Cara
December 3, 2022
6:30 PM
"Wait a minute. You did what?!" Arianna stopped flat ironing her hair and looked into the camera at Katie and Cara. They'd been on Facetime talking about the past few days and what Cara did.
"I don't even smoke cigarettes but you're making me want to go buy a whole pack Cara" Katie shook her head and went back to cooking her dinner.
Cara sighed and shrugged her shoulders "Here yall go judging me again. Just forget I even brought it up matter of fact I will call yall later i need to finish getting ready" she pressed the end call button at the top of the screen and placed her phone on do no disturb. Cara leaned closer to the Vanity's mirror and applied her Fenty Chocolate Carmel lip cream. "Tired of everybody at this point" she mumbled to herself.
"I mean honestly they have a point"
Cara rolled her eyes and looked at the reflection in the mirror who stood behind her with one hand planted on her shoulder while the other hand ran swiftly through her curly hair. "Including you too" Cara moved her shoulder away from the hand and got up going to her bathroom sink to retrieve her pill bottle. She had done a good job this week with taking her meds, it kept her sane for the time being.
That being a result after Her recent break down in the shower a few nights ago. She found herself that night sitting in the corner of her shower letting the water running over her bare body. Tears streaming down her face as she let all of her feelings out. If it weren't for Katie coming to check on her like usual, she probably would've stayed in that shower for hours and hours.
Not to mention she also haven't spoken to Deion since the night she found out about Chris's death. This only added to her mix of emotions and she eventually ended up blocking his number. She was tired of him talking to her whenever he felt like it. The last thing she needed was for her to become attached to someone and then be ghosted.
Her doorbell ringing knocked her out of her thoughts as she blinked a few times realizing that she was still standing near the sink with the pills still in her hand. "It's alright Cara, you're doing the right thing" she gave herself a pep talk before swallowing the pills and going in her room to get the glass of water from her dresser to wash them down with.
Leo, who was reading off of her weird energy followed closely around the room and then eventually downstairs. Cara took one last look in the mirror near the door and made sure he outfit was to her liking. Once she was done she inhaled softly and opened the door where Michael stood with a her favorite flowers, African Violets, sitting in an Lalique vase.
"Thank You! These are beautiful" she smiled taking the bouquet from him. To be honest she was amazed that he took the time to go find them. They were hard to find around this time of the year and even more expensive. She had mentioned they were her favorite flowers when she went to the 'Business Dinner' Michael invited her to last week.
"No problem, Beautiful Woman deserve flowers everyday right?" He smiled and adjusted the Gucci cuff links he wore.
"Mmm that sounds about right" She nodded and placed the flowers on the coffee table in her living room. "Alright I'm ready" she grabbed her purse and followed him out the door, making sure to lock it.
Michael had well mannerisms from him opening and closing her door, to the consideration and concentration when speaking to her and even his body language. His confidence was through the roof and it was noticeable. Yet, he didn't let any of that get to his head he was just a regular Business man with a huge heart.
During the car ride to the lounge the two of them conversed about how they were doing since the last time they went out. Cara, of course keeping her answers as clean as she could. Not sure if it was the pills or the actually atmosphere but she felt very relaxed today. It could just be the thought of trying to get over Dee and forgetting all about Chris.
UV Rooftop
Downtown Chicago
7:23 PM
Cara sat her glass down and sat up in her seat. The vibe in the lounge had been great so far. The Rooftop views, fast service and great music really caught her attention. In this exact moment she mustered up the response she could find to Michael's last question. 'Why is a Woman like you still single?'
"Well Umm I really don't know" she let out a nervous laugh. "I mean I pretty much have been in the dating pool but just so many unfortunate things with diff-" She looked over Michael's shoulder and seen Deion sitting at the bar looking in her direction with a wicked grin on his face. She knew she had taken her pills earlier so this wasn't in anyway an hallucination.
Her smile dropped down to a frown when she seen that a woman had come to sit next to him at the bar. The way he acknowledged her made Cara believe that they came together. Her mood completely changed.
"You okay?" Michael's voice snapped her out of her gaze from the bar.
"Uhh Yeah I'm fine. This champagne is pretty strong" She looked down at the glass that was filled every time she sat it down, without even asking. Michael nodded at the waiter and motioned that they didn't need anymore.
"Hmm you seem to have a lot of control over the people here. They've been treating you right since we first walked in" Cara spoke up trying her hardest to keep her attention on him.
"Well that's because they work for me. I own a few lounges and other properties in the Downtown area" Michael could see that Cara had a uncomfortable look on her face. "You sure you don't want to leave?"
Cara quickly shook her head no. She wasn't about to let Deion mess up her night nor provoke her to fall in to her wicked ways. "No I'm fine, I thought I seen someone I knew that's all" she looked over at the bar again. This time Deion had his hand on the female's lower back while he whispered in her ear. The female displayed a huge smile on her face clearly enjoying whatever he was telling her.
"Well you didn't get to finish" he hinted at the question.
"Ohh right. Like I was saying I'm single because I've only met some men who weren't clearly ready for me and my love. I have a super strong heart so when I fall for someone I'm all in and really expect the same from my spouse" Cara had felt like she used most of the time they were together only talking about herself. She had wondered why a man like Michael was still single. Men usually his age were married, especially with the amount of money he had.
"But enough about me. Why are you single I figured you would be married when I first seen you" She picked her glass back up this down she downed the rest of the champagne in the glass, she wanted this buzz she was feeling to last for the rest of the night.
"I mean I usually move around a lot but would love to find a woman that's centered in one place. Someone to be my 'home', my comfort person, therapist all in one. However I only run in to Gold diggers, Wannabe Sugar babies and women who don't have their head on straight. Which is why I was surprised when I met you. You're very mature for your age." Michael still couldn't believe that Cara was only twenty-one.
Cara laughed "What if I was a gold digger?"
Michael leaned back some with a cocky smirk on his face. "You're not a gold digger at least from what I've seen. You don't get excited or amused by the money at all. The designer clothes, my car, my budget for my home all of that you reacted in the most calm way. A way in which I was grateful for."
The two of them sat in the lounge for about forty more minutes before finally leaving. Cara was able to really relax and open up a little more when she seen Deion and the new mystery woman leave about twenty minutes ago. On the ride back to Cara's house Michael insisted on setting up another date to see her. With Cara's schedule for the next few weeks she told him that she would confirm as soon as possible. In reality she wanted to wait a while before meeting with him again just to make sure she is really feeling the vibe and not just finding a way to fill in a empty space.
"I had a great time with you tonight. I really do enjoy how much of a gentleman you are" Cara looked down at her left hand in which Michael was holding.
"No problem that's just the way I am" Michael was smooth but she couldn't truly believe it yet. Everybody had another side to them according to Cara. As much as he wanted to kiss her he didn't want her to be taken out of her comfort zone.
They said their goodbyes and Cara got out going to her front door. She briefly watched as he drove away before fully going inside and placing her back against the door. Cara pulled off her knee high Louboutin boots and held them in her hand as she prepared to take them up stairs and place them back in her closet. However she didn't hear or see Leo which was odd.
"Leo come on boy" she called out but didn't get a response. She smacked her lips and set the boots down as she turned the living room light on, noticing that her flowers were gone. She headed into the kitchen to make sure he wasn't by the back door better yet outside, his favorite place to be. "Leo come on- Owww what the fuck" she winced feeling someone grab a handful of her hair and pull her in a direction.
"Ex-Military!? Special forces to be fucking exact" Deion's familiar voice rang throughout the house as he practically dragged her to the back room she had. "Just so happen to be the Sheriff as well?" He stopped directly in front of the picture Cara had hanging up of her dad that Deion hadn't seen before. "You working with the police or sum? Don't lie to me Cara!"
Cara was extremely pissed. Not because he was dragging her but because she had just gotten her hair done earlier, she was the least of bit worried about Deion and his assumptions of her. "Can you please let go of my hair. You're hurting me"She voiced in the calmest tone. "Please Deion" she tried her hardest to cry, but was on able to squeeze out one tear.
Dee moved his right hand to her arm gripping it and finally removed his left hand from her hair. In a split second Cara used her free hand to grab one of the glass photo frames off the wall and chucked it at him which resulted in him letting her arm go. "Are you fucking stupid? You know who the fuck I am?" She continued by grabbing another one and hitting him disregarding the broken glass underneath her until she stepped on a piece.
"Why you hit me with that glass?" Deion looked down at the cuts on his arm and the specs of blood on his fresh white tee.
"You should've never touched me! And what did you do to my dog? I hate you!" Cara sat on the floor scrunching her face us as she slowly pulled the piece of glass out of her foot which was only about an centimeter long. Both Cara and Deion catching their breath could be heard until Cara got up and limped back in the kitchen. Deion followed her and leaned on the kitchen island watching her frantically look around the counter top. "I put all your knives away"
Cara turned around and mugged him. "That's okay I got something else for you" she moved closer to him so she could head up stairs.
"You mean that glock upstairs? Yea I hid that too" He looked out the glass sliding doors that led to the outside patio. "I ain't kill ya little dog either he outside" Deion nodded his head in the direction.
Cara scoffed "If anything is wrong with him I'm calling PETA on you." She pressed her index finger to the middle of his chest.
Deion ignored her and brought his hands up to her waist picking her up so he could placed her on the island. "Stop fucking kicking me like a damn toddler, I'm tryna help you out" he grabbed her foot looking at the cut, it wasn't too bad but it needed to be cleaned and wrapped to avoid an infection. "Stay right here"
"Stop being a baby it doesn't hurt that bad" Cara looked up at Dee while applying a cotton ball covered in Peroxide to his cuts.
After calming down Dee helped Cara clean the cut on her foot and now she was cleaning up the cuts on his arm. "You aint have to take your shirt off for this" she couldn't help but gaze at the different tattoos that covered his stomach. "64th and Normal That's where you grew up? They teach you to drag women through the house over there?" she rolled her eyes.
"They teach you to work with the police where you from?" He retorted.
"Shut Up. The sheriff you seen that night, that's my dad. You don't see the resemblance? Use your head, why would I randomly have a picture of a man on my wall" her tone came off as sarcastic but she was serious that would be an odd thing to do.
"So why did you tell me he was sick when I asked about your parents?" Deion looked up from his arm and at her face. She looked unsure if she wanted to answer him.
"He was sick. He's fine now end of discussion" She didn't want to have this conversation with him.
"Why?" he edged the conversation in a manner she had did when he didn't want to talk about his past.
"Because I don't wanna talk about it so stop" she placed the cotton ball on the sink and pushed herself up from of the edge of the tub where she sat.
"You gone walk away when I'm talking to you?" Deion grabbed her waist pulling her in front of him so she was now standing between his legs.
"Yeah because why do you do that?" she looked away from him.
"Do what? I aint answering you if you can't look me in my eyes Cara" he demanded.
"You just come around get to know me, we start vibing and then out of no where you disappear. Like what's that all about? Then you just randomly show up at my house"
"Ion be meaning to do that Ma. I just be going with the flow and like I told you before I don't really show emotions or anything like that. Why you ain't say nothing before? I thought you respected the space and shit" Deion hands moved to the back of her thighs pulling her closer to him.
Cara placed her hands on his shoulders and looked down at him. "I shouldn't have to tell you that, you should've known. I hate being ghosted that pisses me off especially when we're both grown you could've just told me you were busy or don't like being super close to people. I would've never started liking you then"
"Word? How much you like me?" he moved his hands up to her ass gripping it firmly.
The sexual tension between the two was always high whenever they were around each other. Cara wanted to fight it so bad her mind telling her no and to leave him alone but her body telling her yes and to submit to his touch. Cara chose to follow what her body was saying and she stepped back and held his hands so he could stand up.
His hand found it's way around her neck as he pulled her in to a kiss. Cara walked backwards out of the bathroom to her room never pulling her lips away from his. Deion allowed Cara's tongue to slip in his mouth before sucking on it. Cara moaned against his lips and reached down slipping her hands in his sweats. She smiled feeling how hard he was already.
Cara laid back on the bed and pulled her shirt from over her head and lifted her bottom half to help him pull her pants off.
Deion stood there admiring her body it was alluring in his eyes. He latched his lips to her neck leading down to her breast. Showing attention to both of them while his hand moved down to her clit rubbing it in a circular steady motion through the fabric of her panties.
The way he touched her body always sent her overboard. He could do something as small as touch her thigh while driving and she could feel her pussy throbbing. He groaned kissing down her stomach "Fuck Cara, I aint even in you yet and you about to make me nut" he mumbled against her kisses.
He pulled her lace panties off and threw them across the room smirking. She must've had these on for that lame ass nigga tonight, I should beat her ass. He thought to himself
Cara sat up on her elbows looking at him "Wait Dee." Her big brown eyes gazed into his. "Giving you my body is similar to giving you my heart if you play with it. I would have to fuck you up"
Deion nodded wrapping locking his arms around her legs. "I wouldn't do you like that at all Cara, Trust me"
