at her contacts. "I thought you'd reject me, second best tennis player."

"I'm full of surprises." She shrugged as she took her phone back once he was finished.

Robin took one last glance at the Chateau where JJ and that girl had dissappeared off into. Her eyes held a feeling that not even she would've been able to decode, but the frown on her face was making it's way back. The curly haired girl shook her head and finally decided for herself.

She will forget any feelings she had for JJ Maybank. She won't care anymore. She should be able to live her life without him being constantly on her thoughts.

With that Robin looked at Austin and leaned closer to him so she could whisper in his ear. "Do you wanna get out of here?"

"Only if you want to, I don't want to make you uncomfortable." Austin replied, not expecting Robin to be the one to hint at the thing they were both thinking of.

Robin chuckled and grabbed the teens hand before the two dissappeared from the party giggling to themselves.

What none of them noticed was John B and Kiara's head shakes at the action of both JJ and Robin.
