Y/n looked at the dark ceiling of her friend's room. Alexa was on the bed, hugging her pillow while her friend was standing next to her.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing... Tell me Alexa, did you have fun tonight?"
The blonde looked at her
"Yes very much, the sunset curve are very good, almost as good as you are. I talk to one of the band's member, his name's Reggie"
Y/n smiled thinking about how soft that boy had seemed
"Nice?"
"Uhm yes, he is too soft, not like Ryan"
"Uh, that boy gets a point!"
Alexa punched her arm
"Y/n stop it! Give Ryan a chance"
"Never"

When the blonde finally fell asleep, y/n got up and went to the window, looking at the starry sky.
She thought about what Luke told her the same evening. Maybe attending to the band's rehearsal was not bad, she could be with people who loved music like her and do what she liked without being told that music was useless

Alex, Reggie and Bobby were happily discussing about how well the evening had gone while Luke was outside the garage where the band's rehearsal usually took place.
He looked up at the starry sky, plucking his guitar strings into a sweet melody.
"Ehy man, are you ok?" Asked Reggie
"Uhm?"
"You look like you are on another planet, what are you thinking?"
"Nothing"
"Mh, I've never seen you like this" Said Alex
"Maybe it's a girl" Added Reggie
"No one ok? I just... Don't know"
"It's the one from this evening?"
"Can we... Stop talking about her?"
Alex and Reggie looked at each other, worried

They had never seen their friend like this, it was evident that there was something he didn't want to say.
"Her friend is beautiful" Said Reggie to change the subject
"The girl you talked to all evening?"
"Yes! She is so amazing"

The next morning, y/n was lying on the floor with all her hair over her face. When the alarm rang, Alexa got up sleepily
"Y/n? Where are you?"
She didn't answer and when the blonde girl got out of bed, she fell on her friend
"Oh, I found you"
"Ouch Alexa, be careful"
"Ehy, usually normal people sleep on the bed"
The two girls got up, went to the bathroom to get ready for school.

Once they reached the kitchen, they saw Alexa's father cooking breakfast while the stereo was on, playing some good music. Y/n eyes lit up and reached the man. They both started singing, while Alexa put a hand on her face, shocked. Y/n loved dance and sing and was happy that her friend's father encouraged her in this.
"You are a great singer"
She smiled

When they arrived at school, y/n walked to her locker in a good mood.
"Why are you so happy?"
"I have a lot of song ideas and I feel like making music"
"Finally! I've never seen you so determined"

At that moment, Ryan came and took Alexa by the hips.
"Good morning, honey"
"I could vomit" Said y/n
Alexa glared at her friend
"Y/n, shut up"
"I'm not in a good mood anymore"
Y/n looked at the four boys in the corridor and smiled seeing Luke
She noticed that Reggie was sad to see Alexa with Ryan, while Alex patted him on the shoulder to comfort him. Luke, on the other hand, waved to the girl, making her smile
What was happening to her? Such a thing had never happened to her, especially with a boy

Y/n spent the last hour of school in the library. The table was covered with books of all subjects, yet she couldn't stop thinking about her music.
That moment was interrupted by someone who sat down at the table with her. The girl looked up, meeting his blue eyes
"Hi?"
"Hey, what are you doing, rosy- cheeks"
She rolled her eyes at the nickname, even if she liked it
"Study?"
"Uhm, you don't seem particularly interested in these things. What are you thinking about?"
"My music, I have a lot of ideas but I should study and I don't know how to write the lyric"
"You should stop study and do something else"
"Like what?"
"Listen music and go somewhere, for example take a walk on the beach or in the city"
"I don't know..."
"C'mon"
He stood up and held out his hand
"I promise you won't regret it"
She bit her lips

"For me 'basket case' is a nice song" Said Luke walking on the sand
"I confirm, I know it by heart"
The boy looked shocked
"I'm impressed"
They both laughed
Their eyes met again, making y/n feel a weird feeling
"I am hungry, shall we get something to eat?"
She said changing the subject
Luke scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment, then replied
"If you eat now, you won't eat at dinner, right?"
"Sorry MoMmY, if you say something like that it means that you are underestimating me. I would eat all day if I could"
Luke laughed
"Okay, let's take a hot dog then"

The two were sitting on the seaside. Without realising it, they were writing a song together. Neither knew how it all started, but they stayed in that way all afternoon until y/n looked at her watch.
"I have to go, my grandmother will be worried"
Luke nodded
"Rosy- cheeks..."
"Mh?"
"I had fun today, see you tomorrow"
She smiled
"See you, guitarist- boy"

When she entered the house, she closed the door behind her.
"I'm home!"
Her gaze fell on the piano in the living room. She slowly walked over and sat down. She put her fingers on the keys and began to mash some of them. She sighed thinking how much she wanted to make her dream come true, but knew what her parents thought about it
"Y/n! Go and shower yourself! Dinner is ready!"
Her grandmother screamed

When dinner was over, y/n went to her room and put the school books on bed, intent to study. Suddenly she found a piece of paper inside one of the books, took it and opened it. She immediately recognised the handwriting of the blue- eyed boy and smiled.

She smiled as she read those words and her heart started beating fast, she didn't know why. She decided to dial the number and call him.
She played with the telephone line waiting for an answer.
Suddenly a woman answered.
"Hello?"
"H- Hi, I'm y/n, Luke's friend. Is he home?"
She bit her lips. She really said they were friends?
"Yes, wait a minute. LUKE!"
She laughed
"Hello?" The boy answered boredly on the phone
"Oh, I didn't mean to bother you"
As soon as the boy heard her voice, smiled
"Oh no, I'm glad you called, I just didn't expect so soon, what you need?"
Honestly, she didn't know why she called him either, maybe she just wanted to hear his voice
"Just tell you that I had fun today, you are not so bad"
They both laughed
"See you tomorrow rosy- cheeks, remember to rest. Goodnight"
