THE FAMILY IS IN THE LIVING ROOM, waiting for Greyson and Genevieve to tell them what happened in the confrontation with members of the Volturi.

Greyson sighs and looks at his sister. He knows that his sister's time in the Volturi still haunted her, so he took it upon himself to explain.

"Genevieve and I aren't always at each other's side," He sighs while his hand grips his hair in frustration. The family just waits patiently for their explanation.

"We never told you what happened with our creator, so we will tell you now," Greyson sighs again. This was a hard topic for the twins, but they knew that their new family deserved an explanation.

"Freya was her name," Genevieve blurts out. "-she was our second mother. She took us in her care. We loved her like she was our own mother, and she took care of us like her own children. Freya fell in love with a human. He was her true mate, not just a blood singer," she continues and eyes Edward and Bella-the human shifts in her seat uncomfortably.

"At first, we were against it because Volturi will eventually know, but she has a plan to change him someday. We saw how happy she was, so we eventually agreed, as long as he would become one of us. Thomas stayed with us for two years, and everything was going fine, but," Genevieve swallowed a sob, shaking her head, her hands went to face. Her brother just holds her tightly.

"The Volturi eventually knew of him. Someone reported to them that a human knew of our kind, and they took their chance. We were hunting at the time it happened. He was alone in the house. When we arrived, we saw his decapitated head and a blood message on the wall that this is what will happen when you don't follow the law. Freya was heartbroken, she wanted us to kill her, but we couldn't do it. We were in pain because of the loss too. We considered Thomas as a second father," Genevieve dry sobs in her brother's arms while Jasper stays by her side.

"Freya went to the Volturi to make them kill her, we told her not to, but she reasoned to us that if we love her, we will let her do this, that we will let her go. She said she couldn't live with the pain, but then Aro went through her memories and saw us. Aro took an interest in Genevieve because of her ability. It was one of a kind and a powerful one when developed," Greyson stops and takes a deep breath, and continues, "Freya saw it in his eyes that he wants one of us, she tried to escape, but she was too late, they killed her before she can get away," Genevieve calms herself, and she takes the opportunity to speak.

"The shadows saw what happened and told me everything, they warned us to hide, so we did, but in 1900 they found us; they said we should die because of the crime or the law we broke. Aro was there, and he wanted me badly, so either I come with them, or Greyson dies," She stops and looks at her brother, and he just nods at her to continue.

"So I did come with them. They made me a spy because I can talk to the shadows, I reported many crimes, and they let me join them in killing covens and nomads," She sighed again. She felt disgusted with herself.

"We were separated for forty years, I know not that long, but we were both in pain of not being together. We have a strong bond," Greyson adds.

"I found out that there was another way to live, I was scanning their library when I found a book with many notes, and I found out that you can feed from animals. I saw how they fed from humans, they were monsters, and they also fed from children," Genevieve tells them with a shudder.

"I think the notes that you found are mine. I left plenty of notes in that library just in case a new member wants to change their lifestyle," Carlisle informs them with a soft smile.

"And we thank you for that, Carlisle," Genevieve tells him, and he nods.

"I wanted to escape that hell of a place, and I begged Aro to release me, and I made a deal with them if my abilities were fully developed. I will never use it against them, that I will never overthrow them, and they eventually agreed."

"-In 1940, they let me leave, but Caius didn't want me to leave," She sighs, shaking her head.

"Why?" Jasper asks curiously. He wonders why does one of the three kings didn't want to let her go.

"Caius wants to make me one of his wives, but before he can do that, I left quickly and never looked back," She looked at him with concern. He pulled her closer to him, and he was getting territorial.

"Then we moved every two years so that the Volturi wouldn't seek her out anymore," Greyson tells them and looks at Edward, "-We came here to hide from them, a town that you can't even see in the map it was perfect for us, but what we didn't know is that we will be walking on the same path, that we ran from," He finishes and smirks at Bella. The human just smiles at him nervously.

"That's why we were initially skeptical when a human knows about us. We planned on leaving and hiding again, but we found our mates, and we don't want them to experience the pain of losing a mate, so we stayed and took the risk," Genevieve continues and glares at Edward.

"So you better change her. I don't want to have another run-in with the Volturi. As Jane said, they never give second chances, if she," Genevieve's points at Bella,
"-remains a human, we are walking to our own death sentence,"

"I'll be changed when we get married," Bella confidently tells the twins while Rosalie glares at her.

"Oh, you proposed, Mcbroody. Good for you, you finally man up," Genevieve teases Edward.

"You better change her, Edward. If you don't, and the Volturi wants some sort of confirmation if she is still human or not, I will not hesitate to drag Genevieve out of this country and hide her. My sister is always my first priority. I made a promise to our mother," Greyson tells him sternly. Edward just nods and sighs.

Jasper holds her mate tightly in his arms. The thought of his mate getting taken by the Volturi scared him.

He wished her abilities weren't that powerful so Aro wouldn't want anything to do with her.

He wants to hide her himself.

He wants to be selfish and get away from this Coven, away from the Volturi. To stay hidden in the woods where no one knows their location.

He can't lose her.

Now that he finally found her, he knows Genevieve wouldn't leave the family to hide if given a chance.

He knows that she will sacrifice herself for the safety of the family.

He wouldn't let her do that, and no one would get to her.

As long as he lives, he will die protecting her.
