𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 like every other in the little town, called Woodsboro. The sun was shining and the weather was perfect for the upcoming summer. A couple of birds where chirping in the tree and the wind was rushing through the leaves.

It was peacefully quiet inside the house, when Lizzie stood in her bathroom, which she shared with her brother, brushing her teeth while she tried desperately to keep her eyes open. The girl hadn't slept much last night, so she was feeling slightly exhausted.

Her hair was standing in every direction before she quickly grabbed her brush from the sink. She was running late and her make-up wasn't even done, but she was indeed already dressed.

Thinking about the upcoming school day, she quickly packed her school books into her backpack and threw it over her shoulder.

The girl then made her way downstairs into the kitchen, where Wes was already sitting by the table, having breakfast.

In the corner of her eye she saw her mother, already dressed in her Sheriff uniform.

"Morning!" Wes handed her the cereal box and Lizzie took it from his hand while he mumbled a sleepy, "Morning."

Her mother walked past her, quickly planting a kiss onto the top of her head, "Morning, sweetheart."

The blond sat down on a chair besides her brother and their mother sat down on their opposite, a worried expression on her face.

"Mom, is everything okay?", Lizzie questioned Judie Hicks with a concerned look on her face.

Their mother seemed to consider her choice of words carefully before she finally spoke, "There was a report of an attack that morning- someone in a Ghostface costume committed an attempted murder-"

The two siblings exchanged a shocked look before their mother continued, "-on Tara."

The two teenagers gave her a very confused look, not getting why someone would attack Tara, "What Tara?"

Their mother shifted in her seat, while she nodded in confirmation, "Yes, she was attacked last night."

Lizzie's breath immediately hitched in her throat, "Oh God."

Judie Hicks folded her hands and leaned onto the counter, "She's okay- and the hospital said that she was already stable and ready to be questioned this afternoon."

The two siblings exchange a scared glance before their mother caught their attention once more, "I'm only telling you this, because I want you to be careful- Arm up, okay?- Taser- Pepper spray- please always stay in groups."

The two nodded at her before Lizzie gave her a questioning look, "Can we visit her?"

"When she's awake, of course", her mother answered while she nodded shortly. Her gaze then fell onto wristwatch and she seemed surprised, "Oh, look at the time. We have to hurry now. Or else you're gonna be late for school!"

The two teenagers quickly grabbed their bags from the counter and Lizzie quickly downed the milk she had just poured into her bowl.

It was only a ten minute drive to school, so they reached their classroom just in time.

Of course the news of the attack had already spread it's way through the whole school. Not many knew the Ghostface details, but that wasn't necessarily needed for the school to cancel every single activity due to safety concerns.

Apart from that, the day was as normal as every other school day and after the last bell had finally rung, Lizzie, Wes, Amber and Mindy sat down infront of the parking lot, by the benches.

"Attention Panthers A reminder that all classes and school activities are cancelled tomorrow due to the public safety concerns." The voice of their principal came through the loudspeakers.

Wes had stood up a couple of minutes before and took a call. The three girls remained sitting on the benches' and tables' while they continued to talk shit about their teachers.

Wes then ended his call and joined the group, sitting down right next to Amber, "That was Sam."

Amber gave him a dark look while she raised her eyebrows, "She's coming?"

Wes nodded his head at her in confirmation, "Yeah." The dark haired girl sighed deeply, making her opinion known, "Watch everything get worse."

The boy gave her an annoyed glance while Lizzie leaned back against the wooden table behind her.

"Listen, all I'm saying is, with everything going on right now, I think it's time we take our relationship to the next, most intimate level", Chad's voice suddenly reached the group before he and his girlfriend Liv, who no one of the group was really close to sat down besides them.

"He wants me to accept his find my Fam request", Liv informed the others smiling before she gave Chad a wide eyed and annoyed glare.

Chad pointed with his finger at her, "It's the smartest option with a would-be killer on the loose. You know exactly where I am and I know exactly where you are."

"Aww- you can stalk me like a jealous boyfriend", Liv pouted at him, puckering her lower lip up.

"And you can stalk me like a jealous boyfriend", Chad immediately countered.

Suddenly Amber stuck out her tongue and pretend like she was going to vomit, "Is this because you two aren't having sex yet?" She smirked at them.

"You actually bring up a very good point. Not that I want to sound like the stereotypical jock, trying to get into his girlfriend's pants but-" Chad pointed out, but before he could finish, Liv interrupted him and placed an arm around his shoulders, "Great!"

"Don't do it, Liv. There's a psycho out there. You make yourself harder to find. Delete social media, tape your phone camera, disable GPS", We immediately advised the pink haired girl.

"Uh, yes-thank you very much, Edward Snowden", Chad hissed at the boy on his opposite and Lizzie immediately shot the jock a dark glare. "Shut up, Chad."

"Actually your mother just interrogated me about Tara's attempted murder, which was very fun", the dark skinned boy stated while he pointed at Wes and Lizzie's mother, who saluted her children with a smile from afar.

Wes avoided eye contact with Chad, "I'm sure she's asking everybody, I mean, Ghostface is back."

"The press still isn't saying Ghostface", Mindy immediately stated, but Lizzie shrugged at her. "Our mum just doesn't want to cause a panic."

Mindy seemed to think about something, "It'll get out by the second or third killing-"

Amber interrupted her, her voice louder, "Jesus, Mindy! There wasn't a first killing, Tara's alive!"

Mindy titled her head to the side, "That means she could still die." Amber frowned at the sound of her words, "What the fuck?"

"-Or the killer could come back for her", the dark skinned girl went on with her trail of thoughts.

"Fuck! Mindy, come on!", Chad shouted at his twin before Wes address the group once more. "I'm just telling you, arm up, okay? Pepper spray, check, Tase, check-"

Amber interrupted him, joking, "Girlfriend repellent, check-"

The group chuckled, except for Wes and Lizzie, who both new that the situation was quiet serious.

Wes gave Amber a quick glance, "Nice, thank you." Suddenly Liv's amused face expression fell, "Shit, is that- Vince?"

Everyone turned into the direction Liv was looking. "Wait- The creep you hooked up with last summer?" Lizzie narrowed her eyes at the blond man, who spit at the floor. A shudder went down her spin at how disgusting he was.

Liv shrugged, her face showing the awful tension she was feeling, "Yeah, he worked with me and Tara."

Amber turned towards her, "He worked with Tara?" Liv just ignored the girls question before she went on, "He's been stalking my Instagram the last couple weeks, posting the creepiest shit."

Mindy grabbed her phone and took a quick photo of Vince, who was leaning against his car, waving at Liv.

"Probably time to introduce him to Hobbs and Shaw", Chad stated while he tensed his muscles and straightened up.

Liv grabbed onto his biceps, "Maybe not the best idea to incite violence right infront of the sheriff."

Lizzie turned around to them and chuckled while she raised her eyebrows at him, "My mum would arrest you so quick."

Liv seemed suddenly more relieved, "Looks like he's leaving." She grabbed Chad's muscles, "Thanks anyways, boys." The boy next to her had a pretty painful smile on his lips while he traced over his bruised biceps.

Amber had watched that interaction interested, "Mhm- Tara says she fought back hard. You've got bruises."

Chad immediately frowned at her taken back, "From football practice!"

The dark haired girl nodded her head at him, a sarcastic expression on her face, "Oh, sure."

Suddenly Wes phone chimed and he glanced at it, "Tara's awake. She just texted."

They all looked at the boy while he quickly got onto his feet, "I'm going to the hospital. You guys coming?"

They all quickly stood up as well and agreed, before Liv spoke, "Oh, uh- I can't, but I'll meet you guys later."

Lizzie noticed how Wes gave Liv a suspicious glance while she swung her back pack over her shoulder, "All right."

Chad gave Liv a quick kiss before he joined the group and they all made their way over to the Woodsboro hospital.

𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐘 weird atmosphere in the room, while everyone sat in chairs around Tara's hospital bed, not exchanging a single word with each other.

The only one who was standing right beside the injured brunette was Amber, until Lizzie decided to stand up and sit down next to her best friend.

The blond took the brunette's hand in her's and gave it a squeeze. "I'm so glad nothing happened to you, T."

Tara gave her a small smile, but after a moment the tears whelmed up in her eyes once more, "I was so scared."

The blond stroked with her fingers over the back of her hand, "Yeah, totally understandable. But you're save now."

Tara continued to try and hold her tears back, "I don't get it- why me?"

Elizabeth searched for the right words, but before she could answer her, the door opened and everyone immediately got onto their feet before they realized that it was no other than Samantha Carpenter, who had just entered the room.

Lizzie let go of Tara's hand in the process of standing up before she made her way over to the other teenagers and watched Sam curiously.

But Sam had only eyes for Tara, she immediately rushed towards her bed and went down on her knees besides her. She then carefully touched Tara's arm. "How are you feeling?"

The brunette had the tears still in her eyes, "You came." Sam gave her a loving look, "Of course I came."

She then turned a bit sideways and pointed at the young man that had entered the room with her, "This is my boyfriend, Richie."

"It's so nice to meet you, I'm so sorry if I'm intruding", the man immediately introduced to her, while he took a step closer.

Tara gave him a small smile and a halfhearted wave, "Nice to meet you, too."

Meanwhile Sam had gone on and hugged Chad, Mindy and Wes. When it was Lizzie's turn the two smiled at each other and also hugged. "Hi."

The brunette then went on and hugged Wes, "Hi, thank you for calling me." Wes nodded while they both leaned back, "Of course."

"Look at your hair! I like it", she smiled while she examined him a bit. The boy chuckle in response.

Sam came to a stand beside Richie, and pointed at the twins and then at the other two, "These are Chad and Mindy, the twins, and Wes and Lizzie, they are siblings. I used to babysit them all."

Wes smiled friendly while he frowned, "Which is always how I like to be introduced.

Suddenly Amber let out a sarcastic chuckle, making everyone look at her. Sam gave her a small smile, "And Amber- hey."

The dark haired girl also smiled at her, but Lizzie knew that it was hundred percent fake. "Hey. Nice to see you."

Suddenly Sam's boyfriend interrupted their awkward exchange, "Hi, I'm Richie."

Amber didn't seemed really interested in getting to know him, "Hi."

Sam frowned, "Where's mom?" Tara was quick to answer that question, "She's stuck at a conference in London. She called me earlier."

Amber obviously couldn't bite back the sarcastic comment, a frustrated expression playing on her face, "Yeah, for all of ten minutes."

She then spun around to the group, "Look, guys- Tara's really tired. Maybe we should just give her some space."

The other's immediately agreed and packed their stuff. "Not you Sam. I want you to stay", Tara spoke, when everyone went to leave the room.

Chad and Mindy exchange a look before the other's behind them sushed them out of the room with one last Goodbye to their wounded friend.

As soon as they had stepped out of the door Mindy frowned at the other's, "That was a bit awkward."

"I mean they haven't seen each other for a long time", Lizzie stated while they made their way down the hospital hallway. "Of course it's a little awkward."

"That boyfriend guy was weird", Chad then stated while he held the door open for them to walk through. "Yeah, he is", Lizzie stated while she watched how Wes seemed to be deep in his own thoughts.

"Earth to Wes", the blond called out, which made him flinch in surprise. "Yeah- sorry. I was just-", he began mumbling but didn't finish his scentence.

After a moment of silence Chad spoke up, "Hey, usual hangout spot, this evening, all right?"

He glanced down at his phone, typing while the other's exchanged a look and agreed.

It was only a couple hours later, when the teens were standing around a pool table, their drinks in their hands while playing.

"So what is she like- the sister ?", Liv suddenly questioned while she leaned against the pool table.

"Sam? She is so cool", Chad told her excited, but Mindy quickly cut him off. "You only say that because she let you wear pokemon onesies to be for a year."

Chad immediately agreed with her, smiling, "That's true! That's a true statement!"

Everyone chuckled before Amber spoke up, "No, trust me, Sam is not cool. Her dad left her mom. Walks right out when Tara's eight, Sam's thirteen. Sam started acting out, getting in trouble with the cops and then, on Sam's eighteenth birthday she leaves. Ghosts them all. Maybe Sam's changed, I just don't want to see Tara hurt again."

Wes frowned deeply at her, "So what, you're protecting Tara from her own sister now?"

Amber shot him a glare, a smile playing on her lips, "Well, someone has to."

Wes smiled at the girl, a bit passive-aggressive, "Okay, so no guys are good enough for her and now her family's off-limits, too?"

"Mhm, motive!", Mindy suddenly engaged into the conversation, while sipping on her drink. Everyone turned to look at her, "If I can't have her, no one can."

Wes seemed pretty confused by her statement, "What?"

Mindy rolled her eyes while she smiled, "We all know you have a crush on Tara." Wes rolled with his eyes as well, avoiding to give her a reaction, "Okay, come on, Mindy!"

The dark skinned girl finished her statement, "- but we're all suspects."

Everyone exchange glances with each other before Mindy eyed Liv, "Except maybe Liv."

The pink haired girl smiled at her thankful, "Thank you."

Mindy gave her a side eye before she continued, "You're too boring to be a psycho."

Liv gave her a death glare before someone suddenly called out her name, "Yo, Live. You want a real drink?"

Everyone from the group turned their attention to no other than Vince, who stood by the other side of the pool table.

The man smirked, "- Or are you happy sitting at the kids' table?"

Chad suddenly snapped and approached him, "Listen up, Micheal Myers, it was a summer fling. All right, it meant nothing."

The man gave the teenager an annoyed look, "Sorry, was I talking to you."

Chad shrugged while he straightened up in front of him, "I don't care who you're talking to."

Vince glanced past Chad at the clearly uncomfortable girl, "Liv, let's go."

Chad didn't gave in and still shouted at the man, "Don't you fucking talk to her! I don't want to hear your goddamn voice!"

"Shut your mouth- Better shut the fuck up", Vince suddenly pulled out a pocket knife and pointed his finger at Chad.

Suddenly a lady from the bar shouted, "Hey! Get out of here, or I'm calling the cops!"

Vince took a quick step towards Chad, who immediately stepped back, but he he still looked the man into his eyes and motioned for him to leave. "Go!"

"I'll see you soon."

Chad scoffed, "Yeah, man. Fuck you!"
Vince turned and gave Chad one last look before he leaf the bar.

The lady then addressed the group, "You kids, too! Let's go!"

They all put down their drinks and Lizzie let out an annoyed sighed before she downed her cola and hurried after the other's.
