GENEVIEVE DECIDED TO BE ALONE FOR A WHILE. She is on the balcony on the second floor, enjoying being alone and having peace of mind for the first time in weeks.
Jasper went hunting with Emmett and Greyson. She knew that he just wanted to wrestle with them, so she let him go with the two.
The cold breeze tonight was somewhat pleasant, the air blowing off the trees' leaves, fireflies all aglow lifted off the dewy grasses.
A mile away, the river stream sounds very therapeutic. Glancing up the night sky, she saw the stars sparkling and shimmering.
Until Bella decides to make her presence known to the older vampire, Genevieve turns around to get a good look at the newborn.
She gives her a small smile, though she is confused about why the girl is approaching her.
"Hey," Bella greets with an awkward tight-lip smile.
"Hello, Bella. Do you need help with something?" Genevieve asks her while leaning at the railings.
"No-um nothing, I-I just wanted to ask about how did you-um turn," Bella asks her. Even though she is a vampire, the stuttering doesn't leave her.
Genevieve raises an eyebrow at her, asking herself mentally why she decided to ask now.
"You don't have to if you're uncomfortable," Bella adds while fiddling with her fingers.
"Well, it's not really a nice story, to begin with," Genevieve tells her with a small smile. Bella just nods in response.
"Unlike you, Greyson and I didn't really have time to decide whether or not we'll become a vampire. We were dying," Genevieve starts with a sigh.
So Genevieve decided to tell her story, how she was part of the Salem Witch trials back in 1692; her mother is accused of witchcraft because she healed an incurable sickness and was burned at the stake; being orphans at a young age; discovering her abilities at the age of 19; meeting her first love, being betrayed for the first time; staying at the Volturi; participating in many historical events and then the best part of her life, meeting Jasper.
"So that's what happened so far in my human and vampire life," Genevieve sums up.
"Did you ever regret becoming a vampire?" Bella asks.
"I did. After I got back from the Volturi, I hated my abilities, but they were the ones who helped me from my darkest moments," Genevieve says with a sigh.
"I wanted to end my immortal life. I've been alive for three centuries. I overstayed,"
"What changed that?" Bella asks carefully.
"Jasper did," Genevieve responds, not even giving it a second thought. "He thought I was the one who saved him, but really he gave my immortal life a meaning, a meaning to live, a purpose," she continues with a big smile on her face.
"I wasn't really expecting for a mate. I mean, I've been alive for so long. What are the chances of meeting your mate after three centuries."
"Have you ever missed being human?" Bella asks.
"To be honest? No. When we were humans, we didn't live a good life. I never really lived until we were vampires," Genevieve answers.
"You never wanted to have a family?" Bella slowly asks, as if not to offend her.
"At first, yes, but I thought being a mother was really not for me...I don't want to dwell on my past. Jasper already helped me through it all," Genevieve tells her. "I'm happy now with him."
"Do you think I made a bad decision about becoming a vampire?" Bella asks.
"Yes and no. You made a decision so easily without even thinking of your dad and mom. That was what I always wanted you to know-I missed my mother and father, although my memories of them are slowly getting blurred over the years. Then again, it was your choice to be one of us."
"Thank you for telling me all of this," Bella says with a grateful smile, and she just nods in response. The newborn turned around and entered the home.
"Jazz, love, I know you're there the whole time," Genevieve chuckles while shaking her head.
"Sorry for eavesdropping. I couldn't help myself," Jasper begins and hops down from the roof.
"Just adding my thoughts, you did save me, and I couldn't thank you enough for the love you give me every day. You gave me a reason to have hope," Jasper tells her while lifting his hand up to her face, caressing her cheek.
Genevieve just smiles and snakes her arms around his neck, pressing her forehead to his.
"So you heard the part of me wanting to end my immortal life?" She whispers.
Jasper just sighs. "I did. I couldn't imagine my life without you, darlin', it saddened me that you thought about it, but I remembered that at some point in this life, I wanted to end it all too until I met you, and everything changed in a good way, in the best possible way."
"You made everything better, Jazz, I couldn't wait to call you my husband, and you calling me your wife," Genevieve told the southern blonde.
"And I couldn't wait to call you Mrs.Whitlock. It has a nice ring to it" Jasper smirks at her while drawing circles on her hip with his thumb.
"It really is, but calling you mine is so far the best," she says to him
"I was yours since Alice had a vision of you," he answers honestly.
"Such a flirt, cowboy. You don't have to do that, and you already have me wrapped around your fingers," Genevieve says while twirling his honey-blonde hair.
"I can never, and it'll only get worse when we get married."
"You'll never get tired of me? Or get bored with me?" She asks him.
"Of you? Never, every moment with you is never dull, and why would I get bored? We always do fun stuff together," He says while licking his bottom lip.
Genevieve just rolls her eyes and playfully smacks his chest, and enters the house with a honey-blonde man trailing behind her like a lost puppy.
