Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β Β  β€” SKYLER WALKED DOWN THE STAIRS WITH A YAWN AND A STRETCH,
only to pause at the bottom of the stairs when she saw her two brothers stood together, talking β€” without killing each other. She blinked, once, twice, then rubbed her eyes as though she was imagining it. When she found she was not in fact still asleep, she slowly continued down the stairs.

"Hello...?" She said in a questioning, confused tone.

Stefan and Damon turned to her, hesitation on Stefan's face showing clear as day, while Damon looked curious. "What are you two doing?"she asked as she took a step forward.

"Nothing."

"Going to meet Stefan's little friends."

Damon and Stefan responded in unison, Stefan attempting to hide his actions while Damon was as blunt as always.

Skyler nodded slowly as though processing their responses, still too tired for her brain to work properly. She made her way to the kitchen, and began to wander from cupboard to cupboard until she found what she was looking for. She grabbed a cup from the cupboard before she turned back to them, "Is there coffee?" She asked tiredly.

Damon pointed her in the direction of the coffee pot in the corner of the kitchen counter while Stefan made his way out the front door. Skyler walked over to the coffee pot and turned it on after making sure it was ready for brewing. When she turned back around to face her brother, she found Damon gone as well. She shook her head and looked around cautiously before she pulled out her phone from her pocket before sending a message to Kol while she waited for her coffee, and by the time her mug was full, she received a response.

Skyler
Good morning, I'm missing my coffee
And my koala cuddles

Kol
Good morning darling, I'm missing my Skygem
How's Virginia?

Skyler
Hell
It's almost nice to see my brothers again but it is weird

Kol
Have you met the doppelgΓ€nger yet?

Skyler
Unfortunately

She hit send and set her phone down as she grabbed her coffee, she added sugar and then a bag of blood before stirring it and chugging the coffee. Once she was done, she decided it was time she met her brother's friends as well, if only to get closer and earn their trust so this hellish mission could be done.

She set her empty coffee cup in the sink and made her way upstairs as she wiped a spot of blood from her lips with a grin.

The bell above the door to the Mystic Grill jingled as the youngest Salvatore walked in dressed in a comfortable T shirt, black jeans and a leather jacket that reminded those who knew the Salvatore's of the one Damon wore.

She surveyed the grill and met eyes with her brother, with a grin she made her way to the bar where she ordered a glass of her favorite liquor and eyed Damon who sat with Alaric at the other end of the bar before she walked over to the table her brother and his friends sat.

"Well hello there." She smirked.

Stefan sighed, "Skyler."

"Who?" A dark skinned teen asked from across Elena who looked at her and whispered.

"That's Skyler, Stefan's twin. She just came to town."

The teens at the table, the dark skinned teen, a blonde teenage girl that sat next to her, and a teenage boy with dark hair and tan skin whom she immediately clocked as a jerk.

She eyes the dark skinned teen, as she had suspicions that the girl was a Bennet, she fared a striking resemblance to Emily Bennet, Katherine's old friend. She looked between the witch and the DoppelgΓ€nger, history truly was repeating itself.

The jerk β€” ehem jock β€” spoke up with more confidence than the girls seemed to have right away, "Are you going to school."

Skyler scoffed and spoke as Stefan started to shake his head, "Please, you won't catch me dead in public school." She scrunched her nose.

Stefan spoke up, so she didn't blow his cover as a teen she supposed, "Skyler graduated early, before I moved here. She's been traveling around, and I guess this is her latest stop."

"Who wants to go to Mystic Falls?" The blonde chimed in. "I mean there's nothing to do here."

Skyler snorted, "Not me." She said, "I'm just here to see these idiots and rest for a while."

Stefan seemed shocked at her response, whether it was because she openly said she wanted to see him, or because she was staying for a while she wasn't sure. Before anyone at the table could speak again, the bartender called her name and she thanked him before going to the end of the bar where her eldest brother sat.

"Stefan's friends are... interesting." She commented as she sunk into the seat beside her brother with her glass.

Damon snorted and took a sip of his drink β€” bourbon, of course β€” before he spoke, "You can say that again."

Skyler smiled, easing into a comfortable silence between the siblings. Things between her eldest brother and herself had always been easier than with her twin, she supposed it was because she was more like Damon, than Stefan, who's always had various differing opinions and just general personality from the both of them. Still, even after all these years away, she cared for both of them, no matter how strained their relationship is, they were her brothers and in some form or another, she knew she'd always care for them.

Her mind wandered, however it came back to the reason she was in town and she narrowed her eyes into her glass.

Unfortunately for them, her bond with her husband was far greater than they could ever imagine. Their bond was quite literally fated to be, and nothing, not even her bond with her brothers could compare.

She looked over at her twin, who sat laughing with his friends, his arm around the doppelgΓ€nger. She averted her eyes as the Bennet turned to look at her, and finished her drink before she stood and made her way out of the grill.

She knew what she had to do, even if it ended up hurting her in the long run. She had to help Klaus, she had to help her husband.

No matter how much she missed her brothers.

Skyler
I miss you, this is... harder than I expected

Kol
I know darling. I've been looking at houses with Rebekah, Klaus doesn't know yet.

Skyler
I hope you find something, I hate being far from you.
And even your siblings

Kol
I hate it too.
I can tell they miss you, especially Klaus but he will never admit it.

Skyler snorted, shaking her head at Klaus's antics. She went to respond, typing in a few words before she heard a voice behind her.

"You left the grill pretty quick."

She jumped, shutting her phone before she looked at her twin.

"Maybe I didn't want to hang around while you and your friends had a good time." She retorted, urging bitterness into her voice as though she was jealous of him for having friends.

Stefan sighed from his position leaned against the doorframe, "who were you messaging?"

"An... associate."

"Associate?"

She sighed, looking away, "Someone who's been helping me keep an eye out for Katherine. They owe me a favor."

At Stefan's curious and almost fearful look, she continued, "They told me about your doppelgΓ€nger girlfriend, not anything we didn't already know."

"They know about Elena?"

"They know about Katherine." She corrected, "Nobody but us know they're different people, and it needs to stay that way."

Stefan nodded in agreement, they both know Katherine has many enemies.

Skyler narrowed her eyes then, "I will tell you now, if Katherine shows up, or if Elena ends up anything like her, I will show no mercy."
