Deion

November 26, 2022

Deion didn't care that Cara snuck in his house, he was only focused on what exactly was she looking for. Any of his dirty work was done far away from home, the way it should be. He had a sense of eerie since he hoped that she wasn't trying to piece together what he had did to Chris. He was persistent with making sure nothing led back to him.

Dee held on to her wrists tighter as she tried to break away from his grip. "I promise I wasn't in there" she continued to lie to him which only made him angrier in the moment.

"I could smell you in my office, my closet and even in the kitchen.. That same Prada perfume you had on in that restaurant" Deion paid close attention to every detail about Cara especially her perfumes and smells she adored.

Cara was stuck and didn't have any words to form at him mentioning her perfume. She was honestly scared since she hadn't been caught ever before. Usually people didn't have enough sense to keep up with the things she would do.

Deion finally let go of her wrist "You wanna do some sneaky shit? Make sure you don't have any type of scents on you first. That's the first rule" he moved her off of his lap once he felt his mood change. He honestly didn't want to hurt her.

Cara's eyes examined his body language change as he stood up heading straight to the door without saying anything else to her. She jumped up from the couch and went over to the door sliding her body in front of it so he couldn't leave.

"Move Cara I got shit to do" His tone different from a few minutes ago.

Cara couldn't let him leave until she asked her question that roamed her mind. "Wait who is that in the picture at your house?"

"My ex. Now move" he rudely demanded and frowned when she continued standing in his way.

"Ouu she's testing you. I like her already"

Deion glanced over at the voice coming from the stairs. Keisha sat there with a smirk on her face and her legs crossed. Watching them closely as if this was a tv show or movie. Cara looked over at the stairs and then back at Deion "Hello? Do you hear me. I'm so sorry I should've never went in your house"

Shaking his head he interrupted her apology "It ain't about you going in my crib Cara. I just think me and you two different people and I don't want you to get hurt in the ending" He really was only saying this because most women fell for this same scenario. By most women he meant Keisha fell for it.

These words only made Cara more interested in him. Her stupidity and hope of thinking she could take on the challenge filled her head up. "No I think we're fine. I just haven't met someone so introverted like myself. I just- I don't know why but I feel like we have a connection." Little did she know he was damn near her evil twin, he was just way more brutal than her.

Deion grabbed her hand going upstairs and straight in her room. "Let me show you something" Cara followed without any hesitation of what he was going to do. When he went in to the big closet that led to her bathroom he stood by the large window and then let her hand go. "You know I could see you whenever you by this window right?"

Cara peaked out the window looking straight ahead at his house and then she turned back to him. "Mhm, I know that. I've seen you a few times"

"So why you ain't cover it yet? That don't scare you?"

Cara smiled "Well no it doesn't scare me. Also if I was to cover it then I wouldn't be able to see you in that window right there" she pointed to the small window on the side of the house where his home office was located. This was where she could see him most nights and sometimes mornings.

The two sat in silence with a intense stare occurring. In a way he was slightly amused at how she was okay being watched or better yet her doing the watching. He probably was wrong about her this whole time. Seems like she wasn't innocent like he thought. Any other woman would've been uncomfortable in this moment but her, well she was different she was enjoying the moment.

"I need you to go somewhere with me real quick" He licked over his lips.

Cara shrugged "Okay cool" without another word she made her way back out of the room and downstairs so she could go put her Uggs back on.

Deion looked down at Leo who was becoming fond of him. "She crazy as fuck ain't she ?" He spoke to the dog as if he was going to respond back. He let out a small sigh as he made his way downstairs. He seen Cara slightly bending over as she pulled at the back of her boots making sure he feet were comfortably inside. "So where we going?"

Deion ignored her question and reached behind her grabbing her ass. "Yo shit real or you one of them Bbl warriors?" His question made her chuckle but he was so serious. Something about a woman not acknowledging and loving her natural body turned him off.

Cara smacked her lips. "Don't even try to play me like that. You know damn well it's natural you see the way it move" she removed his hand and opened the front door.

Deion found it funny how she didn't even know where they were headed but she was excited to just go along. He followed closely behind her while looking left and right as they crossed the street.

When he got in the driver's seat of his car he could feel Cara looking at his side profile. "Wassup Ma. Why you looking at me like that?" He started the car and backed out of the driveway.

"Why are you so...Emotionless? Like I don't see too many emotions from you maybe a smile here or there but other than that" She crossed her legs and placed her hands in between them, something she would do whenever she was cold.

"Ion know? That's just how I am"

"But why?" Cara pushed the question.

"That's just how I am. I grew up to be Heartless. I don't show too many emotions and I don't trust nobody"

"Interesting" she nodded and looked out the window.

"What you mean?" He asked briefly glancing at her and then back ahead.

"I just find it interesting how you just said you don't trust nobody but yet the same person who snuck into your house is sitting in your car...in your presence" She reached in her purse pulling out her lip gloss and applying a layer.

"You right I should pull over and beat yo ass. Then drive you to a far ass ditch and dump yo body there huh?"

She got excited "You said Eat my-"

"No Beat, with a B" He tried his best not to laugh at her being so unserious.

Cara fake gasped "You shouldn't do that because that wouldn't be nice of you. Besides I would make sure I haunt you every night if you did that"

Deion flexed his shoulders getting more comfortable in his seat. 'I got enough dead bodies haunting me' He thought to himself.

The drive to the destination took them about thirty minutes. Most of that time Cara was on her phone working, setting up showings and even texting Michael on the side. Deion on the other hand was deep in his thoughts during this drive. He often spaced out and had to remember he was driving.

Pulling around the back of the building that didn't display a proper address, he cut the engine and reached in the backseat pulling out three stacks equalling out to $30,000.

Cara locked her phone and looked around a little fear finally running through her body. The back of the building only had one double door that lead to the woods. She wasn't used to the area at all. "Dee where are we?"

Ignoring her question he got out of the car and went in the back door. Leaving Cara there, pondering on what he may have been doing.

Cara

Cara crossed her arms over her chest clearly frustrated and even more bored since her phone had died. "I'm about to leave his ass. Watch this" she mumbled to herself and sat up looking in the cup holders and then in the center console.

"He took the key with him Cara, Duh"

She placed her hand on the door handle saying a quick prayer before getting out. The distance between the car and the back of the building seemed so far when in reality it wasn't. Her heartbeat continued to race with each step she took.

The sound of something or someone running up behind her made her quickly turn around ready to swing. She exhaled heavily and dropped her hands when she realized it was just the leaves on the concrete ground blowing around.

"Aww okay. Almost had me scared" she turned back around only to see Deion standing there. "Damn! You couldn't make a sound or something just sneaking up on me and shit" she held her chest.

"Who told you to get out?" His eyes looked down at her hands. "What all did you touch?"

"Well the fact that you had me waiting for an almost an hour is what made me get out. I didn't touch anything I literally just got out"

He nodded "Good. Reach in my pocket and get the key"

"Why?" She scrunched her face up.

"You wanna go home right? Just do it" he frowned.

Cara didn't say anything else she just did as he asked and pulled out the key. She noticed he went to the passenger side and wrapped the fabric of his sweater around his hands before pulling the door open. She was far from stupid she knew what he was doing.

On the way back home Dee instructed her on the directions to get back to the suburb. Despite the many questions she had in her head she decided it was best to just leave it alone, atleast until she was home.

"What now?" She rolled her eyes seeing the multiple cars in her driveway. It was almost midnight and she just desperately wanted to get some sleep. Arianna's car, an unfamiliar car, and a 'Cook County Sheriff' squad car all sat in the driveway.

"Pull into the garage" Dee instructed. Cara nodded but couldn't help but glance through the tints at the 6'3, broad man standing on her porch. His eyes glued to the car she was in. She knew for a fact this would be a long night.

Once they were in the garage she quickly got out and held the key up so he could get it. She smacked her lips when he shook his head no. "Bring it inside" he said before walking in the house leaving her behind. She walked further into the house smirking at the layout she just recently seen.

"Deion I don't know what you got going on but I don't want to be apart of it" she walked into the kitchen. She watched as he made a type of mixture that resembled soap but it included bleach.

"I'm about to go to the studio so ima see you tomorrow" he shrugged not even taking his eyes off of what he was doing.

"Whatever" Cara tossed the key on the table and headed to the front door. She took a deep breath bracing herself to be bombarded with questions.

She walked out the door and headed across the street.
Her eyes focused on the sheriff badge so she could avoid the harsh stare coming her way.

"Where have you been Cara?"

"Dad you seem to forget that I'm grown. Why are you here?" She approached him giving him a hug.

He squeezed her tight, as she was his only thing left in life to live for. "I had to come out here because you wouldn't answer your phone while everyone was worried about you. Especially with what happened to Chris"

" what do you mean?" Cara pulled back from the hug nodded. She hadn't thought about Chris since her birthday and to be honest she didn't care too much about him.

"Well he was found dead"

Oddly enough those words didn't deject her. She felt absolutely nothing in her heart when getting this news. Instead of responding she just looked around in disbelief. "Let's go inside and talk about it. I'm cold"she didn't want to be outside talking about this at all.

She opened her front door and moved to the side so her father could go in first. She glanced over at Dee's house and seen he was indeed watching her.
