CHAPTER THREE
TOUR
; ♡⋆.ೃ࿔*

Now, the only reason why Chris ever gave tours was because of Betty. Having forced it onto him and not leaving him with many options to decide. In her words, not his, 'It's a way for you to make new friends.' Now, when those words slipped out of Betty's mouth, Chris had burst into laughter not believing she was actually serious about it.

He had Kaitlyn, Riley, Jughead, and Betty. That was all he needed and that was all he would ever need, but apparently, Betty didn't think so. Seeing as even with Chris having friends, he didn't seem to hang out with any of them besides Riley when they had business to take care of. A type of certain business that would cause tension and problems amongst the group.

But at the moment, walking behind Betty Veronica, Chris was honestly thankful for Betty forcing him into meeting new kids. Well, all the other times he had given tours for new kids, he didn't really give them any mind. Only Veronica had his full attention and he was perfectly fine with that.

As he followed behind them, Chris puffed off the cigarette he had lit before the tour had even started. Not exactly caring if the teachers yelled at him since he had always done it. But it made him question if he should continue doing it since Veronica glanced at him quite a bit. Maybe it was because of the cigarette, the smell, or something else. He wasn't exactly sure.

"So I usually start off our tours with a little history and context," Betty explained as they turned down a hallway. "Riverdale High first opened its doors in 1941, and-" Before Betty continued, Veronica cut her off. "And hasn't been redecorated since, apparently." The comment had Chris snicker in amusement as he blew out a cigarette cloud.

Veronica glanced at Chris, to which she smirked, happy she got a reaction out of him. "Honestly, I feel like I'm wandering through the lost epilogue of Our Town." She joked with a smile glancing at Betty and the pair chuckled.

"So what's the social scene like here? Any nightclubs?" Veronica asked and before Chris could let out a comment, Kevin Keller appeared. "A strip club called the Ho Zone and a tragic gay bar called Innuendo." He told the new girl as he walked backwards in front of the trio. "Friday nights, football games. Tailgate parties at the Mal-Mart parking lot. Saturday night is movie night, regardless what's at the Bijou. Get there early because we don't have reserved seating in Riverdale? Sunday nights?" Kevin said as he slung his arm over Betty's shoulder as he sighed. "Thank god for HBO."

Smiling, Betty motioned to Kevin as she introduced the pair. "Veronica Lodge, Kevin Keller. Veronica's new here, Kevin is-" Before Betty could continue, Veronica interrupted her, again.

"Gay. Thank god. Let's be best friends." Veronica said with a grin while Betty looked to Chris who leaned against the lockers with a cigarette between his lips as he scrolled through his phone.

"I should probably introduce you to my best friend and helper with the tours." Betty began as she motioned to Chris. "Veronica Lodge, Chris Jones. Goes by CJ depending on how close you are with him." She did an introduction and Chris looked at Veronica while taking the cigarette between his fingers.

Sending a wink to the girl who grinned. "We met at Pop's," Veronica said briefly before Chris nodded, not giving a bigger explanation. It wasn't like they needed it either way.

"Is it true what they say about your dad?" Kevin asked suddenly. Chris growing confused as to what they were talking about. "That he's the devil incarnate?" Veronica questions with a tone that had Chris feeling like he was being pulled towards her.

There was a fire in her and he liked it. "I stand by my father." She announced before looking at Betty. "Does everyone here know?" She asked as she crossed her arms.

When neither of them answered, Veronica, sighed in annoyance. "Wonderful. Ten minutes in and I'm already the Blue Jasmine of Riverdale High." She scoffed before walking away and Chris soon following.

"Hey, don't take it personally, beautiful. I still get the occasional hateful comment from people who don't like the Southside." He told her and just earned another scoff. "Easy for you to say when your dad's not a crime lord."

Chris found himself smiling at how feisty the girl seemed to be. "Well, you don't know much about me. If you did then you could understand how our lives sorta connect." He told her as he glanced down the hall.

The familiar ginger hair catching his sight as he stopped when Olivia stopped in her step to stare at him. Walking directly into the janitor's closet that Chris knew vividly. Not even caring to give the trio an explanation, Chris walked towards the janitor's room and entered the room abruptly.

Seeing Olivia with her arms crossed and a tiny smile. "Hi, CJ." She greeted him while the boy crushed his cigarette on the wall. Blowing out the large cloud before tossing the cigarette to the right of Olivia.

"What do you want, O?" He questioned as he crossed his arms with a straight face. Leave it to Olivia being able to lure him into such a secluded area. It was one of the Blossom girl's charms and Chris didn't miss it at all.

Being cautious about how she had the mischievous look in her eyes as she walked towards him. Her steps desperately taunting him and begging him to close the distance between the pair. Chris refrained and stood his ground as Olivia stood right in front of him.

Their faces inches apart as Olivia found her fingers at the hem of Chris's black skinny jeans as she tugged them towards her. "I missed you." She breathed out in a rather seductive way that didn't affect Chris.

Chris shook his head as he moved her hands away. "I think you forget that you fucked Reggie Mantle in my bed. Don't be trying to act like that never happened." He growled as Olivia merely smirked. "God, I have missed the dominant tone of yours. Wonder if you've gotten rougher in bed since I've been gone." Olivia wondered and Chris stared at her with a blank expression.

It was no secret that since most girls Chris had one-night stands with came from his school. So, being the preppy girls, they always told everyone. Which then ended in more girls flocking towards him. In a way, he considered it a good thing, but in another, it was annoying having girls always at his side trying to seduce him when it never worked.

"Yeah," Chris confirmed as he lowered his face to Olivia's ear. "But I also have shown it to many girls since you've been gone. Including your cousin." The info had Olivia's eyes widen while Chris smirked and sighed as he started making his exit from the janitor's closet. "So, that should be a cool little conversation with Cheryl. Don't forget to tell her I said hi and my door is open anytime." He mocked before leaving the Blossom girl in a state of shock.

Chris walked down the hallway to where Kevin, Betty, and Veronica were standing. Taking note that they were slowly following Archie Andrew's, Riley's younger brother. "What you guys talking about?" Chris asked as he prepped another cigarette. "Betty and Kevin were just explaining telling me about the hot stallion that goes by the name of Archie."

The comment had Chris stop momentarily as he pulled the unlit cigarette from his lips. Turning to stare at Veronica with a raised brow. "You can't be serious, right?" He asked and the three frowned. "What? Has he done something?" Veronica questioned, intently intrigued by the ginger's backstory and sudden change of the Jones' attitude.

For some godforsaken reason, Chris seemed to be fuming. It was something he wouldn't admit, but he felt jealous. For once, he felt jealous and it angered him. He barely even knew Veronica and felt this way with her that he hadn't felt since Olivia.

So, to not show his emotions, Chris shook his head as he walked past the three lighting his smoke. "I'll see you guys at the assembly," Chris grumbled as he walked ahead of them. A slight stomp in his step that he tried to control.

Veronica frowned as they continued walking down the hallway, glancing at Betty guessing she knew more about the mysterious Jones boy than Kevin did. "What was that about?" She asked Betty shrugged as she didn't exactly know how to explain Chris.

He was like a puzzle to figure out, and Betty was still trying to figure him out. After years of knowing Chris, she had no idea what was going on in his head. Only taking up subtle ideas that could be a part of a bigger problem that he was hiding from everyone.

"Chris...he's complicated." Betty began as Veronica nodded. "One second he's fine, the next he could be sad, angry, frustrated, annoyed. He's unpredictable which in some cases is good for him, but in others, it's bad for him." She finished and Veronica nodded as she watched the raven-haired boy enter the gym from the sound of bells ringing.

Alerting kids around the school for the assembly Chris wasn't prepared for.
