𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐋𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘 dark outside and only the blue color of the police sirens was flashing through the glass windows of the building.
Lizzie was sitting in-between Mindy and Tara, her arms wrapped around herself, while she gazed into the distance, her mind still with Gale, who had already been brought to the hospital a long time ago.
Suddenly the doors of the lobby opened and no other than their neighboor jogged inside, catching everyone's attention.
Danny seemed like he had just ran a marathon, when he came to a stand in front of the group, "Hey— hey! I got here as fast as I could."
The man now stood besides Sam, who seemed to distrust him now, according to her look, while Lizzie raised an eyebrow at him sceptical, "Did you?"
The blond was now feeling rage, pure rage. This Ghostface shit was robbing her of all the people in her life that meant something to her and she was now firmly set on getting revenge.
The man seemed confused by her question and remained silent before Mindy spoke up, "I'm scared you, guys. I really don't wanna get hurt again."
"Neither do I." Chad stated quietly, before Mindy gave him a long glance. "I don't want you getting hurt either, again."
The boys placed his head on her shoulder, sighting "I know. I know."
Lizzie also placed her head on Mindy's shoulder, while Tara did the same with her. Chad raised his eyebrows at them, "So what do we do now?"
"Maybe he gets to win this time— he wants to punish me." Sam suddenly stated, catching everyone's attention while she stood up. "Me— so maybe I let him", Sam continued, her face now showing the emotional pain she was in while her voice was trembling.
The woman started crying when she shook her head, "I'll just give myself up. If this is what I have to do— to keep you safe— it's worth it."
The group of teenagers stared up at her, disbelieving looks plastered on their faces. "Jesus, Sam. We're not doing this!", Lizzie immediately exclaimed while she straightened up and frowned deeply.
Tara jumped onto her feet, looking up into her sisters eyes, "You went back to Woodsboro to protect me. Every single day, you make the decision to protect me— None of us would even be alive if it weren't for you. You have to let us protect you this time."
Sam shook her head quickly, "No."
"Yes", Tara nodded at her. She raised her eyebrows, "We're a team, remember?" Suddenly Mindy stood up, tears whelming up in her eyes, "Actually— we're family."
Chad jumped onto his feet as well, "Let's go— Core five! Come on!" He held his hand into the middle of their circle while Lizzie also got onto her feet, and after a moment everyone joined in, smiling slightly. "Core five!"
"Core what?", Danny questioned them curiously, making Chad give him a disapproving look. "It's an us thing."
"He's gonna keep coming after us", Sam stated, her voice sounding tired. "Isn't there somewhere safe we could just hole up in?", Ethan questioned them, a curious look on his face.
Tara shook her head, "No, he's gonna keep finding us." Ethan sighed defeated, "Great."
"But— we can use that against him", Tara suddenly stated before she pulled her phone out and started typing.
The black haired girl pressed a button and after a moment Detective Bailey answered from the other side of the line. Tara quickly explained her plan to him, but at first the man didn't seem that convinced.
"I'm getting my ass chewed out for not dropping the case and now you want mw to do what?", Bailey questioned her, his voice sounding disbelieving.
"We want to lure him to a secure location and trap him inside", Tara explained to the man. "And then what?"
"We execute him", Tara stated simply while everyone exchanged a confident look. "Are you gonna help us?"
There was a moment of silence before the Detective answered, "Let's kill this son of a bitch! Now, I'm stuck here, but Gale gave us the keaycards to the theater. It's got heavy surveillance and security cameras, but we can use that against him. I tell Kirby to meet you there. I'll join you as soon as I can."
Tara nodded her head in confirmation, "Got it." The man then spoke one last time, "And remember, travel in public. The more people around you, the less chance he has to take a shot at you before you get there."
The group didn't waste any time after that and made their way over to the underground train station right away.
Walking down the dirty stairs into the underground station, Lizzie noticed that the group had this uncomfortable silence laying over them. This showed her clearly, how tense everyone else was feeling at the moment.
"Is this even a good plan?", Ethan suddenly questioned the other's, breaking the silence first.
"You don't have to come if you don't want to", Tara stated while the other's gave him an understanding look.
"So we just peel off and the killer picks up us off one by one? No, thank you", the boy answered her sarcastically.
"Let's just get the theater. Come on, in here", Sam stated while she nodded towards the train.
"Yes, because it'll be much less scary at a serial killer movie theater", Chad commented sarcastically while he followed after Lizzie into the train.
"Wait, where's Mindy?", Chad then questioned before he started looking around in hectic. After a moment the boy spotted his sister, but when he wanted to wait for her, the people pushed him inside the train.
Chad squeezed himself in-between the closing doors, calling out for his sister when he was nearly being squashed by them. Mindy was approaching the train as quickly as she could and she had nearly reached the it, when Danny suddenly yanked Chad back.
Chad screamed for his sister, but the doors already closed in front of him, making Mindy hit her hands against the door before the train went on and left her behind.
Lizzie's eyes were widely opened, while she exchanged a wide eyed look with Chad, "Fuck."
"Where's Mindy?", Sam questioned the boy immediately, her face showing her panic. "I was gonna wait for her, but Cute boy here dragged me on", Chad stated while he shot Danny a death glare.
Danny gave him an irretated glance, "I was trying to keep us together."
"By pulling us apart?", Tara attacked him right away, her eyes showing her suspicioun. The man sighed in defeat while he gave the teenage girl an exhausted look.
"It's okay. It's okay. It's fine— she's with Ethan. She'll meet us there", Chad then told them, trying to calm himself down, which didn't seem to be successful.
The boy put his phone away, before he glanced up and his face expression fell, "Oh, shit."
A male voice spoke through the speaker and the lights flickered, "The next stop is 79th street."
Lizzie and the other's followed Chad's gaze and realized that there were various people in Ghostface costumes standing not that far away from them.
"Shit— it's Halloween", Lizzie spoke more to herself than to the rest of the group while she sighed heavily.
"How many stops do we have?", Tara questioned the other's and Sam crooked her neck to the side to see the map. Her face expression seemed worried when she looked back at them, "Ten."
Lizzie's gaze snapped back towards the people in the Ghostface costumes, her pulse immediately starting to race, "Fucking fantastic."
The blond grabbed onto the metal pole besides her and Chad, while she nervously tapped her her foot onto the floor.
The lights continued flickering leaving them in the dark for a few moments and the girl gluped silently when Chad suddenly spoke, "Still nothing from Mindy."
The blond exchanged a worried look with the boy besides her, while she let her arm slowly brush against his.
"This is 72nd Street", the male came through the speaker once more and shortly after, the train came to a stop. The doors pushed open and the people started entering and exiting.
Lizzie shifted nervously from one foot onto the other before Sam caught their attention, "Guys—" The dark haired woman nodded at something and they all followed her gaze.
The whole group tensed up when they saw someone in a Ghostface costume approach them. Lizzie felt her heartbeat get faster before she instinctively grabbed Chad's hand and gave it a squeeze.
The boy squeeze her hand back, but before the stranger in the Ghostface costume had reached them, Danny took a step forward and built himself up in front of the group.
The person in the Ghostface costume immediately changed his directon and stepped out of the train, the doors closing behind him.
Lizzie sighed in relief before she closed her eyes and exhaled deeply. "The next stop is 66th Street. Lincoln Center."
In that moment the blond realized that she still held onto Chad's hand. Exchanging a quick glance with the boy, she then slowly let go of his hand.
As soon as the train stopped, the group exit the train station, realizing that they were already right in front of of the theater.
Kirby was waiting for them by the exit, immediately catching their attention, "Hey! I talked to Bailey. I've got everything set up."
The blond then eyed the group in confusion and frowned, "Where are Mindy and Ethan?"
"They're five minutes behind us", Tara informed her before Kirby nodded. "Okay, let's get you all insdie."
Sam then suddenly spun around to Danny, who had been waking behind her, "Not you."
He frowned at her, "What?" The two gaze into each other's eyes, "Don't trust anyone, remember? We don't know you— not really."
"No, no, no— you know me", Danny stated calmly, almost seeming like he was pleading for her to take him with them.
"You're not Woodsboro—", Sam answered him. Danny seemed like he was at a loss of words, but Sam just gave him an apologizing look, "I'm sorry."
The man suddenly nodded at her, "It's okay— it's okay, I get it." He took a small step towards her, taking her hands in his own, "Be safe, okay?" Sam nodded while he gave her a kiss on the cheek, "Okay?"
"You, too", Sam told him before she spun around and lead the other's away from him. Kirby quickly fell into step with her, giving her a supportive nodd, "Good call."
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃 the theater, Kibry opened the metal door for them with the keycard. She then motioned for them to step inside. "I cleared the whole place before you got here."
The blond let the door fall into it's lock behind them as soon as group had entered. "So, this is the only way in or out. He steps in through the first door, both doors lock automatically, trapping him inside. We turn it into a kill box."
Sam's eyebrows were raised at the FBI Agent, "Weapons?"
"One gun, and I hold onto it", Kirby stated confidently. Sam immediately wanted to argue with her, but Kirby interrupted her, "I am the only one with a badge here and that's the way it's gonna be."
The other's shifted all uncomfortably before Kirby gave them a look, "We're safe here."
Lizzie let out a small scoff before she gave the FBI agent a sceptical glance, "I believe it when I see it."
Sam gave her an agreeing look before she sighed and pulled out her phone, "I'm gonna check in with Mindy. See if they're close."
She took off her jacked and threw it at one of the chairs that were standing around, as well as Tara and Lizzie.
Kirby disappeared and Tara followed after her sister. Chad and Lizzie on the other hand made their way through the abandoned theater. Lizzie noticed that Chad still seemed to be very uneasy about the fact that his twin was not with him right now.
The boy leaned against the dusty counter of the snack bar, when Lizzie decided to try and take his mind off of his worries.
The girl gave him a funny face expression while she dragged her finger over the counter awkwardly, "This is so old, when was the last time anybody used this place anyway?"
Chad gave her a quiet chuckle before he slowly turned around and grabbed the last package of sweets that was laying behind the counter.
"Ohh, those were my favourites when I was little", Lizzie exclaimed excited while she eyed the colourfull package in his hand.
Chad immediately smiled at her, holding the sweets out for the girl to take, "You can have them."
"You don't want them?", Lizzie had a sceptical look on her face, her eyebrows raised while her eyes were slightly narrowed.
Chad shook his head at her immediately, "No."
"Yeah, duh, probably because they're like who knows how old", the blond exclaimed while she placed them onto the counter and laughed.
Chad had a smirk on his face, "Yeah, kind off." The blond gave him a shocked face expression before the two chucked once more.
Lizzie bit onto her lower lip, thinking about what she would say next, before she glanced up at the boy throuh her lashes, "You know, Chad, I actually —"
To her surprise Chad suddenly leaned forward, placing his right hand onto her shoulder, while his left hand went down to her waist.
The boy immediately pulled her further towards him, his lips connecting softly with her own. His hand then moved slowly upwards to her neck, stroking with his thumb along her jawline, while Lizzie kissed him back eagerly.
The boy had to lean down slightly, so he was hovering over her while she placed one hand against his jaw and the other one onto his upper arm. Her eyes were closed while she felt how Chad continued kissing her again and again.
The two didn't break the kiss for another couple of moments, just enjoying the soft touch of each other, while Lizzie had this bubbly, fuzzy, warm feeling in her stomach.
After another second the the broke the kiss, looking up into each other's eyes, while still holding each other close, their faces only inches apart. "It's maybe embarrassing how long I've wanted to do that."
Lizzie let her finger moved over her bottom lip while she still gazed up at Chad, "Yeah, but same here—." The two smile widely at each other before Lizzie suddenly gave him a pointed look, "— but you should've done that a lot sooner."
The boy gave her a small, knowing smirk, "I know." The blond had her hands placed on his chest while she smirked as well, "But it's okay— because you're gonna make it up to me with a lot more kisses like this one."
The two gazed into each other's eyes before Lizzie got onto her tiptoes and connected their lips once more.
The blond was so preoccupied with Chad at that moment, that she didn't even hear the footsteps approaching her from behind. She only felt the pain that followed.
The blond suddly felt a really terrible pain in her left shoulder, while she immediately stumbled forward, grabbing onto Chad. Her breath hitched in her throat because of the pain, but she still managed to let out a heart wrenching scream.
Her grip tightened on Chad and she felt like she was about to vomit, before she suddenly felt the knife being pulled out of her shoulder.
The blond then let go of Chad, just wanting to escape this terrible pain. She slowly fell to the ground, still crying out loudly. Chad's eyes were wide while he let go of the girl, "Liz!"
The blond hit the ground, her right hand holding her shoulder while her eyes fell onto Ghostface, who was now swinging his knife at Chad.
The blond breathed rapidly while she saw how Chad avoided the attacks and threw Ghostface into one of the paintings that hung at the wall.
The glass of the painting shatterd and Ghostface stummbled backwards, before he swung at Chad once more.
The boy quickly took a step back, before he swung his fist and punched the killer into his face, sending him towards the ground.
Ghostface then wanted to stand up, but Chad didn't even give him a chance, when he kicked him into the stomach. The boy then quickly grabbed Liz, who had gotten onto her feet and pushed her out of the room. "Liz, let's go! Let's go! Come on!"
They opened the door and flinched back in surprise, screaming loudly when they came face to face with Sam and Tara, who mirrored their actions.
Lizzie was still moaning in pain when Sam grabbed her arm and yanked her into the hallway, "Come on! Go, go, go, go, go!"
The door fell shut behind them and Sam quickly looked around, "It's Kirby! She's the killer!"
"No shit!", Chad screamed while he made a run for the door they had come through. "That's locked. Come on!" Chad quickly followed after them, his gaze worried, "Are we trapped?"
"She made this whole theater a kill box— for us", Sam stated, her voice shaking before Tara suddenly pointed at something a level above them. "Hey what about that? There's an exit door! Maybe it leads to the roof or something?"
"There's only one way to find out— let's go!", Chad stated and they all wanted to make their way towards the staircase, when suddenly Ghostface jumped down from the stage.
He landed right in front of them and swung at Tara, who immediately let herself fall to the ground to avoid the knife. Ghostface then went for Sam, who fell backwards onto the ground, loosing her knife in the process.
Next Ghostface swung at Lizzie, who immediately stummbled backwards until Ghostface decided that Chad was more fun to swing at.
He swung at the boy once more, beheading a mannequin in the process. Chad's eyes immediately widened in shock, screaming, "Beheadings!"
The jock then quickly tackled the killer to the ground and Sam quickly grabbed Tara and Liz before she pushed them upstairs onto the stage.
Meanwhile Chad grabbed the camera that stood by the glass showcases for the first Woodsboro murders and hit it into Ghostface face, "Smile for the camera, Motherfucker!"
The group then quickly made their way through the curtains, before spotting a door on the right side of the stage, "This way! Come on!"
They stromed through the doora and Lizzie collided with her left shoulder against the wall that was on her opposite. The pain rushed through her whole back and arm, when she let out a scream. "Fuck!"
The blond was slower than Tara and Sam, but still following after them, her heart beating heavily in her chest.
Chad was right behind her when he spun around and threw the camera at Ghostface, "Get fucked!"
The killer got hit by the camera, which gave them a bit of a head start, but Ghostface was still right behind them.
They had finally reached the lobby, where only a second ago, Lizzie had been stabbed.
Chad immediately smashed the popcorn machine onto the floor. Ghostface stummbled over it, before he started to lung at Chad with the knife. Chad jumped backwards and collided with the wall, when Ghostface tried to stab him into the shoulder.
The boy struggled against the killer, when Sam, Tara ans Liz all grabbed onto Ghostface arms and tired to pull him away from the boy.
The three and Ghostface stumbled backwards, hitting the counter with their backs, before Chad jumped at them and punched the killer into his face.
Ghostface then fell to the ground and Tara screamed out in rage before she ran up to him and kicked him into his face.
The girls' exchanged a look, already heading for the door when Chad grabbed another item from the bar and was about to smash it on Ghostface's head, "Go! Go!"
The three spun around, but they stopped in their track, when they heard Chad grunting in pain.
The blond girl immediately started screaming when she saw that there werenot one but two Ghostface killers and they were both circling Chad.
Lizzie wanted to run to him, but Sam reacted quickly and held her back.
The girl screamed while she was forced to see how the boy she loved got stabbed into his abdomen, until the blood started spilling out of his mouth.
His eyes were showing his fear and the girl cried heavily, the mascara and tears running down her face while she tried to desperately wiggle out of Sam's grip. "Chad!"
The boy couldn't talk much due to the blood spilling out of his mouth, but Liz still managed to hear him say, "Run! Go!"
Lizzie sobbed loudly and Sam was now already pushing her towards the door.
After a moment, Chad fell backwards onto the floor when the two Ghostface killers suddenly turned their attention back to the three, whipping their knives clean in sync.
