Mary Jane Brooks was many things. She was an actress, known best for her role as Lexi Howard in the hit show Euphoria — she was Luna Hayes' best friend and had been for their entire lives, the girl was practically her sister at this point — she was Foolish_Gamers aka Noah Brown's ex-girlfriend, and there was no bad blood between them especially since he was dating Luna, the one he always belonged with — and, first and foremost, underneath the tough and sarcastic exterior she put up, she was actually an absolute hopeless romantic.

Which is how she managed to find herself in this situation, exactly.

Mary Jane wasn't a stranger to streams. After all, that was one of Luna's jobs. And through Luna, Mary Jane got exposed to so many other streamers that she became friends with. No matter what, though, Mary Jane didn't really stray away and watch anyone else besides Luna. She would pop in and out of the others' streams sometimes, but it was rare.

Then all of that changed when a new figure started to become more prominent in Luna's stream — Ellum. The only things Mary Jane knew about him was that he was British, often played terribly in different games due to his ridiculously high ping, and had a reputation of being the "punching bag" in their friend group. She hadn't paid attention to him much, but one day, when her curiosity got the better of her, Mary Jane clicked on Tina and Ellum's wine stream, and . . . oh dear God, she was gone.

Which was completely ridiculous, because she hadn't even met him.

She finds herself falling deeper and deeper for the guy on her computer screen while he has no clue she even exists. Yet, there's one thing she's sure of — if they ever do end up meeting in real life, which the likelihood of that happening was extremely high, the risk of going after him would be so worth it.
