Moments like waking up in bed with him beside her, the rays of the sun shining behind him and casting a shadow over half of his peaceful sleeping face. Laughing at him for whining like a baby when shampoo got into his eyes while they showered. Exchanging banters with him over the silliest little things. Rolling their eyes at each other over their lamest jokes.

It was moments like those that made Mary Stuart believe that her relationship with Kol Mikaelson was everything but internecine, when in fact it was nothing but. At least as long as he was in that frail human body. Because if anyone knew more about the fate of mortals in the sea of the supernatural, it would be Mary herself.

"Look at you. Weren't you the one who scolded me about staring?" Kol quipped, a smug smirk curled on his lips when he caught Mary staring at him while they were sitting across from each other, a table filled with ceramic bowls and plates both broken and repaired as well as a bunch of tools in between them.

"Since when did you start practicing Kintsugi?" Mary asked, fascinated as she watched him work like he had been doing that his entire life.

Looking down on his work, Kol smiled as he continued to fill the gaps of the pot. "Since I found my gold lacquer."

Mary shifted her eyes back from the bowl he was holding to his face, a bit surprised about his response. She wasn't going to lie. Kol loving her that much caught her off guard since she was so accustomed to him hating her with a burning passion. So when he called her darling with so much adoration, when he looked at her like he was about to melt at the sight of her, when he couldn't get his hands off of her for long without wanting to choke her to death, she was a bit uncertain on how to react, like she was culture shocked.

"You're lame." Mary remarked, rolling her eyes at him as she tried to cover her smile that tugged on her red lips.

The witch, without lifting his head up, peeked through his eyelashes to look at the former queen with a cheeky grin. "Right, I'll pretend you didn't just blush at that, darling."

Mary narrowed her eyes at him. She didn't like it when he caught her blushing because of him. It made him feel like he had so much power over her. Not that it was untrue. But Mary didn't like to admit it. And she certainly didn't like losing.

The heretic boldly stood up barefoot from the chair stool and walked around the table. Now she was standing a few feet away from him and the table. When Kol noticed how she moved away he glanced at her to question her.

"Where are youβ€”" Kol hitched a breath on his throat when his eyes landed on Mary slowly unbuttoning her cropped knitted black top that hugged her upper body, letting him take a peek of her burgundy bra underneath until he finally had a full view of it when she smoothly shrugged the long sleeves off her shoulders and dropping it to the floor.

Mary witnessed how he swallowed hard when her hands fell to the button of her brown suede mini skirt, unclasping it before pushing it lightly until it fell to the floor on its own. She saw how the witch's eyes turned from playful to lustful, and it aroused her.

She stood there with her auburn hair behind her, her body on full display with only her matching burgundy underwear on that stunned Kol. He seemed to have lost his tongue as he was speechless for a couple of seconds before he finally had the strength to stand up and approach her eagerly as he spoke.

"Alright. You win." Kol growled, pulling her into his arms and immediately crashing his lips into hers.

Kol's hand went to her legs before picking her up and letting them wrap around his waist as he snaked his arms around hers. The witch walked toward the made up bed that was now messy again when they landed on top of it. Kol's lips left Mary's when he started making his way down to her jaw and neck, leaving a trail of wet kisses across her perfect skin as the heretic tangled her hand in his hair, tugging slightly which made him groan.

He flicked his hand and muttered a short chant under his breath which caused him to briefly disconnect his lips from her chest before her bra was removed as a result of his spell, her chest now bare. He looked up at her for a moment, seeing the look of pleasure on her face before he smirked and started massaging her breast and taking the other into his mouth.

Mary seemed to have noticed what looked like a victorious expression on his face and given that she realized he was once again using his power over her to dominate her, the heretic suddenly pushed him away slightly just enough to detach his lips from her skin before flipping them over.

Kol looked up at her with wide eyes before it turned into an angry one when he saw the mischievous smile that stretched on Mary's lips. He tried to sit upright and flip them over again but Mary placed her hand on his chest and pushed him back down with her vampire strength, earning a grunt from him.

"That's unfair." Kol said, glaring at her.

The heretic simply grinded her core against him and the witch could not hold back the moan that erupted from his throat even with his mouth closed and his jaw clenched. His eyes were closed shut as he gripped the woman's hips tightly, unable to handle Mary grinding down on his clothed hard-on.

"I hate you." He growled.

"I know." Mary smiled in amusement before Kol reached forward and grabbed her by the back of her neck and pulled her down to press his lips back on hers, their tongues dancing as she continued to grind down on him.

A few minutes had passed and the next thing they knew, they were both bare and naked, not one underwear being a barrier between their two bodies. Kol was once again on top and Mary underneath him, both panting. The feeling of his hands exploring her body felt like he was igniting the best and the worst parts of her. Meanwhile, Kol was high on the taste of his lover against his tongue as he left wet kisses up and down her body before he thrusted into her.

Kol kept his eyes open and pinned on Mary when he pushed into her because he didn't want to miss the look of pleasure on her face as he did. And when he did that, he thought he could finish just by that looking at her face. He held back for as long as possible as his thrusts became faster and harder, the woman beneath him starting to become a moaning mess.

"Kol!" She exclaimed, feeling like she was on the verge of something so much more pleasurable.

"I know." He said then he groaned just as loud before speaking again. "Fuck, I know, me too."

Mary continued to chant Kol's name under her breath, his name sounding like a prayer from her lips as his thrust had gone sloppy before the both of them finishing in one last sharp thrust. A moan escaped Kol's lips as he released inside her, his hand shooting to the headboard of the bed to grip it as he squeezed his eyes shut.

The two of them were catching their breaths before Kol rolled over to the side and collapsed, panting with his eyes still closed and a thin sheet of sweat covering his face and chest. He turned his head to the side and opened his eyes to look at Mary to see her trying to recover as well.

Kol briefly sat upright to reach for the duvet and lay it over them, covering her body first before his then lying back down beside her. Mary gladly accepted the blanket and pulled it closer to her chest before turning her body to the side, facing the blonde haired witch.

Mary stared at Kol as he stared back at her, a small, soft smile curling on his lips before he held out his left hand and pushed away the few strands of auburn hair away from her face before cupping her cheek.

"I can spend my entire life like this." Kol whispered, his eyes tracing the features of the heretic's face like an artist admiring a masterpiece. And that's exactly what Mary was. A masterpiece.

"What, simping over me?" She joked, a smile now on her lips.

"Loving you." Kol answered without hesitation.

Mary brought her hand to the one hand Kol had on her cheek, holding it on caressing it with her thumb before bringing it to her lips and kissing the back of his fingers, Kol's smile widening and his eyes brightening at the woman's gesture.

But the beautiful moment was cut short when suddenly, Kol screamed in pain at the feeling of the skin of his arm that was stretched out toward Mary being carved. The witch jerked upright and looked down at his arm as he exclaimed in agony. Mary sat up to glance at his arm, not letting go of his hand as she widened his eyes at the symbols that started to appear in the form of carved wounds on his skin.

"What's happening?" Mary said, not knowing what she could do to help.

Kol's screams decreased into hisses of pain when the brutal engraving stopped, leaving the mark on his skin like a brand. The blonde haired witch then shifted her gaze toward the auburn haired heretic to which she met, seeing the furious look on his face.

"Mother's calling me home." He said.

β€”

Much to Mary's frustration, Kol was forced to be apart from her as he went to deceive his mother that he was still on their side. Maxime, on the other hand, is busy keeping Davina company and earning her trust so that when the time was right, he'd ask her to help Mary get rid of the spirit inside her. Meanwhile, Mary was busy stomping around the compound in a bad mood before her phone vibrated in her pocket. She pulled it out and saw Hayley's name flash on the screen.

With a sigh, Mary answered the phone and brought it to her ear.

"I'm not in the mood." Mary greeted.

"Well, I have just the thing." Hayley replied, a slightly amused tone hinted at her voice, "How violent do you want to be right about now?"

Mary stopped pacing and planted the soles of her shoes on the ground before she answered. "Very."

On the other end of the line, Hayley could not help the smirk that tugged on her lips before she spoke.

"I'll text you the plan." She said before hanging up.

Mary moved the phone away from her ear and looked at her lockscreen to check if there were any messages from her beloved. And there was one.

My Beloved Pheasant:
I've spoken with my mother. I'm with Davina Claire now, I'll be back soon.

She exhaled deeply and turned off the screen of her phone before shoving it back in her pocket. Just the thought of Kol spending so much time with that little witch irritated Mary. Though she had no idea why. It just bothered her. But she knew he had to keep his mother and his other brother Finn out of his hair.

Without another thought, the auburn heretic began marching out of the compound with mayhem in her mind.

β€”

The former queen strolled into the church with her heels clicking against the floor, the echo bouncing on the walls. The attention of the people insideβ€”Hayley, Cami, Josh, and Aidenβ€”turned to the auburn heretic who was roaming her brown gaze on the interior of the infrastructure as this was the first time she had come here.

"It feels wrong being here." She muttered in the normal volume of her voice as she approached them. Then she slowly stopped just between the two front benches with her eyes fixated on the cross hung on the wall in front of her.

She sighed, reminiscing about her days of being human. "Yet also so right."

Aiden and Josh moved away from the lit votive candles to get a proper look at the infamous Unholy Mary standing and breathing for their eyes.

"You're Mary Stuart." Said Josh.

Mary peeled her eyes away from the cross and smiled at the two men eyeing her. "A pleasure to meet me, I know."

Her brown eyes were then averted towards Hayley and the blonde woman, Cami, that were sitting on the steps. Cami's neck was bloody and marked with what looked like a werewolf bite, which caused Mary to narrow her eyes at her neck before looking toward Hayley.

"Please tell me this isn't the precious Cami I've been hearing a lot about. Klaus has a soft spot for me but not so much for the rest of you. He'll rip you apart easily like a kid ripping the wings of butterflies." Mary stated, with her index finger pointing at the blonde.

"I can make my own decisions, thank you very much. Klaus doesn't get a say on what I should and shouldn't do." Cami responded. She was tough, the blonde woman, if it weren't for the fact that she was hissing in pain from the large wound on her neck, she would've looked even tougher.

Mary arched an eyebrow at Cami. "Assertive, damsel in distress...blonde. Yeah, no wonder Klaus likes you."

Cami simply rolled her eyes at the woman before she turned toward Hayley. "Tell me the plan, one more time."

"Aiden's gonna get Vincent to the altar and then Mary and I are gonna jump him. He's powerful, so we only have a few seconds for Josh to get the shackles on him." Hayley explained while Mary also listened to the plan one more time as she pushed up the sleeves of her jacket just below her elbows.

"If this goes sidewaysβ€”" Mary spoke up but she was quickly interrupted by Hayley when she already figured out where she was going with that.

"You're not going to use your magic. It would not just be Klaus that would kill us then." The unsired hybrid said. It was the truth though. Klaus would not just be the only one, Kol, Elijah, and Maxime would be lining up as well. Though the queen doubted Elijah would let anything happen to Hayley though.

"I'm not dying at the hands of Finn Mikaelson just when I got Kol back." The former queen.

"You're not going to. You survived this long. What makes you think you're gonna die now?" Hayley assured her.

Mary was not one to question her own power and authority. She knew she was powerful. But after losing everything and getting them back, she was not ready to lose them again.

The former queen simply nodded at the hybrid before they continued with the plan.

"Where's Marcel?" Asked Cami.

"He's looking for Davina." Hayley answered. "He heard she was back in town."

"Overprotective dad stuff." The blonde commented, knowing how caring and protective Marcel was of the little witch that he took under his wing after he found her in trouble along with the other Harvest witches.

"If you wanna call ripping Kol Mikaelson into a thousand little pieces protective dad stuff then yeah, that's it." The unsired hybrid replied, oblivious to the stare Mary was giving them as she narrowed her brown eyes at her and Cami.

"There's also a thing called overprotective girlfriend stuff." Mary chimed in with a sarcastic, yet intimidating smile plastered on her scarlet red lips as she intertwined her hands in front of her as if to appear pure and kind when her words were meaning the complete opposite. "If Marcel so much as lay a hand on my boyfriend's hair, I will summon the witch bitch herself inside me to wipe him off the face of the Earth."

The way she made that threat calmly and with a sweet smile on her face was actually terrifying and even more convincing, especially since she was known across the country by the supernaturals as the vampire who had a few loose screws.

β€”

It was finally time for the plan to commence to the most exciting phase, attacking Finn Mikaelson directly. Aiden was already outside talking to him, luring him into the church acting as if he was still on the witch's side when in reality, Aiden was actually the one who had set a trap for him.

But there was a slight miscalculation in that plan of theirs. They forgot that even if Finn was in a different body, he was still a Mikaelson. And it would be a mistake to underestimate a Mikaelson.

Suddenly, the double doors of the church flew open and in came Aiden's unconscious body, flung inside, landing on the ground and even hitting some of the benches with a harsh thud as Finn made his way inside with a confident stance and a fierce glare.

Josh sped out of his hiding spot to tend to Aiden, worry flashing across his face. The young vampire whipped his head toward Finn who had extended his arms out, turning on the lights and igniting the candles around them to brighten up the previously dim and ominous room.

The witch's gaze landed on the young vampire and one flick from his wrist, the vampire's neck was snapped and he went down next to his boyfriend.

"Camille!" He shouted, his voice echoing as he roamed his eyes around, his mind only worrying about the blonde's safety. "Camille!"

Before he could take any more steps, the hybrid jumped him from behind, causing him to collapse to the ground as Hayley toppled over him and landed a couple of feet in front of him.

"First, I'm gonna kick your ass," Hayley began while Finn was on the ground, turning around to face her. "And then I'm gonna take my pack back."

"Your pack? Last I checked, your pack was blindly following me." Finn taunted as he got back on his feet, his hand extended out to convey his message.

"Wanna talk about following? How do your mother's boots taste?" Hayley retorted before swinging her left leg up, kicking the witch. The sole of her boot landed on the man's face, causing him to drop back down on the ground when the impact of the boot on his face whipped his head to the side.

The hard kick earned a grunt from the witch before it turned into a mocking chuckle as he shifted his gaze back on the hybrid, blood now staining his lips.

"What have you done with Cami?" He said.

Hayley simply smiled before gesturing a sarcastic shrug of her shoulders to provoke him. And that's exactly what he felt. Provoked. Suddenly, Hayley found herself thrown back, a yelp escaping her lips as she landed just a couple of feet from the altar.

"Hybrids die by losing their head or their heart." Finn recited as if he was reading a passage from an old book of supernatural rules, standing back up while Hayley staggered backwards. "And given the choice, I'm gonna take the organ that got you into this mess in the first place."

He then proceeded with a chant in a foreign language, his hand trembling as he held it out toward the hybrid accompanied by the magic that was seeping out of him. The magic seemed to have pulled her back up on her feet and she clutched her chest, feeling like her heart was trying to break free from the rest of her body literally.

Blood started pouring out of Hayley's mouth and when she looked down, she saw her white top underneath her black jacket now stained with the same color of her lips. Crimson.

Before Hayley's condition could get any worse, Mary could no longer wait for the hybrid's signal seeing as Hayley looked like she was incapable of giving one at the moment. The former queen emerged out of the shadows and sped toward the witch, her fangs immediately digging into his neck. The loss of Finn's concentration on the spell he was chanting released Hayley, dropping to her knees to recover from her heart forcing to be ripped out.

A yell erupted from the witch's compromised throat as Mary dug her fangs further into his neck, deepening the puncture wound and increasing the amount of blood she was taking from him.

Finn held out his hand and focused his magic on a non-verbal aneurysm spell that spawned a wave of unbearable pain in Mary's head. A scream escaped her lips, freeing the witch from her vicious fangs as she stumbled backward with her hands tangled in her auburn hair, clutching her head in agony.

"I wonder how broken I can make your already shattered mind be." Finn snarled before increasing the impact of the spell on her, her scream getting even louder as she knelt to the ground, blood dripping from her nose.

She didn't want to die. Not yet. Not when she just reunited with Kol. She refused to die.

Mary thought that being in a church made her prayers even louder above when the pain suddenly dissipated into the feeling of a mere hangover before it completely vanished. The auburn heretic looked up to see the witch jabbed by an arrow to his chest.

Someone from the second floor of the church jumped down with a bow and arrow in hand. His hair was quite long and thick, a bit wavy and black. He was clad in his denim jacket and pants. And his face, his face looked like he was ready to make Finn pay for hurting someone he loved.

Mary sure knew it wasn't her.

The man, Jackson, shot another arrow toward Finn and it pierced his right leg, causing him to stagger backward and drop on the steps toward the altar. He groaned from the pain that stemmed from his chest and leg as he sat sideways on the steps, looking at Hayley, Mary, and Jackson.

Mary was getting back on her feet when Finn tried to pull the arrow out from his chest with both of his hands, which only made it easier for Cami to come in and cuff him with the antimagic manacles. The witch looked up and bafflement flashed across his face at the sight of the very woman he was trying to save, the very reason why he was in this fight in the first place.

Bewilderment was soon replaced by the look of betrayal before he held up his hands to try to and use his magic but to no avail. His eyes examined the cuffs around his wrist that was restricting his magic, still panting from exhaustion and pain.

"You would've done the same thing to me, Finn." Said Cami, letting Finn know that she was aware of who he really was.

β€”

"MARCEL!"

Mary's furious voice echoed in the halls of the Mikaelson compound. The minute she received news about Marcel capturing Kol just for sport, the woman went marching in like every step she was taking was leaving a hot trail of fire behind her.

When Mary reached the room where everyone was, she saw Kol already chained to the staircase, his hands tied above his head while Klaus, Elijah, Maxime, and Marcel stood and watched.

The auburn heretic averted her gaze from Kol and shifted it towards Marcel, the woman's gaze turning into a raving mad glare. She took heavy steps toward the vampire, ready to rip his head off his neck only for Klaus to step in between them, his hands flying to the auburn heretic's arms as he tried to stop her.

"Get out of my way." Mary growled while she tried to shake his hands off of her.

By this time, Hayley had already entered the room with a tied up Finn, watching everything unfold before their eyes.

"He was just jesting around, little fox." Klaus explained.

Marcel, who had his arms crossed against his chest, reasoned out as well. "I just needed to get him back for messing with Davina."

"Well, I'm gonna mess you up." Mary said with gritted teeth as she tried to push past the original hybrid and completely failing to do so. It only took hearing the voice of her beloved for her to stop.

"Mary." Kol called out. The auburn heretic looked at Kol. "I'll deal with that myself. Can you offer me a hand, though? This is getting quite stiff and neither of these assholes were decent enough to let me go."

Mary sighed deeply while shooting one more glare at Marcel before shoving Klaus's grasps off of her, the original hybrid holding his hands up in surrender. The former queen turned toward her boyfriend, finally approaching her and uncuffing him. It seemed as though the manacles that were tying his hands together were the same as the one that Finn had on him.

Kol smiled upon laying his eyes on her again, but that smile was short-lived when he saw the dried blood trailing down her neck and staining the collar of her top. His eyebrows furrowed in suspicion before placing his hands on her, one on her jaw to lift her head up a bit and one on her neck to trace the dried blood on her skin.

He didn't need to ask what happened or who did that to her. The answer was as clear as day.

The blonde witch's gaze turned into a glare when he looked at his brother Finn. His jaw clenched before walking past Mary and toward him.

"We had a deal!" Kol growled as he marched toward Finn. He caught his brother's neck in his tight grip, squeezing his throat in anger while Finn was helpless and powerless with the shackles on.

"You do whatever you want. But don't hurt Mary!" Kol said, reminding his brother of the deal they made. The blonde witch's eyes were wide in rage. If looks could kill, Finn would already be burning in hell.

"I don't need to be a vampire to rip your throat out." Kol threatened Finn with his grip on his throat tightening even more.

Mary stood there with her arms crossed against her chest, simply watching the events unfold. She didn't really mind if Kol killed Finn right then and there. Hell, she'd even sleep like a baby after seeing his bloodied corpse on their carpet.

"Kol, unhand our brother, please. We still have a lot to discuss before we resort to such lengths." Elijah told his wrathful brother.

Kol glared at Finn while squeezing his neck even more before forcing himself to let him go. Finn almost dropped to the ground when he was released. He immediately sucked in a deep breath, getting as much air as possible back in his lungs as he coughed.

The blonde witch turned to Elijah with a toned down angry look before he spoke. "If it's time to kill him, I'll do it."

Elijah simply nodded once in response. Kol looked back at Mary before walking back toward her. Meanwhile, Maxime and Hayley whispered to one anotherβ€”despite most of the people in the room having enhanced hearing.

"This is the most aggressive couple ever." Maxime commented.

Hayley could not help but smirk at the man's words. She shrugged her shoulders and replied.

"Overprotective couple stuff."
