"YOU AND JACK ARE SOULMATES."

Those specific five words kept ringing in Aurora's head, still not sure if she heard Castiel correctly. She knew that there was a pull towards the Nephilim, but soulmates? She thought it was absurd.

"W-What? How can we be soulmates, we haven't known each other for very long. I knew there was a strong pull towards Jack, but I wouldn't think it meant soulmates."

"Aurora, I sensed it the second I entered the bunker. I haven't seen something like this ever since... never mind, it doesn't matter, but the connection the two of you have is everlasting."

The teenager stood dumbfounded in the middle of her room, still not completely processing the angel's words. It was hard for her to believe that she and Jack are soulmates, but what scared her, even more, was the thought of Jack not reciprocating the same feelings.

"Woah, well, I need to process all of this, but in the meantime, can you please not mention anything to Dad? You know how he gets when it comes to mentioning my adulthood." Aurora let out a stifled laugh, making the angel snicker as well. He nodded his head knowing Dean certainly is a bit of a helicopter parent.

Castiel was about to leave Aurora's room, but before he could take another step, the angel turned around and questioned the girl.

"Did Dean ever let you back into school after the vampire incident?"

"No, he pulled me out because, after that incident, Dad got even more protective of me now, why?"

Castiel didn't respond right away as he showed a small tug on the edge of his lips forming. "Nothing, it's just I'm glad he didn't let you go back because I wouldn't have let you gone back to that hellhole either."

Aurora smiled at the fact of how protective Castiel is over her. If someone dared to ever hurt Aurora, the Winchester brothers and Castiel would have to fight to get into a line to see who would attack them first.

Dean was in a rather cheery mood while entering the motel room, gawking over the cowboy frames hanged onto the walls. Aurora stood between Jack and Castiel, smiling at her father, finally seeing him happy for the first time in a long time.

"He really likes cowboys," Jack stated, referring to Dean who was still talking about cowboys. Aurora nodded her head, vividly remembering how much Dean loved cowboys. One time for Halloween, Dean made Aurora dress as a cowboy, the father-daughter pair wearing matching costumes.

"Yes, yes he does," Castiel replied in his typical monotone.

"All right, I say quick shower, steak dinner, and then tomorrow, we hit up the cemetery."

"Sounds like a plan," Sam said while following after Dean. Castiel, Aurora, and Jack stood in their same place, deciphering who should take the couch for sleeping.

"You can have the couch if you guys want," Aurora said staring back at the angel and the Nephilim.

"No, Aurora, you need sleep. I want you to sleep on the couch." Aurora smiled at Jack for his caring tone, while Castiel stood stiffly as a third wheel, thinking internally that his interpretation of Jack and Aurora being soulmates is true.

"Jack, it's fine. I'm a teenager, I don't need sleep," Aurora stated, whipping her hair dramatically over her shoulder.

Jack smiled at the girl, taking in every feature in her smile, loving to see when she was happy, but that dissipated when he knew that Aurora really did indeed, need sleep.

"No, either you sleep on the couch, or I will make you sleep myself," Jack said in a stern, yet soft voice.

"And how would you make me sleep?"

Jack was about to put two fingers on Aurora's forehead, but before he could, she backed away quickly, completely forgetting the fact that angels could knock humans out.

"Okay, okay, okay! Fine, I'll sleep, but I'm using your lap as a pillow." Jack nodded his head vigorously in agreement, not minding at all to use his body for Aurora's comfort.

Aurora left the room, leaving Jack and Castiel alone by themselves. Jack turned to Castiel and saw he was staring at him with a smile plastered onto his face and he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

"What is it, Cas?"

"Oh it's nothing," Castiel said, a smirk evident on his face. He left the room, leaving a dumbfounded Nephilim, wondering what that was about.

Castiel and Jack were speaking softly, careful not to wake the sleeping Aurora in Jack's lap, and were talking about angels in heaven. Jack questioned the angel about heaven and what it was like, only for Castiel to express his negative and positive thoughts about the place upstairs.

"My mother's in Heaven," Jack stated softly, Castiel nodding sadly in agreement.

"Yeah, I know she is. Kelly was... She was a very brave woman."

"She left me a message. She said I had an angel watching over me." Castiel stared at Jack sadly, feeling guilty for not being there for him or Aurora, knowing how much they desperately needed him.

"Jack, I'm so sorry. I-I should've been here for you."

"No, it's okay, as much as I missed you, I had..." Jack looked down at the sleeping Aurora in his lap, smiling at her soft snores that escaped her mouth.  Castiel looked down to Jack's gaze and he smiled, happy to see the pair become closer and closer every day.

Castiel and Jack continued to talk about Kelly and how she was an amazing person to get to know, but that conversation was abruptly interrupted by a beeping sound escaping the laptop. Aurora fluttered her eyes open at the sound, Jack staring down at her with a bright smile.

"Good morning, Aurora!" Jack greeted in a happy voice.

"Morning," Aurora mumbled to Castiel and Jack, still being half asleep.

"Oh, wow. I'll go tell them." Jack got up from his seat making the girl get up as well and when she noticed the Nephilim was about to wake up Dean, Castiel and Aurora looked at each other in fear, knowing clearly and from experience what happens when Dean is woken up suddenly.

"Um Jack, I wouldn't do that."

"Jack, I wouldn't do that."

Jack still repeatedly tapped Dean's shoulder, only for him to jolt up, his gun in hand and ready to shoot. Jack held up his hands, fearing Dean would shoot him, even though that won't have any effect on him.

"No, no, no! Dean, it's me. It's me." Dean squinted his eyes to see Jack indeed, was in front of him, alongside his daughter and Castiel walking through the saloon.

"Ah, hey. Who's making me coffee?"

Later in the morning, Sam sat with, Castiel, Jack, and Aurora, checking out the murder that happened within the hour. Dean, on the other hand, was still half asleep on the couch, slowly drinking his coffee.

After agreeing that this might be a case, Aurora and Castiel both turned to Dean, but before they could get far into talking, Dean put his hand up then pointed to his coffee, the two of them knowing exactly what that meant.

After the group went to the bank to try and stop the ghoul that was using Dave Mather's face, Dean stayed behind while Aurora, Jack, Sam, and Castiel drove back home to the bunker. Jack was sitting silently in the backseat with Aurora, still upset and furious at himself for killing the security guard. Aurora desperately wanted to comfort Jack, but she hesitated, not sure what to do.

"Jack, you, uh... you okay?" Sam asked, the silence dissipating. Aurora glared at her uncle, knowing that was a stupid thing to ask. Jack simply stared in silence, not answering Sam.

"Jack, I've killed people who didn't deserve it... my friends– I've killed people I loved. I wish I could tell you that it– that it gets easier, that with time, it hurts less, but that would be a lie because it– it never gets easier. And those moments, they never stop hurting. But that doesn't mean that you should stop fighting. Doesn't mean that just because you made a mistake – and that's what this is, Jack. It's a mistake. That doesn't mean that you can't– can't be better, do better. I believe that. I have to believe that."

"Stop. Just... Please stop," Jack said with his voice cracking at the end of his sentence. That's when Aurora had enough, she unbuckled her seatbelt, ignoring the questioning eyes from Castiel and Sam, then proceeded to scoot her way over next to Jack.

She hugged his torso, knowing he probably needed a hug at the moment. Jack instantly hugged back, embracing the youngest Winchester in his arms as a small sob escape his lips. No matter the guilty emotions the Nephilim was bottling up, the scent of Aurora's lavender-vanilla shampoo, instantly released some of his stress.

Once they arrived back at the bunker, Jack never left Aurora's side as they sat in the library, while Sam and Castiel were in the war room. Most of the time, Jack didn't speak to anyone, the most he spoke was to Aurora, but it was barely a full sentence.

The bunker door opened, revealing Dean walking down the stairs and Aurora stared at her family as they talked about how the case went.

"What about the, uh..."

Before Sam could finish his sentence, Dean already knew the answer. "Took care of it."

"Good," Sam replied, and when he said this, Jack whipped his head up, incredulous at the men being so calm about this situation.

"Good? How is that good? I killed someone. What was his name? The guard? Did he have a family?"

"Jack, don't do this to yourself," Aurora started, but before she could finish her sentence, Jack abruptly interrupted her, catching her off guard at his harsh tone.

"No, did he?" After he saw the sad eyes of Aurora, his heart dropped once more, believing that he really was a monster.

"Yes, he did." Aurora got up and followed Jack who was standing in the middle between the library and the war room.

"Jack, look, this life, what we do, it's... it's not easy. And we've all done things we regret."

"Just don't. You're afraid of me." Jack's face fell and his head was held low. But Aurora put her hands on his cheeks, forcing the Nephilim to look up at her emerald green eyes.

"Jack no. Please don't-"

"No, every time I try and do something good, people get hurt. I thought I was getting better. I'm not... I don't know what I am, but I know I can't make the world a better place, not like this. I can't even do one good thing. And I know that if I stay, I'm gonna hurt you. All of you. And... I can't. You're all I have."

Everyone's eyes widened, not sure what Jack was going to do next. Aurora's heart started to consistently beat faster by the second. Jack turned to Aurora and embraced her into a tight hug as if it meant their last. Once they pulled apart, Jack gave Aurora a kiss on the cheek, her face glowing red immensely, despite the situation they were in.

"I have to go. I'm sorry." Before anyone could stop the Nephilim, Jack used his powers, gold waves surging through the room, knocking everyone off of their feet. In one blink of an eye, Jack was gone, leaving Aurora on the floor, saddened that her supposed soulmate left her.

The sharp pain in her heart was unbearable now that Jack was away from Aurora and this was the moment that the teenager comprehended that Jack really is her soulmate. Aurora couldn't help but feel like she failed, again, knowing another person has left her life and she felt it was her fault. Still in shock from the Nephilim disappearing, and certainly knowing he was gone, Aurora still called out his name, hoping he would answer.

"J-Jack?"
