Chia is a short beautiful young woman, with a curvaceous figure that added weight during pregnancy but her figure became slimmer as time passed, however her figure is often covered by the baggy clothes she wears but shows slightly more in her new jujutsu tech uniform.

Chia has a pale complexion with her cheeks being a naturally soft pink color, big crimson colored eyes with heavy eye bags due to long hours of working and taking care of her daughter and thin heart keyhole shaped lips, her hair reaches to her mid back and is a light cherry red color which she often keeps in a high ponytail when she is doing work or is really busy.

On her skin, she has stretch marks caused by her pregnancy on her stomach as well as a scar from the c-section and a straight scar from an incident during her early stages of pregnancy.

During the events of Jujutsu Kaisen Season One as a first year student, Chia Shiraki's jujutsu uniform consists of a dark blue gakuran-style top (a button down jacket) with a white button up long sleeved shirt underneath with a matching pair of long loose pants. She also sports black combat boots and black fingerless gloves.

For her hair, she keeps it in two braids tied in high ponytail tied and decorated with ribbons (with the help of Ichika and Nobara) or sometimes when she's lazy, she keeps it in an ordinary high or low ponytail or sometimes keeps it loose.

Her hair is kept loose but has grown darker in color to show her dark nature growing worse and her cursed energy used for evil.

For a source of power, she holds a golden heart shaped locket with a picture of her daughter Setsuna to keep as a motivation for her mission.

During her early teen years for normal days and casual outfits, Chia wore more girly and feminine styled clothing in mainly bright colors such as pink, white, blue, yellow, green, red and other brighter and softer colors and wore different variations of dresses, different styled t-shirts and tops, jeans, pants, skirts and shoes, however after giving birth to her daughter, Chia changed her style of clothing to darker like black and darker shades of clothes but still keeps a lighter shade of variation but her clothing size and style became bigger and more different throughout the months of taking care of her daughter.

Chia is a kind, emotional, passionate and optimistic individual who can initially come off as somewhat aloof and stoic, when working on her jobs and when it comes to important tasks, she can be rather straightforward, being remarkably collected and able to keep her composure during chaotic and dangerous situations. However when you interact with her, she is incredibly polite and shows an easygoing and refreshing personality, she is also very friendly to everyone she meets.

However, this personality can often surprise others when they find out Chia is a teenage mother to her baby daughter named Setsuna. As a mother, Chia shows herself to be very protective and attentive of her daughter Setsuna, showing her strong maternal instincts when it comes to children, being very friendly, kind and patient to them as well as the parents as she understands what it can be like as a child and a mother. She shows herself to be quite sensitive to this side of her when it comes to her past before her daughter, but it's not because of people knowing she is a mother but because of traumatic incidents that happened before the event.

In flashbacks of Yuji and Chia's childhood, Chia as described by Yuji Itadori to have always been friendly and bright girl, her wild and brave side had made her very popular along with her beautiful appearance and abilities to sing and dance, as she was originally supposed to be an idol in training at that time. Chia and Yuji had shown to have a strong friendship before his family moved to the countryside and they unintentionally lost contact. However, Yuji comments how Chia seemed to have mellowed and calm down from her usual wild and rash personality but still seemed to be the same, that she was still the extremely kind-hearted, open-minded, gentle, compassionate, optimistic and fun-loving girl who cherishes her daughter, her family and her friends dearly.

It reveals in flashbacks that Chia was more easy-going and more expressive of herself with her friends and the family in the past, before she was in a relationship with her now ex boyfriend, Toshiro Oto, an old middle school friend of Yuji Itadori. During her relationship with Toshiro, she used to be more innocent and also "gullible" as described by friends and even more confident in herself, her abilities and who she was, this however started to change during her relationship with Toshiro as it grew from romantic and genuine, to toxic and abusive. With little insults and back-handed compliments about Chia's personality, Chia started to quiet down and stopped talking as much, even changing to her outfits and appearance to Toshiro's liking when he showed more controlling and domineering aspects of his personality. Chia's bright and confident personality started to turn quiet and slowly became more insecure within herself, making her eat less than what she wanted and truly needed, spoke less about her interests and started to seek approval from others, something she didn't typically do in the past.

As the relationship got worse and more toxic, Chia and Toshiro eventually got into more arguments but this caused Toshiro to grow more violently angry, this resulted from being pushed to tough grabbing on the arm, eventually even slapping Chia and punching her at times so she would submit to him in fear. This often made her hide bruises, scratches and other minor injuries he caused at her home, her school and even idol training. Chia became more withdrawn and was only left as a shell of her old personality, becoming more secretive of her struggles. As Toshiro started to isolate her from her family and her two best friends, things started to get worse as she tried to appease Toshiro as much as she could so she wouldn't be hurt by him.

Toshiro eventually started to ask for sexual favors from Chia, even full intercourse and many times she denied as she wasn't comfortable or ready, but this often lead to physical violence and emotional and mental torture, even wearing her down by asking her multiple times and she eventually gave in close to the end of her first year of high school, this traumatic event caused Chia to fully withdraw and to become more quiet and meek around her friends, he became more violent and abusive during days he was angry with other things which often made her try to please him, this eventually caused her to develop people pleasing tendencies as she didn't want to be hurt again by him.

When Chia entered her second year of high school, she found she was pregnant and during that time, she admitted that she was scared and didn't know what to do but something in her gut feeling told her not to give up the child and she decided to follow through with it and in confronting Toshiro about the matter, he got angry but gave her an ultimatum; to either get an abortion and he'll stay with her or he will break up with her and make her face hell worse than anything else. Trying to plead with him to just give her time to make a decision, Toshiro got even more violent and broke up with her on the spot, leaving her that day crying.

Chia states that the pregnancy and her daughter saved her life, as showing when she finally gathered the courage to tell her mother, her older brother and her friends everything that happened with Toshiro and what he did to her. Due to the abuse and trauma she endured from Toshiro, she developed people pleasing tendencies as well as other habits she developed such as walking on egg shells around peoples feelings and reactions, as well as flinching when someone raised their hand at her or when someone asks her about the night of her conception of her baby, she ends up crying and enduring a lot of panic attacks from the memories.

After time and recovery with the help and support of her friends, Chia was able to carry her baby full term and heal little by little bit from the trauma and abuse she endured. She became more mature and someone more reliable, dependable and independent for herself and her daughter. Chia is willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good of her daughter and her friends and is very protective of her loved ones, especially her daughter and has no trouble going to extreme violence at times when it comes to defending those she loves and or even depending herself if she has too, showing that despite her compassionate and kind nature, she is will show no mercy to enemies who have want to her daughter or those close to her, instead expression such sentiments with with a fierce tone.

She sometimes has little to no regard to her own life and health due to her traumatic experiences and wanting to block them out with working herself until she is very exhausted, given her desperation to keep her past abusive boyfriend happy believing she genuinely loved him and that he loved her, feeling an immense amount of guilt that she caused to her family and her friends who worried for her during the whole time while she was unaware of what she was enduring until it was too late.

After giving birth to her daughter, Setsuna, Chia always tries to wear a brave smile on her face, remaining sweet, hardworking and positive, while also being considered to be a bit air-headed when tired as well as also selfless and considerate of people's feelings. Chia is also incredibly patient, polite and considerate to people's feelings, when people get through her stoic demeanor her lovable and soft aura easily draws people in, making them feel understood and accepted. She is a very nurturing and this trait of hers strengthens with unconditional love and even becoming more empathetic to those around her as she's willing to help those around her.

Her hyperfocus on her working and taking care of her daughter, lack of socializing in her free time and her past abusive relationship have left her entirely clueless when it comes to romance. She shows herself to be easily flustered when people compliment her and can become very shy when someone shows to be romantically interested in her at first, however after spending time with them and allowing herself to grow more comfortable with the person she is romantically interested in, she shows herself to be a loving, attentive and considerate partner.

Chia however, can show a blood lustful and angry side to herself, wishing revenge on her abusive ex boyfriend and the friends who betrayed her after finding about her pregnancy when she was convinced to believe that they planned to kill Setsuna, even after the threat was planted by Mahito and Kuragari. Her vengeful side shows herself willing to become a curse user and wield dark forbidden magic to achieve her goals shows what almost became her downfall, with her maternal instincts and kindness taken advantage of by Mahito and Kuragari, made her a perfect target to manipulate. However, after finding out the truth and being snapped out of it, Chia is regretful of her actions and even attempts to make it up in anyway she can to undo as much damage as possible.

After joining Jujutsu Tech, Chia starts to become more expressive of herself and she opens up to her friends, asking questions on jujutsu sorcerer and how to manage her cursed techniques and how to fight against cursed spirits and curse users. Being the "Mom" friend of the group, Chia can be strict when she needs to be but at the same time, supportive of her friend's and classmates decisions and feats, always trying her best to cooperate with them. Chia can be quite stubborn at times when it comes to work and shows herself to be often overworking herself to either handle her trauma or because she truly wants to get work done.

Chia admits to be insecure about herself and her abilities as a jujutsu sorcerer, a mom and a girlfriend at times, believing she is not good at anything and she's afraid to fall apart and that her failures would make everything fall apart, constantly worrying that she's not good enough. However, with the support of her friends and regaining confidence in herself, she starts to become happier with her skills and starts to slowly regain the brighter and braver personality she possessed in her childhood.

As time goes on, Chia learns to speak for herself again, make self-serving requests once in a while and allow other people to help her and feel worthy of that help. The process, she grows more assertive of herself and bold of her personality and needs, standing her guard when she needs to. She learns to keep her heart open with the people she loves and cares about and in the end, wants to live life fully despite what happened to her and be the mother her daughter deserves, even when she was brought into a world in a traumatic memory for Chia, showing her admirable inner strength while remaining the self-assured, strong willed and had become while still staying the kind-hearted and wise girl she always has been.

Prior to meeting Mahito and Kuragari, Chia was weak. She was an average non-sorcerer who had was a teenage mother after facing serious bullying from her former friends and her ex boyfriend who isolated her. Mahito and Kuragari much like Junpei, altered Chia and turned her into a sorcerer, allowing Chia to get her revenge for herself and her daughter Setsuna. To her former peers and her ex boyfriend, it looked as if Chia turned into a banshee with psychic powers they could not perceive. They were unable to view Chia's jujutsu and Toshiro Oto suffered a wrath he couldn't even see. Chia gained the ability to scream as a banshee and other powers that were inherited from her late family members who were jujutsu sorcerers. This allowed her to put up a fight against Yuji, who was a relatively new sorcerer at the time.

During her time at Jujutsu Tech, Chia is ranked at Grade Three sorcerer level alongside Junpei Yoshino.

Despite her physical body being a bit weaker than her classmates, much like Ichika Fujimura, she shows great flexibility and mobility showing from her past experiences of being an idol and dancing a lot of different choreography which required a lot of flexibility and swift body movement.

Chia is a very talented singer, as noted by everyone around her which almost started her career as an idol. Chia was gifted these powers from a previous jujutsu sorceress (from Ancient Greece named Serena Teresi who had siren physiology and capabilities stolen from Kuragari and Machiko Anzac). With this, Chia is capable of emitting astonishingly beautiful and enchanting singing voice that is capable of summoning/luring anyone who hears it to come towards the singer or to try to reach the source of the song, no matter what dangerous obstacles are in the way of the path (it may even just mesmerize a subject or make them fall in love). No matter what anyone who hears it becomes entrance willing to follow and obey her orders. She is capable of creating illusions and allowing them to see what the target wants to see, if Chia sees fit.

The attack usually as a destructive stream or a destructive wave of sonic energy and can only destroy anything in front of her unless they turn around, moving the scream in the process. The sound of her screams and how much power she uses can depend on the damage she causes, which can cause glass to shatter, to repel targets with immense air pressure, she can also disorient, injure or even outright kill any human or cursed spirit by fatally rupturing their internal organs or reducing their bones to powder.

She is able to release and channel this ice to create durable ice walls and domes that can be used offensively and defensively. She is able capable of using a large capacity to freeze her opponent's to death by trapping them in ice that slowly kills their cells or shattering them to pieces once frozen. During her time at jujutsu tech, she is able to shape and control ice, such as turning ice shucks into icicles to pierce her opponents or icy wind to render it difficult for them to see or some cases for humans to breathe. While she is not as powerful as Fuyumi Kuraokami in this ability, the cursed YukiOnna admits that when Chia is fully able to control this part of her ability, she can use this greatly and become a formidable opponent in combat.

After her traumatic abusive relationship, Chia's self esteem and confidence lowered quite drastically from the results of Toshiro's berating, insulting and tearing her down during their relationship. However after transferring to Jujutsu Tech and healing from her wounds, they start to become higher again and stronger than before.

Chia can be very reckless with decisions at times, sometimes acting before she thinks and sometimes putting herself at risk with her decisions.

While Chia did learn to become more patient, she still has impulsive tendencies and decision making skills when she gets impatient.

When angered enough or when someone has threatened her loved ones, Chia can become very vengeful and angry, often leading to physical violence and torture if needed.
