Fifth
:Chapter Five:

Lunch had arrived, finally. STEM seemed a bit longer than usual to Taehyung and he dreaded every never ending second that seemed to take hours just to pass by.

Had he mentioned his hate for science? It definitely wasn't up his alley. Taehyung wasn't too fond of math either but he would pick it over science in a heartbeat.

As every other usual day, Taehyung grabbed his lunch and proceeded over his table which Hoseok was already at, like always.

They waited for Namjoon but as they waited, they spoke to one another. For being friends as long as they were, they never ran out of things to say to each other.

It was always fascinating how long the two could talk to each other. Whether it be about baseball, classes, crushes — or in Taehyung's case, Jihyun, his girlfriend — or whatever else was interesting to one another.

The never ending field of conversations only grew once they added Namjoon to the mix. The three of them could honestly talk for days and return with more to say. Impressive, right?

"I can't hang with you after practice today, Jihyun wants to watch a movie with me." Taehyung informed, stuffing the crustless corner of his sandwich into his mouth.

Hoseok processed the words, recalling his conversation the previous day. "Netflix and chill?" He inquired, wiggling his brows at his young friend who didn't dare spare him a glance.

Taehyung instantly regretted telling Hoseok about his planned hangout session with Jihyun. "No, she just wants to watch a movie together. She told me we don't spend too much time together."

"You don't. You guys don't even look remotely close to being a couple, not as much as you and-"

"I'm cut you off right there, Seok." Taehyung held a single digit up, not saying any more because he knew where this conversation was heading. Quite frankly, Taehyung didn't have the brain cells to keep up with Hoseok's fantasy world.

Just as Hoseok was about to say more in protest, Namjoon came around, sitting beside Hoseok per usual. "Sup, boys." He greeted with his dimpled smile, jutting his chin in the process to further his greet.

Taehyung returned the smile, finishing another bite and opening his mouth to start speaking. Unfortunately, Hoseok beat him to who could talk first but Taehyung could say he didn't expect what the elder was planning on saying whatsoever.

"Taehyung wants to fuck Jeongguk." Hoseok blurted, sparing a look over at Taehyung who was already staring at him with an emotionless look plastered on his face. Emotionless but it sure could kill.

"What?" Namjoon frowned. "Where is this coming from exactly?"

Taehyung shook his head. "Hoseok thinks I have a cringy love story going on with Newbie because we don't like one another." He explained briefly. "I don't want to get back into it. He's ridiculous."

"For thinking you could top Jeongguk?!" Namjoon cocked a brow, eyes wide.

"For saying anything but, wait, you don't think I could?" Taehyung asked in disbelief, tilting his head like a confused puppy.

Namjoon shook his head. He then sat back and scanned the cafeteria, looking for the boy they talked about. It took him a bit but he finally pinpointed where he stood, glancing back at Taehyung and Hoseok. Newbie was standing in the lunch line, lips pinched and not worried about what was around him. "You see him?" Namjoon asked.

Hoseok and Taehyung nodded in confusion, sparing one another looks that showed how lost they were.

"Look at his muscular thighs and rippling muscles under his shirt. And then his ass, look how well sculpted it is." Namjoon described. "God took his time when he made him. And to think you thought you had a chance at topping such a fine looking man, ridiculous, Taehyung."

"Are you sure you're straight?" Hoseok inquired, a quizzical look. "I never heard of a straight man describing another man like that. Homo vibes."

"Normalize men complimenting men. And, I can appreciate a good, fine man when I see one and he's one. If I were gay, he would top me. That's saying a lot." Namjoon shrugged and fixed the way he was sitting. "I don't shy away from appreciating the perfectly sculpted male figure, especially not his build." He nodded, happy with what he had to say.

"I just can't believe that I'm actually friends with either of you if I'm being honest." Taehyung quipped, letting out a dramatic sigh. "The universe hates me."

"It's you who decides to stick around, Taehyung, we don't force anything on you." Hoseok commented, rolling his eyes playfully.

This resulted in Taehyung nudging his arm, his smile growing twice its size. It was true, he ultimately picked the two as his friend and stuck around them both until they could deem what they had a friendship.

Due to Namjoon's caring behavior and Hoseok's friendly demeanor, he had no other option but to become their friends.

He didn't regret them whatsoever. He knew Hoseok a year and a half earlier than Namjoon but he cherished each friendship developed.

Before he could dig himself further into the joy he found himself in, his once shining smile fell into a frown once he realized a certain face he wasn't too fond of.

"Jeongguk? Thought you didn't want to sit with us." Namjoon said, turned around and looking at the baseball player he described so profoundly minutes ago.

The aforementioned set his tray of food down, easing himself into a seat. "It's hard to make friends here and you really sold me when you said Hoseok hyung would be here as well." He shrugged. "I hope your offer still stood for me to sit with you."

"Dude, for sure!" Hoseok smiled. "Taehyung here was just saying how-"

"Seok," Taehyung looked at his older friend. "I will beat your ass if you sell your fantasy to him that you created and that you keep talking about."

Hoseok chuckled, rubbing Taehyung's shoulder in comfort. "Hush, Taehyung, we both know your little ass can't beat me." His smile was innocent but his words were threatening in the most playful way possible. "Anyways, Jeongguk," he averted his gaze back over to the youngest who looked purely dumbfounded. "As I was saying, Taehyung here was talking about how he apologizes for his rude behavior."

"What-" Taehyung started, eyes wide.

"Oh yeah, I did want to talk to you about that." Namjoon cut off, glancing at the blond who cocked a brow. "What's with the issue? Jeongguk was wondering why you don't like him."

"No I-" Jeongguk was cut off this time, Hoseok butting in.

"We feel as you both would be great friends!" The elder said, smiling ear-to-ear.

"I don't want to be friends with him. He's a cocky douchebag who brags about his achievements." Taehyung said, watching Hoseok's smile fall into a frown, shoulders slumping.

While Hoseok seemed to be saddened, Jeongguk was going through quite a different emotion. "Cocky? Dude, when have I been cocky towards you? I just got here."

"I'm not your 'dude'," Taehyung gave a scowl, appearing to be disgusted.

Jeongguk's brows eased, wanting to show two could play. "You're right, you're a little bitch instead."

"Guys-" Namjoon tried.

The second youngest's eyes widened, taking actual offense to the insult. "You just seem like a piece of shit, your head so far up your own ass and gathered in your own glory."

"At least I have glory. I fail to see how your hits were the furthest at one point. My baby brother could hit further than you."

"That's enough," Hoseok held his hands up but the two weren't at all finished.

"I'm not hooked up on steroids to look like the Hulk on leg day!" Taehyung quipped, anger pacing his vowels while Jeongguk tried to look unbothered but he looked pretty pissed off too.

"Bitch, you wish you could look like me."

"Yeah right, like I would ever want to look like I'm about to pop a vein."

Jeongguk scoffed. "How do you expect to be a pitcher with noodle arms like that? I could pitch better in my sleep." He challenged, words spitting out hate. He didn't think the two of them would go back and forth like this but again, it was something to make his days interesting.

"That's because you're dreaming!"

"Guys!" Namjoon rose his voice finally. "Both of you, just shut the fuck up!" He looked between the two. "Look, I really don't know what happened within the span of two days and nor do I give two shits. What I do know, however, is whatever petty drama occurred for your boys to act like a bunch of idiots needs to stop. This is so childish."

"He started it." Jeongguk crossed his arms over his chest, not even wanting to eat his now cold food. "I didn't come here to sit with him, I didn't think me sitting here would upset crybaby other there."

"Wow, you're so clever, I feel so offended." Taehyung rolled his eyes. "Did you hit your face off a base when you were younger too? Is that why your nose is twice its size?"

Before Jeongguk could whip out another witty remark to crush Taehyung's comment, Hoseok grabbed onto Taehyung's ear while Namjoon took a hold of Jeongguk's.

Both teenagers winced and whimpered in pain, trying to get their hyungs to release the pinch on the shell of their ear.

"Now, if either one of you say anything to the other or about the other, I personally with shove you boys down a flight of stairs while being tied together." Hoseok warned, nudging Namjoon and releasing the grip they had.

Taehyung and Jeongguk instinctively grabbed their rather red ears, trying to rub away the aching sensation.

"Sorry, Seok and Joon."

"Sorry, hyungs."

Taehyung and Jeongguk apologized in sync to the older teens, not sparing a glance at one another.

"Good! So glad we solved that!" Hoseok's whole vibe changed within milliseconds but the rivals wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Mad Hoseok was a scary Hoseok.
