Cara

4:15PM

Cara walked back and forth in her office on a call. She had been on the phone longer than expected but money came first so she didn't mind it. "Well let's just reach out to their company and see if they are willing to negotiate the pricing of the homes in that area." Although Thanksgiving was two days away Cara still found a way to work and she knew the agency would be even more busy during the Holidays especially Christmas.

Fifteen minutes later, Her call came to an end and she finally opened the frosted glass door to her office, allowing anyone who needed her to come in. Arianna being the first person to stroll into the office "Heyyy!" Her voice made Cara smile she missed her friend. Ari was on vacation for the past two weeks with her new little fling. They first went to Costa Rica and then ended up in Belize. One thing about Ari, she kept a man with some money and didn't see nothing wrong with it.

"Ohh look who decided to finally come back to America" Cara took a seat at her desk and leaned back.

Ari took a seat on the sleek couch in the office, reaching for the remote to the flat screen that was mounted on to the wall facing the couch. "Girl, I am happy to be home. You know I like to be left alone after a while." Ari slid off her heels and laid down on the couch while flipping through the apps.

"I missed you though" Cara scanned through some of her priority emails, which usually consisted of top paying clients and decisions.

"I heard someone was keeping you company though" She chuckled.

Cara shook her head knowing that Katie of course told Ari about the lunch she had with him the other day and the many times he would be seen going into her house at night. Katie was that one nosy neighbor but she was also just looking out for her friend. She knew Cara's problem and how she could get whenever her feel into her moods.

"Yeah, his company has been very much appreciated. It's just something about him that keeps me drawn, like it's this weird connection I get from time to time.

Ari stopped scrolling and looked over at her best friend "Spending all your nights with him, going to lunch and dinner with him, letting him lay in your bed. Girl are you trying to replace me" she joked. Those were all of the things Ari didn't mind doing with Cara.

Cara clicked on one of her emails and her eyes widened at the client and his budget for a home. "Damnnn" she mumbled to herself.

"What?!" Ari got up from the couch and went around the computer desk to see the screen. "Ouu okay big money.. What are you waiting for you better accept that"

Cara shook her head "No I can just hand it off to you. He needs an immediate showing and I haven't handled a client like this before"

"Nope. I'll be booked and busy you got this!" Ari walked away from the desk, going over to the snack bar Cara had in her office.

Cara smacked her lips "Busy doing what?"

"Setting up for Thanksgiving duh. You know I like to have the house nice and ready for our festivities" Ari grabbed one of the Strawberry Vanilla Olipop's out of the mini fridge and opened it taking a large sip. "Now hurry up and let's go"

Cara tapped her phone screen to see the time but also to see if Dee had responded to her text. Her hope falling short when she didn't see his name in any of her notifications. A missed call and voicemail from her dad caught her eye. She made a note to herself to return his call later.

6:40PM

"I hate men" Katie simply said while shrugging.

"Says the only one here who is married" Cara looked up from her menu and squinted at Katie. This was her usual rant.

"I know and that's why I'm telling you guys now. Besides I'm about to file for divorce" She held up her lemon drop and took a sip from the glass making sure to wipe the sugar from the rim afterwards.

"Oh here she go" Cara laughed.

"Girl hush you only saying that because you and Steven probably had a argument. I'll give yall two business days and im sure everything will be fine and you'll be back in love..Bipolar asses" Ari spoke up but hated that she mentioned the last part. She tried to stay away from calling people Bipolar and crazy as she felt like those were trigger words for Cara.

Katie caught on quickly switched the subject. "So Cara how's everything with you and Dee"

Cara slowly nodded "Everything's good" she lied and tried her best to keep a straight face.

"That's it?" Katie edged her on for a more in depth answer.

Cara sat up in her chair "I mean yeah he's been super busy but I mean who am I to complain. I just don't like the fact that we mostly only talk now late at night or super early in the morning."

As if they had summoned him, Katie seen Dee walk in with a woman following not too far behind him. Due to Cara's back facing the entrance she didn't see what Katie saw. Katie sneakily tapped Ari who was deep into her phone. "What?" she looked up at Katie and followed her eyes to see Dee and the mystery woman. "Ohhh"

Cara suspiciously looked up at her friends and tried to turn her head to see what they were referring to. Ari tried to say something to distract her but it was too late, Cara's head whipped around and she raised her eyebrow seeing him sit down at one of the tables. His back was facing their table so he couldn't see her.

"Told you. I hate men" Katie shook her head and sighed. "You wanna go over there and flip the whole damn table? You know im down for it"

Ari smacked her lips "Now why would you ask her that you know her ass would really do it too. Cara.. you going to say anything? You okay?" She attentively focused on their table before turning back around to her friends.

The thoughts running through her mind were highly alarming and actually caused a shift in her entire mood. It wasn't like they were dating or anything but she just felt like they were getting close enough to distinguish that she wanted him and he wanted her so why was he here with another woman.

"I'm fine you guys. Let's just drink" she had an uneasy look on her face and her hand was wrapped tightly around the glass, her grip becoming stronger and stronger. Ari reached over grabbing Cara's wrist so she would let go of the glass before it would break. She knew this behavior too well, Cara was everything but Okay and was soon about to spazz.

Katie raised her hand catching the waiter's attention to bring the check. Ari let go of Cara's wrist and grabbed her coat from the back of the chair. "Maybe that's just his cousin, sister, friend?" she tried her hardest to think on the bright side. "We can just stop and get some wine and chill at my house. sounds good?"

Cara shook her head "Nah, I rather go home I need to get ready for tomorrow I have a showing in the morning"

Ari wasn't hearing it. "Nope we will grab wine and we will go to your house then. You know I'm not going to let you be alone tonight" she smiled. Ari was like her mentally stable friend. She couldn't say she understood Cara's mental health but she was able to sit and listen to her and offer resolutions as best as she could.

Once the bill was paid, the three of them got up heading to the entrance. They purposely walked by the table where Dee was. Katie even said Hey to him so he would know they seen him. Cara on the other hand kept walking, leaving her unforgettable Prada perfume scent filling his nose. He looked away from the woman in front of him and latched his eyes to the back of her body.

Later that night Cara waited patiently for Katie to go home and Ari to go to sleep before she made her way over to Dee's house. She wasn't new to finding her way into someone's home, which is why she had extra security features on her own. The time was now 1:15 and she was making her way to the second level of his home.

He didn't have anything out of the ordinary in the first level but she struggled to pay attention since she was admiring the home so much. She had seen it when it was listed and knew how well it looked already but for some reason it stunned her while she was there in person.

"Oh my god this chandelier is amazing. Lucky ass bastard" she mumbled to her self and continued heading up the stairs. The house was dark but the natural light from the windows was enough to help her see what she needed to. She made her way down the long hallway stopping at the first room. It was a decent size but she figured it was just the guest room since there wasn't too many things in there. Once she went to the next room she knew it was the master bedroom, she wanted to briefly just glance in it but her curiosity made her go inside.

She went in the huge walk in closet and looked around. Surprisingly everything was super neat, not a hoodie, pair of jeans nor shoe out of place. Cara walked over to the hoodies perfectly hanging up and let the tip of her hands brush against them.

After leaving the closet she left out the room and made her way to the last room on the level and slightly pushed the door open. It was an office a few things were out of place on his desk and she knew this was where he spent most of his time. Walking around to the desk she glanced over the papers that were on the desk, nothing important caught her eye. She rolled her eyes in annoyance since she didn't find anything on him.

She was about to walk out until she seen the picture on the wall. "What the fuck" she walked away from the desk going up to the picture and examined it. The picture was of someone who looked exactly like her. They were basically twins, the only difference being that Cara had a beauty mark above her lip. This was almost weird to her. She pulled her phone out took a quick picture and then left the room.

Four Days Later

"So, how was the client? Was he cute? Does he give off rich vibes?" Ari flooded Cara with questions. She was able to squeeze in Michael's showing yesterday and the entire time she found herself occasionally spacing out and thinking about Deion. After the night she snuck in his house she hasn't talked to him. She even switched up her times she left out and came back from work so she would have less of a chance running into him like usual.

"He was...alright" Cara grabbed her purse as Ari was approaching Cara's street she lived on.The teo of them had just returned from the mall "He was definitely cute and he gave off rich vibes.. He asked for my number"

Ari dramatically gasped. "Please tell me you gave it to him?" A smiled forming on her face when Cara started nodding.

"Yeah I did. I figured why not?" she shrugged carelessly and looked down at her phone seeing a new text message came in from Michael. He was asking her last minute to join him for dinner tomorrow night for business purposes. Yeah right "He actually just asked me to join him for dinner tomorrow. I should say no right?"

"Girl now why would you say no? Matter of fact tell him hell yeah in all caps"

Cara laughed and responded to Michael's text letting him know she would be there. Her laugh came to a halt when they pulled up to her house and Deion could be seen leaning against her car in the driveway. He put his phone in his pocket and looked up at Ari's car, making eye contact with Cara through the front windshield.

"Umm You want me to go in with you?" Ari looked over at her friend and then back at Dee who looked pissed.

Cara shook her head "No, I'm sure I'll be fine. I will see you tomorrow at work though" She grabbed her Starbucks cup and the rest of her things before getting out of the car. She slowly made her way up the driveway "What's going on?"

"Why you avoiding me Cara?" He walked closer to her his low red eyes catching her attention.

"I'm not avoiding you. I just had so much going on you know I'm busy a lot" She lied and sipped from her cup.

"Fuck you lying for?" He smiled at her.

"Why would I lie?" she turned away from him and walked up to her front door, Deion not too far behind. Cara opened the front door and moved to the side so he could come in. She pulled off her uggs and went over to the couch where he had already made himself comfortable. "Who did you go to dinner with a few nights ago?" she sat next to him with her legs criss crossed.

Deion snatched the starbucks cup from her hand and took a sip. "That was Melanie, my manager she cool as hell I was gone introduce her to you but you left quick as hell" he handed the cup back to her.

"His manager! Duh Cara. You need to learn to chill out sometimes"

"Ohhh" was all she could say, she slightly felt bad because she had assumed so much shit over the span of two days. Something she could've easily asked him about if she had responded to his texts or calls.

"Ohhh" he mimicked her and laughed "What you thought I was fucking with her or sum?" he shook his head "Nahh it ain't even nothing like that" he stopped laughing and cleared his throat "Let me ask you something though?"

Cara smiled "Ask away"

Deion licked over his lips and brought his hand up to Cara's neck pulling her closer. At first she thought he was going to kiss her but he instead brought his nose to the side of her neck and inhaled deeply. He then moved their faces close together and pressed his lips against hers.

Cara was confused but she leaned forward to deepen the kiss. She climbed over into his lap now straddling him. Moments later she broke the kiss and looked down at Dee "Wait that was your question?"

He shook his head and let his hands rub up her thighs, stopping at her waist before firmly grabbing it. "Nah I was about to ask you if you found what you was looking for?" his eyes trailed down her body.

"Huh. What are you talking about?"

Deion smirked while still holding on to her waist "I know you broke into my crib Cara did you find what you were looking for?"
