Hwang In-ho is a police officer with a high sense of duty and justice. He is on duty, patrolling through the streets of Seoul. When something had drawn his attention, he parked the car and went on foot for a little while.
Further down the alley, he heard shoutings from a man. He watches from a distance, his instincts telling him to intervene, unsure of what is happening but certain he doesn't like the tension between the two. The man is loud, and aggressive, gesturing wildly, but the woman—stands her ground. Calm. Unmoved.
Just as he starts to step forward, ready to confront the man himself, the woman's voice cuts through the air with precision. Her words are measured, and firm, and though she is quiet, there is no mistaking their power. The man stammers, then falls silent, visibly deflated. With a final, pointed remark, she turns and walks away, leaving the man standing there, speechless.
In that instant, something inside him clicks. His initial impulse to protect has shifted into something else entirely—admiration. Awe, even. He has been ready to rush in and play the hero, but she doesn't need anyone's help. She is the hero of her own story.
As she walks past him, he can't help but glance at her, his thoughts swirling. She doesn't even seem to notice him, her focus solely on whatever she has to do next.
But something at that moment, the way she had so effortlessly taken control of the situation, stayed with him. She is a force, and he cannot shake the feeling that he wants to understand her, to know the story behind those quiet yet powerful words.
Duty forgotten, he stands there for a long moment, watching her disappear into the crowd.

Hwang In-ho smiles at the thought of it. The very first time he laid his eyes on her. He is grateful fate granted him a second time to see her. In-ho knew he had to shoot his shot. By the thought of it, he couldn't help but smile. Yet, that smile fades once he realizes she is no longer with him.
He turns to his side, imagining the face of his beautiful wife. With a faint smile and a tear rolling down the bridge of his nose, he fell asleep. Dreaming of her.
Always dreaming of her.

Choi Hyunrin sips her tea while reading her book in a peaceful corner of a cafe.
Meanwhile, the door opened. Hwang In-ho walks into the cafe after his shift ended. He gazes around the cafe and his eyes fall on the woman he saw earlier. A jolt of excitement bolts through his body as he casually strides over to order a drink. He sits at the bar, in sight of the lady. She hasn't noticed him yet, absorbed in her own world, perhaps unaware of the effect her presence had on him.
'Shoot your shot, you damn fool.' A nervous knot forms in his stomach and he is a damn cop. He drank his drink and looked at the woman.
'Be cool, In-ho.' He takes a deep breath before he approaches the woman. His heart pounds in his chest, a mix of curiosity and admiration stirring within him. She still hadn't noticed him as he drew another breath. The slight buzz of the cafe filled the air, but for a moment, everything felt silent.
"Excuse me," he says, his voice steady despite the nerves. She lifts her head away from her book, her eyes sharp but not unkind.
"I couldn't help but notice... back there, with the argument," he begins, unsure where to start. "You really handled that situation." She raises an eyebrow, her head tilting, a small smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth.
"You were watching?" Panic jolts through his body as he isn't sure if it is an accusation or a compliment, but he can only manage a sheepish grin in return.
"Maybe a little. I didn't think you'd shut him down so easily." Her gaze softens for a fraction of a second, and then she leans back slightly, folding her arms as if considering him.
"And what makes you think that?"
"I don't know," he confesses, feeling a strange warmth settle in his chest. "There's something about you. I... I wasn't expecting someone to have that kind of control."
'It is attractive,' In-ho continues in his head. Her eyes flicker, perhaps reading something in his expression. After a pause, she nods slightly.
"I don't give up control easily." He smiles, feeling both reassured and intrigued. This isn't just a woman who handles conflict—someone who might just be a force to be reckoned with for reasons he can't yet understand.
"Would this lady be interested in going on a date with me?" he questions, nervously waiting for her answer. He obviously doesn't want to show that he is nervous. He watches a smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth, clearly not overthrown by the question.
"If you're going to behave like that man did, I'd rather pass," she says before sipping her cup of tea. He shakes his head, his hands also denying.
"I would never treat a woman the way he did," In-ho answers. Hyunrin had guessed he wouldn't and offered him the opposite booth. Without looking too eager, In-ho sat down.
     "Then yes," she smiled.

Hyunrin smiles at the memory of meeting her husband. She vividly remembers the booth she was in and what book she was reading.
Pride and Prejudice.
She remembers the way he drew her attention by a simple: "Excuse me." Within the first look, she knew he was a man of honor. Once he told her about the argument, she admitted she hadn't seen him. Hyunrin would have remembered such a handsome face. Her smile fades once she remembers that her husband is not with her. She turns to her side, seeing her husband in her mind. The way he would stare at her with such gentle eyes. A tear ran down the bridge of her nose before she fell asleep, dreaming of her husband.
Always dreaming of her husband.

In-ho's back leans against the stem of a tree. He has raised his leg, his arm resting on his knee while reading a book. His attention is easily drawn to the woman leaning against his chest. She has her knees curled up and a book in her lap.
They have been together for several years and are smitten with each other. The love they share is indescribable, which is why In-ho feels the engagement ring burning in his chest pocket. The ring remains close to his heart, ready to be given to her forever.
In-ho plans to go for a beach walk near sunset. He hired a photographer to capture these precious moments. He smiles at the thought that Hyunrin will be officially his.
"Have I mentioned how beautiful you look today?" he questions. He watches her head turn to him, meeting those beautiful eyes. Her eyes sparkle at the compliment because they always do. She smiles and shakes her head. In-ho leans in closer and presses a soft kiss on her lips. The way her lips curl into a smile makes his heart flutter, even after hundreds of kisses. She pulls away to look him in the eyes before smiling and kissing him again.

It is a warm summer evening, perfect for a beach walk. The beach is mostly empty, with just the sound of waves gently crashing on the shore. In-ho and Hyunrin walk side by side, their feet sinking slightly into the soft sand. The sun is beginning to set, casting a warm orange glow over everything.
"It's so peaceful here," she sighs satisfied. "I could stay forever." Her eyes are fixed on the horizon, while In-go looks at his soon-to-be-wife.
"I knew you'd like it here," In-ho replies with a smile. He reaches for her hand, suppressing the thundering of his heart. They keep walking, not in a rush, just enjoying each other's company.
Hyunrin pulls In-ho with her to the edge of the water. A gasp ripples from her throat, followed by a chuckle. In-ho watches her with a smile plastered on his face. He feels the ring burning in his chest pocket. He glances at the sun before looking back at Hyunrin.
In-ho pulls her closer and wraps his arms around her to twirl her around. The water splashes around them and only the waves and her giggles fill In-go's ears. He puts her back into the water, his arms firmly around her waist. Hyunrin melts into the embrace, her body perfectly fitting into his.
As if they are meant to be.
Hyunrin lifts her head to look him in the eyes with a smile. It is all she can do when she is with him. In-ho's hands travel to her hands as Hyurnin watches In-ho lower. In-ho sinks to one knee, the cold water touching his skin. He watches Hyunrin's eyes widen.
"Once the sun sets, the sky darkens. However, the moon and the stars illuminate the Earth. It is how I feel whenever I spend a moment in your presence. You are the moon and stars that illuminate my path," In-ho starts, trying his best to stabilize his voice which is difficult because Hyunrin is on the verge of tears. "I remember the first time I laid my eyes on you. I caught you in an argument and my first instinct was to intervene, however, you never needed that. God, you wouldn't even need me to live yet you chose me."
The first tears roll down Hyunrin's cheeks. Those words move her deeply. She knows what is next and knows the answer she will give him. In-ho let's go of her right hand.
"It made me realize something," he continues. His heart thunders in his chest, even though he is sure she will accept. Yet, that one doom scenario spooks around as well. He reaches for his chest pocket and pulls out the ring.
"I would rather share the rest of my life with you than face all the days of this world alone. Choi Hyunrin, will you be mine for the rest of my life?"
"Yes!" she cries. Her heart thunders in her chest as she watches In-ho slip the ring around her finger. She sinks to her knees, cupping his cheeks before kissing him. She pulls away and cries while chuckling. In-ho rests his forehead against hers, not fully believing she will be his.
"My moon and stars," he whispers and kisses her forehead.

A smile tugs at the corners of Hyunrin's mouth as she turns into her bed, unaware that she's wearing a green tracksuit with the number 132.
That same smile appears on In-ho's face as he will soon realize his wife isn't dead after all. However, reuniting in one of the most deadly places?
