The Front Man observes the players as they glance around in confusion, his gaze scanning for Gi-Hun as he waits calmly for his next move. As the games haven't started yet, the Front Man searches for Hyunrin. He spots her walking through the doors with a purple-haired boy.
''Welcome to the first game,'' sounds through the speakers. ''All players, please wait a moment on the field. Let me repeat. All players, please wait a moment on the field.''
''Hey, senorita.'' The purple-haired guy greets Hyunrin, who glances over her shoulder. ''Don't you know who I am?''
''Do I have to?'' she questions, unimpressed by the boy. The Front Man straightens his posture as he watches along.
''No, you don't. We can get to know each other. Tell me about yourself,'' he smiles.
''Are you hitting on me?'' she questions, her tone hints at disgust.
''In the sea of faces, you caught my eye. My beauty, my flower blooming among weeds,'' he sings. Hyunrin keeps her face neutral, but she wishes to leave. ''Red, orange, yellow, green. I'm a legend, Thanos. Look at us in this blue-green. Now give me the green light. I like you.'' He sends her a heart with his fingers. The Front Man clenches his jaw, forced to watch this boy hit on his wife. He watches her scoff and walk away.
The doors close, and the woman's voice on the speaker continues outlining the rules of the game. Meanwhile, the black-suited guard in the square mask approaches the Front Man.
''We are ready to start the game.'' The Front Man nods and heads to his chamber while the guard takes his place, telling them to start the game.
''Cross the finish line without getting caught in five minutes. If you do, you pass.''
''Everyone! Everyone, listen up! Pay attention!'' Gi-Hun yells. The chattering dies down as they turn their heads to Gi-Hun.
''Listen carefully! This is not just a game! If you lose the game, you die!''
''What is he saying?''
''What are you talking about?''
''We're going to die playing Red Light, Green Light?'' Several questions are fired at Gi-Hun's direction because the atmosphere changes.
''That is right! If they catch you moving, they will kill you! They will shoot you from somewhere!'' he explains. Hyunrin gazes around, thinking how it makes sense why the consent form said 'eliminate'.
''That guy must be drunk.''
''If you get caught, you die! That doll's eyes are motion detectors!'' Most people squint their eyes to look at the creepy doll, however, it is impossible to see from such a distance. Whispers spread among the crowd, with some claiming he's intimidating them to secure the prize money for himself.
''You have to believe me!'' Gi-Hun tries, knowing it is hard to convince such a crowd. They first have to see before they believe what he is saying.
''Do not be alarmed or panic! No matter what happens, do not panic and start running!'' Gi-Hun continues to warn and yell.
''Let the game begin.'' The doll turns around and puts her hand on the tree. The timer turns on and shows five minutes.
''Green Light.'' Several players move forward and freeze once it says: ''Red light!''
''Freeze!'' Gi-Hun yells. The doll's head whirs around and looks. All the people stand like statues.
''Well done! You need to stay calm like this! We just have to move and stop at the right time!'' The doll turns around and calls again.
''Green Light... Red Light!'' The doll turns around to look around.
''Freeze! Don't move and stay still!'' His friend near him flinches, asking him to stop yelling. ''Speak with your mouth covered. It's too dangerous.'' In the next round, Gi-Hun still doesn't move leaving his friend confused.
''Why aren't you moving?''
The next few rounds go repeatedly. The doll's voice echoes through the air, saying Green Light and Red Light. Then Gi-Hun yells: ''Freeze.'' The girl near the purple-haired boy scoffs a laugh.
''Is he high or what?'' she laughs.
''Nope,'' he replies. ''No one is like that when he's high.''
''Have you ever been high?'' she questions, tho not daring to glance over her shoulder. She frowns as she feels something on her neck. ''What is on me?''
''It's a bee,'' he smiles. ''He knows you're a flower.'' The girl screams and moves around to make the bee go away. She realizes she moved and sighs in relief.
''I just moved,'' she laughs. A gunshot echoes through the air and the bullet strikes through her head, splattering blood on Thanos' face. His eyes widened while his heart pounded in his chest. Most of the players flinched at the gunshot.
''Player 196, eliminated.''
''Nobody moves! You must not move!'' Gi-Hun warns.

In-Ho sips his drink as he knows what will happen next and it will lead to a massacre. A woman near the dead girl panics out of fear and moves. She as well is eliminated. Her death causes a chain reaction because more people start to panic and they flee.
''No! Don't move! Stay still! If you run, you die!''
In-Ho watches the clever players who stand their ground, spotting his wife amongst them. ''Don't move! Stop moving!''
''Let me repeat. You can move forward while the tagger shouts, 'Green Light, Red Light.' If your movement is detected afterward, you will be eliminated.''
In the next round, everyone is too shocked to move. Once the doll turns around to call in another round, Gi-Hun runs forward but the rest stands frozen. He held his arm in front of his mouth so he could talk.
''You will also die if you don't make it in that. That doll is a motion detector! But it can't detect motion that's not visible to it," he explains by moving his hand that is behind his back. "Get behind someone bigger than you. Like you're doing follow the leader. We're running out of time. We've got to move!'' The doll turns around and every player starts to form lines.
Hyunrin stands behind the elder woman, who yelled at her son for gambling. Within these lines, they continue to play Green Light and Red Light. The woman behind Hyunrin stumbles into her as if she is struggling to keep on her feet. Hyunrin tries to look at the girl without moving yet without success.
''Are you okay? Get close to me," Hyunrin whispers. A few lines to her right, she hears people stumbling and falling. It appears the purple-haired boy that tried to flirt with her, pushed those people.
The doll turns around and Gi-Hun yells for them to go.
''Let's go!'' As if they are in a movie, they run in slow motion to the finish line. Hyunrin and the girl behind her reach over the line. A few players were still on the field as the doll turned back around, causing player 444 to be shot in the leg. He falls and cries in pain.
"Help me," he begs. In the next round, Gi-Hun sprints to him, telling him he will help if he gets up the next round. The man does what Gi-Hun tells him to and hoists himself to his feet. The doll turns around and the two fall, but they are caught by a third person. Hyunrin supports the man and stands incredibly still.
In-Ho leans forward in his chair, cursing at his wife. He should have seen this coming. It is her personality, to help those in need. With a few seconds left, the three make it to the line with loads of cheering.
''Are you okay?'' Before the poor man could answer, a bullet was shot through his head. Hyunrin flinched as the bullet was just not even a meter away from her.

After the roof is closed, the remaining players are brought back to the hall where they sit in silence. Hyunrin sits with the girl—player 222, trying to process what just happened. In the back of her mind, she could still hear those gunshots. The sound of doors opening draws her attention and the guards walk in with rifles in their arms. The squared guard is in the middle and this time, triangle guards standing beside them.
''Congratulations for making it through the first game. Here are the results of the first game," the squared guard says and the screen decreases in amount of players. ''Out of 456 players, 91 players have been eliminated. Three hundred sixty-five players have completed the first game. Congratulations again for making it through the first game.''
The elderly woman—player 140 boots forward and sits on her knees. "Sir! Please, don't kill us! I beg you!" She begs on her knees and pulls her son with her, who starts begging as well. More players follow their lead.
"There seems to be a misunderstanding," the guard states. ''We are not trying to harm you. We are presenting you with an opportunity.''
''Clause three of the consent form. The games may be terminated upon a majority vote. Correct?" Gi-Hun questions, stepping down the stairway.
''That is correct," the guard replies.
''Then let us take the vote!'' Gi-Hun encourages causing a lot of people to agree with him.
''Alright. We respect your right to freedom of choice. But first, let me announce the prize amount that's been accumulated.'' The piggy bank lowers into the hall before banknotes of won fill the bank. Everyone gazes up in awe.
''The number of players eliminated in the first game is 91. Therefore, a total of 9.1 billion won has been accumulated. If you quit the games now, the 365 of you can equally divide the 9.1 billion won and leave with your share.''
     ''How much is that?''
''Each person's share would be 24,931,500 won," the guard replies which causes frustration by other people.
''Twenty million? You said 45,6 billion!'' the elder man, player 100, yells.
''The rule is that a hundred million won will be accumulated for each eliminated player. If you choose to play the next game and more players get eliminated, the prize amount will increase accordingly," the guard explains calmly.
''How much will it be if you survive until the end?''
''As I already told you, the total amount of prize money for all 456 players is 45.6 billion won. Those who make it through all six games will equally divide the 45.6 billion won."
''So, if you're the last one. You get 45.6 billion won?"
''That's correct.''
''So we can take a vote again and decide to leave after the next game?''
''As promised in the consent form, you can take a vote after each game and decide to leave with the prize money accumulated up to that point. We always prioritize your voluntary participation.''

''Now, let's begin with the vote. If you wish to continue the games, press the O button. If you wish to end them, press the X button. The vote will be held in reverse order of your player numbers. Player 456.'' Gi-Hun steps forward and makes his way down the line.
''Once you finish voting, put the patch you are given on the right side of your chest. and stand on the side you have chosen.'' A few players were chosen in the voting. Gi-Hun interrupts the voting, yelling some sense into these people.
"How do you know this?" the older man, player 100, asks. He is backed up by the man but Gi-Hun's friend sticks up to him, telling him how he wouldn't have survived without him. The older woman tries to break them apart before Gi-Hun yells how he has played these games before.
Everyone falls silent, wondering if he has won the 45.6 billion won. Hyunrin watches Gi-Hun struggle and tells her he doesn't feel victorious. Their silence shifts from disbelief to cheers, as they realize they will survive because of him. Hyunrin watches a triangle guard walk up to Gi-Hun and he pushes his rifle into Gi-Hun's back.
''From now on, we will not tolerate actions that disrupt the boring process. Now, let's resume the vote. Player 228," the squared guard says. The guard holds his rifle to Gi-Hun's back to hold him in place.
"Player 132." Hyunrin walks down to the desk, feeling everyone's eyes on her back. She gazes at the X and the O before pressing the X. The guard hands her a red patch, which she puts on her jacket. She searches for player 222 and stands with her. Player for player pressed the buttons, both X and O.
''Lastly, player 001.'' It's equally divided meaning the first player will decide their fate. A man walks down and Hyunrin can see the back of his head. That seems familiar... Her eyes travel to the screen, waiting for the final decision. The buzzer echoes through the hall as the O jump to 183, meaning the game will continue. Hyunrin's shoulder slumps down as she leaves with player 222.
