Serenity Carter-Carson - Zane has always had a typical mother-son relationship, but after his father's disappearance, their bond ends up taking a turn for the better as he and her come to rely on each other more than they had expected. Furthermore as he sees the work she puts into providing for him and ensuring that his needs are met on her own, he develops a sense of respect and admiration for his mother, whom he ends up seeing as a role model for him with his father believed to be dead.

Because of this, it can be said that Zane is a "Mama's Boy" with the amount of love and affection he holds for her. Even when he succeeds in bringing his father home, Zane is still going to be a "Mama's Boy" as the bond between him and his mother is just simply stronger than that of his bond with his father.

Axel Carson - Initially, it could be said that Zane was a "Daddy's Boy" as he was a lot closer to him than that of his mother. This is due to the fact that Zane looked up to his father and wanted to be just like him as he idolized his father in an almost unhealthy-like manner. So when his father disappears and he is believed to be dead, he is gutted by the news as he takes the news harder than his mother due to the closeness he held for him.

As such, he finds himself in denial and convinces himself that his father has to be alive, so much so that he is determined to make it true, even when everyone insists that his father is long gone. This devotion leads him to pursue a investigation into his father's disappearance and in the process, Zane starts to feel closer to him, believing he had a chance to truly find him.

But while doing his investigation and searching for answers, he [and his friends] start to discover things.... things that start to conflict with the way he's always viewed his father and start changing the way he has always perceived him as he always believed that if he fought through the 'monsters,' he would find his father again. Yet as he continues with his investigation, he can't find but wonder who he'll find when he encounters his father: the man he's always idolized... or a monster he should fear.

Arcadia Cipher - Crossover only; these two will gradually become close with time; it's simply a matter of them getting accustomed to each other and learning to bond with each other.

Personality:
Resourceful, determined and driven, Zane Carson is someone who is able to think on his feet with his resourcefulness, which tends to come in handy when your friend and your crush tends to drag you into trouble on a regular basis.

Aside from that though, he doesn't let anything (or anyone) stop him from doing what he believes is best - even when others may disagree with him. Furthermore, in addition to being determined and driven, he also tends to fixate upon the smallest details and as such, he tends to make more trouble for himself than what it's really worth. Because he can get lost in the process, he always needs someone to reel him in and bring him back to reality. Otherwise, he'll get lost and overwhelm himself with every little thing that he comes across.

Furthermore, while Zane may not seem like it on the surface (due to his desire to stay out of trouble and keep to himself), he is actually quite daring and in some cases, he is actually seen as being brave in instance where it matters most. Despite this, he can be a bit reluctant to face danger as he's the type to run from danger, not towards it. But as he finds himself getting dragged into trouble by Mara and Casey, he starts to gradually become more comfortable with facing danger as their personalities start to rub a bit on him.

So while Zane is reclusive {as he isn't really one to put himself out there}, he is very observant and has a knack for picking up on things that others may miss as he has a habit of pointing out things that might've gone unnoticed.

In addition, Zane is protective of his loved ones and that of his friends {who he sees as an extension of his family} and is loyal to them to a fault. Because of this, he is seen as being reliable, trustworthy and the one everyone can always depend on {along with his other friend, Briana Gem Sentry [OC belongs to Sci-Briana17], of course}.

However, Zane isn't without his faults as he has a tendency to be jealous from time to time and lets his pride often get in the way of things. As such, he can get carried away from time to time with his ambitious nature. With his ambitions, it usually means he needs someone to center him and occasionally put him in his place to make him aware of the fact that he's on the verge of going too far. If not, then he will go too far and let his pride (as well as his ambitions) get the best of him.

He also has a tendency of acting very passive-aggressive whenever he's jealous or angry or experiencing any type of negative emotion as he's very reluctant of being outspoken about his negative emotions unless he is pushed into doing so. He tends to stray away from conflict and confrontation, so he would rather be passive aggressive than be upfront about his emotions unless he's essentially forced into doing so.

He also tends to hold grudges for anything as the matter could be very small or largely demential and be largely significant to him. Regardless, he tends to hold onto grudges for some time and it takes awhile for him to truly move on.

The watch that he wears with his outfit serves as a homage to his father and acts as a reminder of the promise he made to himself when he first learned of his father's fate: he promised himself [and later on, his father] he was going to find his father and bring him home - a promise Zane intended to keep.

2. The relationship between Zane and his father is similar to that of Tim and Harry Goodman from Detective Pikachu in addition to William "Will" Turner and William "Bootstrap Bill" Turner from Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean franchise as both of these characters are searching for their father and end up coming across secrets from their father's past.

3. The quote addressing Briana Gem Sentry [OC belongs to Sci-Briana17] is meant to serve as the basis as to how he ends up working with his friend to help bring his father home since it acts as the foundation to their budding detective-like partnership. This was also a idea that Sci-Briana17 came up with, so credit for this goes to her and her alone.

4. Although Zane is very much so his own character, he is partially inspired through the following characters: Tim Goodman from Detective Pikachu (hence the face claim as I am unoriginal), Will Turner from Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean and Telemachus in EPIC the Musical (hence his theme song being Legendary from the singing musical that is a retelling of Homer's Odyssey).
