Ali was devastated; his family fell apart. He was suddenly almost an orphan. His father died; his brother and mother were somewhere he doesn't know, but most importantly, his sisterโthe sister he loved so muchโgave him the most painful memory to remember her with. He was completely shattered, but somehow, he overcame the bad phase of his life. In the bad time, his wife and taya abbu and ammi didn't leave him. Everyone was there with him. It was now almost 1 and a half years since his wedding. They were going to become parents now.
He remembered he got the news after some months Rubaab left for Germany. He cried because he was so happy. He was going to be a father, and the feeling itself brought butterflies to his stomach. He already loved Rimsha a lot, but suddenly he felt that, as she's going to give birth to a part of him, more respect and love were added. They all were happy. Rubaab too got the news, and she was so disheartened when she couldn't come to see her baby bump.
But the most thrilling and happiest thing was when Rimsha was a month or two along. Alia too witnessed the same symptoms in herself again that she felt in her first pregnancy. She was pregnant too along with Rimsha. But she was scared. What will happen, and how will she manage?
Her first pregnancy brought a fear present in everyone's heartโthe two pregnant women were loved and protected unconditionally. They all took care of each other, and now they had one more responsibility. Haseena and Rania were the biggest help; Rimsha and Alia, both were experiencing pregnancy pains, but they were glad that they had Haseena and Rania, even their husbands, but they didn't know how to make pickles and bread at night! Weird!
It has been 8 months or so when they all were shocked to see Arsalan, who was once lying in bed, suddenly sitting. He looked as fresh as he looked on normal days. Karim and Haseena couldn't express the feeling, and they burst out crying. They were in the lawn when the appointed nanny of Arsalan came running, saying he saw Arsalan moving.
The doctor was called at the instant, and it was indeed true because before the doctor could come, Arsalan got in his senses. Arsalan opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was his mother sitting beside him, crying while muttering some prayers. Arsalan had gone into a long-term coma. The doctor confirmed that even though it was an accident that sent him into a coma.
Most people came out in some weeks, but in Arsalan's case, it took him more than weeks and months. He decided to see the world after 2 years and 8 months! But they all were happy. Arsalan asked about Rubaab. He was angry when he got to know she was alone in another country. There was no one taking care of her. Yes, he felt bad that the first person to greet him with hugs and love wasn't his wife, but he knew better than to act like a baby. Karim Shah wanted to tell him the reason they sent Rubaab to Germany, but Haseena spoke, "Beta uski parhai ka harj horaha tha. Han hum use yahan parhalete lekin wo tumhare pass bethe rehti thi poora poora din. Wo uthti hi nahi thi." He sighed before looking at Faizan. "Tune bhi jaane dia?" on which Faizan laughed and said, "Acha hai jaane dia. Warna jitna wo roti thi na.. tere uthne se pehle pagal hojati." He laughed along with others. "Or tu nahi rota tha???" Arsalan said in a teasing voice to his twin, who made a disgusting face and said, "Bitch no." And the typical siblings were back.
(beta her studies was getting affected, we had to do what we did)
(And you let her leave alone?)
(Its good that she did otherwise, she would've gotten mad crying)
(And you never cried?)
Adil, standing near him, smacked him on the head, making him whine, "Chachuuu." Arsalan was thrilled with the idea of playing with the baby of Ali and Faizan. He didn't know that waking up would take him so long. He sighed once again and asked his father, "Let Rubaab come back. And I won't let her go again... Abbu usko batana nahi k wo wapis kyun arahi hai, okay?" Karim Shah nodded.
(And dont tell her why she is coming back okay)
Arsalan was impatiently waiting for Rubaab outside the airport. He was there earlier than the time of her flight. He was so impatient to meet her; he had been a lot away from her but not anymore. Beside him was his twin, who was sitting calmly going through his phone while on the other hand, Arsalan felt like passing out. Suddenly, they heard the announcement of the flight landing, in which Rubaab was.
He was on his feet, tapping them impatiently. His patience was running low. After what felt like a year, the people started coming out. His eyes only searched for her, her black hairs, or maybe some sign of her; his vision was met with the sight of the girl. That was so different from his Rubaab.
There was a girl walking while rummaging through her purse. It was Rubaab indeed, but seeing her after years felt like blessings to his eyes. She still hasn't seen him. Stood on the entrance was a girl, that wasn't nineteen years old, scared and timid Rubaab but a twenty-two years old lady that emitted confidence and arrogance with every step she took.
Living alone has made her appearance and her nature changed so much, that she was a whole different person now. She was slim and smart; her facial expressions screamed maturity! Suddenly she looked up feeling gaze, and her eyes were met with Arsalan's awaiting orbs. The dark brown clashed with pitch black. Everything stopped around her, including her breath.
She couldn't believe what she was seeing; was it her Arsalan or some other look-alike? Her eyes were filled with unshed tears. She was in denial; Arsalan's eyes were too wet, and he wanted to cry. Rubaab broke out in sobs and then continued. Faizan was standing beside him, giving her a head nod. Confirming her that he's here. He's Arsalan's here! Arsalan of Rubaab!
She was crying but still went ahead, suddenly running towards him; she threw her arms around Arsalan, hugging him like her life was depending on it. Not caring about the surrounding, Arsalan too wrapped his arms around her. Lifting her in the air.
Even though it was an airport, nobody stopped them, too stunned to see a grown-up man crying in the arms of a little girl, he was crying too. Arsalan wasn't the 25 years old now but a 29 years old man.
That got the attention of any passerby's. Their cries were painful; there were no talking, not any other things involved but seeing them. They could feel their chest tightening. They looked so broken that it brought tears to the eyes of Faizan.
Arsalan and Rubaab, let their emotion say everything, pulling just a little away. Rubaab gave a hard slap on his chest. Eyes still wet and lips pouty, she complained, "A-ap k-kyun n-nahi uthe.. m-maine apko bhot miss kia... Or ...apne mujhe bataya kyunnn nahi?"
(Why didn't you woke up? I missed you alot, why didn't you tell me)
Arsalan wiped her tears away and said, "Maine bhi apko bhottt miss kia... O-or agar bata deta to itna acha surprise kese milta," making Rubaab cry again on his chest... "Acha ab ghar chal kar or mil lena... Abhi chalen...or chalo Rubaab. Let's see the baby bump."
(I missed you too and how would I have given you surprise if I had already told you?)
(Okay lets go home and meet, come on)
Life can really be unpredictable sometimes; coming back home felt so different to Rubaab. Everyone was so in awe seeing her different aura. The aura that carried power and elegancy. Arsalan waking up was the most happiest and blessed thing that happened to Rubaab after years. She hasn't expected to see him. She always prayed for him. She cried for him and now he was back... She finally felt completed.
Arsalan was in tears listening to what happened with his Chachu and with his wife in his absence. He felt bad for Saima, but somehow he was happy that they weren't with them or he wouldn't have thought before ending Rizwan.
He understands his parent's decision about his wife, and he was glad seeing her strong and powerful. She has changed but he knew she was nothing but still the softie Rubaab...
They were lying on the bed, after their Rukhsati! His family talked about getting them rukhsat, on which Rubaab blushed like a new bride. He was proud seeing her happy and content. His arms were around her waist while her head was on his chest. They had finally stopped crying in each other's arms. "Arsalan?" he heard her speak slowly. Arsalan hummed, eyes still closed but attention on her.
"A-ap mujhe wapas to nahi chorenge na.... Pehle bardasht karlia tha is asre mai k ap wapas aenge... Lekin age agar aisa hua to mai marjaungi Arsalan....itni himmat nahi hai mujhme!" Arsalan opened his eyes.
(You won't go back na? I endured it before, knowing that you would return. But if it happens again, I will die, Arsalan. I don't have that much courage within me.)
He looked at her before turning their position. Making her get under him. "Rubaab meri jan.. mai ab mar kar bhi tumse door Jane ka nahi soch sakta... Mai nahi chahta mai tumhare baghair aik lamha rahun... Jan ho tum meri... Hamesha rahogi..." She sniffled once again.
(Rubaab, my love... Even if I die, I can't bear the thought of being away from you now. I don't want to spend a moment without you. You are my life, and you will always be.))
Smiling, he leaned closer, his eyes shifting from her lips to her eyes. Asking for permission which she granted. He leaned in and put his lips on hers, taking her lips slowly in between his. He kissed her with the passion and love. All those years she deprived to see him were now explained in the kiss. It was earth-shattering for her. She felt breathless having the similar sensation around her once again.
Arsalan could feel him getting hyped up, not wanting to scare her off, he pulled back but stopped when Rubaab muttered a soft please with a small moan that almost sounded like a whimper. He looked at her shocked "D-dont h-hold backk," he gulped; he said, "Rubaab meri jan... abhi to rukhsati Hui hai.. don't you wanna wait and talk" he so wanted to say he didn't mean those..
(We just got married)
"N-no.. please," her demanding yet begging eyes and tone were giving him the desirable feeling that he couldn't stop himself and lose himself with the pleasure slowly.
That night the couple joined in the pleasurable way of intimacy; they were tangled up under the blanket. It was the step they had waited for! It was intimacy that made them closer to each other, the intimate relation!
They both slept in each other's arms, content to be united again. They had gone through a lot in their journey. They had seen the most painful and happiest moments of their lives. They were together and would be together always. Everyone has the life, where they struggle but after every struggle, there is the sweet way of happy ending.
The poignant tale of a once innocent maiden and her gallant savior, bound by love and adversity, has gracefully reached its profound conclusion.
