Twenty-Sixth
:Chapter Twenty-Six:

ย  ย ย  Taehyung was honestly getting sick of hearing his name being called by Hoseok after the end of practice. He couldn't take another minute of checking up on Newbie.

He threw his head back and groaned, turning to look back at Hoseok who seemed a bit too cheerful.

"I'm not going to his house, fuck off." Taehyung shook his head, walking away from Hoseok before he could ask the forbidden question.

"Guess Jihyun didn't give you that gobble gobble three-thousand last night." Hoseok mocked, seeing Taehyung turn to glare at his hyung with a look of disappointment. "Anyways," the elder continued. "I wasn't going to ask you to check on him today, I sent Namjoon over."

"Oh," Taehyung let out of a soft hum, slightly nodding. "Then what do you want?" He inquired as they began to walk up the steps, getting closer to the corridors.

"You really need to get laid if this is going to be your attitude." Hoseok said. "Changmin messaged me, he wants to hangout today."

"Really?" Taehyung was surprised. "Are you just telling me or does he want to hang out with the both of us?"

"Use that peanut-sized brain of yours, Taehyung, and you tell me what you think it is." Hoseok commented, walking and holding the door open for his friend who thanked him, waiting for him to get in himself.

Taehyung knew it was a dumb question after he asked it but Hoseok was being so mean now. It was obvious it was all playful so none of it was taken to heart.

But, so the readers weren't left hanging, Changmin was the one player on the opposing team their very first game - the one Jeongguk blamed Taehyung for cheating on.

He was one of the people who played for the Panthers, before Taehyung joined. He was a newcomer much like Hoseok but the two only really started talking their second year, when Taehyung was the newbie.

It gradually grew their relationship and built a great friendship up until last year.

Changmin's family decided to move for business which caused the boy to change schools. Luckily, he got to play one last season for the Panthers before he moved.

The trio were a great group of friends, even Namjoon liked him but those two weren't nearly as close as Hoseok and Taehyung were to Changmin.

So, with all that being mentioned, Hoseok and Taehyung were quite excited to be able to go out and hang with their friend, Changmin.

After the game, they've been talking here and there, trying to make plans but everyone was so busy until today.

ย  ย ย  On the other hand, Namjoon knocked on Jeongguk's door but he wasn't alone. Jimin was accompanying him to greet the injured baseball star.

There was footsteps approaching the door but there seemed to be a halt, a sign of hesitation to pull the door open.

Namjoon and Jimin shared a look to one another, both expressing confusion for why they both clearly heard someone and yet the door was still not opened.

"Maybe he's busy." Commented Jimin with a small shrug.

"With what? Resting in bed?" Namjoon mocked, pulling his fist up and knocking again on the door.

The footsteps continued and this time, the door was opened, revealing a surprised Jeongguk.

"Oh, it's you two." He hummed, appearing to be pleased with who he saw. "You guys can come in." Jeongguk told, walking away from the door so the two could pile in.

This wasn't the first time they've been to Jeongguk's house. They visited the very first time with Hoseok and each came separately one time before Taehyung's unwelcome visit.

After that, both were sometimes busy with their own lives. Thankfully, they both were good for today and could stop by to check on their friend.

"Are you getting sick of Hoseok hyung?" Jimin wondered, finding his way beside Jeongguk who was already sat down, remote in hand.

"No, I love seeing Hoseok hyung come by, it's just recently, he's been having Kim stop by which is annoying. He was just here yesterday." Jeongguk informed, not thinking much of his words.

"Taehyung?" Namjoon questioned, a frown playing his luscious lips. He sat on the other side of Jeongguk who was seated in the middle.

"Mhmm," hummed the youngest of the trio.

"Wow, really? Are you guys getting better?" Jimin asked, taking the remote from Jeongguk and scrolling through the listing of channels. Jimin saw the dozens of TV shows and movies, none of which seemed interesting to him considering how he just continued past it.

"Obviously not if I almost didn't let you two in because I thought it was him." Jeongguk said, shaking his head. "And I just told you I was annoyed of Hoseok sending him here to check on me."

"Why doesn't he send us?" Namjoon inquired, brow cocked.

That's when Jeongguk looked over at Namjoon with a dumbfounded look. "What do you mean why doesn't he send you? You guys are always busy." Jeongguk answered. "Hoseok hyung told me he's asked you guys multiple times but you guys were always too busy."

Namjoon and Jimin looked at one another before turning their attention to Jeongguk. "Hoseok's never asked me to come see you." Namjoon was first to say.

"Yeah, me neither." Jimin added to Namjoon's statement, seeming just as confused.

"Wait a damn minute," Jeongguk sat up, lips parted as he tried to think of his next words. "You mean to tell me that Hoseok sent Kim here to be a dick?" He looked between his two older friends who nodded collectively. "You got to be fucking with me."

"I guess so," Jimin said. "But Hoseok literally has never asked me once to come here to check on you."

"So you guys don't come either?" Jeongguk crossed his arms across his chest. "How is my enemy more of a friend than you fools are? Unreal."

Namjoon shook his head. "Sometimes we genuinely are busy, Jeongguk, but we were just telling you that Hoseok hyung has never asked us."

"Mhmm, whatever." Jeongguk was joking about the friend thing but he couldn't believe that Hoseok was sending Kim just to irritate them both.

But, deep down, Jeongguk had to admit that it was smart. Hoseok was forcing the both of them to hang out without even knowing it.

But that didn't mean Jeongguk wasn't pissed off and wasn't going to say anything about it. It just wasn't in his character to let that go without a bite back.

"Was it really all that bad though? I'm sure you two didn't fist fight in your living room." Namjoon mentioned, eyes traveling to the TV to see what Jimin finally landed on. It was a famous, well-known show, 'Friends', something Namjoon always enjoyed watching.

It was the episode when Ross said one of his most iconic lines, 'we were on a break'.

Jeongguk huffed. "I mean, I guess not but I still would've beat him, throbbing headache or not." He crossed his arms over his chest and pouted like a child, brows pulled in.

"Sure, yeah," Jimin chuckled. "We know you would, Jeongguk. Our strong bunny." He nudged the younger who rolled his eyes at the childishly remarks.

"Bunnies aren't strong. They run at the snap of a stick." Jeongguk side-eyed his hyung who held a never ending smile.

"Expect for you! You're a strong bunny who can fight in any condition." Jimin assured - and before any friendship-hating cowards hates on this scene, they're just friends.

ย  ย ย  "Oh, I almost forgot!" Namjoon startled the other two out of their conversation, both turning their heads to look at the eldest. "Hoseok wants to go out for dinner with all of us, to celebrate."

"Celebrate what exactly?" Jeongguk wondered.

"Well, the win." Namjoon answered.

The youngest was silent for a moment but opened his mouth after thinking. "To celebrate Kim, yeah? Because he filled the position and did a good job, right?" It was degrading but Jeongguk understood it, Taehyung didn't do horrible and if it weren't for him, they may have lost. He played even though he was getting hurt. Jeongguk knew Kim deserved it.

"Yeah, partly but for you too. He said he wants you to come along for having a smooth recovery. Hyung said you were mature about it and he appreciates it." Namjoon softly told, having a sympathetic look on his features.

"Who's all of us?" Jimin asked. "Would Jihyun be there too?"

"Yeah, she'll be there, me, you, Jeongguk, Taehyung, and he said something about inviting Yoongi and Seokjin as well." Namjoon's lips turned into a sweet smile. "Just a nice dinner with Taehyung and Jeongguk as far away from one another so no drinks are spilled."

Jimin laughed at that one, remembering the day like it was yesterday. However, Jeongguk didn't appreciate the giggles, glaring at the shorter boy who's laugh toned down into awkward coughs.

"Anyways . . ." Namjoon moved on. "Hoseok wants to go out on Friday."

"So in two days? This Friday or next?" Jeongguk asked, attitude gone by now. He didn't hold onto small things and it was a joke most of the time anyways.

"This Friday." Namjoon nodded and turned his attention back to the TV.

"I'll probably just take you and pick Yoongi and Seokjin hyung." Jimin answered.

"You drive?" Namjoon inquired, brow cocked but still focused on the TV, watching as the rest of the Friends had their ears pressed up against the door to hear what Ross and Rachel were saying.

"Yeah, just not often." Jimin told. "I'm pretty good but it's a waste of gas driving back and forth to school and home. I either walk or Hoseok hyung offers me rides."

"Man, I really need to get my license." Jeongguk looked down at his lap, pout relevant. "I have to stop relying on everyone else to drive me places."
