;THREE.. here comes the hurricane, bitch
・・・・☆・・・・☆ ・・・・
When Robin woke up the sun was just beginning to rise. The white walls were tainted with yellow, orange and pink as the light shone through the windows. The curly haired girl stretched her limbs as her usual morning ritual but once her arms hit something she immediately stopped.
Her eyes widened as she quickly rushed to sit up which gave her a view of her surroundings. She wasn't in a room that she could recognise at all. The walls were painted a an off white, there were many trophies littered around. There was a large spacious closet by the entrance to the room and there was another door which she guessed was an on-suite bathroom. As her brown eyes scanned around she began to notice male clothing around the room, on the chairs and some on the floor.
That's when she noticed the breathing of another right beside her.
Robin slowly turned her head to look at the scource of the sound only to find Austin, still passed out asleep. Realisation dawned on the girl as she replaying last nights events in her mind.
As she glanced down at her body she was glad to find herself in a loose nike tshirt, that was most likely the boys since it was a bit big on her, and her jeans she had on before. Then she turned to face Austin. His hair was a tangled mess and covered his eyes, his bare chest rose and fall with every breath he took, making Robins eyes involuntary examine his toned muscles. He also had on some random shorts that she was sure he usually trained in due to the red stains of the clay at the tennis courts around the area.
She looked around only to find her phone resting on the table beside the bed. Robin turned it on to check the time, only the sigh in relief when she saw that it was still only past 6 am. The others would definitely not be up yet, there was no chance at that.
The girl, trying not to make too much noise, grabbed her socks and shoes that were disregarded on the floor, and after putting them on she rose to her feet. She tiptoed towards the door and thought that she was doing a great job at being stealthy.
"You're leaving already?" A groggy, raspy voice called out from behind her.
Robin halted in her steps right as she was about to reach for the handle. She turned back around only to see Austin sit up, looking like a zombie who just woke up from a hundred year nap, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"I didn't want to wake you." Robin replied as she leaned back against the piece of wood.
Austin's lips curved up into a cheeky smirk as he looked up towards the tall girl. "Leaving me behind like a one night stand."
"I thought--" The girl started to explain.
"That I was just drunk or something and I wouldn't want to see you again?" Austin finished for her a knowing look on his face as he sat up straight. "I meant what I said last night about wanting to get to know you better."
Robin looked dumbfounded for a second. She didn't think that the teen boy would remember anything that happened. Let alone did she think that he meant his words.
Unknowingly a small smile formed on the girls face as she looked down, suddenly feeling a bit shy. She could hear Austin stand up and after a few seconds she could tell he was right infront of her.
The curly haired girl looked up into the blue eyes of the boy. She was captivated by them since the second she gazed into them. It did awfully remind her of--
No. She won't mention it anymore. Let's try again. They reminded her of the calm blue ocean.
"Let me take you home." Austins voice broke her from her inner turmoil.
Robin blinked a few times. "You want to take me home?"
The boy nodded as he reached over to the keys that rested on the cupboard beside them and shook them in the air. "Yeah, I'll drive you, I don't want you to walk."
"I would appreciate that." Robin smiled at the gesture.
"Hold on, let me get a shirt!" Austin laughed as he realised that his top was still bare.
Robin watched as he walked over to his closet and grabbed a random grey shirt. The girl, being the bold person she usually was, allowed a smirk to creep up onto her lips as she strode over to the teen.
Robin rested an arm on the shoulder of Austin who jumped at the sudden contact, as he hadn't gotten the piece of fabric over his head yet. "I don't mind you like this, if I'm being honest."
"Damn, someone's feeling bold!" Austin exclaimed with a raise of his eyebrows.
The girl shrugged, faking innocence as she looked slightly up at him. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"I didn't mind seeing you the way I did last night either." The teen boy replied as he leaned down to close the gap between the two.
Robin placed a hand on his face, pushed him in the other direction. "Take me out on a date first, number one tennis player!"
"I think we skipped a few steps already, don't you think?" Austin chuckled as he regained his balance by leaning into the closet and he finally pulled the tshirt over his body. "But I will take you up on that offer, Miss Coldwell."
"Well, I sure hope so!" Robin mocked a surprised gasp.
The two laughed once again before the boy showed her the way through the house to his car. Turns out his family had a house in the OBX on Figure Eight, where they often held buisness parties or randomly came to spend the weekend at. His parents trusted him so he had the house all to himself at the moment, not that he minded.
Austin, after they walked out into the warm summer air that was mixed with the smell of the salty ocean, stopped by his car and opened the passenger seat for the girl. Robin gladly hopped in the car and after the boy also got in they started to drive past the many houses of the kook side of the island.
At the beginning of the car ride Robin asked him to drop her back off at the Chateau, a wish that Austin was more than happy to fulfill for her. So that's where they headed to instead of the direction of the Carrera residence.
The pair continued to chat about the most random topics as they giggled or sang along to the music on his radio. Robin didn't expect to get along with someone so quickly but after this first interaction with the tennis player she felt comfortable around him. He too was surprised at how well their personalities complimented each other.
Once the car crossed the small bridge and as the houses turned into run down buildings it became clear that they were close to her destination. The sun was still rising and a few people already managed to crawl out of their beds to go fishing or run some errands. Austin, knowing the route due to last night, turned in the familiar road and stopped the engine.
Robin grabbed her phone that she placed on the dashboard for the ride and took a sneaky picture of the boy.
"What was that for?" Austin looked at her with a confused smile.
The girl typed around on her phone before showing him the picture that was now the icon of his contact. "Ta-da!"
"Come on! I wasn't prepared at all, you got my ugly side." Austin complained.
"You can't look like a model every second, Austin!" The girl laughed as she opened the door to get out before letting out a shriek as he also took a picture of her. "Hey!"
"Now we're even." He grinned in triumph. "Text me sometime?"
Robin smiled as her cheeks flushed with a light shade of pink. "Of course. Thank you for dropping me off!"
"You know, we will need to meet again because you have my tshirt on and that is my favourite tshirt. I will need it back." Austin called after her.
"I doubt this is the only one, you also play tennis. I have thousands that look like this so you must too."
"You caught me."
"I do think I left my own top at yours so I will need that back."
Austins smile widened at that as he nodded before starting the engine again. "Then it's settled, we must meet again. See you soon, Robin!"
Robin waved goodbye to him as she turned back around to march towards the Chateau. She could hear the tires of the car crunch on the gravel underneath it as he drove away from the house.
The girl couldn't help the giddy giggle that left her lips as she skipped for a second instead of walking. She tugged on the loose tshirt, on which she could still smell the scent of the boy, as she decided to tie it up with the spare hair tie on her wrist.
As Robin marched up the stairs she was met with a passed out Pope on the porch couch. She shook her head as a dissapointed mother, as if she wasn't in the same situation before. As she pushed the door open she saw her cousin, Kie, sleeping in a not so comfortable looking position on the sofa.
Just then she heard a door open. She peeked her head into the corridor only to see John B, shirtless, walk out from the bathroom with a yawn. As her eyes wandered to the left she was met with a sight that made her jaw clench once again. There was JJ on the bed, in the spare bedroom, with the same girl as he was with last night. Robin immediately turned away with a disgusted frown on her face.
"Dude! Come on, man. Get outta here!" She heard JJ exclaim and throw a can towards John B who also accidentally looked inside.
The brown haired boy shook his head as he closed the door to the room before continuing his way towards the living room. He, however, did not expect to bump into an angry looking Robin.
"Jesus!" John B yelled as he jumped in surprise.
Robin turned back around to face the confused boy as she made a cross motion with her hand. "Do not fear, my child."
"When did you get here?" He asked as the two walked out into the living room / kitchen area.
"Just now, actually."
"Did you have a good night?" John B continued his questioning as he picked up the picture frame of his dad and mum.
Robin nodded as she pursed her lips. "Yep."
"With Austin?" Her friend asked with a raise of his eyebrow.
"Uh-huh... wait, how do you even know his name?" The girl asked as she looked at the teen in confusion.
"Robbie, I always watched tennis because of you so I've seen him before." John B answered as he picked up a few cans of beer which he threw away.
The girl hummed as a reply to that statement as she zoned out on the framed picture of the boys father. As she looked to the right of it she found another picture with Big John and her own father from when the two teens were probably only five.
She was still not over the fact that they were gone. All three of them. The whole case seemed too weird for Robin. John B's father dissappears at sea and her parents vanish into thin air with their house trashed but no blood.
"Morning, Kie!" John B waved at the other girl as she stirred in her spot on the sofa.
"Morning." Kiara murmured as she reached for her phone beside her.
Robin let out a long sigh as she sat down beside her cousin on the couch. She watched as John B went over to the fridge for a bottle of beer and open it, offering the girls one too but they declined. The boy shrugged, saying more for me, and he walked outside into the backyard towards the hammocks.
Today he was supposed to go to have a check up talk with some lady about his situation. Robin knew that he was a bit stressed about the meeting. He has been, quite successfully, keeping up the lie that his uncle T was actually looking after him even though they had no idea where the man was in the world.
Kiara groaned as she sat up straight in her spot while she stretched her arms into the air. She looked over at her cousin with narrowed eyes as they adjusted to the light while she scanned her up and down.
"Nice shirt." She stated simply, immediately taking notice at the tshirt.
Robin nodded in a haze as she stared blankly in front of her. "Yeah..."
"Had fun yesterday? Do I need to give you the mum talk or--"
"God no! Please, spare me, but yeah... I did." Robin groaned as her face felt warm once again at the question.
"Cool." Kie replied.
The girl knew that her cousin was upset. Ever since she saw her ditch the party with a guy that she just met she knew that something was bothering her. And what else would the capital B bother be, than JJ Maybank. Kiara saw how Robin's jaw clenched repeatedly as she saw the boy with the random girl at the party, but there wasn't really anything she could do about it.
As if Robin's eyes weren't craving bleach already after the sight she saw when she entered the house, JJ and the random girl emerged from the room. She stared at every step they took towards the door leading outside while the two chatted along. Robin glared at the back of their heads through the window but huffed once she had enough at seeing them together.
She hated how it still bothered her and how even though she promised herself to forget everything, the feelings were still in the back of her heart. A quick thought of what would be able to make her forget about all this crossed her mind but just as quickly as it came she cleared her mind of it.
After a few minutes of him and the kook talking outside, John B was the first to come back in. He told the three friends that he was going out to that meeting that he had scheduled today so they said their goodbyes for the next hours.
Once the girl heard the Twinkie open it's doors she changed her mind. Robin, wanting to just have a day to herself, jumped up from the couch, said a quick hey and bye to Pope, rushed over to the van. On her way there she passed the blonde teenager who looked at her as if he wanted to say something but Robin just strode past not even wanting to look at him. She feared that she would blabber something that she didn't want to.
John B, a bit confused, still agreed to drop his friend off by the shops in the heart of Kildare Island. Robin just wanted a bit of peace of mind for herself for one single day this month.
So what else would be better than having a small shopping spree for snacks and other things.
As she waved goodbye to John B who drove off to go to his own destination the girl took a look around. She spotted many kooks running around with bags full of who knows what and many pouges being the ones who handed them over.
She tucked her hands in her pockets and started walking around the place. Not having anything better to do she looked inside the windows of every store to see if anything caught her eye. There was one thing that caught her eye, that was the many chocolates and sweets in the back of the grocery store.
Ignoring her brain telling her no she opened the door to enter the shop and she grabbed herself a small trolly which she could stack full with things she probably wouldn't need. Robin continued on just looking around while her basket got fuller and fuller until she finally had enough.
The girl during her time spent in the store decided that she and her friends could make some smores tonight. So the girl got all the ingredients and went to pat and the front. She usually kept some money in her phonecase for times that she needed it but as she counted the bills her eyes caught the attention of the piece of paper folded inside. Robin gulped as the memories flashed before her eyes once again.
She quickly gave the cashier her money before rushing out of the door to the fresh air.
"Robin?" A female voice called out from behind her.
Said girl once again turned around to face the direction the yell of her name came from. Robin then met the kind, brown eyes of the infamous kook princess, Sarah Cameron. However the girl was not alone. Beside her was none other than her boyfriend, Topper Thornton and behind the two was an uninterested Rafe and Kelce. The blonde girl also looked like she wanted nothing more than the two boys to piss off but there was nothing she could really do about it.
"Sarah... hey!" Robin greeted back as the group of kooks came closer.
The curly haired girl didn't know whether to greet the three boys whom she disliked with a passion or not, but she decided that if they want to talk to her then they can. She won't.
"I haven't seen you in ages!" Sarah smiled as she hugged the girl, who did not expect the gesture but tried her best to return it.
Robin gave her a tight lipped smile as she glanced behind the blonde only to see the stares of the other three. "Yeah. Uh, are they your guard dogs today, or what?"
"Hm?" The girl asked and turned back around only to see what the taller teen was talking about. "Our parents just sent us out to gather some things for the hurricane that's supposed to hit tomorrow. Though as you can see they do not want to be here, I didn't have a problem with it!"
"Great, I was just looking around the shops, but I'll see you sometime?" Robin said as she tried to get out of the situation.
She had no problem if it would've been just Sarah but with the Alvin and the chipmunks gang behind her Robin wanted nothing else than to leave. She didn't think that they despised her only disliked her due to her being involved with the pouges instead of the kooks.
"I also wanted to look around! Why don't we go together?" Sarah exclaimed with a large smile. "I need another girls opinion on a few things."
Please don't, Robin thought as the smile on her face remained frozen.
Robin quickly looked at her phone and put on her best facade of shock. "Oh, would you look at the time! I need to go! I promised my aunt that I would get some... potatos!"
As the girl said a quick goodbye to Sarah she was about to push her way past the three kook guard dogs. Robin thought that her escape plan was flawless until a firm hand grabbed her arm.
As she looked up she found the mocking face of non other than Rafe Cameron. Robin's eye twitched in annoyance as she looked between his hand that was still gripping her left arm and his eyes.
"But your bag already has some potatos in it, Robbie." His deep voice stated while a taunting smirk made its way to his face.
The way he used her nickname made her want to just punch him in the face repeatedly even though it would've had her get the millionth talk from Shoupe.
Instead Robin looked down at her bag, where the vegetables indeed rested, and her face scrunched up into a grimace. "Wow, would you look at that, you're right. For once in your life. I can hear the round of applause."
She could see Rafe's eyes narrow in frustration but he kept the fake smile on his face as he twisted the girl back around in the direction she was about to go in before this whole ordeal.
"Yeah, come on!" Topper joined in on the fun as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders in a friendly gesture but Robin knew that he was just taunting her. "We haven't seen you since the last party, like two weeks ago."
Robin glared at him, wishing that he saw her thoughts of wanting to murder him in the most gruesome way possible, but then her eyes wandered to the hopeful look in Sarah's eyes.
The curly haired girl let out a sigh of anger as she looked ahead of her with a frown on her lips.
"Fine."
It was already mid-day when Sarah finally finished her own shopping spree. Robin had never been so annoyed at anything before than being around the three kooks, who seemed to be everywhere, while they continued to mock her for hours. She also wanted to stab her eyes out at the sight of a sappy Topper. It made her want to vomit.
Robin said her goodbye to Sarah, finally, after visiting almost ten shops for this and that and this and that. She didn't bother to say anything to the others, the only way she regarded them was brushing past them, knocking her shoulder into them.
Also giving them her middle finger after the blonde girl turned away.
This was not the calming day for herself that she had planned. This was more like a nightmare that she couldn't wake up from. Robin already examined all the knives and things that could work as weapons in one of the shops while glaring at them. She hoped they realised that if they step one foot out of line she would murder them.
Now, finally having some peace and quiet, she was walking along the roads of Kildare. She had her playlist on so she could listen to some music even though she had no headphones with her at the moment.
As she passed the many houses, shops and crossroads her eyes caught a small board full of posters and such.
There she was. Smiling in her tennis attire with her parents on either side of her. It was a poster that her aunt and uncle did for a party that they held last year after she won the championship.
A somber expression took over her face as she continued staring at it. What she would give to see them again. Unless she saw their bodies she wouldn't believe that they were dead, but she knew that it was impossible because where the hell were they anyways. Nobody knew, so how would she, a teenager who wasn't even out of school yet, find her parents.
There was no chance.
Robin stared at the picture before reaching out and tearing it down. She crumpled it up into a ball and threw it into the nearest bin and she kept on walking.
After what seemed like forever she managed to arrive back at the Chateau. John B's van still wasn't back so she guessed that he went off somewhere or the talk did not go well. She found that it was probably the latter.
Robin strode up the porch stairs and threw her bags onto the counter in the kitchen. JJ, Kiara and Pope all watched silently from their spot on the couch as the girl seemed to be taking out her frustration on the poor food items. One thing that never went well together was Robin being left alone with her thoughts when many things were making her annoyed. Today that being the blonde boy and the girl, needing to spend hours with the powerpuff girls and being frustrated about the mystery regarding her parents.
The three pouges glanced at each other before JJ sat up straight the watch Robin throw the marshmallows and chocolate into a cupboard. "You okay, Robbie?"
"Yes, of course, why wouldn't I be?" Robin replied with a smile as she held the bag of potatos in her hand which she threw to the side.
"Yeah... that didn't seem too honest." Pope muttered as he examined the expression that his friend wore.
Kiara sat in silence as she counted down in her head from ten. She knew her cousin too well to know that she would erupt in a second. She was right.
"You know what! No. I am not okay, I am annoyed and frustrated." Robin exclaimed as she leaned against the counter. "I had to spend hours with the team of kook kooks, not like I had a choice at all. Then, I am annoyed at this whole situation with my parents! And I am also angry for some unknown reason at las--"
Robin quickly stopped herself as she realised what she was about to say. She huffed in annoyance as she looked at the three pairs of eyes who were already used to her random bursts of thoughts.
The girl grabbed the chocolate bars, marshmallows and crackers before holding them up to show it to her friends. "Smores tonight?"
"Fuck yeah!" JJ jumped up excitedly as he went to envelope the girl in a random hug. "I could just kiss you right now."
Robin stopped in her tracks in surprise and she looked at the blonde with wide eyes. "What--"
"Not literally." The blonde replied as he ruffled the girls hair before grabbing the marshmallows and kissing the packet a few times. "You always come up with the best ideas. Smores, my love!"
The girl nodded putting on her best facade. "Yeah, I'd hope not literally."
Little did they both know that they both lied.
"Wait, hold on!" Kiara exclaimed from her seat. "The team of kooks? As in Rafe and such?"
Robin nodded as she rolled her eyes. "Unfortunately. I never wanted to kill myself more than then."
"What were they even doing?" Pope asked in confusion.
"No clue, preparing for the hurricane tomorrow, I guess."
"But why would they drag you with?"
"They like tormenting us, do they not."
Robin was thankful that the questioning came to an end when they heard the Twinkie stop by its usual spot by the tree. The three perked up and one by one went out to greet John B who looked like he was a little kid who was just told that he would not get the toy he wanted for Christmas.
The three gulped, not knowing what to say, so Robin and JJ held up the ingredients for the smores. "Campfire tonight?"
John B immediately smiled and agreed to the idea. So that's what they did.
The group waited until the sun started setting so they could go out to the beach. They gathered some wood from the backyard of the Chateau and after they packed everything inside the Twinkie they hit the road to the spot they always went to.
It was the day before the hurricane was supposed to hit so when they arrived they saw a few more people just enjoying the night.
The pouges set down their wood and after arguing about who should light the fire, Pope decided to end the debate as he sneakily lit it himself. There they sat for hours just talking, laughing and making smores. Pope sat on a log, Kiara was smart and brought a blanket for her and her cousin to sit on while John B and JJ just sat on the sand.
JJ looked around before leaning closer to Robin who sat beside him. "So... how was it?"
"How was what?" The girl asked back in the same hushed tone.
"You know, last night."
"The fuck are you talking about?" Robin looked at him in confusion.
JJ scratched the back of his neck as he did a motion with his hands that made the girl understand immediately.
"No, I am not answering that!"
"What, was he that bad?" The blonde snickered.
Robin looked at him incredulously. "You're not getting an answer from me, JJ, don't even try."
"Just asking!" He exclaimed holding his arms up in surrender. "Who even was he?"
"Austin."
"Such an american name. Is he from Texas atleast?" JJ chuckled at his nonsense. "Imagine being from Austin in Texas and being called Austin and having a southern accent."
"He's from here, he lives on the mainland." Robin replied as she rolled her eyes.
JJ, feeling a tightness in his chest, scoffed as he looked at her with bitterness. "So what, are you two best mates now?"
"How was your night then, huh?" Robin asked back as she crossed her arms at the thought.
JJ sighed in mock contempt as he looked up to the sky. "Oh, you know, it was fun. Had the time of my life actually, especially when--"
Robin stuffed a smore into his face to stop him from finishing the sentence and made a gagging noise. "I think I heard enough."
The blonde gave a muffled reply but Robin turned away to face the sea. She saw John B sitting by a tree just staring into nothingness. The boy moved away a little while ago to be with his thoughts. The curly haired girl told the other three that she would be back in a few minutes as she stood up and walked over to her friend.
John B sat in silence as he picked at the skin on his fingers. The waves crashing to shore, the chirps of the crickets and the laughter gave a nice ambience. He was sat there just thinking about when it all went wrong. He missed his father dearly and now that they were up his ass with this foster care thing he just wanted to dissappear too.
"Can I join you?"
John B looked up only to see Robin standing there with a small smile that seemed to have more of a somber hint to it.
"Sure." He replied and the girl sat down beside him.
Robin tucked her arms under her knees as she pulled them to her chest. "I take it that the meeting didn't go well?"
"They are coming tomorrow to talk to my uncle T." John B muttered as he sighed. "He probably doesn't even know I exist."
"What did you tell them? Did they ask if he was at home or anything?" The girl asked as her face contorted into concern.
"I lied and told them that he was here."
"Shit..."
John B took in a long breath before exhaling. "What am I supposed to do, Robin? They are threatening me with foster care."
"We'll figure something out, JB. You have us, we will always help you, don't forget that."
"I know."
The two sat in silence, just enjoying the others presence. They were happy that atleast one person understood them completely. They both had that false sense of hope guiding them these past months.
"Thank you." The boys voice broke the silence.
Robin furrowed her eyebrows as she looked over to him. "For what?"
"For always checking in on me." John B said as he started to pull out the grass from the sand. "I know I was an ass and didn't reply all the time but it meant a lot that you were always texting me every week."
"It's what friends do." The girl smiled as she shivered from the coldness of the air.
Robin groaned as she tossed and turned on her bed in boredom. It was already the next day and she was dying from not being able to do anything. The hurricane was supposed to hit this afternoon and everyone was preparing their homes for any potential damage it may cause. The whole day she was hearing the sirens going off which by now became a horrible, annoying background noise.
Her aunt and uncle already had the two girls help this morning around the house to bring in anything from the outside. They spent hours cleaning up the backyard and the dock. After that they went to the Wreck to do the same thing, but Robin stayed back at the house since they trusted her with a few more errands around the home.
Robin however was very fast when she wanted to finish something so she was done way before any of them came back.
She already watched a few episodes of a random series before getting bored and doing something else. The girl then started to rearrange her room but grew tired of that too. So now she was laying on her mattress in a starfish position.
If only there was something that would be able to free her from this madness.
Then, as if the gods answered her prayers she heard her phone ding with a notification. She patted along her bed to find her phone, not even bothering to look to see where it was, and opened it once she managed to grab it.
Robin grinned in giddiness as she immediately hopped up. The girl looked out the window and saw the sky starting to turn dark and the wind was also beginning to pick up. It was the perfect opportunity to do something crazy.
She grabbed a random bikini and grabbed some shorts and a button up shirt to put over it. After tying her hair into a bun she rushed outside to her bike before quickly texting her aunt that she had to go help John B with preparing for the hurricane urgently. Anna replied a few seconds later and after a small banter she allowed her niece to go help but she wanted her home before the storm would hit. Robin grinned in triumph and texted Kiara separately so that she could cover for her.
The curly haired girl took off towards the Chateau in a hurry, already feeling the wind rush past her body as she cycled towards the Cut.
The adrenaline helped her quite well since she arrived to the wooden home quickly. She placed her bike into the shed so it would he out of harms way before walking over to the Twinkie where an excited John B and a worried Pope stood with the surf boards.
"I have arrived!" The girl yelled over the wind.
John B raised his arm as a signal of a wave, the smile never leaving his face. "Hey, Robbie! You came just in time."
"I don't think this is a good idea, guys." Pope started as they sat into the van. "Something could easily go wrong."
"You still came!" The brown haired boy in the drivers seat chuckled.
"Touché." Pope said as he pursed his lips.
John B drove down the familiar streets in a hurry. With the roads being mostly empty they could get to the beach much faster than usually. Robin continued to look outside as the rain started to fall and it just got heavier by the second.
"Here come the hurricane, bitch." Robin stated with an excited grin on her lips.
The small group within the group arrived to the beach where they usually surfed at and John B wasted no time in parking the Twinkie and jumping out. While the two boys grabbed their surfboards Robin quickly got her cover ups off the reveal her bikini.
Pope handed her her board and the three started to trudge through the wet sand towards the lane leading to the water. The wind was howling and it made the rain fall almost horizontally to the ground and it continued to fall straight into their faces.
"This is such a bad idea!" Pope continued to complain as they stared at the raging waves of the ocean.
John B continued smiling even though he could not see. "It's an amazing idea!"
"I don't want to die today, bro!"
"Atleast you'll die in a cool way." Robin replied as they rushed past the sand dunes.
Thunder sounded from above them and all around which gave an even more exciting feel to the plan. Pope however got even more uneasy at the fact that there was lightning and that they were about to go into water. The last place someone should be in during a storm.
"It's a double overhead out there!" John B yelled to them as they stopped atop of a dune.
"A double overhead?" Pope asked back as he too halted beside his two friends.
The three of them stared ahead, past the 'beach closed' sign that they were completely ignoring. Robin kept pushing her loose hair out of her face which was continuing to stick to her face due to the heavy rain.
Pope gulped as he turned to the two smiling pouges with his face scrunched up in concern. "Those aren't surfable waves, guys!"
John B giggling like a child before patting the boy on the shoulder. "Says who?"
The boy then took off running towards the raging ocean while Robin just stood there with Pope looking like he was about to shit his swimming trunks.
"Race you to it!" Robin yelled as she also started running after John B.
"We're going to die!" She heard the boy shout from behind her but regardless he also followed.
The three of them managed to get on their boards and paddle out into the water. Robin was enjoying the rush of adrenaline mixed with a bit of fear as she tried to surf a wave but failed miserably as she fell off right after she stood up. John B had the same problem as he almost did a new trick as he fell which made Robin cackle as she swam to grab her board.
Pope surfed one wave before having enough and swimming back to the shore. Meanwhile the two other friends continued to try and try to surf atleast one wave. They were failing at every opportunity until Robin managed to stay on her board for one single wave before falling off as it bended over her head.
The girl emerged from the water with a grin before sitting back onto her board. She saw John B on his own surfboard staring into the open sea so she swam over to him as best as she could.
She was about to ask what he was looking at before following his gaze. Her own eyes widened, as if not believing what she was seeing. There, between the huge angry waves, was a small boat trying to escape through the storm. Robin rubbed her eyes to wipe away the rain and to see if she was halucinating or not but it was still there.
Robin turned to John B who also looked at her with a confused expression. They both turned back to the boat but once they saw it go up a wave it went back down the other side and they didn't see it again.
