The covers submitted by the graphic designers were phenomenal. Each Cover was unique and commendable.

So here are the winners of Prompt 2.

Things to note: From this prompt onwards all participants will receive the scores for each criterion.

Winner(1st place)

Bookloving_pearl

Title: 9/10 โ€“ Simple, but beautiful! I have been DYING to know what this font is, I can't seem to find it anywhere! I love the text placement and also the warp that you've added to the text as well! The overlay fits perfectly and is very see-through and I'm able to read it clearly!

Subtitle: 8/10 โ€“ The placement, the font, it's all done really well! I love how you didn't make the font super small and make it all go in one line; instead, you put it into two separate lines which looks really amazing! The overlay to match the title also looks really good!

Colour Scheme: 14/15 โ€“ I think you could have added some blues to match the amethyst color, but I love the colour scheme! The black and purple go well together as well as the small hints of pink!

Fonts/Effects Used: 15/15 โ€“ I...I honestly have nothing to say about this. Everything that was done was done amazingly and it's made the cover very pleasing to the eye!

Relevance: 14/15 โ€“ I'd say the only thing I would be thrown off of, without the title, would be if the story was a space or gem story; either way, the big amethyst gem in the middle is definitely relevant to the prompt!

Creativity: 20/20 โ€“ The designer has been very creative with this and has found a common ground between gems and astrology to be able to make this amazing masterpiece! From the background to the main centrepiece, to the font, everything screams creativity.

Personal Enjoyment: 15/15 โ€“ I absolutely love this cover! I'd say just work on making sure that readers understand the main topic of the cover, but apart from that, well done!

Total Score: 95/100

1st Runner-up (2nd place)

AntisocialAlien00

Title: 8/10 โ€“ I just found this font and I'm enamoured by it! I love how the text blends into the background, but I think it could be enhanced a bit more and made bigger just so that it's more visible to the reader.

Subtitle: 9/10 โ€“ These are one of the few rare cases in which I'm okay with a font not being in serif or sans serif, although I do think that it should be a bit more visible, like the title, it's beautiful! The colours match really well!

Colour Scheme: 14/15 โ€“ It's an overhaul of blue, which I don't mind! I love the addition of Cinderella(?) and I think it matches really well with your cover! I also love the subtle whites and the contrast of Cinderella's blonde/white-ish hair!

Fonts/Effects Used: 13/15 โ€“ Apart from making the font more visible, I can't say that I have any complaints! I love the addition of the sapphire above the 'I' and also the addition of the jewel right across from Cinderella's palm, which makes it look like the gem is coming out of her hand. I do think that the picture is a bit pixelated (but it could just be from copying into the chapter, which is why I didn't take points off).

Relevance: 15/15 โ€“ I'd say that this is very relevant to the prompt! I can very clearly see the big gem by Cinderella, and the little, mischievous sapphire above the letter adds a clever hint in the cover, which is a really good addition! Using the princess was also a good idea to keep your cover from being bland.

Creativity: 17/20 โ€“ This designer was very creative with the task and I can see that from using the photo model, the colour scheme, and the use of sapphire above the letter, which most designers tend to not use because of the editing and all that.

Personal Enjoyment: 14/15 โ€“ I really like the way that this designer made the cover! I can see a lot of hard work was put into it and I really think that it's super beautiful! Nice job!

Total Score: 90/100

2nd Runner-up (3rd place)

-xannedcastle-

Title: 9/10 โ€“ I love the title! It's simple and the placement is done very well! It is a bit difficult to read and I had to squint to read it, but I really like it! It's common, but it works well with the theme!

Subtitle: 7/10 โ€“ The placement of the subtitle is a bit wonky, in both of the covers, however, I can see that the place the designer put them in is the best place since I also couldn't have found a better place. The overlays make it difficult to read, though.

Colour Scheme: 13/15 โ€“ The colours that the designer chose were really good! Seeing as they used the moonstone, I love the addition of rainbows, more prominently seen in the second cover. While the white overlays make it difficult to see the font, it works well with the theme!

Fonts/Effects Used: 13/15 โ€“ As I said before, I don't think making the font an overlay (or what seems like an overlay) was very legible, but you could do a white colour and then a rainbow splash of colour to show the moonstone. I love the font, though! I think the block font does well! The effects are gorgeous too!

Relevance: 13/15 โ€“ The cover is very relevant to the prompt and even does a good job to make that relevance not too open but not too overt either, which was really good on the designer's part!

Creativity: 20/20 โ€“ I can see that the designer has put a lot of work into these two covers and I really love them, especially the backgrounds chosen and the tie-dye colours in the second one. The scratches also make for a good texture!

Personal Enjoyment: 13/15 โ€“ I really loved this cover! I can see it being used for a graphic portfolio or review shop, or even a book! Nice work!

Total Score: 88/100

Title: 6/10 โ€“ The title is gorgeous; however, I couldn't quite understand what it was saying. I was stuck between "demontold" and "demonloid". I do like gradient, though, and the title seems to be pushed up a little, which also looks really good with a jewel aesthetic

Subtitle: 10/10 โ€“ I really like the design of the subtitle and I think that the font looks really good and matches the theme!

Colour Scheme: 13/15 โ€“ The colour scheme is absolutely gorgeous! I love the gold and green used together! I do think that there could have been some white highlights, or even a light green highlight used to accentuate the gem, but it's very beautiful!

Fonts/Effects Used: 12/15 โ€“ The only issue I have with the font is the eligibility, as I had trouble reading the title, but apart from that, everything was done beautifully! The chain effect was really cool, although I do think it could have been weaved between the letters. I love the overlay for the subtitle so that it doesn't draw too much attention away from the main title.

Relevance: 10/15 โ€“ As beautiful as the cover is, I don't think it's as relevant to the prompt only because most of the focus of the cover is drawn to the Egyptian theme, however, the jewel is present and therefore it has some relevance to the prompt!

Creativity: 20/20 โ€“ The designer of this cover has done a wonderful job applying their creativity to the prompt! I can definitely see all the thought that has gone into this cover which makes it very pleasing to the eye!

Personal Enjoyment: 13/15 โ€“ Personally, I really liked this cover! If I were to write a book with an Egyptian-like theme, I would definitely use this cover! I think, to enhance the jewel, probably make it brighter than everything else, or you can also make the eye bright as well!

Total Score: 84/100

NameisRika

Title: 7/10 โ€“ I love the placement! I don't usually see text written vertically, but I think it looks really good! The use of a Cinzel is also really nice, as is the colour! It's a bit too bright for the background, but it's good!

Subtitle: 7/10 โ€“ The font is a bit too small and too curly; a block or serif font would look more aesthetically pleasing, but I like the colour! The swirls are also a really good idea, as they match the main font! The colour could have also been a light purple, but white is good!

Colour Scheme: 10/15 โ€“ I love the purples; they all match really well with the colour of the nail polish on the girl's hand! I don't think that the background goes very well, though, and I think that could have been swapped out with a different background, perhaps a night sky or galactic theme.

Fonts/Effects Used: 8/15 โ€“ As I said before, I LOVE seeing Cinzel being used more! I also love the effects around the amethyst gem as well! I do think that the placement of the title could have been more centred instead of to the side unless the hands were in the other direction. I also think that instead of a glow, a different effect could have been used or the glow could be dimmed a little.

Relevance: 11/15 โ€“ I think the cover draws more attention to the hands than the amethyst, but it also leaves the viewer with a question of what makes the amethyst so powerful and captivates them as well!

Creativity: 15/20 โ€“ I'd say that the designer worked really hard and well with this cover, as did all of the designers! I really like the use of darkening the amethyst as it brings an air of dark mystery to the gem, and the hands underneath it further serve to feed my intrigue.

Personal Enjoyment: 13/15 โ€“ I really like this cover! I think it would make really good awards cover! I'd say just change the background and centre the font, and it'll look great! However, it is also amazing just the way it is right now โ€“ simplistic and lovely! Well done!

Total Score: 71/100

-Tura-

Title: 7/10 โ€“ It's simple and gets straight to the point, which I like! I think a little extra could have been added to spice up the title, or maybe use a different word to describe an emerald, but it's pretty good! The font size and spacing are done nicely! The only thing I would suggest would be to blend the font a bit more into the background or add some colour or an overlay.

Subtitle: 7/10 โ€“ A general rule of thumb is to keep the author's name and subtitle in a serif or sans serif font because cursive fonts are a little difficult to read, but it's good! The placing is done perfectly and, as with the title, maybe just try and blend it in a bit more.

Colour Scheme: 12/15 โ€“ I love the extra books that you added and the real-life stories that you allude to with the text on the spine! I also love that you went for a brown/musky old attic aesthetic! I think with emerald, it really makes the jewel pop out! I do think that the background could have been a musky brown as well, or maybe a textured light tan, or even a background that you can find on Unsplash or any other free site that has old photo frames (which is the vibe that I'm getting)

Fonts/Effects Used: 10/15 โ€“ The fonts are beautiful! As I said before, they could be blended with an overlay, gradient, or colour splash, but I love the use of the royal/medieval-like font. I also really like the sparkles by the gems! I think a texture overlay or a colour overlay in general would help the gems pop out more, but overall nice work!

Relevance: 15/15 โ€“ The topic of the cover is very clear, as shown by the emerald crown and the fallen emeralds beside it. I think the designer did a great job making it overt but subtle at the same time, as the emeralds could allude to many genres.

Creativity: 16/20 โ€“ The only reason I took points off was that I think the font could use some work, as well as blending in the fonts of the text on the book spine, but everything else is really amazing!

Personal Enjoyment: 13/15 โ€“ I really liked this cover! I can see it being used as a cover for many genres: romance, fantasy, random, teen fiction, etc. The designer did a great job following the prompt and conveying many different viewpoints in this piece! Nice job!

Total Score: 80/100

Title: 8/10 โ€“ The title is very simple and I love the font, however, I did have an issue understanding the text at first glance. I do think the designer could have blended it better, but it looks good!

Subtitle: 9/10 โ€“ My only suggestion is to make the subtitle smaller and maybe increase the letter spacing, but apart from that, it's really good! Again, could be blended into the background, but it's not a big issue!

Colour Scheme: 12/15 โ€“ I think there could have been some additions of a few lighter blues, but the colour scheme looks great! Especially for the specific gem chosen!

Fonts/Effects Used: 12/15 โ€“ I love the effect underneath the gem and the font is beautiful; a regal type. As I said before, I think blending in the font with the background would look better, or maybe doing splashes of light blue over the white text, but otherwise, it's gorgeous!

Relevance: 14/15 โ€“ I think this is very relevant to the prompt! The jewel is right at the centre, and while I would suggest having maybe tinier gems circling the main gem, it's beautiful regardless and fits in well with the whole theme!

Creativity: 14/20 โ€“The designer went for a simplistic design, which suits the gem well, although it might be a bit too simple for some, it's still beautiful and gives more attention to the gem itself than the text!

Personal Enjoyment: 14/15 โ€“I really liked this cover, especially the background and gem chosen, and I think the designer did great when blending those together! The only thing I can suggest is to try and blend the font a bit better or add some overlays/textures to do so, but otherwise nice job!

Total Score: 83/100

MaddyMikealson

Title: 4/10 โ€“ The title is kind of hard to read. I think it says 'sadelite' but I'm not sure if that's a word...perhaps the designer meant "satellite?" The colour blends in a bit too much with the background. I do like the warp, though, however, I think it could have been less prevalent.ย

Subtitle: 6/10 โ€“ The subtitle is really good! However, the font that the designer has chosen is a bit hard to read. The white colour blends with the white in the background. I think a shadow would have been a good addition, or maybe a different colour altogether!

Colour Scheme: 15/15 โ€“ The colour scheme is gorgeous! I love the blues and whites mixed together, and I can't really think of a better scheme or a different colour to match this photo.

Fonts/Effects Used: 7/15 โ€“ I think the shading for Ariana is a bit too pixelated and the colour burns side when an overlay would have been better. I do like the font used for the title, though! The text, for both the title and subtitle, blends in too much with the background and the subtitle is hard to read on its own due to its size. I think maybe an overlay of white would have been good, or maybe a B-Level embosses for the text. Also, the smoke looks a bit too fake. Try blending it in a little or making it a paler colour.

Relevance: 13/15 โ€“ The jewel is subtle, which I like! It took a moment for me to notice where it was, but it's a very nice addition instead of just using one jewel!

Creativity: 17/20 โ€“ It's simple, something that I've seen on many idol-based covers before, but at the same time, it's unique, and I really like it! The designer did a wonderful job with the colour scheme and blending the idol into the background!

Personal Enjoyment: 12/15 โ€“ I really liked this cover! If I were writing a pop-idol story, I would definitely use this! Awesome job on the editing of the person and background!

Total Score: 74/100

Title: 4/10 โ€“ It's simple, which I like, and not hard to read at all! However, the font doesn't match at all with the theme and falls a bit flat with the default font.

Subtitle: 3/10 โ€“ While it has a good fit on the cover, the subtitle is placed in a spot that draws more attention to it rather than the title and is a bit bulky. The font is also very overt and the same as the title.

Colour Scheme: 2/15 โ€“ There isn't really a colour scheme...there is certainly a gradient with the background which I like, but apart from that the colour scheme could definitely use some work. Black and white go well with red, but the execution can be worked on.

Fonts/Effects Used: 2/15 โ€“ The fonts used arethe default fonts on nearly all photo editing websites and there aren't anyeffects apart from the gradient that I can see. I would suggest playing aroundwith fonts on DaFont and Fontspace to see what font would fit best for thetheme, as with jewels maybe a more royal theme would work. Overlays are alsouseful to highlight certain aspects as are blending tools such as colour burn, soft light, B-Level Emboss, and others.

Relevance: 14/15 โ€“ This is very relevant to the prompt and has the jewel as the main piece, which is very good! I do think there could be other ways the designer could have incorporated the rubies, but apart from that, it's very relevant.

Creativity: 5/20 โ€“ I think that there could be more that could have been added to this design. I'm not sure that the aspect ratio is correct for the design, either. I think the designer could have added maybe a face claim or object claim to the graphic and then added the jewel as well, but it's pretty good! If it were a sticker, it would be a great sticker!

Personal Enjoyment: 7/15 โ€“ This graphic reminded me of when I first started graphic designing, and while it could use some improvement (like all graphics), it's still very good! Great work!

Total Score: 37/100

L0VELIN3

Title: 9/10 โ€“ Even though it's pretty simple, just something about adding the colour 'red' even though redundant (as rubies are generally red) makes the book more intriguing. What does the red signify? Is it important? Maybe the ruby isn't red? I really like the mystery behind this title!

Subtitle: 7/10 โ€“ The font is a bit thin and therefore difficult to read, but the size and blending go well! While I'm not a total fan of complete white font, the blending in the picture suits the white font!

Colour Scheme: 14/15 โ€“ I honestly can't think of a better colour scheme! Red and black are beautiful together and create such a villainous vibe that I really like them! I would say maybe a white overlay would be a great addition, but it's not necessary!

Fonts/Effects Used: 13/15 โ€“ The textures and overlays used in the photo are amazing! But they can also be a bit too much, especially the swirls. Maybe it's just a subjective thing, though. I think the font looks amazing and really works well with the cover! I would suggest blending the font a bit more but it looks fine just white as well! I also like the addition of the red glow behind the text.

Relevance: 12/15 โ€“ Yep, this is very relevant to both the jewel and the prompt! Admittedly, it took a while for me to actually spot the jewel, but this cover is very relevant to the prompt that was given!

Creativity: 20/20 โ€“ I can tell that the designer has put a lot of work into this design and I'm very impressed by the results! It's creative, especially the woman's hands that can be vaguely seen! As I've said before, it gives a whole new, mysterious vibe to the story that makes the observer want to explore more!

Personal Enjoyment: 11/15 โ€“ I honestly really like this cover! The overlays and texture seem, in my opinion, a bit too much, but apart from that, it has a simplistic/manipulated vibe that I like! I'm also a huge fan of the font and the villainous mystery behind it!

Total Score: 86/100

Anuxhkxshxrmx

Title: 7/10 โ€“ A bit overused, but not bad! I like the ruggedness of the font and the colour, as it matches well with the colour scheme of the whole cover! However, the colour is a bit too bright and the text placement could be better. The letters are also too bolded/mushed together so deciphering the word makes it a bit difficult.

Subtitle: 6/10 โ€“ I love the boldness of the subtitle and I think that the colour matches well with the character background! I also like the contrast between black and white! I don't think that the font is the best choice; I would suggest a serif or sans serif font for subtitles, or all caps. Only in certain cases, such as for Teen Fiction books, would I say that a display font is fine.ย

Colour Scheme: 14/15 โ€“ Woah! There are a bunch of colours on this cover that I absolutely adore! I love the rainbow vibes that I'm getting! Even though it may not exactly fit the stereotype of a green/emerald theme, it certainly fits well with the emerald shamrock in the middle!

Fonts/Effects Used: 9/15 โ€“ I love the colour effects! All the lens flares and splashes of different colours are amazing, as is the main model! As I said before, the fonts could use some work, and the shamrock in the middle, while beautiful, isn't blended in very well and looks more like it was cut and pasted. I would suggest trying to blend that in a bit more!

Relevance: 12/15 โ€“ I think that this cover is very relevant! I can see the gems and they're not too overt or covert. The colors are beautiful and all tie into the main show and highlight the gems! Sometimes the colors may overlap the gems, but it's still very beautiful!

Creativity: 20/20 โ€“ The designer has put a lot of hard work into this cover, as I can see from the picture itself, the shamrock emerald, and the text placement. They did a very good job with this!

Personal Enjoyment: 14/15 โ€“ I really like this cover! I think that, as a person who loves colours, this really appeals to me! It's bright and cheery and the shamrock hiding the woman's lips also adds a flair of mystery as well!
