you're the one that I needed in my life,
you're the one that I needed in my life.

Gerard went home the next morning but not before Frank's dad made him breakfast. While they ate Frank stared at his father with disbelief and a bit of suspicion, but Gerard didn't notice the glares he was too distracted by the attention he was being given.
Frank went straight up to his room after kissing Gerard goodbye without so much as looking in his fathers direction. Not only had he gone behind his back and told his boyfriend about the most traumatic event he had ever gone though, but now he wanted to flip personalities and be his boyfriends beat friend.
"Frank." His father sighed watching him stomp away.
Frank didn't listen, or even hear him partly due to the blood rushing through his head. Just the sound of his voice had his ears steaming.
"Frank, please we need to talk." He called.
"About what?" Frank growled back.
"Come down here now so we can talk."
With an exaggerated sighed and loud stomps he went down to his father. The only reason he listened was because he wanted the chance to argue with his father about what he had done.
"What?"
"Look," His dad sighed dragging a hand down his face. "I didn't want to do this when you're mad but this needs to needs said no matter how you're feeling."
Frank sat down across from his father with furrowed eyebrows. His heart rate picked up as he looked to se his dad's tired expression, which was completely different from when Gerard was at breakfast.
"First I want to say that I'm so proud of you for finding someone who makes you happy. It's almost impossible for most adults to do but you've done it at only eighteen." He said. He looked truly proud of his son for once happy, even under all that stress. "You're in love, kid, that's impressive."
"Yeah, I guess."
"Look, i'm going to be straight forward with this." He said. "We're moving."
Franks mouth hung open like he had stopped working. He couldn't do that. He was finally happy and he just has to rip that away.
"Why!" He said standing up.
"Frank, sit down and lets talk this out." Frank dad said waving his hand as a way of telling Frank to calm down.
"No, tell me why we have to leave!"" He yelled again.
All he could think of was Gerard hand his Friends, all the things he planed on doing. He couldn't take him away from Gerard. It would kill them both, like he has just said they were in love.
"I got a job offering from a place in Florida, I send in my application and I can start work next week." He said. Before Frank could say something else he continued. "Starting pay is almost three times as much as my job here in Jersey and we'll be able to afford a nice three story house and a new car for you." He said trying to sweeten the situation. "We can finally afford that dog you wanted."
"Dad, I asked for a dog when I was twelve. Now I just want my boyfriend. We aren't moving."
"I get that you're man but i'm still in charge here. We are moving and we start tomorrow." His father said firmly.
"No we are not!" Frank yelled. His voice cracked but he pretended that it didn't. "I'm not leaving him!"
"I get that you're in love but he can't dictate your life like this, Frank. He can visit."
"We're going to fucking Florida who wants to fly that far to see their highshool boyfriend? He's going to find someone else while I catch heat stoke!"
"Frank, you're overreacting. If Gerard really loves you he'd stay loyal no matter what distance you are apart."
"Yeah? Well i'm not fucking risking it."
"You have no choice. I am not turning down the chance to better our lives." His father said.
Frank stood thinking for a minute. He couldn't do this to his dad, could he? A chance to change their lives and he would be willing to ruin it just because pf his personal issues.
"Fine." Frank said.
His father let out a sigh of relief and ran his fingers through his hair. "Thank you."
"You can go, but i'm staying here." He said.
"What? No way, you're coming with me what kind of father would I be to leave you alone in another state?"
"I'm not alone-" Frank started
"Yeah I know, you've got Gerard." His dad interrupted. "Be realistic, Frank you cant depend on this sixteen year old all your damn life."
"Shut up!" He yelled put of frustration. "You don't know shit about us!"
"Frank."
"I'm not depending on him! We depend on each other. Constantly. If it weren't for him I would be dead!"
"Frank."
"No! Im eighteen I can take care of myself. Go ahead and fix your life. I'm fine right where I am!"
"Frank, please!" He pleaded. "I'm not letting you go. . . to be my kid. I love you so much and I can't lose you! Frank, you're all I have."
The last part was barely a whimper but Frank heard it loud and clear. It stung. His father was still hurting and he didn't even know it. Like a thousand knives thrown to the same spot, Frank felt like he was bleeding out from the inside.
"Dad." He said quietly. The room was silent aside from his fathers unsteady breathing.
"Frank i'm sorry I just-"
"It's alright, dad." He said.
Frank stood up from his seat and walked over to his dad. The man wasn't quite crying but Frank could sure get him there with a few more harsh words. Leaning his head on his dads shoulder he felt comforted by his warmth.
"I'm sorry I love him." Frank said.
"Never apologize for being happy." His dad told him with a small smile. "Please be safe."
"Of course." Frank assured him.
"I'll leave you with five thousand dollars." He stated.
"That's a whole fucking lot, dad." Frank gasped.
"Yeah so don't waste it."
"I won't. I'll be fine." Frank assured him.
"I love you, Frank." His father said before clearing his throat.
"Love you too dad."
After they hugged Frank went right to his room and shut the door. Fuck. Everything was about to change. His whole life was effected by the few words he said, more like screamed a couple moments ago. He was eighteen, an adult in the eyes of the law, so why did he feel so young and confused knowing that he would be alone within the next few days? This felt like a bad decision but he knew that if he left for Florida it would destroy he and Gerard's relationship. This had to be the right thing to do, it saved both teens from heart break. A house and kids, a dog and a cat, Frank could give that to Gerard now. They couldn't be separated no matter how hard the world worked against them.

The phone rang over and over again. The sound was beginning to irritate Frank. It was four A.M. so he didn't even expect Gerard to pick up but between now and one minute ago he had become desperate.
"Hello?" Gerard said softly. Tiredness didn't even seem to affect his voice like it did most boys he was just more quiet on top of being naturally soft spoken.
Frank almost moaned at the one word.
"Hey, baby."
"Frankie? It's. . . real late erm, early." Gerard said, concerned that Frank didn't even sound sleepy.
"I know, I know." Frank said trying to force back a smile and failing. "I just- I just needed to hear you voice, bambino."
"Oh, well hi daddy." He said happily.
"Hi, my love" Frank chuckled.
"Are you okay, daddy?" He asked
"I'm amazing, love." He was going insane from stress.
"Oh otay," Gerard yawned. "I love you, daddy."
He was clueless.
"I love you more." Frank teased.
"Doubt it." Gerard said with another drawn out yawn.
"Go back to sleep, baby." Frank said.
"Okay. Night night, daddy" Gerard said, his voice already dying out.
"Sleep well, love."
