------
At Bhardwaj Villa, (Rohit's POV)

I stood silently by the door, watching Aashika as she walked into our home. She looked so different-zoned out, lost in her thoughts, and so far away from the world around her. The spark in her eyes was gone, replaced by a heaviness that made my heart ache.

She settled onto the couch, staring blankly at the floor, and I felt a sharp pang in my chest. This isn't my Aashika. The joy and laughter that usually filled this space had vanished, leaving behind an emptiness that was almost palpable.

I wanted to rush to her, to hold her and tell her that everything would be alright, but I couldn't. The weight of everything that had happened hung between us, suffocating me. I felt torn. How can I keep her safe if I don't make the hardest decision of my life?

Every part of me screamed to stay by her side, to be her rock, but I knew that if I didn't let go, if I didn't put her safety above my own happiness, I might lose her forever. My mind was at war-my love for her battling against the fear that my presence might endanger her.

I clenched my fists, trying to quell the storm inside. I'll do anything for her, even if it means letting her go. The thought shattered me, but deep down, I understood it was what I had to do. Yet, as I stood there, watching her in this vulnerable state, I wondered how I could ever survive without her by my side.

Something is paining... My heart, my soul, my mind... It feels horrible even just thinking about living without her, without my love. I felt tears welling up in my eyes. I excused myself and went to the garden.

I sank onto the sofa, my heart heavy with a loss I hadn't fully grasped.

I'll have to lose her. The thought crushed me, and I clenched my fists to hold back the tears. I mourned the laughter we'd shared and the future that now felt bleak.

Looking up at the stars, I whispered, "Shiv ji, please keep her safe forever and always." I was ready to tear apart every fiber of my being, to shatter my heart if it meant protecting her. I decided silently that whatever it took, I would sacrifice my happiness to ensure she never has to face it again.

I decided. Yes. I'll shatter her heart for her safety! Today will be the last night I'll share with her and tomorrow I'll break her heart into a million pieces which she'll never give me to mend again.

I went into my room. She had already dozed off. I sat beside her and decided to capture her innocent face in my memory forever. The night felt like a burden, I don't know, should I be happy that I can see her innocent face throughout the whole night or I should be sad that I'll never be able to see her again!

Next morning, (Aashika's POV)

I woke up slowly, the gentle morning light filtering through the curtains, warming my face. As my eyes adjusted to the familiar surroundings, I noticed the empty space beside me. Where is Rohit? A wave of anxiety washed over me, tightening my chest. I quickly scanned the bedside table and felt my heart skip a beat when I spotted a small note.

Aashi,

I had to step out for a bit, but don't worry-I'll be back soon. Have your breakfast properly. *heart emoji*
----

Relief flooded through me, and I clutched the note tightly to my chest. Thank you, God, I whispered, feeling a wave of gratitude. Thank you for bringing Rohit into my life. Please, never take him away from me.

Just then, the door swung open, and Rivan burst into the room, his usual energy lighting up the space.

"Hey, bhabhi! You're finally awake!" he exclaimed, practically bouncing on his feet. "I've got some exciting news! There's a concert tonight in the ground just beside our home! You have to come!"

The mention of a concert made my heart lift a little. "Really? Who's performing?" I asked, curiosity breaking through my earlier worries.

"Some amazing local bands! It's going to be so much fun!" Rivan replied, his enthusiasm contagious. "You need to get out and have a good time!"

His excitement was hard to resist. I nodded, a smile creeping onto my face. "Okay, I'll think about it. It does sound like fun!"

"Promise me you'll try to enjoy it!" Rivan said, beaming.

"Promise," I replied, my spirits lifting a bit. As he dashed out of the room, I took a deep breath, feeling a flicker of hope. Maybe tonight could bring a little light back into my life. (Author doesn't want it to happen 🔪🫣)

Mumbai Court, (Rohit's POV)

I sat there, staring blankly ahead, my hands clenched so tightly my knuckles turned white. The courtroom felt suffocating, but none of it mattered. What mattered was that Aashika wasn't here. She shouldn't be. I'd made sure of that.

This is the only way to keep her safe, I repeated in my head, though it did nothing to ease the hollowness inside. Marrying Mita, my nightmare, was the only way. The threats she had made against Aashika were real, and I couldn't take that chance.

The judge's voice broke through the fog in my mind. "Mr. Rohit Bhardwaj, are you ready?"

My throat tightened. This was it. The moment that would change everything, take everything from me.

I forced myself to stand, my heart heavy with the weight of my decision. "Yes, Your Honor," I muttered, barely able to hear my own voice.

With those words, I sealed my fate-and lost Aashika forever.

In the evening, (Author's POV)
(Please don't kill me guys😓)

Rohit stood at the threshold of Bhardwaj Villa, his heart pounding in his chest. Beside him stood Mita, her presence a cruel reminder of the choice he had made. He had come to deliver news that would shatter the world he once cherished, and as he stepped inside, he sensed the storm brewing among his loved ones.

Inside the living room, Aashika, Rivan, Ruhan, and Ajay were preparing to leave for the concert, laughter and excitement filling the air. It was a stark contrast to the turmoil brewing in Rohit's heart. He cleared his throat, the weight of his decision almost suffocating him.

"Hey, everyone," he began, but the words felt heavy on his tongue.

As the laughter died down, Aashika's eyes lit up upon seeing him. "Rohit! You're back!" She stepped forward, a smile brightening her face.

But that smile faltered when she caught sight of Mita standing beside him, her expression shifting from joy to confusion. "What's going on?"

Rohit's heart sank. "I have something to tell you all," he managed, his voice shaky.

"What is it?" Rivan asked, suspicion creeping into his tone.

With a deep breath, Rohit plunged ahead. "I... I married Mita this afternoon."

The room fell silent, shock rippling through the group. Aashika's eyes widened, disbelief etched across her features. "What?" she breathed, her voice trembling. "You married her? Just like that?"

Rohit felt the heat of her gaze, filled with hurt. "It all happened so fast. I didn't mean for it to be this way. I thought... I thought she was perfect for me."

Aashika's face paled, the laughter and excitement of moments ago evaporating in an instant. "Perfect?" she echoed, her voice rising in disbelief. "How could you think she was perfect for you? We built a life together!"

Rohit's heart ached as he witnessed the devastation in her eyes. "I didn't mean to hurt you, Aashika. I thought maybe this was what I needed to be happy, this was what we needed to be happy!"

Tears pricked Aashika's eyes as she shook her head, disbelief and pain battling for dominance. "You think marrying someone else is the answer? You think you can just walk away from everything we had? You left me when I needed you the most!"

Mita stood silently beside him, a satisfied smirk lingering on her lips as she watched Aashika's world crumble.

"I never meant to hurt you," Rohit pleaded, his voice strained.

"What do you want me to hear?" Aashika demanded, her voice rising. "That you made a mistake? That you chose someone else over me? That I was nothing but a passing phase in your life? I gave you everything, Rohit. I believed in us!"

Silence fell between them, heavy and suffocating. Each word Aashika spoke felt like a dagger, piercing through the wall he had built around himself.

Ruhan, Rivan, and Ajay exchanged furious glances, their loyalty to Aashika evident. "How could you do this, bhai?" Rivan's voice was low, a barely contained fury simmering beneath the surface.

Aashika turned away from him, her heart shattering with each step she took away from the man she once loved. "You made your choice," she said, her voice steady despite the tremor in her heart. "And now I have to make mine."

As she left the living room, Rohit felt the weight of his decision crash down upon him. The love he once held for Aashika, now seemed to evaporate into thin air, leaving behind only emptiness.

With Aashika gone, the room felt unbearably heavy. He could hear the echoes of her words resonating in his mind, but it was too late. He had chosen his path, and in that moment, he realized he had not just lost Aashika, but a part of himself as well.

As he stood there, surrounded by the furious faces of his family, he felt the shattering of bonds that once held them all together. The laughter of moments before felt like a distant memory, replaced by the cold reality of his choices.

"Rohit, are you-you so sure that this is the decision you made or is there something else you wanna tell me.." Aashika came back with a bag in her hand which indicated this was the very last time she was trying to mend everything.

"I'm sure Aashika. Even you can't deny that we married hurriedly, I think Mita knows me better. And believe me, it will be the best for us." Rohit said with a straight face, clarity sparkling in his voice.

Aashika looked at him in disbelief. Whilst Ruhan couldn't hold himself back anymore, he clutched his hands on Rohit's collar ready to destroy him!

"Leave him." Aashika whispered with tears in her eyes. She continues, "Thanks! Thank you really very much for giving me a reality check, Mr. Rohit Bhardwaj, you taught me once again that-
Love is the weapon which hurts the most and belief in someone is the worst decision of one's life!"

With this, she stormed out from the door, leaving behind the hollow soul of Rohit, forever!

Ajay who was trying to resist it back finally stormed, "She didn't just herself go away, SHE TOOK OUR BROTHER AWAY WITH HER! She took the man we ever knew, the man who was the ocean of love, generosity, kindness! I swear, I'll never try to figure my brother in such a whore!"

Rohit knew really well that it was all gone now, his love, his family, the trust which was laid on him and everything!

The Internal War, (Aashika's POV)

I sat on a bench waiting for the cab, gripping the edges as if it would stop my world from spiraling out of control. Rohit... he had been everything to me. His love was once so powerful, almost obsessive. How could it disappear in a heartbeat? How could he walk into the house, hand in hand with Mita, and just act like our love never existed?

I couldn't understand it. The man who had claimed me, held me, loved me more than life itself-how could he marry someone else? How could he look at me with that same gentle face and tell me that Mita was 'perfect' for him?

Tears blurred my vision as the pieces of my heart shattered, each one laced with his betrayal. He had promised me forever. I couldn't stop replaying the moments, wondering what went wrong, what I had done to deserve this. My mind kept questioning, and I had no answers.

Suddenly, my phone rang. It was Rose. I wiped my tears, trying to steady myself, but her voice pierced through whatever strength I had left.

"Ma'am... I just found something, and I don't know how to tell you," Rose said, her voice trembling. My heart skipped a beat. "It... it was someone from the Bhardwaj family. They were involved in your accident... in killing your child."

The words hit me like a lightning bolt. My child! The little life I had lost! My sunshine! The pain that had been dull now sharpened into something unbearable. One of the Bhardwajs? Could it have been Rohit?

No. My mind refused to accept it. But with everything going on, I didn't know what to believe anymore. If Rohit could leave me like this, marry someone else, maybe he was capable of worse. Maybe I never knew him at all. But no, my heart denies this. Still it can be any other man from there family! I need to find it out either by hook or crook!

Feeling suffocated, I got up and walked aimlessly, trying to shake off the suffocating thoughts. The concert ground was nearby, and the soft strum of a guitar drifted into the air, pulling me toward it. Then the chords of "Tera Hua" filled the night, the song that had once defined our love. Our love story.

Samjho zara, samjho ishaara
Tera hoon main saara ka saara
Jaise mujhe tumse hua hai
Yeh pyar naa hoga dobara

Dil mein teri jo jagah hai
Uski koi toh wajah hai
Yeh bewajah toh nahi hai
Tu jo mila...

Dheere dheere se tera hua
Haule haule se tera hua
Rafta rafta tera hua
Tere bin main hoon be-nishaan

Dheere.. dheere..
Dheere dheere se..

Dheere dheere se tera huaa
Haule haule se tera huaa...

My heart clenched, and for a moment, it felt like the song still held a piece of us in it, even if we didn't exist anymore. I sank to the ground, unable to hold it in anymore. My sobs came fast, raw, and I begged-begged Vishnu ji to give me the strength to survive this, to stiffen my heart so I wouldn't feel the excruciating pain that seemed determined to tear me apart.

"Please, God," I whispered, "I can't bear this anymore. I LOVE HIM! Yes now that I have started to love him wholeheartedly, why is it happening!!?" My wails became louder. I can't bear it, it's tearing me apart now!

Shattering your Heart just for you, (Rohit's POV)

I stepped onto the balcony. I couldn't bear it anymore, the night air chilling my skin, but it was nothing compared to the cold inside me. The familiar chords of "Tera Hua" floated from the concert nearby, stabbing through my heart, as if it was mocking me!
It was our song-the one that marked every moment of our love.

Tears welled up as I gripped the railing, trembling with the weight of my betrayal. I had broken Aashika, shattered the love of my life, just to protect her. Mita's threats left me no choice, but I knew I had destroyed her in a way she might never recover from. I've severed all my ties, my relations and broken her heart just for her safety!

"I'm sorry," I whispered, sobbing as the music played. I had sacrificed everything, even my heart, to keep her safe. But in doing so, I had lost her forever. I know that I'll never... I'll never ever regain her, I'll never be able to claim her as mine!

"I love you, Aashika," I muttered, knowing those words would never reach her again. And she would never reciprocate these words to me. It shattered me, it shattered my soul, my everything.

After composing myself, I went to the lobby. I could hear someone in the kitchen. So, I entered and saw Rivan looking at the pan.

I peeked into it only to see kheer which Aashika prepared for me! Maybe the last time!

Rivan shifted his gaze towards me, "I don't know how and why you did it but it's the last time so you can have it. Bhabhi made it for you! "

He left the place without uttering another word.

I looked blankly at the pan. Tears welled up in my eyes. I don't know should I have it or not? It's the last time, I'll ever be able to have it. It's the last time I'll be able to cherish her care towards me!

It's the last time!🩶
