Dylan's POV
I need to get out to clear my head. To be really sure that I have feelings for Quinn. I barely know the girl yet I feel like I have to have her. John seems to be really in love with her. So I'll just let him have his chance before I do anything.
I know I sound really bad, but I'll just get to know her until John figures out his feelings. I don't know what I'll do if he and Quinn starts dating. Probably find a job and get my own apartment? I don't know. I shouldn't think like this right now.
"I'm going for a....walk" I say and head out of the door without looking at either of them. As soon as I step out, the cold air hits my face. I shiver, and head down the steps.
I want to go to a pub to get a breakfast, because it isn't as expensive as breakfast bars or restaurants.
There aren't many people living in Bakewell, Derbyshire and therefore not many pubs that I can go to. But I see one, it's called 'the fantasy drink' and I roll my eyes at the weird name. It's so cringy, but I still go in.
Despite it being morning, there are a lot of people. It's a pretty small place but I manage to find an empty table. I take off my coat and put in down next to me. I then wave my hand to get the waiters attention and I finally manage to make him see me.
"Hello, kid what would you like?" His accent is thick, a little bit thicker than Johns.
"Do you have a sort of breakfast meal?" He nods. "Alright then can I have one of those and a bottle of water? thanks mate." I say and he goes to the back of the place.
A woman with very less clothing comes up to me as I waited. "Hey there. Names Tina. Would you like a shot? It's on me." She says, grinning like some sort of freak.
I have been sober for 2 years now, ever since I ran away because I wasn't my best self from ages 13-16. I'm pretty proud of myself for recovering, so I shake my head. "Nah, thanks I'm good."
"Oh cmon then! Just one, one won't hurt would it?"
This woman won't just leave me be.
"I said no, fuck off." I say sternly and the woman widens her eyes and leaves. People say that I give off a very 'bad' vibe. But if they knew me, I have the opposite. I'm just not good with people and I like closing them off.
Better later than never, waiter came with my food and I pay him before I ate. The so called breakfast meal was two pancakes with maple syrup, some potato chips and literally two strips of bacon. I smelt what John cooked and now I'm wishing I ate there before I talked to him.
After I ate, I went for a walk. I think I'm going to stay out today, and go back to Johns house tonight or something. I've gotten a lot of money working at the dig so, I reckon I can spare a little.
I admire this beautiful quaint little town. There are big houses and it's just like how I pictured in all those novels I've read. A woman gardening in her house waved at me and gestured for me to come over. I sighed. But I slowly walked towards her.
"What are you growing?" I asked. I don't simply care, but I wanted to give them a good impression because i was staying with Johns family and they're pretty known in this town.
The woman smiled and looked up at me from her work. "Strawberries. My kids, they eat them and I plant the leftovers that are about to go bad. What's your name, kiddo? I haven't seen you around." The woman's not too old, around 40 years I think. Her clothes are traced with mud and dirt and her hair tied back in a messy bun. "Uh I'm Dyla- Dylan." I stuttered. "Yeah I'm not from around here. I'm staying with the Lewis's."
The woman nods her head. "Ohhh how are they treating ya?" But before I could answer, she smacks herself on the forehead. "Ohhhh right! I forgot that Halem came home! When did he come?" Now I nod, and simply say. "He came just yesterday." A voice calls for the woman from inside the house and she mouths 'one moment' and rushes inside, so I take that as my queue to leave.
———————————————————-
I walk around more and I see a lot of nice stores and big houses. I check my phone, it's now 1:30pm and my stomach is rumbling, again.
Damn I should've gotten Johns phone number.
I decide that it's been long enough and go back to the house. I didn't notice it as much as I did before. It has a beautiful porch surrounded with flower beds. I follow the fence around the structure to see a backyard. There's a lock on the gate but I jump over it. I hear voices and I peek around the wall connecting to the back yard.
There are a lot of plants, vegetables and flowers. I can see that Johns mother is a gardener, a good one at that. I peek around more to find the source of the voices and I see John and Quinn sitting on a bench close to a big apple tree.
He must be telling her, as she's crying now. She looks so upset, maybe I shouldn't have forced John to admit his feelings for her. Did I just make everything much more complicated?
I sit down against the wall. I can't hear them, so I just wait until they're done. Suddenly the voices stop so I look around the wall again and see them..kissing?
My chest starts to lift up and down faster, as I watch them. The voice in my head tells me to stop looking as it's none of my business and that they were meant to be.
Maybe i shouldn't have forced John to do that. I mean, I barely know Quinn and I'm already head over heels for her. This isn't how the universe works. I'm supposed to know her before I start to like her... right?
I close my eyes, stand up and slowly lean against the wall. I'm hearing voices now. They're talking. And laughing.
I go around the front again and go through the door to see Mrs. Lewis working on the small flowerbed there.
Damn, why is everyone in this town so obsessed with gardening?
"Hi Dylan. Where have you gone to?"
"I went for a walk. Did you make lunch?" I quickly say, wanting to avoid conversation. She nods and points inside. "Halem and I are going out of town for a couple of days, we're leaving at three and before I go I'm going shopping, would you like anything?"
"No than- wait could I come with you? I don't want to intrude but I need to buy some clothes."
"Im so sorry honey, I'm not going to the clothes shop, I'm going just to buy some food. Halems clothes don't fit him anymore-" she gives out a laugh before continuing. "so we're buying some from Matlock while we're there."
"Oh." I say. She was giving me this pathetic sympathetic smile, so I frown and start to go up the steps.
"I'll be leaving money so you could go out with John and-"
"No thanks, I have money of my own." I interrupt.
"Darling it's ok-"
I close the door behind me, blocking out the sound of Johns mother. I take off my coat and go into the living room to see Quinn and John playing a game from the television.
"Hi." Quinn says, noticing me when I clumsily bump into the shelf.
"Hey. Uh- I'll be in my room if you need me."
John takes one hand from his controller and gives me a thumbs up.
I expected someone to ask me to stay and join, but staying alone in my room is fine too I guess.
I go upstairs and into the bathroom. I wash my hair and don't even realize there is a orange stain on my white shirt. I take it off and lean my hands on the sink. I sigh and look at my reflection. Why do I feel defeated?
I didn't even notice anyone entering my room when I hear a voice. "Hey Dylan."
I turn around quickly and see Quinn standing in the doorway. Her mouth is wide open, probably because I'm shirtless. I can't help but laugh a little because she looks so surprised. "Having fun staring?" I ask. She snaps out of her thoughts and closes the door behind her after coming inside.
"What're you doing?" I ask her. I didn't mean to sound rude but I'm pretty nervous.
"John told me."
"Oh." So is she here to tell me to back off and that she's with John? "So are you and John..."
"No!" She shakes her head and smiles that beautiful smile of hers that I've loved since yesterday.
She takes small steps towards me and looks up at me. The height difference makes it all so picture perfect. She's so little, but so perfect.
"I like you too, Dylan." She grins wider, showing a beautiful set of pearly whites. My mind went blank. This is what happens in movies. I didn't think this happened in real life. At least, I never thought it would be this perfect.
I can't help but smile. I lift her chin up and I lower my head to meet her eyes to mine. I see her eyes fluttering and her smile slowly disappears. I lean in and lightly press my lips against hers.
She pushes her body against mine and my body is against the sink. My hand moves to her cheek and I push my lips on against hers and slip my tongue in. Hers reciprocates and they move in perfect sync.
One of her hands moves to my hair and she threads her fingers through them. She smiles against my lips and fastens the pace of her lips. I move along with her, and I'm trying to remember everything I remember from watching those occupational movies and reading those books.
My other hand goes to her waist and I pull her closer. I don't ever wanna let her go. Though we barely know each other, I feel like we were together in another perfect world.
I turn her around so that now it's her against the sink. I put my arms around her thighs and she giggles against my mouth as I lift her up and onto the dry stone surrounding the sink. I stand between her legs and move closer to her.
Quinn's POV
I was feeling a little uncomfortable when John told me his feelings. I don't feel that way for him anymore and I really wish I could take back our kiss. After that I felt more guilty than uncomfortable.
But then John told me everything about Dylan. His past and everything while playing Fortnite with him. It was so horrible, to even hear that a mother could do that to a kid. My mother was doing that to my father, but I can never imagine she would do it to me.
And John told me that Dylan likes me, very much. Boys have always told me that they like me and I've never really thought too much about it. I've never had a too serious relationship. But Dylan? Even the sight of him makes my heart turn into mush.
And now I'm kissing him in the bathroom. His body is so perfect. He looks naturally jacked.
When he lifted me, his arms touched my thigh and so close to my sensitive area that I could've melted at the sensation. I pull away from him to examine his facial features. His eyes, they're like mine, green but his are darker.
His eyebrows turn into a frown and I put my hands around his shoulder and pull him closer once again.
I pull at his hair and push his head closer to me. He automatically moves closer to me and his erotic area is pressed against mine. It feels so damn good. A soft moan escapes my lips and he pulls away from me and I whimper at the sudden loss of contact. He moves his lips to my neck and the sensory feeling cannot be explained.
His teeth bites and tugs at my ear and he licks that one spot that made me tug at his hair harder. I bite my lips to stop moaning louder.
The butterflies might as well set up camp in my stomach because this just feels too good to be true.
His lips trail to my neck again and start to softly move against my neck in such a way that it for sure is going to leave a mark.
Suddenly the bathroom door flies open and Dylan quickly breaks the feeling. I'm panting now, even though we barely did anything.
Standing at the door is Johns mother. She told me she was going out, maybe she had a change of plans. Such luck.
"Oh my- I'm sorry! I thought Halem was in here!"She says before quickly closing the door. My eyes meet Dylan's and we laugh.
"Omg what if that was Johns dad?" I say and Dylan laughs, and I see the most beautiful dimple forming in his cheek. I climb off the sink and stand on my tip toes to give him a peck.
"Well we better go outside. Johns mother's probably traumatized now!" I say. And head towards the door.
He pulls me back by my arm and faces me to him.
"But we barely did anything, did we?"
His voice is deep and his face is so close to mine. I nod, not being able to say anything, I'm encased in the thought of what we could've been doing if Johns mother didn't come in.
He rubs his finger on my bottom lip in circles.
"These full lips, they are so perfect." I blush and he kisses me once more before leading me out of the bathroom and outside.
—————————————————————-
"Should I wear this one?" He asks me, showing me a white shirt which has 'I'm cool' written across it.
He told me that he was thinking of going to a close mall to buy some stuff, and I told him I wanted to come along too.
"I'd rather you not wear anything." I quietly say and he strides huge steps towards me and plants a big kiss on my head.
"Is that so?"
I nod and he uses his finger to tilt my chin up to look up at him as he did before. I lean in, going in for a kiss but he moves his face to the right and nibbles on my ear.
Surprised at this sudden sensation, I yelp and he laughs.
"You can do more than just see my shirt off after we come back." He whispers into my ear.
I gasp and he chuckles before grabbing the shirt and putting it over his head.
He grabs my hand and leads me down the staircase as if he were showing me a tour of the house I'm very familiar with.
I see John sitting on the couch, the same spot where I had told him I was going upstairs to talk to Dylan.
He looks around and smiles. I cannot believe I was kissing him. My younger self would be envious, but I'm regretting it, so much.
Dylan leads me to the kitchen where Kenna had left a note.
Will be back soon. Your dad and I are going to Matlock so I'm out buying a few groceries
"Johnny, your mother and father are going out of town, did you know?" I shout to ask him before sitting at the table next to Dylan.
"What?" I hear him say and he comes to the kitchen.
"Yeah, here." I give him the note.
"Well, they told me they were going out but I assumed it was just for groceries. I thought I would get more time to spend with my dad." He frowns and I give his a sympathetic smile.
"It's okay you will, after they come back."
He nods. "Wanna go to the mall and eat there?"
I look at Dylan who is staring at me. He's so pretty.
"Yup! I'm starving man! You've gotta treat the guest of honor well! What if I die of starvation?" He says and John and I burst out in laughter.
"Also John, I need your number." Dylan adds and they exchange numbers before Dylan asks for mine. "Thanks baby." He says and kisses my forehead before saving the number. John looks at me and I muster a smile.
"To the mall!" I shout, to break the unforgivable silence and we all laugh before storming quickly out of the door.
