6. Divulging the Past (4): Ethereal Proposal & First Kiss

Hey! I've updated so soon because I couldn't keep up with my weekly goal!😁
This chapter won't be too long... I'll be posting long or short chapter depending on the plot of every chapter!

So, here you go!

At the Phoenix Palladium, (Rohit's POV)

Newton took around 20 years for his research. Even he did not hurry so much as my family is doing for my marriage. Yesterday we returned from our trip and today they've booked our appointment with a fashion designer for our dresses. I can't understand when we're doing a court marriage, why do we need to wear traditional dresses. It is sucking me so badly. I'm so tired and here see my brothers they are running here and there preparing for this and that! I guess Aashika was right, I'm only becoming a sleepyhead.

Ruhan, "Oh hello! Come out of your delulu! We've reached the place! There's Aashika.."

I rolled my eyes, "Aankhein hi hai mere paas button nhi!"
(I don't have buttons in place of eyes!)

Ruhan, "Then, why don't you greet her?"

I replied back in a frustrated tone, "Can't you see, Bua is also there with us, she'll eat me raw if I go and greet Aashika alone. This was why I told you guys, I don't want anyone to come with me! It would've been perfect if only badi maa, mom, you, Aashika, her parents and I would've been here. Why did Bua come with us!?"

Ruhan, "See, Aashika is coming here!"

Suddenly, I moved around to see her. This lady! She is going to kill me some day with her dressing sense!

Ruhan greets her with a smile, "Hi! Aashika"

I was yet staring at her, admiring her beautiful brown hair and hazel eyes..Suddenly I felt someone's gaze fixed on me...Then, I noticed Ruhan was glaring at me as I did not even wish Aashika till now...

I tried to distract myself, "oh! H-hi Aashika.."

Aashika replied back with a smile, "Hello, you seem too tired!"

I replied back, "Thank you so much, mere upar taras khaane ke liye! Just see these hilarious people! It was 12p.m. when we returned back yesterday and today also, they woke me up at 8 a.m. saying that we've to go to designer for getting our dresses! Like seriously, don't you think we can marry each other without wearing those heavy, embroidered, eye shocking outfits! And also..."

(Thank you so much, for showing some mercy on me! And also...)

I could see Aashika holding back her laughter and Ruhan rubbing his face... then, I realised despite being so tired, I spoke up so much nonsense in a single shot! Oh god! I'm such a dumb...

Aashika with a wide smile, "See, your Bua is waving at us...They are waiting for us... Let's go!"

I held Aashika's hand and she fixes her gaze at me.."Aashika, my Bua is an...utter nonsense! So please don't take her seriously!"

She looked at me in confusion and then Ruhan, Aashika and I moved into the boutique!

I was in no shock to see Siya there. The boutique was owned by her! This was the main reason behind why Ruhan insisted me that he will accompany me!😏

Siya with a wide smile on her face, "Hello everyone!"

Everyone greeted her back!

Her face and expressions looked so desperate to meet Ruhan after our meeting...So, I insisted her to start and finish it fast... Because even I wanted to go and sleep at home.🥱

Siya, "Okay, so first let's go for Aashika's bridal lehenga. Any specific colour preferences Aashika?"

Aashika, "Yeah! Actually..."

Ishwari bua interrupts her, "Arey! No, nothing like that! The lehenga should match our class and look elegant!"

I was so frustrated...Ruhan and I glared at mom to signal her. I held Aashika's hand so that she doesn't feel uncomfortable. Siya also knew Bua's toxic behaviour, so she just started to show th lehengas with her taste.

First, she came up with a baby pink lehenga! AASHIKA JUST HATED PINK COLOUR! Ruhan knew this, so he rubbed his neck because he knew the lehenga was looking classy, so bua will definitely love it and Aashika's parents won't protest against anything. But I don't want my Aashika to wear anything she doesn't like!!

Bua, "Wah! It looks so elegant na! Try this, Aashika!"

Aashika hesitated because she never liked this colour at all!

I said sternly almost shouting at her, "Bua, I don't like this!"

Ruhan glared at me to avoid any fuss around...
Aashika tried to handle the situation, "Ig we can try something else, na. Siya, please show some more designs."

Siya, "Yeah sure!"

I interrupted her and almost shouted, "Anything but not pink!"

Aashika started staring me with her doe eyes. I don't know what she might be thinking because I never asked her about her likes or dislikes..yet I know about everything because when it comes to knowing about Ms. Aashika Singhania, I become a Lil creepy freak!

This time, she came up with 3 bridal lehengas...One was beige, another was bright red and another one was dark red!

Bua, "I guess bright red will suit on her!"

How can this lady decide what suits on my wife...Mmm, more precisely, going to be wife!

I whispered, "Which one do you like?" She started staring at me again! "Arey! Stare at my handsome face, when we go away from here, now tell me which one do you like?"

Aashika replies with a confused gaze, "Your bua has already decided, I guess!"

I mumbled sarcastically, "Oh! So, am I marrying my Bua!!?? Bolo na, which one do you like??"

Aashika, "Dark red one!"

I said sternly, "I like the dark red one! The other colour seems really eye shocking to me!"

Mom started staring at me because I never threw so many tantrums for wearing clothes...

Aashika mumbled (even too tough for me to hear), "Ye kitna Sar phira hai yaar!!"
(This man is so mad!!)

Siya, "Yeah! This looks classy! So if this is finalized, then shall we look for the groom's sherwani?"

Bua with her overdramatic tone (as always), "Hmm, fine...after all nobody respects elders in this house!"

Aashika whispers, "You shouldn't have done this! After all, I just had to wear that lehenga for 3-4 hours!"

I replied back, "You're right! But don't you think she shouldn't have poked her nose, because she didn't even have to wear the lehenga for 3-4 hours!"

Aashika, "You're impossible!"

I grinned, "Oh! To tumhe Aaj pata chala!"
(Oh! So you got to know that today!)

Siya brings up 2 sherwanis which were matching to Aashika's outfit..

I asked her, "Which one do you like?"

She replied back sarcastically, "I am not the one who will have to wear this sherwani for 3-4 hours!"

I rubbed my neck, "Yeah! Ms. Aashika Singhania for a reason!"

She glared at me...I tried to divert her gaze..."Mmm, the third one looks fine!"

Everyone started staring at me...Idk why...

Ruhan suddenly interrupted, "Which is the third one here?"

I checked again, there were only two sherwanis!🤦🏻

Everyone specially Aashika were trying hard to hold back their laughter..

I composed myself, "Mmm...I mean the second one only..."

Siya, "Okay I get it what you mean, I'll deliver this sherwani and Aashika's lehenga to your house by tomorrow!"

Mom had a small discussion with her after finalizing all the outfits. Then we decided to go back, because all the other shopping was done already by them when we were on our trip!

Everybody went back, only Ruhan, Aashika and I decided to have our lunch here...But as expected this Ruhan ka baccha was still inside taking to his gf...Why doesn't this brat understand, what will I answer if Aashika asks me...

"Where's Ruhan?" Aashika's sudden question brings me back out of my silly thoughts...

I stuttered, "Mmm, I-I don't know!"

Aashika was still staring at me with a confused gaze. But thank God, Ruhan joined us again in time.

Ruhan, "Oh! Sorry for making you guys wait. Let's go to the restaurant!"

After our lunch, amidst the non-chalant atmosphere of restaurant, Aashika asks me, "Are you free on 10th?"

I hesitated a bit, "Oh, yeah!Why?"

Aashika, "Nothing much! I was planning for a dinner that night!"

I was so happy, "Sure! I'm free!"

Aashika, "Nice, then, bye!"

Is she going back so early!!🤧

Aashika snapped her fingers, "Hey! Where are you lost?"

I stuttered, "B-bye!"

She made her way towards her car. And here I was again left alone..

Ruhan, "Should we go?"

I was so irritated, "Nahi, yahin ghar basa lete hai!"
(No, let's settle out house here!)

Ruhan again with his teasing tone, "Oh! God, Just now you got a recharge with Aashika! And again your social battery has turned so down!"

I replied back, "You wish to go home with your own feet, right?"

He made his way towards the car, without uttering another word!

At night, (Aashika's POV)

Sitting by the window, I felt the cool night breeze against my skin, a silent witness to my internal battle. The trauma I had endured had left scars, both seen and unseen, and for a long time, I had been trapped in a cycle of fear and mistrust. Each day had been a struggle, haunted by memories I wished I could forget. But tonight, something felt different. As I gazed at the stars, I felt a flicker of hope-a determination to reclaim my life.

Rohit had been my anchor through the storm, his love and patience unwavering. He knows my situation at my lowest and had never wavered, always believing in my strength even when I couldn't see it myself. Slowly, his unwavering support had begun to fuse the ice around my heart. I realized that to heal, I had to take a leap of faith-to trust again, to love again. And Rohit was worth that leap.

I knew it wouldn't be easy. The shadows of my past were stubborn, often rearing their heads when I least expected it. But I was tired of letting my trauma define me. I was ready to move forward, to embrace the possibility of happiness and love. Rohit deserved all of me, not just the fragments I had been offering. And so, I decided I would tell him. I would lay bare my soul, my fears, and my hopes, and let him know that I was ready to fully commit to our future together.

As the night deepened, my resolve strengthened. I knew that this journey would be long and fraught with challenges, but I was no longer afraid. With Rohit by my side, I felt capable of facing whatever lay ahead. I was ready to move on, ready to embrace love, and ready to write the next chapter of my life with courage and hope.
And I can predict this proposal is going to be one of the best moments of his life!

At night, (Rohit's POV)

As the night for my planned proposal approached, my mind was a whirlwind of excitement and nerves. Every day felt like a rush, with my heart racing as I counted down the hours. I wanted it to be extraordinary, a moment that would make Aashika feel just how deeply she is loved.

What I hadn't anticipated was the magical coincidence that made it even more special. Aashika is planning a date on the same night, completely unaware of my intentions. It felt like the universe had conspired to bring our hearts together in this moment.

I found myself obsessing over every little detail, trying to imagine how everything would come together. I hadn't even decided on the venue yet, but I was determined to make it memorable. It wasn't about the location; it was about the love and intention behind it.

Reflecting on our journey, I remembered when I first laid eyes on her. It felt as if the world had stopped, and all I could focus on was her. Over the years, watching her strength and grace through her struggles made me fall for her more deeply. I had quietly admired her, loving her from a distance, and now, finally, I had the chance to express all those feelings.

I was determined to make Aashika feel adored and cherished. She deserved to be treated like the incredible person she is, and I was ready to give her that. I thought about our future, dreaming of a life where we could face every challenge together and build countless beautiful memories.

As the night drew closer, I was a bundle of nerves and exhilaration. I couldn't wait to pour out my heart, to promise a lifetime of love and adventure.

The Proposal, (Author's POV)

Both Rohit and Aashika were determined to make this night extremely enchanting in their own ways! It was around 11p.m. at the Marine Drive. Aashika was clueless about Rohit's proposal and Rohit even didn't tell her anything because he wanted it to be a surprise for her! So, Aashika booked an open area of a resort beside Marine Drive for their proposal! She has already reached there for checking the decor and other arrangements.

Aashika, "My goodness! This place looks enchanting! Tonight is going to be amazing! The moonlit sky, magnificent cityscape of Marine Drive, beautiful fairy lights and these lanterns look so captivating!"

Just then, she noticed Rohit approaching towards her in a semi-formal black attire!

Rohit stopped at a distance. His eyes were entirely glued to Aashika's ethereal aura!

He suddenly comes out of his dreams and pinches his cheek. Aashika wasn't able to interprete his actions as she was too stunned to see him in his black outfit. She was constantly staring at his handsome face just glowing like those beautiful stars.

He approaches Aashika and says, "You're looking so divine and radiant! I swear I won't regret it for even a single percent if I die now!"

Aashika furrowed her brows, "Why are you being negative! You are too looking striking today!"

Rohit yet admiring her gorgeous beauty, "I never expected, you would look so gorgeous in a saree! You might think, I am being a flatterer, but you really look ethereal now!"

Aashika trying to tease him, "Thanks! By the way do you like sarees so much?"

Rohit, "Only when you wear it with so much grace!"

Both were feeling that the conversation has already initiated and it's being really good till now! So it was a time to propose each other but doing it for the first time really feels awkward. And obviously both of them are the biggest nervous freaks!

Rohit trying to initiate, "Aashika, I..."

Aashika suddenly interrupts him, "What would you like to have!?"

Rohit stuttered, "B-b, Let's check on the menu!"

Aashika cursed herself for saying this, "Yes please!"

Rohit, "What about Raviolis with Pink sauce?"

Aashika suddenly shifted her gaze towards Rohit, (it was Aashika's favourite dish) "Wh-what?"

Rohit, "Yeah!"

Aashika trying to compose herself, "Yeah! Fine, that's a nice option"

Rohit was constantly looking at the watch. He was waiting for it to be 12 to propose Aashika...

They chat a lot during the dinner, as usual.
After having their dinner, suddenly Rohit raises his voice, "See, Aashika!!"

Aashika shifts her gaze towards the direction, Rohit was pointing to. It was a shooting star!💫

Both of them stood up and went towards the balustrade, they could enjoy the view of the beautiful sea and the starry sky at the same time.
"What did you wish for?" Aashika asked.

Rohit answered with a small smile playing on his lips, "To be with you for an eternity!"

Rohit glanced at his watch again, but wrong timing!

Aashika made up her mind and knelt down on one knee. She forwarded a beautiful light blue sapphire and diamond studded ring towards Rohit.
Rohit was still processing her actions.

Aashika with her shiny eyes, "So, Dr. Rohit Bhardwaj, I won't ask you if you will marry me or love me to the moon and back, but I want to ask you, Can you be by my side for an eternity? Can you support me & trust me in every situation of my life? I don't want a husband who can give his wife every happiness of the world but I want a husband who can always be there with his wife cherishing the good and bad memories of each other's lives...Are you ready to do that?"

Rohit's eyes turned glossy. Aashika was always an integral part of his life but he never expected that Aashika would make him a crucial part of her life so soon...

Aashika continued herself with her voice a little lowered, "I know people try to avoid insecurities in their lives...But are you really willing to accept the one who has nothing but only her insecurities.."

Rohit replies back with a wide smile, "You know what, not everyone in this world deserves a true diamond and I'm really glad that I deserve one, Aashika! A diamond has its own, rare shine which cannot be handled by everyone, I would be really blessed to have you by me!"

He continued trying to tease her, "Also you just ended up flopping my plan! It was me who decided to propose you first!"

Aashika was too stunned to hear that, "Wh-what? Were you really supposed to do that?"

Rohit lifts her up. There was a distance of just a few centimetres between them. He takes out a blue box which had a ring exactly similar to the one which Aashika bought, the mere difference was that, it had a Ruby in place of sapphire.

Rohit, "I love you Aashika! Since the last 4 years, I've always dreamt of my life with you! I know what you deserve and I might not be able to give you that. Also, marrying a crackhead is not everyone's cup of tea. Even if, I would have been at your place, I wouldn't have dared to accept such a proposal. But I request you to at least give me a chance." He ends up with a sheepish smile.

Aashika, "I don't want to give you a chance!" Rohit was too stunned to hear that. His face turned pale.
She continued her words with a wide smile remarking the journey of their new life, "Because I know you're already committed to me!"

Rohit's face was just shining as the moon. Both of them took each other's hands and in no time they got tied together with their destinies.

Aashika called someone and said, "That's the right time!"

She slightly touched his shoulder signalling him to look at the sky.

Beautiful lanterns were shimmering in the sky with a pattern made up like "R♡A"

He couldn't shift his gaze from the enchanting look! He never expected the so-called stoic of the business world, 'Ms. Aashika Singhania' would be so deep at her heart. This was definitely the best day of his life!

Aashika snapped her fingers to divert Rohit's attention towards her. His eyes were shimmering with hope and deep love in them!

Aashika, "Isn't that a good start to our relationship?"

Rohit, "Nothing could have been better than this, Aashika! Thank you so much for making this day so memorable!"
His gaze was constantly piercing her eyes.

Aashika wrapped her arms around Rohit. He pulled her close, his hands gently cradling her face. He looked into her eyes, seeing his future in them, and then he closed the distance between them. Their lips met in a kiss that was both tender and intense, filled with the depth of their emotions.

Aashika's arms wrapped around Rohit's neck, pulling him closer as the kiss deepened. She could feel the warmth of his body against hers, his heartbeat strong and steady. The kiss grew more passionate, their need for each other overwhelming everything else. The world seemed to disappear, leaving just the two of them in that perfect, intimate moment.

Rohit's hands slid down to Aashika's waist, pulling her even closer. She responded by running her fingers through his hair, her touch sending shivers down his spine. The kiss was a dance of love and desire, their hearts beating in unison under the starry sky beside the unending sea!

Finally they pulled each other apart, this kiss was not only a desperate one but also a passionate one.

Aashika's head was resting on his chest making her feel secure, just completely away from the bare hands of this world! She has never been so close to someone in such a short span of time. She knew it very well that Raghav could provide her all the worldly pleasures but it can only be Rohit who shall provide her the love she really needed. After all, coming so close to Aashika Singhania, one of the deadliest personalities of business world wasn't easy at all. But Rohit's dominating and soft character, at the same time was definitely exceptional. He has already made her feel so comfortable around him with his support and infinite trust on her. It was a perfect moment for both of them!

Rohit, "Mmm...It's yet 1:30 p.m., we need to reach our homes by 3 a.m. so that we can be fresh for tomorrow! Shall we spend some time roaming around the Marine Drive?"

Aashika, "Sounds good! Let's go!"

They went for a walk together with their hands interwined and cherishing each and every moment together!

Rohit, "Have you ever noticed me staring at you or trying to know about you from someone "

Aashika answered back sarcastically, "I never even knew about the existence of a guys like you!"

Rohit said with utter shock, "But you told me we can be friends!"

Aashika, "When did I say so?"

Rohit, "11th July, last to last year!!"

Aashika's eyes widened, "Maybeee! I could've...But I don't remember" she finished with a sheepish smile.

Rohit rolled his eyes at this.

Aashika, "Okay, leave all that! From now onwards we'll celebrate today as our proposal anniversary, right?"

Rohit in a good mood to tease her, "Yeah! What about meeting anniversary?" He smirked ending himself!

Aashika was taken aback...she never knew when did they meet first, maybe before a year or two or even before that! Aashika stuttered, "I-I don't remember that!"

Rohit with a dramatic expression, "What if I say, I remember that?"

Aashika squinted her eyes at this. He continued, "It's 19th July!"

Aashika's face turned pale hearing to the date but she tried to hide her emotions, "Oh! Wow! You have a good memory!"

Rohit, "So, now do you owe me a treat?"

Aashika said with a smile, "Sure! Mr. Sleepyhead is now turning into Mr. Foody!"

Rohit with his doe eyes, "Chalo na, Mint Chocolate ice cream khaate hai!"
(Come na, let's have Mint Chocolate ice cream!)

Aashika started laughing at this, "Seriously so just now, the handsome, bold and dominating Dr. Bhardwaj who had the courage to kiss a striding businesswoman turned into a cute, good going to be husband!"

Rohit chuckled at her sarcasm and shouts, "Aashikaaaaaaaaaa!"

Aashika with a serious expression, "What happened?"

Rohit plucks a white lily, "See this! It looks as simple and ethereal as you!"

Aashika looks at him with admiration in her eyes, knowing her each and every dream might come true with him!

Rohit suddenly says, "I'll call you 'Lily' now!"

Aashika with a smirk, "Mmmm... Tomorrow we're getting married, okay! So resist yourself, Doctor!"

Rohit with his flustered face, "Come, let's have some ice cream!"

Aashika, "Where will we find ice cream at such an odd hour!"

Rohit thinks for a minute and suddenly shouts with excitement. His eyes were twinkling with mischief, "Mere ghar pe!"

Aashika's eyes widened, "Seriously! How can we go to your house now! What will everyone think, yaar!"

Rohit, "No one will think anything except that creepy Bua ji! And even if you come to our house at any hour, everyone will be happy, if they will beat or curse someone it will be me!"

Aashika, "I don't think it's a good idea!"

Rohit, "Pleaseeeee!"

Aashika couldn't deny him, "Ohk.."

They drove through the quiet city streets until they reached Rohit's house. He parked and led her inside. The house was warm and inviting, filled with cozy furniture and soft lighting.

Rohit retrieved the ice cream and scooped generous portions into two bowls. They settled on the couch, digging into their late-night treat.

Aashika took a bite and sighed contentedly. "Okay, this is really good. I might just forgive you for dragging me all the way here."

Rohit laughed. "I'm glad you like it. Mint chocolate is your favourite, right??"

Aashika grinned. "Yupp! Plus, the company makes it even better."

Rohit leaned closer, his expression playful. "You mean you didn't just come for the ice cream?"

Aashika nudged him with her elbow. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. But I'm definitely enjoying both."

They both laughed, the sound echoing through the quiet house.

After a few more bites, Aashika looked at Rohit thoughtfully. "So, tell me more about your family. I need to know what I'm getting into."

Rohit smirked. "Well, you've met Ruhan, Ajay, and Rivan. They're all a bunch of goofballs. Ruhan is the smartest one, Ajay is the most competitive, and Rivan, well, he's the wildcard. You never know what he's going to do next."

Aashika laughed. "Sounds like they keep things interesting."

Rohit nodded. "Oh, definitely. Just wait until you see them at family gatherings. It's chaos, but it's fun chaos."

Aashika leaned in closer. "What about your parents?"

Rohit's expression softened. "Badi maa and mom are the spirits of the family. Others are also understanding. The biggest problem is Bua ji, she is so toxic yet we can't deny the fact that she's out Bua!"

Aashika says devouring her ice cream like she doesn't cared about anything else except that, "Accha...Accha...Accha!"

They clinked their spoons together in a mock toast, then continued enjoying their ice cream, the conversation flowing easily between them. The night felt magical, and the connection between them grew even stronger, promising a future filled with love, laughter, and many more shared moments.

Next morning, At Bhardwaj Villa, (Rohit's POV)

Who knew my brothers would be waking up the last while night, watching movies...And now they aren't just leaving me for a second without teasing me....😒

The morning sun streamed through the windows as I struggled with the traditional sherwani.

Ruhan grinned mischievously as he adjusted his kurta. "Rohit, you look like a royal king in that sherwani! All set to sweep Aashika off her feet?"

I fumbled with the buttons, trying to ignore him. "Just trying not to trip over this thing. It's more complicated than it looks, bro! Ig studying Quantum physics or doing complicated heart surgeries would be easier than this!"

Ajay smirked, leaning against the dresser. "Oh come on, it's not that bad. Plus, Aashika will be too busy admiring you to notice if you stumble."

Rivan, always the wildcard, waggled his eyebrows. "Yeah, just don't fall into the mandap!"

Everyone started giggling...

I rolled my eyes, struggling to hide my smile. "You guys are ridiculous. Can't a man get dressed in peace on his wedding day?"

Ruhan nudged Ajay, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "Speaking of peace, you seemed pretty cozy with Aashika last night. How was the 'ice cream date'?"

I sighed, knowing I wouldn't escape their teasing. "It was fine. Just two people enjoying some mint chocolate ice cream."

Ajay laughed. "Sounds like someone had a romantic night. Aashika bhabhi must be special, huh?"

I shook my head, trying to stay focused. "Yes, she is. And you guys are never going to let this go, right?"

Ruhan, Ajay and Rivan shouted in unison, "NEVER!"

Ajay looked me up and down, trying to hide his amusement. "Bhai, you look like you're about to perform in a historical drama. First time wearing a proper traditional dress, right?"

I groaned, running a hand through my hair. "You guys are impossible. And here I thought you were just here for moral support."

Ruhan clapped me on the back, barely containing his laughter. "We are, bro. But we're also here to make sure you have fun and don't take things too seriously. Chill maaro."

Ajay grinned. "Exactly. Besides, it's all in good fun. And you know Aashika will love it."

I shook my head, laughing despite myself. "Alright, fine, fine!"

As the banter continued, the room filled with laughter. I had to admit, it felt good to be surrounded by family, even if they were mercilessly teasing me. It was these moments that made everything worthwhile.

Ruhan leaned in with a mock serious expression. "Rohit, do you even know how to dance in that thing? You don't want to trip over your own feet in front of Aashika, do you?"

I shot him a look. "Thanks for the vote of confidence, Ruhan. I'll manage."

Ajay joined in, pointing at my sherwani. "Just don't spill anything on it during lunch. That thing looks like it costs more than my car."

Rivan couldn't resist. "And if you do, at least make sure it's something that matches the color. You don't want to look like a walking rainbow."

I laughed, shaking my head at their antics. "You guys are the worst. But I appreciate the concern."

Ruhan grinned. "That's what brothers are for. Now, let's get you ready for the big moment. Aashika's going to be waiting, and we can't have you looking anything less than perfect."

As we finished getting ready, the room was filled with laughter and excitement. Surrounded by my brothers and the love of my life, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Suddenly Titan entered the room in all his glory jumping all around! But the thing piercing my eyes was his pink sherwani, seriously!! I've bribed everyone in the house...so that they don't wear pink coloured clothes..

I groaned, "Titan, baby! Aashika doesn't like pink colour...why are you wearing this?"

Rivan started mimicking bua ji, "Aww! My Titan, I've brought a beautiful pink sherwani for you! Come wear this!"

I understood that this wonderful idea was given by one and only Bua ji..."I want everything to be inclined with Aashika's likes and dislikes, at least for today!" I said while rolling my eyes, looking forward to change Titan's outfit.

But my smarty, Titan, apparently understood the situation and started to gnaw on the fabric. With a loud rip, the sherwani tore, leaving Titan with a slightly tattered outfit.

The room erupted in laughter. Ruhan was practically on the floor, laughing. "Titan, baby, you're a legend! You just saved us from a disaster!"

Ajay, still laughing, added, "I guess he's not a fan of pink either!"

I shook my head, trying to stop my laughter. "Great, now Titan's managed to do what we couldn't. He ripped the clothes given by Bua ji..At least he looks like he's having fun."

Rivan patted Titan, who was wagging his tail and looking pleased with himself. "Good job, Titan. You've made this morning unforgettable."

Ruhan grinned. "Yeah, with Titan's help, this wedding is off to an unforgettable start."

I nodded, still chuckling. "Absolutely. With moments like these, how could it not be a memorable day?"

I took Titan into my arms and after being all dressed and ready for the day, I headed towards the new beginning of my life!

Next morning, At Aashika's house, (Aashika's POV)

As I bustled around my room, getting ready for the wedding, my mom and dad were there, helping with the final touches. Ved was also around, trying to stay out of the way but clearly curious about all the commotion.

Mom was busy adjusting my lehenga. "Aashika, you look absolutely stunning. But remember, don't let your excitement make you forget to eat something before the wedding."

I laughed, trying to keep still. "Mom, I'll be fine. It's not like I'm going to faint from hunger."

Ved, lounging on the bed with a cheeky grin, piped up. "Yeah, but knowing you, you'll be so caught up in everything that you'll forget to eat. Remember last year's Diwali? You nearly passed out from skipping lunch!"

Dad chuckled as he adjusted my jewellery. "Ved's right. And don't think you can skip out on the food. It's a family tradition to make sure everyone's well-fed."

I playfully rolled my eyes. "Alright, alright. I promise I'll eat something. But can we focus on the fact that Rohit's probably freaking out about today?"

Mom raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at her lips. "Oh, I'm sure he's fine. We've seen how nervous he gets."

Ved snorted. "I bet he's already tripping over his own feet, trying to get everything perfect for you."

Dad gave Ved a mock serious look. "Hey, don't jinx it. We want everything to go smoothly."

I grinned, stepping in front of the mirror to admire the final look. "I'm sure it will."

Mom laughed. "Absolutely. And weddings are always full of surprises. Remember your cousin's wedding? We had to deal with that unexpected rainstorm."

Ved smirked. "Yeah, and the way everyone danced in the rain! That was a sight to remember."

Dad with a questionable gaze, "Aashika, these aren't the earrings we bought for you!"

I answered with a small smile, "Rohit gifted me these!"

Mom and dad looked at each other with a smile on their faces.

Karuna said, her voice full of affection, "We're so proud of you, Aashika. Enjoy every moment, and remember, we're here for you."

Ved with his all-time crackhead questions, "Aashika, will you cry for us during the vidaai?"
(Vidaai is the time when the bride is finally leaving her parents and heading towards a new future and new family)

I grinned, "Oh god! I don't know why girls cry during vidaai.. Neither they are leaving this earth nor their family or parents! I won't cry for anyone, after all Bhardwaj Villa is so close to our house. I can come at any hour of the day!"

Ved started mimicking Rohit's bua ji, "If your Bua ji had been here she would say, Log kehte hai shaadi ke baad ladki parayi ho jaati hai yahan dekho modern ladkiyon ki baaten!"
(If your Bua Ji had been here she would say, people say that after marriage, a girl becomes a stranger. But here, look at the dialogues of modern girls!)

We all burst into laughter!

As we shared these playful moments, I felt a deep sense of love and support from my family. It was exactly what I needed before stepping into this new chapter of my life.
