MIKE POV-

---- Thursday 7:41 AM ----

"Yes mum" Mike sighed into the phone, his mother calling him to tell him all about how to treat his boyfriend, she gave him points from when she was younger; gleaming bright from the other side feeling like a teenager who was giving her friends tips on how to ask their crush out.

"And then make sure you always remember important dates; like birthdays and anniversaries" She paced around the kitchen instructing

"Yes mum" he repeated in a monotone manner

"Micheal! This is important, forgetting is the main source of arguments" Karen reprimanded

"I know that" He replied

"Do you really? When is your anniversary?" Karen questioned. Mike panicked, knowing not giving an answer or stumbling would only enable a lecture on treating Will better, he racked his thoughts

"October 5th" blurting date he had written in the binder

"And what do you have planned?" She spoke

"Oh umm I don't know yet" he answered

"Michael! That is this weekend, how haven't you figured it out yet?" she scolded, placing a hand on her hip with her phone in the other. Mike scrunched his eyes, knowing that his mother will force him to go on a date with Will and then have people report back to her.

"I know! I know I'll figure it out" He sighed

"How did you even get a boyfriend?" She joked cleaning a spec of dirt off the kitchen shelf

WILL POV-

---- 8:56 AM ----

Will sat in art class; in the center, his easel in-front of him, this was the only lesson he had without any of his friends. He felt somewhat lonely but enjoyed the tranquillity that came from the quiet, he took out his phone scrolling through his Instagram.

"Hey Willy" a voice said from beside him. Will scrunched his eyes already knowing who this voice belonged to- Richie Tozier. Will had always had a massive crush on him, a crush that started on the first day of class when Richie appeared to be flirting with him. But one thing to know about Richie is that he always seemed to have sex on the brain, it honestly made Will question, how much the taller boy could think about Sex that early in the morning

"Did you miss me?" He cooed, placing a hand on the shoulder of the small boy, Will didn't know what to say as a bright glow appeared on his face, not daring to look him in the eyes

"I literally see you every day" Will joked quietly

"I like when you play hard to get" he flirted. Batting his eye-lashes

"Aww why do you ignore me?" He asked poking a finger into Wills cheek

"Get away from me Richie" Will jokingly rolled his eyes, flinching away,

"OH I'm so offended" Richie said placing a hand to his chest moving his face closer to the chestnut-haired boy, Will pushed him away not allowing them to get too close in fear of internally malfunctioning

"You should be" Will retained composure flirting back

"Okay Class" the professor stomped into the room holding a bright grin on her face that accompanied her black apron; covered with splotches of paints in a variety of different swatches and shades. He smiled back, knowing that art was his favourite lesson; followed by English of course. Richie jumped to his seat that sat mere feet away, Will looked at him, a soft smile covering his face, quickly looking away attempting to hide the fact that he was staring. He mentally cursed himself; slumping in his seat

A note got thrown in his direction, Richie looked at him; instructing him to open the note carefully Will did as told

Like what you see? I can show you more later if you want ;)

"I'd rather eat glass" Will mouthed back turning his attention toward the teacher but always keeping an eye on every little movement Richie made

——11:06 AM——

Richie wrapped an arm around Will walking through the corridors; ducking his head bashfully passing Mike who just stared at the two papers in hand, Will attempted to duck away from embarrassment, a red tint passed his face, entering the cafeteria hall being dragged to his group of friends interested in their own conversation

"Here we go" Richie said sitting Will down at the seat before stepping away from the group toward his own friends, he coyly smiled at Will who swooned.

"Ugh! Still don't like him" Max rolled her eyes sticking out her tongue, she had never approved of Will's crush on Richie, she hated everything about him down to the way he dressed

"C'mon, he isn't that bad" Will defended

"He dresses like a tourist" Max rolled her eyes

"It's expressive" Will protected his crush

"It's Dumb" She shrugged

"I'd rather have you date Mike" Max blurted jokingly

"MAX" Will looked around, waving his hands around to shush her

"Keep your voice down" He added looking over his shoulders

"Oh please! Mike is such a common name, no one even knows" She remarks taking a bite of her pasta

"But seriously how are things going with him? Did you meet his parents?" Dustin questioned resting both arms on the table inching closer to Will. Intrigued, he aimed to hear every detail of the night, it filled his amusement.

"Is that why you're in such a good mood? because it went well?" He added

"What? I couldn't care less; I get paid for dating him!" Will smiled pointing both thumbs toward himself

"What a gold digger" El jokingly sighed eyeing Will, he pushed her arm almost dropping her off her seat chuckling as the conversation changed, he listened intently allowing the words to pass him by. Dustin grimaced speaking about his cat.

---- 11:58 AM ----

"GUYS! We are going to be late" The brunette exclaimed waving her hands around glancing at her watch standing up to grab her bag from under her seat.

"Chill" the red head chuckled placing a hand over her, leading her out the exit of the canteen. They look at the two boys who quickly stand up

"Umm Max! Clean Up!" Dustin exclaimed, pointing at the plate Max had left on the table, she continued looking forward acting as if she could not hear him, the pair heard her chuckled taking El out the canteen

"C'mon Byers lets go" Dustin sighed picking up the plate placing it in the rack, directing Will to walk beside him, the pair walk side by side giggling as they told jokes, pushing and shoving to the exit to be faced with Max and El, they were interlocking arms seeing Max tap her leg up and down looking at them

"You guys are so slow" She whined dragging El with her until the group reached El's class, she looked both ways, seeing no one looking she tiptoed to Max's cheek planting a small kiss. Strutting in, she gave the group a small wave. Max stood still; flustered, burying her head in both hands

"Isn't she amazing?" Max swooned placing a hand to the spot El kissed her

"Come on Romeo" Will rolled his eyes grabbing Max pulling her to the class in risk of being late, they enter the class Dustin leading the trio. Mike already stood at his podium, the lecture had begun, sneaking to their seats the remain quiet not to disturb the people around them, they get into their self-assigned seat, opening his bag Will takes out all his resources seeing his book stumble out, Dustin caught with quick reflexes, Will smiled taking the book from him placing it on the table. He stared straight ahead at the lesson determined to keep his grades up.

---- 2:04 PM ----

"Oh my back hurts from carrying all the looks and brains of the family" Max stretched in her seat, while the two boys packed their bags not even replying to what she had just said, she got up doing the same, the students flooded the exit leaving the trio to just awkwardly stand waiting for the hoard to leave

"Hey Mr Byers? Have you thought of entering the competition?" Mr Wheeler blurted running over to the trio. He stood a few steps below them watching intently at the group.

"Oh, um yeah" Will awkwardly replied, not wanting to talk to Mike for longer than needed to in fear of being spotted as his alter ego, he scratched the back of his nape taking another step with his friends to the exit, exhaling a deep breath while his friends did not ask any questions. They walked to the parking lot together waiting for El. Will gathered all his friends there stood a black motorcycle, red streaks embedded that Will found in good taste. He chuckled looking at it, El had just gifted it to him this morning and he had already fallen in love with it

"Do you need a moment alone with the bike?" Max spat placing both hands on her hip grinning. El covered her laugh looking at her girlfriend, Will rolled his eyes ignoring her comment

"Dustin you're going to Starcourt too, do you want me to take you there?" Will suggested watching as his face glowed up being offered, he graciously nodded accepting the helmet from Will

"Umm what about us?" The redhead questioned raising both eyebrows

"I just assumed you both would go to Make-out creek in El's car" He joked placing the helmet on his head. El's eyes widened from hearing that, she looked at Will shocked turning her attention to Max who gave her a 'Hell Yeah' look

"Thats... we weren't going to-" El attempted to make an excuse but couldn't find one; she blushed dragging Max away to her car waving at the two boys who were now sitting on the bike. Dustin wrapped his arms around Will's waist maintaining a secure grip thrilled to be on a bike but terrified of falling

"Ready to go?" Will chuckled asking him, he only nodded as Will rode his way out the parking lot to Starcourt, remaining quiet focusing on the route while Dustin squeezed his eyes shut, holding tighter. The pair reached the parking lot and Will stopped the bike. He looked down at his waist to see Dustin still had his hands wrapped around

"Dustin we are here" He chuckled prompting him to let go of his waist

"That was fun" Dustin admitted wobbling himself off the bike struggling to walk straight

"Are you good?" Will furrowed his eyebrows

"Just peachy" Dustin held up a hand walking toward the sidewalk. Will ran up beside him and the pair walk in, going down the escalator passing the groups of adults that passed them, the Mall was quieter than usual on account of the children and teens being at school. Dustin walked to the florist waving as he left, Will continued slugging to Scoops Ahoy, walking behind the counter the backroom to change. He looked at his uniform, spinning round to correctly place his holster atop his waist. The chestnut-haired boy walked out greeting his managers who sat at the table eyes glued to the small tv that was suspended to the wall

"So, like, what movie are you guys watching?" Will ducked down to reach the pairs height, lifting his head to the screen,

"And who's that?" Will's eyes widen, watching a man appear on screen; his exact type

"Why? does someone like what he sees?" Robin joked tilting her head toward him

"Well, if Will is going to have a crush on anyone it's me" Steve proudly proclaimed running a hand through his hair, he slicked his hair back sending Will a smouldering squint. Robin exchanged a look to Will both silently judging the older boy. He then walked away to the front waiting for the barrage of people to enter but the day was silent watching people pass by, occasionally one would buy a simple ice-cream cone but other than that; he stood idle behind the counter hanging his head low

RING

RING

Will jumped up from shock hearing his phone ring, it vibrated in his pocket, he slipped it out under the counter seeing the name appearing on screen-

'MIKE'

"Shit" He grumbled under his breath attempting to switch it off but accidently answering it.

"Umm Hi" Mike spoke confidently from the other side, Will mentally cursed himself but brought the phone to his ear

"Why are you calling? Is there an emergency?" he quietly replied, scrunching his eyes

"I don't even get a 'Hello' or a 'How are you'?" Mike quickly joked

The chestnut haired boy sighed "Okay... Hi Mike, how are you?" Will smiled leaning on the counter laughing to himself

"I'm good! See it wasn't that difficult" The ravenette chuckled

"So why exactly did you call? I'm at work" Will whispered

"Oh umm... Listen" Mike reprimanded "I wanted to meet you today... for a date"

"A date?" Will eyes widened "Why?"

"I just wanted to" Mike said

"I don't think I'll be able to" The chestnut-haired boy panicked, that wasn't a complete lie, today Dustin was coming over for a sleepover but he couldn't tell Mike that.

"Is it important to meet?" Will questioned tapping his finger on the counter

"Oh umm! No, never mind" A sad tone lingers in Mike's voice "Goodbye" he said abruptly switching off the phone leaving a confused Will to look around staring at his phone unmoving. He jumped, hearing the screeching of the sliding window behind him open

"You seem to be finally losing your marbles" She chuckled, leaning both arms on the counter behind him

"Were you listening to my whole conversation?" Will exclaimed turning his entire body 180 degrees to face her; throwing his arms in the air

"It's the only interesting thing here" Robin said pointing toward Steve

"So, you're going on a date with Mike?" She questioned

"It's not a date" Will admitted fidgeting his fingers

"Do you like him?" Robin asked

"What no" Will attempted to defend himself

"Who does Will like?" Steve popped up from behind Robin; a grin plastered on his face, Will opened his mouth to give an answer

"MIKE" Robin blurted cutting off the younger boy

"I do not like Mike" Will resisted

"Eww Mike? The one we met the other day?" Steve scrunched his eyebrows, Robin simply nodded

"Does no-one hear me! I do not like him" Will shouted throwing his arms in the air putting emphasis on his words, if he was being completely honest it was true, he didn't like Mike nor did he wish too, he already felt bad for catfishing him but now he had the added stress of being in his English class. He didn't need any of this unnecessary drama

"Okay, okay! Calm down Byers, we won't talk about your boyfriend" Steve joked running a hand through his brunette hair. "But I still don't like him" He huffed one last sentence

"He's not my- Eh why do I even bother explaining to you two?" Will questioned himself interrupted by customers ringing the bell. He turned around seeing a young couple, the man was tall with dark hair whereas the girl had flowing blond hair and bright eyes wrapping an arm around the taller male, he scanned them seeing both wearing white jumpers with a light brown windbreaker . They looked like the stereotypical couple: the silent, tall brooding male and petite bubbly female. He looked at them feeling envious never even encountering them before; he was happy for them, but he wished for that

He wished for love

He craved for it
