"Thank you both for coming in early." Miss Jenn said as Ricky finally walked in,

"Start from page 97." She added as she handed us both a sheet of paper,

"The last scene? I only have one line." I started as Ricky nodded in agreement,

"Me too." Ricky agreed as Miss Jenn got excited,

"And then there's the kiss." She smiled as Ricky and I both looked at each other with wide eyes,

"Come on you two, I could tell there was chemistry between you two that's why we cast you two as the leads." Miss Jenn Moaned as Carlos nodded,

"With all due respect the only reason why could have great chemistry is the fact that we're best friends," Ricky stated as he looked over at me to nod,

Okay, that was a bit much on his behalf.

"And last time I checked it ended with a hug, not a kiss," I said as I thought back to the ending of the original film,

"The kiss was too raunchy for its time." Miss Jenn explained as Ricky and I still were not up for kissing each other.

Ricky and Aurora: this cannot be happening

"I can't believe she's making us do this," Ricky complained once we were far enough away from her,

"Look, Rick, I get that you're not happy about having to kiss me. But it's just one kiss and it's just for the musical so it's not like it is going to mean anything to either of us." I snapped trying not to show that his reaction was hurting me.

"Rora-" Ricky said as I zipped my bag up,

"I have a class to go to," I said as the bell rang, I turned my heel and bit the inner bit of my cheek in an attempt to feel better,

"What was that about?" Big red asked me referring to what just happened with Ricky as we walked to Math Class,

"I don't think I've ever had someone reject me that hard." I tried to joke as Big Red stopped us,

"Just tell him you like him," Big Red said in a duh tone as my eyes went big

"How-?" I asked as he tried not to laugh

"It's obvious, I see the way you look at him. And I definitely see the way he looks at you too." He explained as I tried to not smile

"Come on let's just head to class." I giggled as I realized what he had just said

So he may feel the same way

I walked into the bomb shelter to see no Miss Jenn and Carlos was in charge,

"Hey, Carlos where is Miss Jenn?" I asked as I put my bag down,

"She is busy hunting down a prop." He said as Ricky came to his other side.

"So why are we doing this again if the show is already over?" Ricky asked him as I walked over to Nini who was with Ashlyn and Kourtney,

"That boy is pushing my buttons," Nini said as she realized I was next to her,

"I don't think you've met Kourtney and Ashlyn," She added pointing over to both girls,

"Can I just say, I jealous of both of your styles," I stated with a smile as Kourtney looked over to me,

"Girl you are so gorgeous like don't even start." She stated as Ashlyn nodded in agreement,

"Places people," Carlos yelled as I mouthed a thank you to Kourtney as I walked over to my supposed starting place.

"And 5,6,7,8," Carlos said as the dance number started, everything was going smoothly until Ricky and I started, and boy they should have checked if he could dance once the music stopped I heard Nini groan as I pinched the bridge of my nose out of frustration

"I'm sorry," Ricky whispered to me as I walked over to my bag and grabbed my water

"What is he doing here?" Nini asked Carlos as Ricky scoffed

"You know I am right here, right?" As Ricky responded Big Red walked over to me as he could tell that my stomach was just doing flips

"Just not for the right reasons, you just joined this so we'd be in each other's grills. And what is that smell." She scrunched her nose in disgust as she could smell his cologne,

"Hey, you love throb." Ricky defended the cologne he was wearing as Carlos looked like he was about to explode

"All right that is it everyone take five!" Carlos yelled as almost everyone walked out of the room as I started quietly packing my bag

"Look if you really cared about me, you'd let someone else play the role," Nini said as Ricky scoffed once more

"Like EJ?" Ricky questioned her as I finished packing my bag and was about to leave rehearsal with it

"Woah, Woah, Woah, where are you going?" Carlos asked me as they all realized that I was about to walk out,

"I'm done not being valued as a character especially by the person who is meant to lead with me, so here Ricky you can finally get your wish," I stated as I walked out of the bomb shelter.

"Look what. you've just done!" Nini groaned at Ricky

As I walked out of the building I hopped onto my skateboard and just let it take me where it wanted to go.

I ended up at some park on the other side of town where North High was, I had been sitting on a bench for like fifteen minutes as a guy in a North High varsity jacket came and sat next to me

"Can I help you?" I asked as I turned to him

Boy was he cute

"I've never seen you on this side of town, you new?" He asked as I shook my head

"No, actually I am from the other side of town, I go to East High. I just needed to get away." I answered him as he chuckled

"Boy problems?" He asked as my eyes went wide

"Is it really that obvious," I groaned as he smirked

"So you want to talk about it?"
