Two months have passed since the night when Jayden and I first made love. Things between us have been amazing, and I can honestly say that I'm happier than I've ever been.
We've fallen into a comfortable routine, spending most of our free time together and enjoying each other's company.
Yeah, it's off-season, so Jayden's schedule has been more relaxed. Without any games or practices, he's been able to spend more time with me. We've been taking advantage of the free time, going on spontaneous road trips and exploring new places together.
It's been nice to have him all to myself, without the stress of his football schedule hanging over us. We've been able to focus on our relationship and build a stronger bond.
Right now, we're in Croatia, exploring the beautiful coastal towns and soaking up the sun. We spent the day walking along the beach, exploring the local markets, and sampling the delicious cuisine. Now, we're sitting on a terrace, sipping on cocktails and watching the sunset over the sea.
The sun is just beginning to dip below the horizon, casting a warm golden light over the water. The sound of waves lapping against the shore and the soft music of the local band wafting through the air create a romantic atmosphere.
Jayden's arm is around my shoulders, and I'm snuggled against his side, enjoying the feeling of his warmth and the way the setting sun makes his dark skin glow.
"This is perfect," he says, his voice low and content. "You, me, this view. I don't think it could get any better than this."
I smile, leaning my head against his shoulder. "I know what you mean. It's like we're in our own little bubble, immune to the rest of the world and all its problems." "Exactly," he agrees, his fingers tracing soft patterns on my arm. "It's like we're the only people in the world right now. Just you and me."
I hum in agreement, basking in the feeling of contentment and peace that washes over me. We sit like that for a while longer, watching the sun disappear beneath the horizon and the stars begin to twinkle in the sky.
Finally, Jayden glances at his phone, checking the time. "We should probably head back to the villa," he says, reluctantly pulling away from me. "It's getting late."
I nod, a small pang of disappointment in my chest at the thought of leaving this perfect moment. But I know he's right, so I take his hand and let him help me to my feet.
We walk back to the villa hand in hand, our footsteps soft on the cobblestone streets. The night air is cool and crisp, and the sound of crickets and the distant hum of music fills the air.
The night progresses, and we're back at the villa, getting ready for bed. As I'm brushing my teeth, I start to feel a little nauseous. I brush it off at first, attributing it to the seafood we had for dinner, but the feeling doesn't go away.
I crawl into bed, my stomach still feeling a little queasy. Jayden notices my discomfort and gives me a concerned look. "You okay, baby?" he asks, his hand reaching out to rub my back.
I nod, even though I don't really feel okay. "I think I just have a little bit of an upset stomach," I say, trying to downplay it.
We return home from our trip, and I'm still not feeling well. My nausea has gotten worse, and my energy levels are pretty low.
I decide to take a pregnancy test, just to rule out the possibility that I'm pregnant. I go to the bathroom and take the test, waiting anxiously for the results.
The minutes tick by, and my heart is racing as I wait for the results to appear. Finally, the test is done, and I look down at it. My breath catches in my throat as I see the two lines forming on the test.
I'm pregnant..
I sit down heavily on the edge of the bathtub, my mind spinning from the revelation. I'm pregnant. A million thoughts and emotions run through my head all at once.
I can't believe it. I stare down at the test in my hand, the two lines like a sign from the universe. I feel a mixture of excitement, fear, and uncertainty. I have no idea how Jayden will react to this news.
I pick up my phone and send a quick text to Avery. *Hey, can you come over? I need to talk to you about something important.*
A few minutes later, I get a reply from Avery. *Sure, I'm in Washington with Ja'Marr right now anyways, but I can come over. What's going on?"*
*I have to tell you something*, I text back, my fingers shaking slightly. *It's important. Can you come over now?*
A few moments later, Avery responds that she'll be over soon. I put down my phone and take a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves.
Twenty minutes pass, and I hear a knock at the door. I go to open it and find Avery standing on the other side, looking concerned. "Hey, what's going on?" she asks, stepping inside.
I lead her into the living room and gesture for her to sit down. My heart is pounding in my chest as I take a seat across from her on the couch.
"I have something to tell you," I say, my voice trembling slightly. "But you have to promise me that you won't freak out." Avery nods, her expression serious. "I won't freak out. Just tell me what's going on."
I take a deep breath and hand the pregnancy test to Avery.
She looks at it for a moment, and her eyes widen. "Oh my God," she says, her voice soft. "You're pregnant?"
I nod, a mix of emotions swirling in my chest. Avery's eyes are still wide as she looks from the test to me and back again. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah," I say, my throat feeling tight. "I just took it and it's positive. I'm pregnant." Avery looks at me for a long moment, and then she suddenly jumps up from the couch and hugs me tightly. "Oh my God!" she exclaims. "You're going to have a baby! This is amazing!"
I'm still in shock from the positive pregnancy test, and I'm feeling a lot of emotions all at once.
But there's one emotion that's overriding everything else right now - fear. I'm terrified to tell Jayden that I'm pregnant.
I don't know how he'll react to the news. Will he be happy? Upset? Disappointed?
I turn to Avery, suddenly feeling vulnerable and unsure. "I don't know how to tell Jayden," I say, my voice small. "I'm scared he'll be upset or disappointed. What if he's not ready to be a dad?" Avery puts a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "You won't know until you tell him," she says gently.
I shake my head, feeling frustrated and afraid.
"I know that," I say. "But I don't know how to tell him. What do I say? How do I bring it up?" Avery gives me a sympathetic look. "You just have to be honest with him. Tell him how you're feeling and that you found out you're pregnant. Be open and vulnerable."
I nod, taking in her words. I know she's right, but it's much easier said than done. "But what if he's not happy about it?" I ask, my voice low. "What if he doesn't want a baby right now?"
Avery puts her arm around me, giving me a supportive squeeze. "Then you'll cross that bridge when you come to it," she says. "But you can't worry about what might happen in the future. You just have to deal with the present situation and the fact that you're pregnant."
Just as I'm talking with Avery, the front door opens and Jayden walks in with his teammate, Terry. They're both laughing about something, but their conversation comes to an abrupt halt when they see us sitting on the couch.
Avery, who is sitting next to me, quickly grabs the pregnancy test and shoves it into her pocket, trying to act casual.
Jayden looks at us, his eyes narrowing slightly. "What are you guys up to?" he asks, his tone casual but with a hint of suspicion.
I swallow nervously, my heart pounding in my chest. I can feel Jayden's gaze on me, and I know he's waiting for an answer. Avery chimes in before I can speak. "We're just hanging out, talking," she says brightly. "Girl stuff, you know how it is."
Terry laughs, and Jayden gives us a skeptical look. "Yeah, right," he says, his eyes flickering to me. Inside, I'm panicking. I didn't expect Jayden to come home with Terry tonight, and now I'm even more scared to tell him about the pregnancy.
I try to act casual, but I can feel my cheeks blushing and my heart racing. Terry, oblivious to the tension in the room, flops down on the couch next to Avery. "What kind of 'girl stuff' are we talking about here?" he asks with a smirk.
Avery gives him a playful shove. "None of your business," she says, her tone light. As they banter back and forth, I steal a glance at Jayden. He's watching me intently, his expression unreadable.
I look away quickly, my heart pounding in my chest. I can feel his eyes on me, and I know he's trying to figure out what's going on.
Finally, after what feels like an eternity, Jayden breaks the silence.
"Hannah can I talk to you for a sec?" he says, his tone serious. Everyone looks up, and I feel a knot form in my stomach. "Sure," I say, trying to keep my voice steady. Avery shoots me a sympathetic look as I stand up from the couch, following Jayden into the kitchen.
We walk into the kitchen, and the sound of Terry and Avery's conversation carries into the room, reminding us they are close by. I can feel Jayden's eyes on me as I turn to face him, my heart pounding in my chest.
Jayden looks at me for a moment, his expression serious. "I need to talk to you about something," he says, his voice low. I swallow, feeling nervous. "Okay," I say, my voice sounding unsure even to my own ears.
Jayden takes a step closer to me, his eyes fixed on mine. "I've been noticing that you've been acting differently lately," he says. "You seem distant and distracted. Is everything okay?"
I feel a pang of guilt at his words. I know I've been avoiding him, and I know he's noticed. I force myself to meet his gaze, trying to keep a neutral expression. "Yeah, everything's fine," I say, my voice sounding unconvincing.
Jayden crosses his arms, his gaze unwavering. "I don't believe you," he says, his tone gentle but firm. "Something's going on with you, and I want to know what it is."
I take a deep breath and look up at Jayden, my heart racing. "Okay," I say, the word coming out as a whisper. "There is something I need to tell you." Jayden's expression softens a bit, sensing my unease. "What is it?" he asks, taking a step closer.
I swallow, trying to find the right words. "I... I'm pregnant." The words hang in the air between us, and Jayden's eyes widen in shock. He stands there for a moment, his face unreadable.
It feels like an eternity passes as we stand there silently. Finally, Jayden speaks, his voice soft and stunned. "You're pregnant?" he repeats, as if trying to make sure he heard correctly.
I look over at Avery, who Instead of coming into the kitchen, she stays on the couch with Terry. She pulls the pregnancy test from her pocket, holding it up for Jayden to see from across the room.
Terry, who was lounging next to Avery on the couch, suddenly jolts upright when he sees the pregnancy test in her hand. "Whoa!" he exclaims, falling backwards off the couch in shock. Avery lets out a laugh, finding the situation more amusing than alarming.
Jayden looks at Terry, who is now sprawled on the floor, and a small smile tugs at the corners of his lips. But then he turns his gaze back to me, his expression serious once again. He doesn't say anything, but I can see the questions in his eyes.
I feel my heart racing as I watch Jayden process this news. I can't tell if he's happy, angry, or just shocked. Finally, he turns to look at Avery, who is still holding the test out for him to see.
"Is it positive?" he asks, his voice low. Avery nods, biting her lip nervously. "Yeah, it's positive," she confirms, holding it up for him to see more clearly.
Jayden takes a deep breath, running a hand through his hair. He looks from the test in Avery's hand, then back at me. "How long have you known?" he asks, his voice cracking slightly.
"Just today," I say, my voice quiet. "I took the test this morning." Jayden just nods, still seeming stunned by the news. I can see the gears turning in his head as he tries to process this unexpected turn of events.
Terry, who is still lying on the floor, speaks up, breaking the silence. "Dude, congrats!" he says, a smile spreading across his face. "You're gonna be a daddy!"
Jayden glances down at Terry, seeming surprised by his reaction. But then a small smile tugs at the corners of his mouth. "Yeah," he says, looking at me, his expression softening. "I guess I am."
I let out a sigh of relief, the tension in my shoulders loosening. His reaction seems positive, but I can't be sure how he really feels yet. Avery gets up from the couch, walking over to Jayden. "Congratulations," she says, giving him a hug.
"Thanks," Jayden says, his voice still a bit dazed. Avery gives me a smile before heading back to the couch, where Terry is still lying on the floor, watching us intently.
She gives Terry a swift kick in the side. "Get up, you big oaf," she says jokingly. Terry groans, rubbing his side sheepishly as he stands up from the floor.
He looks at Jayden and me, trying to lighten the mood. "Well, looks like I'm gonna be an uncle soon, huh?" he says, grinning widely.
As the months pass, my belly starts to grow rounder as the life inside of me forms. I go to doctors' appointments, hear a strong heartbeat through the ultrasound, and start feeling small movements. Jayden is always there, his hand on my belly, his face lighting up with excitement and wonder.
The football season gets underway, and Jayden is busy with training and games. I spend most of my time at home, resting, reading, and preparing for the arrival of our baby. As the calendar creeps into December, my due date draws closer. I can feel the anticipation and excitement building, both in me and in Jayden.
One day, after a particularly tiring game, Jayden comes home looking exhausted, but a smile is on his face. He finds me on the couch, reading a book about pregnancy. He sits down beside me, putting his arm around my shoulders. "Hey, baby," he says, his voice low. "How are you feeling today?"
I look up at him, feeling a little swollen and uncomfortable. "I'm okay," I say, resting my hand on my swollen belly. "Just ready for this baby to come out already."
He chuckles, placing his hand over mine on my belly. "I know what you mean," he says, his voice filled with anticipation. "Just a few more weeks to go." He leans over to kiss me, his lips warm and gentle against mine.
I'm woken up just after 3AM by a sharp pain in my stomach. I sit up in bed, feeling a wetness between my legs. "Jayden," I say, my voice shaky. "The water broke."
He stirs, still half asleep. "What?" he mumbles, his eyes bleary. "My water broke," I repeat, my heart racing with a mix of excitement and fear. "We have to go to the hospital."
We rushed to the hospital, and after many hours of labor, I finally give birth to our baby boy. He's healthy and perfect, and we name him Jacoby Koo Daniels. Jayden is there with me every step of the way, holding my hand, wiping my forehead, and beaming with joy as he holds our newborn son in his arms.
The months pass, and our little family grows and flourishes. Jacoby is a healthy and happy baby, and Jayden and I are adjusting to our new roles as parents. Near the end of the football season, Jayden takes me to the last game of the season. We arrive at the stadium, the air buzzing with excitement as fans file in, ready for the big game.
As the game comes to an end, Jayden snags a win for his team. I'm on the field with Jacoby, my heart swelling with pride as I watch Jayden celebrate with his teammates. He looks my way, a huge grin on his face, and motions for me to come closer.
I make my way over to him, Jacoby in my arms. The crowd cheers around us, but Jayden pays them no attention. Instead, he takes a step closer to me, looking deep into my eyes.
"Hannah," he says, his voice sure and steady despite the noise and excitement surrounding us. "You know how much you mean to me, right?"
I nod, my heart swelling with emotion. "Of course, I do," I reply, my voice soft. "You're my everything, Jay." He takes my hand, his grip firm but gentle. "You and Jacoby are my world," he says, his eyes never leaving mine. "And I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
I can feel tears pricking the corners of my eyes as realization of his words begin to sink in. Is he... is he really about to do what I think he's about to do?
Jayden takes a deep breath, dropping down onto one knee. The stadium falls silent, the attention now directed completely to us. He looks up at me, a soft smile on his face. "Hannah," he says, his voice echoing throughout the stadium. "Will you marry me?"
The crowd erupts in applause and cheers, but I can barely hear them over the pounding of my own heart. Tears stream down my face as I look down at him, my beloved Jayden, proposing to me in front of everyone. This is the moment I've been dreaming of.
"Yes," I say, my voice choked with emotion. "Yes, absolutely yes!"
He stands up, his eyes bright with joy and relief, and pulls me into a tight embrace, careful not to crush Jacoby between us. The crowd cheers even louder, whooping and hollering as they celebrate our engagement.
As we pull away from the hug, Jayden smiles down at me, his hand on the back of my head. "You just made me the happiest man alive," he says, his voice thick with emotion.
I can't help but laugh, tears still streaming down my face. "And you just made me the happiest woman," I reply, my voice shaky. He kisses me deeply, his lips still against mine as he whispers. "I love you, soon-to-be Mrs. Daniels."
We pull away from the kiss, and he looks down at Jacoby, who is blissfully unaware of the enormity of the moment. "And you, little guy," he says, ruffling Jacoby's hair affectionately. "You're going to be the cutest groomsman ever."
We remain standing there, surrounded by the applause and cheers of the crowd, our small family complete and blissfully happy.
I look around at the stadium, filled with people celebrating our engagement, and then back at Jayden and Jacoby, my heart bursting with love. This is the beginning of our new chapter together, a life filled with love, laughter, and many, many more special moments. And as I smile up at Jayden, I know without a doubt that we are meant to be together forever.
