Before being forced into a life of murder and horror at the hands of General Dreykov and his Red Room cronies, Masha Tarasova had a great life ahead of her in Moscow - well sort of. Her mother, Alia, had been cycled through the Red Room multiple times before her & her brother Sergei were even born. But, one of the widow handlers, Kavi Tarasov, the nephew of Dreykov, took pity on a group of widows & freed them, thus creating the beginning of her parents' tragically short romance.

Despite best efforts, Kavi was unable to keep the majority of widows free from his uncle forever, and this unfortunately included his lover Alia Ivanova, the mother of his children. Alia, along with others such as her friend Melina Vostokoff, was rounded up & captured then cycled through the Red Room yet again - this time with a new step; sterilisation.

Kavi was also unable to save his children from the same fate, even died trying, but his death was in vain. Masha was captured by Natasha Romanoff at six & was cycled through the Red Room three times in the following twelve years before being freed by Yelena Belova during the long-awaited fall of the Red Room. Sergei was murdered at the hands of the Winter Soldier during an experiment gone wrong......or so his sister was lead to believe anyways.

Victor Moon, born Victor Morgenthau, didn't have the brightest of childhoods as a mutant in the slums of London, and eventually the streets of Latvia. After his mother, Marciana Moon, died during the birth of his younger sister Karli, he was left to take care of her by his drug addict father. From that day on, Victor chose to go by his mother's name over his father's.

At age fifteen, he made the difficult decision to leave young Karli with Mama Donya and literally join a travelling circus. He became known as "The Nightmare" and his signature act was basically being an invincible man. His mutant powers allow him to not only heal all his injuries, but also to reverse his own death - to an extent, of course. Life was going good, he had a new family........until he didn't.

Tony Stark did what Tony Stark does best - he ruined people's livelyhoods. He ruined Victor's when he bought out the circus and fired any & all mutants - which was the majority of the cast. Victor was alone again & at risk of being arrested by the CIA for violating the Mutant Registration Act until former-SHIELD agent Sharon Carter took pity on him & erased his existence from their entire database, forming a new friendship.

That new friendship was what drove him to the crime haven of Madripoor.

―SUMMARY!

After being freed from Dreykov's control by Yelena Belova after the fall of the Red Room, Masha Tarasova chose to flee Russia for a better life........in the crime haven & mutant rampant Madripoor.

There she meets the city's puppetmaster, Sharon Carter, & her comically British bestfriend Victor Moon.

Who, much to both Masha & her frenemy Yelena Belova's dismay, takes an immediate interest in her.
