53| Kill The Empire's Strongest (Part 1)

Darkness. Darkness was all she could see.

What were the last moments she saw? She couldn't remember. It all happened so fast that she couldn't comprehend what had occurred.

Ah, now she remembered. He remembered him saying, "I'm sorry," as well as giving her one last smile. She and he promised that they'd be together, that they'd stay alive until the very end. However, there were other questions she asked herself. What was she going to tell Air? The daughter they loved and ended up adopting, even if they didn't sign any official documents or anything like that. She was still their daughter.

Groaning to herself, Akame woke up. She found herself where she was last awake. The tunnel had collapsed completely right after Akira had thrown to save her, but gave up his own life in the process. The ravenette heard whining, turning her head to her left to see Fenrir nudging it's head against her. He was saddened, concerned for his co-owner, but also saddened that it's owner had left this world. Holding back a sob, Akame pet the wolf's head, soon standing up and quickly heading for the surface whilst Fenrir stayed behind, curling itself as it remained by it's master's side, who laid under the rubble. She couldn't let his sacrifice go to waste, and she had to end the one other objective they had.

It's what he would've wanted.

Flashback

In a doctor's tent, Akame, Najenda, and Akira stood in front of the doctor that was previously tending to Tatsumi regarding his merging with Incursio. As she was now, Akame had stood no chance against the Empire's Strongest, Esdeath. The only one who really stood a chance against her was Akira, who's training wasn't nearly on par as her, but he was much stronger than his raven-haired partner.

So to boost their chances, Akame had suggested doping, to increase her strength. However...

Doctor: "I'm against it."

Akira: "I'm gonna be honest, I'm am too. And don't suggest any other reckless ideas."

Akame stayed silent. She lowered her head as she looked down at her feet.

Akame: "Seeing Wave, I thought I could do it, but... It really is a matter of compatibility... Possessing two Teigus is just not possible. Murasame's the only one I can use. So my only option left is to dose myself."

Akira: "I can understand that, but..."

Akame: "But what?"

Akira: "I just..." (sigh) "I don't want you to end up like Kurome. I'd hate to see you in pain like that."

Akame: "Akira. Trust me on this. Please?"

Akira: "..." (relenting sigh) "Fine."

Doctor: "...Using it will bring results, that much is certain. But even if it works out, once you use such a powerful drug, all your sharpened senses from growing up in the wild will be dulled. As an assassin whose life hangs by a thread, that could spell utter disaster. I'm saying there could be adverse effects."

Akame: "As long as it works this one time, I'm okay with that. Besides, this will be my final battle. Our job is to make Esdeath rest in pieces. And I want to increase the chances of accomplishing that, even if it's only by 1%."

Akira: "And besides, it's like she said. It's our final battle. After this, we're done."

Seeing the two assassins set on this, the doctor sighed. He then went to his table to get the drug whilst Najenda stepped up to talk to the red-eyed girl.

Najenda: "If this weren't your final battle, you can bet your ass I'd be opposed to this. Akame, you possess a calm and stable demeanor. Dosing up just makes so little sense for someone like you. But if is this to be your last battle... If it's what you want, then I'll relent. That's how formidable Esdeath is."

The girl nodded and then looked to the black-haired teen for reassurance of her decision. With a sigh, Akira grabbed her hand and smiled at her, causing her to smile back as well.

He soon came back with a vial with a pill inside it, presenting it toward Akame.

Doctor: "This is a drug we collected from one of the younger members of the Empire's assassination squad. I blended it using my Perfector to create this. Take it before your fight with Esdeath. I can guarantee results during the fight, but not about what will happen after."

Present Day

The raven-haired girl kept bouncing off the ground, making it hard for Esdeath to get in a strike on her. She was covered in blood, having slain anyone that stood in her way that opposed her mission. A mix of different emotions were welling up within her, but mostly sadness and anger.

Esdeath was kept on the defensive, blocking all of Akame's strikes. She turned her head over slightly to see the current state of the supreme Teigu. However, her eyes had widened when she found Shikoutazer lying on the ground, completely dispatched as there was a gaping hole in it's chest area. The blue-haired woman let out a click of her tongue in annoyance.

Esdeath: "The supreme Teigu's down...!"

Akame: "The Empire's finished, Esdeath!"

The blue-haired woman let out an audible "tch" from her mouth, forcing Akame off of her as Akame's shoes skid across the concrete. She was exhausted, as evident by her heavy pants and breathing, but she couldn't stop here. An excited grin soon makes it's way to Esdeath's face.

Esdeath: "It's true that the Empire is done for... So from here on out, I'm fighting a personal battle!"

She charged forward once more, kicking off small bits of rock from where she stepped. Akame grunted as she quickly raised up Murasame for defense. Their blades clashed once more, the two trading blows and strikes as sparks flew into the air, the clanging of weapons echoing as subtle shockwaves shook the wall slightly. The grin that was already on Esdeath's face only widened further. She noted that Akame had added more patterns to the style of her instant death blade, meaning she had created more countermeasures against her.

But this made it all the more excitable. Esdeath thrusts her rapier forward, Akame gritting her teeth as she moved her head out of the way, narrowly dodging the strike as small bits of her hair was sliced. She was responding quickly and accordingly to her attacks. Esdeath knew she had to do something about this. Their dance only continued as they battled atop the wall. But their battle went on for what felt like hours, the pair soon find themselves into the ruined parts of the city. But at this point, Akame was getting near her limits. Her breathing was getting more ragged as she was running out of energy to keep going, having expending much when they were previously searching for their other targets. On the contrary, Esdeath seemed fine, as she stood there like she hadn't broken a sweat at all. Esdeath smirked with pity, staring Akame down.

Esdeath: "Finished so soon? I thought your instant death blade would be a real threat. At least you showed me a good time. But I wonder... Where is Akira? I'm sure he could've given me a better show than you could."

Akame bit her lip, holding her tongue. The grip on the handle of Murasame began to get shaky as she remembered those moments. Seeing her actions and behavior, noticing that Akame was struggling to hold in tears, Esdeath sighed as she shook her head.

Esdeath: "I see. So he's gone. Shame. But that just meant he was weak."

The sentence that exited her mouth angered Akame quite a bit. She didn't like it when others talked down to those that she cared for, especially her partner. Esdeath's eyes lightened up in amusement, seeing a rising fury in Akame's red eyes.

Esdeath: "Touched a nerve, didn't I?" (lightly chuckles) "No matter. I suppose once I've made one last attack, I'll go somewhere new and seek out a new fight... Or start a new one."

Akame: (grits teeth) "I won't let you do that. You are going to die right here and now."

The blue-haired mused as she chuckled.

Esdeath: "And just how are you going to defeat me?"

Najenda: "Like this, Esdeath!"

The icy general's eyes widen upon hearing Najenda's voice. It wasn't long after that she turned around, Esdeath soon finding herself being surrounded by the aforementioned person, the Revolutionary Army, and it's Teigu squad. Najenda sat proudly atop her horse, the Teigu unit at her side as they looked at Esdeath defiantly.

Esdeath mirrored the defiant stare, but was thoroughly impressed by the number of soldiers that stood there to stop her.

Najenda: "Sorry we took so long, Akame. Good job keeping Esdeath busy. We were able to get everyone into formation around her. ...Where's Akira?"

A pained look makes it to Akame's face, looking to the side as she closed her eyes, tears beginning to prickle at the ends once more. Najenda's silver-colored hair covered her one purple eye, the woman tilting her head downward slightly. Seeing Akame's face was all she needed to confirm her suspicions.

Najenda: "...I see."

The one-eyed woman then made another glance at Esdeath. The blue-haired woman kept a narrowed smirk on her face, causing Najenda to narrow her eye at her. It was probably obvious to Esdeath that she knew that she would be surrounded. She even made no effort to flee whatsoever.

Esdeath, at heart, was a bloodthirsty warmonger.

Esdeath: "Najenda! You supposedly have a secret Teigu you're going to use on me, right? That's the word on the street."

Najenda: (raised eyebrows) "So you already knew about it? Well, you're right!" (thoughts) 'Though it's all a lie! We spread rumors about the existence of a secret weapon in order to stall for time. But it was just a bluff.'

In fact, Najenda's plan had been set in motion.

As she supposedly explained to Esdeath, that she had a secret weapon to use against her, Akame began to sneak and slip herself among the crowd of soldiers. Slipping into the ranks of the army would give Akame a better chance at spotting an opening to assassinate Esdeath while she was busy fighting off all the soldiers. However, Najenda grew worried about the fact that Leone wasn't with her, let alone Akira. But she couldn't dwell on that fact right now.

What they need now was more than 50,000 elite soldiers, at least ten Teigu users, and Akame herself. Akira and Leone would be nice as an added bonus to the attack, but they had to work with what they had.

And they had indeed met the requirements. With their forces combined, Najenda had predicted that they were about a million strong. She was confident that they would be able to defeat the icy general with the forces they had. Esdeath eyed Najenda's confident smirk, letting out a displeased hum, flipping some of her strands with the wind before she responded back with her usual excited grin.

Esdeath: "You're so confident, Najenda. I want to see that face of yours twisted in grief."

Najenda: "The Imperial Army has surrendered. And your wicked followers have fallen. You don't even have your Jaegers anymore. The only ones on your side is your ice cavalry. And at the moment, the ice cavalry is surrounded and unable to come to your aid." (facing men) "This will be a war of attrition! You're going to die at the hands of one million soldiers! Esdeath! Attack her in waves!"

Roars and shouts among the army echoed, all of them beginning to swarm the lone Imperial general. Esdeath let out a scoff, unamused by all of this.

Esdeath: "A measly one million cannot defeat me."

Najenda: (eyes wide) "What...!?"

Esdeath: "Allow me to show you the true form of the Trump Card I have planned for you." (snaps fingers) "Consider it my last resort, only made possible now that I have no more allies."

Her previously surrounded ice cavalry began to dissipate and turn into mist of ice. The ice mist and shards began to circulate back towards Esdeath, as if she was calling back the power, which she was. Having been returned to her, Esdeath smirked, aiming her arm up to the sky.

An ice beam, the bright icy blue pillar shot out of her palm, shooting into the sky as all the soldiers began to look. From all the power she had amassed to create her ice cavalry, which she had been crafting for days, she had recalled it back to herself, all of the power she had dispensed returning back to her in one go. It was now time for her ultimate technique yet.

Esdeath: "Commander-in-chief Ice Storm!"

A blizzard began to formulate around the blue-haired woman, soon enveloping the area with snow, the Capital soon becoming a frigid tundra. However, that wasn't the full extent of Esdeath's power. Because of the power she had amassed and stored in her ice cavalry, it coming back to her in loads, it only increased the size of the blizzard, the size of the ice storm.

By now, the ice storm was big enough to cover the whole entire continent, now encasing it entirely in a frozen wasteland. It was like the Empire had become a large icebox.

Everyone was in disbelief, especially Najenda. They had no idea that Esdeath had possessed this kind of power.

Najenda: "Wh-What the hell...!?"

Esdeath: "I'm sure you've heard of the 'Winter Shogun.' Well, he's arrived. I've covered a majority of this country with ice and snow." (terrifying grin) "I'm not only going to defeat your forces here, but all your friends in every region. Forget all that silly talk about this being a 'war of attrition' and come at me like you're ready to die."

Najenda: "Your subordinates are fighting their asses off on the Western front! You're bringing this upon them too!"

Esdeath: "...That's outside my range. I'm being considerate of them and their families. Well... Just a little."

She stated it nonchalantly, a small smile plastered on her face that left them appalled. They couldn't believe that Esdeath would still let her army suffer through this snowstorm, including their families, even if it was just a little.

This was something of a problem that posed more than Shikoutazer, which attacked both the Capital and palace. But, Esdeath went a step further and beyond, attacking the entire country itself.

Najenda: (narrows eyes in anger) "Esdeath. I always knew you were a natural-born killer."

Esdeath: (giggles sadistically) "If their will to live is strong enough, they'll survive the snowstorm. The weak will die. I'm also excited to fight those who survive this natural selection. I think it'll make me stronger."

Most of the members froze in fear, but also froze because of how cold it was. If people were to look at the blue-haired woman, one can imagine that she's a natural disaster if one had a will.

But knowing her, they would have to stop her if they wished for this snowstorm to end. And so they all moved in droves, the Belvaac user of the Teigu unit being the first to rush forward. She had confidence in her strength, bringing the axe over her head and prepared it to swing it down. Esdeath mused, seeing that she was still able to employ her usual techniques during this snowstorm, the blue-haired woman putting her hand on the ground as ice erupted from her palm. The Belvaac user's eyes widened, soon finding herself encased in ice. With a wide grin that was easily able to terrify anyone, Esdeath gazed upon the Revolutionary Army. The ones that were charging in droves halted in their tracks, their hands shook as the grip on their blades and handles of their weapons faltered.

However, the person that gave Esdeath the most amusement upon gazing at their expression was Najenda. The silver-haired general's eye had widened in shock, the woman gritting her teeth in frustration at how one of the Teigu users of their unit was easily defeated. She simply chuckled upon gazing at it.

Esdeath: "I like that face on you much better, Najenda. That's how it should be... All your missions so far haven't required that you defeat me. But if you don't stop me this time, this will never end. Cower before the strongest power in existence as you freeze to death."

As the soldiers grew more nervous at Esdeath's growing bloodlust, Najenda rallies them once more. With more determined yells and roars, albeit with reluctance, the soldiers charged forward.

Even after having their spirits shattered, they still have found some sort of will to keep going thanks to their commanding officer. Esdeath admired that, but she still frowned.

Esdeath: "I'm coming for you, scumbags! You can all go to hell!"

The blue-haired woman slammed her hand onto the ground. Erupting from the ground was an ice structure that took in the form of a tree stump, which then form into a tree without leaves. This ice structure served as a turret, the standing object automatically firing ice projectiles down at the Rebel soldiers, which they were all dropping down like flies. Esdeath grinned as this onslaught kept going, but it soon faded and her eyes widened.

Something had dropped from the sky, crushing and shattering the ice tree to dust and shards. It revealed to be a large armored dragon, it's gaze soon finding itself to Esdeath herself as it glared down at her angrily. She stared at it for a good long moment before her eyes widened.

Esdeath: "Tatsumi...! That must be the cost of evolving so rapidly... You've turned into a dragon."

After his fight with Shikoutazer, Tatsumi's mind had succumbed to his armor, allowing the Tyrant consciousness to take over. Any resemblance of him was no longer there, and what replaced him was a hideous monster. Most people would've repulsed at such a sight, but Esdeath gained her usual grin.

She thought it was beautiful. With this newfound strength of his, this only served Esdeath to what to dominate and kill him. Tatsumi roared with anger, charging up a torrent of flames from his mouth. The former brown-haired teen had unleashed it, prompting the blue-haired woman to create an ice barrier in front of her to protect herself. Her grin only kept widening in pure excitement, her effervescent love for him never changing. Yes, what she longed for a long time, ever since she found he was a member of Night Raid and that defiant stare she gave him back in his prison cell.

She had to be the one to defeat him.

While Tatsumi continued his attack, Akame ran up behind him and called out to the large dragon.

Akame: "What are you doing, Tatsumi!? Look what you've become, you've done more than your share of fighting! Step down and leave this to me!"

Tatsumi: "We must... Stop... The storm... Mine... Is freezing."

Akame's red eyes widened in shock. His presence, Tatsumi's consciousness was still there, somehow hanging by a thread. It may be because of his strong will to live and see Mine again that kept him from succumbing to such a monster, but it was most likely that he didn't have much left. Akame gritted her teeth.

Akame: "You're something else... Thinking about that at a time like this..."

He stayed silent for a bit.

Tatsumi: "If I'm...going to disappear anyway... Then first... I want to make a difference...!"

Akame: "Tatsumi...!"

The red-eyed girl called out to him, Tatsumi having flown away. Akame bit her lip and gritted her teeth as she gained a conflicted look. She wanted to stop him and knock him out of his reckless senses, but she still had her mission to do. It was a difficult decision.

Holding back a sob, she turned around and continued to maneuver through the crowd to find her opening on Esdeath. She had to fulfill her duty.

Back with the fight of Esdeath, a group of lancers came in and ran toward the blue-haired woman, nearby, a girl with a microphone, Cosmina's former Teigu, inhaled before she screamed into it. She used the Teigu's Trump Card, Nasty Voice. Using her Trump Card, the woman's voice was amplified to cause the opponent and any other person who heard it hallucinations. The lancers took this as their chance of opening, the lead man ordering his men to launch their weapons forward. But Esdeath smirked, rushing through the sonic waves like they were nothing and cut the lances of the lancers like they were butter. All of them stared in shock, the leader of the lancers confused as to why Heavy Pressure's Trump Card didn't affect the icy general at all. Esdeath simply replied that it was just noise, but the answer was vague, the woman responding with sending ice shards in the direction of the lancers as they embedded their hearts, killing them.

Then, a soldier from behind threw an orb that said "Flame." It was Big Leaguer, the former Teigu of Champ. The orb landed in Esdeath's vicinity, the area around her exploding into a ball of flame. He expected for the blue-haired general to be dead, but was shocked when she saw more ice needles shoot out of the flame walls. More soldiers began to drop like flies, Esdeath within the giant explosion as she was protected by a barrier of ice. Her grin on her face falted when she rolled out of the way, Tatsumi suddenly dropping in from above, making all the fire dissipate and her ice barrier to shatter. Esdeath dragged her hand across the dirt ground to stop herself, soon coming to a halt and looked up. Her eyes widened when she saw Tatsumi, in his human form, running at her with no remorse as he held Incursio's key. But it was in fact an illusion, a member of the Teigu unit using the former Zank the Executioner's Teigu, Spectator. He used one of the five abilities of the Teigu to cause an illusion, hoping it would make Esdeath falter and make it easy for Akame to eliminate her.

However, Esdeath scoffed. She had prepared to end Tatsumi's life a long time ago, so seeing him in front of her was child's play. Using her rapier, she cut the illusion of Tatsumi down, blood exiting from a slash wound on his side. The illusion would disappear, an emotionless look on Esdeath's face while the soldier that cast the illusion was shocked.

Soldier: "She broke out of the illusion herself!?"

Esdeath: "I decided I'd be the one to defeat Tatsumi so that spell had the opposite effect."

Revolutionary Army Soldier: "Sh-She's too strong... We can't even scratch her. At this rate, she'll kill us all..."

Najenda: "No. There's no way one person can kill one million. Even she'll run out of steam eventually. Despite this massive army, there's not a single person who can attack her. That's why she seems invincible. Coupling that with the cold wave, her objective is to eradicate our morale. 'We'll last longer running away and battling the cold than fighting Esdeath.' The moment the soldiers think that, we will lose."

Revolutionary Army Soldier: "Y-Yeah, that's how she could defeat a million by herself without facing an army."

Najenda: "I fell for her aura at first too, but... If Esdeath means to face us rather than run away, this is her best shot for success." (thoughts) 'Please, Akame... We don't have much time on account of the storm. You mustn't rush, but please focus on what needs to be done and make your attacks count!'

Speaking of Akame, she was assessing for Esdeath's weakness from every angle. From the shadows of the soldiers that were sacrificing themselves to fight her, she would then make her move and strike. She had no misgivings about her course of actions.

Killing is the best at what she does, and she was going to make Esdeath rest in pieces.

Another member of the Teigu unit could then be seen riding atop a Danger Beast, along with a horde of them behind him. He must've had a Teigu that allows him to tame Danger Beasts, the man ordering the horde to attack the blue-haired woman. Esdeath smirked, extending her hand out before put it on the ground. In an instant, the Teigu user and the horde of Danger Beasts were frozen, the Revolutionary Army members taking this as a chance to charge at her. However, this proved to be a mistake, Esdeath soon turning around to face them with her usual sadistic grin. She then created a large skewer, spikes on all sides as she then began to let it rotate.

Like batter in a bowl, the Rebel soldiers all began to get ripped to pieces and whisked away, blood flying everywhere as bones and shards and pieces of human parts splattered over the place. It was a bloody scene.

But Esdeath would soon click her tongue when Tatsumi soon appeared, the boy now turned dragon grabbing the ice structure, preventing it from spinning any longer. The former brown-haired teen growled and snarled in anger as he stared at the blue-haired woman. The man with Big Leaguer then yelled as he threw another Flame orb, it soon flying her way. Esdeath let out a "hmph," dodging by jumping into the air as she drove her heel into his forehead. The man grunted in pain before his eyes rolled into the back of his head, Esdeath killing him instantly.

Soon, the user that now holds Extase jumped in, activating it's Trump Card as a bright purple light shone. Other Teigu users jump in, three of them to be exact. Together, the four of them went to get a jump on the icy general. But Esdeath took them down like they were measly flies.

Dodging two strikes from two of them, Esdeath faced the Extase user. She caught the giant scissor and kicked the user away, the woman skidding across the ground and being slammed into a wall of ice. The other three would rush back in, but Esdeath used her rapier to cut two of them down, killing them instantly and slamming the last one's head into the floor, his blood and brains splattering all over the floor. How she was able to defeat them was that she could tell all of their moves just by the signals they were giving off. It made everything so simple for her.

Esdeath: "I ought to commend you all. That was some pretty impressive teamwork. But you're through." (snaps fingers) "This is why I can't let war ever end!"

Her body quivered in ecstasy at the thought of the fight to the death. The moment she raised her arm to summon something, Akame made her move.

Moving out from the ranks of the Revolutionary Army, moving at break neck speeds, she rushed forward and slashed at her.

Esdeath: (surprised) "What!?"

She was surprised, not expecting the attack to have come in so quickly. Esdeath stared in Akame's defiant red eyes, full of nothing but killing intent to end her life.

Akame: "You finally gave me an opening. That's all I need to cut you down."

Esdeath: (grits teeth) "Mahapdama!"

Using her Teigu's Trump Card, Esdeath froze time. Everything around her was now frozen, unable to move. Akame remained stationary in the air and everyone else was still as well. The blue-haired woman glanced down to her arm, seeing where Akame had slashed her.

She was impressed. Impressed that Akame was able to even put a small cut on her. Already, Murasame's curse was appearing.

Esdeath: "I didn't even realize it until I'd been cut. Curse you, Akame."

With a click of her tongue, Esdeath raised her other arm and slammed it down on her infected arm. She used so much force that she cut her arm off cleanly, small pours of blood spurting out of it.

However, a grin soon came to her face when she heard something coming towards her. It was Tatsumi, his dragon body roaring as he attempted to swipe his arm at her. The blue-haired woman created an ice sword in place of her missing forearm, dodging Tatsumi's attack and slashing at his stomach area. Esdeath attempted to make another attack until she heard thundering footsteps.

Who else could it be?

She turned her head around and her eyes widened. Running toward her was a large knight, it's head covered by a tattered hood. A helmet sat on top of it, with a helmet plume included, his whole body giving off some sort of shadowy aura. In one of it's hands was a large two-handed greatsword, it's other free arm limp, as if it was broken. And lastly, it's other distinctive feature was the tattered and ruined shawl around it's neck.

Artorias the Abysswalker.

Esdeath grunted as she leapt out of the way, dodging a powerful strike from the shadowy knight. It had swung it's greatsword like it was nothing, the road under the sword being shattered due to the amount of force it had used.

Time soon resumed back to it's normal speed, Akame soon falling to the ground on her stomach. Once she opened her eyes, the only thing she sees is Esdeath still standing with a severed arm, an ice sword in it's place, a giant towering, shadowy figure wielding a greatsword that a normal man wouldn't be able to wield, and Tatsumi's bleeding dragon body flying past her.

Akame: "Tatsumi!" (thoughts) 'Her arm!? That time freeze is how she avoided death... But how is Akira's Artorias summon here? I thought he couldn't use him after that battle?'

Artorias let out a gluttering roar as it readied it's greatsword once more, rushing down to take on the blue-haired woman. Seeing as they gained an ally, the Revolutionary Army's morale sky rocketed, they too rushing down to take her on as well. Akame was still confused. It wasn't until she felt another presence nearby, turning her gaze to follow it.

In that instant, she felt happy and relieved as tears began to appear. Standing atop some pieces of rubble, a growling wolf with Gin's sword in it's mouth, stood a familiar reaper. The ominous green glow of Harvester, the scythe resting on his shoulder. A cold gaze in his eyes as he gazed down at the icy general. It was her beloved partner, the one she loved so dearly.

She was happy, of course. But her happy smile soon faded, Akame looking deeper into his eyes. His icy blue eyes didn't seem to have it's familiar lively glow, rather it was more dull. Not only that, his eyes looked... Feral. She couldn't explain it. Akame watched as the boy extended his arm, a green light appearing at the end of his fingertips. Likewise, the glow on Harvester grew brighter. Soon, three more figures the size of Artorias appeared. One had golden armor, which resembled a lion and his helmet had a red plume on it's head. The weapon of choice was a spear.

The other had a figure of a woman, the most distinct feature of her armor was her porcelain mask. Like Artorias, she also had blue fabrics spread about her armor. Her weapon of choice were two daggers, one colored to that of a bright gold and the other to that of a dark silver. Lastly, the last figure had armor that resembled to that of a hawk, but the most defining feature was his large bow. A mighty weapon that only he could wield. Akira orders for them to attack, Fenrir jumping down with Gin's blade, the knights with the spear and daggers following after. The one with the bow stayed at his side, summoning a spectral arrow and pulling back on the bowstring. Akame wished to converse with her partner, but she then remembered Tatsumi, the ravenette taking her attention off Akira and ran over to the dragon transformed boy.

Akame: "Tatsumi, are you okay!?"

When she ran up to him, she put a hand on his eye. She felt another presence within. Before she could do anything, Tatsumi lashed out on her, raising his dragon arm and slamming to down on her. Thankfully, she was able to dodge in time, but she was shocked that her friend would attack her like that. She braced herself when Tatsumi raised his arm, but it was soon placed down in front of her. Akame's expression soon relaxed a bit.

Tatsumi: "K-Kill... Me..."

She was shocked. Tatsumi was still in there... Somewhere.

Tatsumi: (struggling) "I can't keep... My mind from... Slipping away. Please. So please kill me. Hurry..."

He was right, even if she didn't want to do it. If he were to lose his battle against the Tyrant within, who knows what would happen. She knew her decision.

Akame: "...You're right. Okay. I'll kill you."

The raven-haired girl put a hand on Murasame, walking up to him slowly. Holding back her tears, she fully unsheathed her blade. She then stabbed it in his chest, killing Tatsumi instantly, his large body falling backwards as it made a loud thud.

Akame had killed so many people... Taken countless lives... But now... Regardless of the circumstances, she had thrust her blade into her friend's body. The first time she had something like this was when she first acquired Murasame. She had been willing to kill her own little sister had the situation demanded it.

This alone was enough to convince Murasame, the demon blade, that Akame was the true owner of it. The true owner of such a demonic blade. In other words...

---

Esdeath had defeated the troops coming her way, now holding up the Teigu user that held Spectator. Behind her were Artorias and the other knights, their limbs frozen in ice as they struggled to break free.

Fenrir was wounded, whining in pain as it was trying to crawl away, blood oozing out of it's leg. With a wide grin, Esdeath raised up her rapier to plunge it through the Teigu user's throat.

Esdeath: "Obey the natural order of things and die."

She went to thrust it, but soon stopped it when an aura of dark aura exploded behind her. Alarmed, she turned around.

Calmly walking toward Esdeath was Akame. But the difference was were the slightly dark red marks all over her, the white area in her eyes now turned black. Murasame now oozed of a dark black aura.

Murasame's Trump Card: Release of Ennoozuno.
