chapter eleven
━━ PIZZA STUDIES
IT WAS JUST ANOTHER FIFTEEN MINUTES BEFORE ETHAN HIS EYES SLOWLY STARTED TO FLICKER open, his mind quickly coming to a realisation that he was still at the LaRusso family's house. He quickly shot up, lifting his head from the shoulder it had been sleeping on for a while now. Ethan quickly locked eyes with the youngest LaRusso sibling his cheeks visibly turning red. "Oh- Anthony! I'm so sorry- I really didn't mean to." The boy quickly apologised.
Anthony was stunned for a second, he had been staring at Ethan for such an incredibly long time it was palpable to any spirits that may have lingered in his room. Anthony really hoped there weren't any, when he was younger Sam was purposely say stuff like that to scare him.
Anthony felt himself unable to gather any words to respond for a few seconds. He had been staring at this boy for so long he almost forgot that Ethan wasn't a Greek sculpture gifted by the gods. He thought an upper deity must have created him because he didn't think anyone human could look his angelic and intriguing at the same time. At first he was confused as to why Ethan was apologising for something he definitely did not mind before he realised that this was weird, and gay. Anthony wasn't gay.
"Oh- no, nah don't sweat it. It was pretty funny." Anthony waved off throwing him a strained smile as he tried to cover up the redness covering his cheeks. Anthony was lying right to Ethan his face, he didn't find the situation particularly funny, he enjoyed it. It was as if his eyes naturally graduated towards the beauty of Ethan Blake.
He was just really pretty.
Ethan awkwardly smiled, mentally cursing himself for not knowing or being able to make a normal conversation about this. He swore he never saw people be this hopeless in socialising, at least not as hopeless as he was.
"Well.. umh," There was a small pause indicating the thought process of Ethan. "I think we can leave the rest for next time, I'm pretty sure if I try to make my brain think more it'll explode." The boy awkwardly joked, forcing out a smile which Anthony found way too adorable to be hetero.
Anthony grinned, "Yeah, that'd do us a favour." He responded lightheartedly nudging his ego. It would not do him a favour.
"Oh, my family's ordering pizza by the way. I got you barbecue chicken." Anthony explained as he grabbed his phone to check how late it was. His eyes widened when the clock said 8 PM, that was really late actually. Normally friends went home at around 7 on a school night so he had his alone time. But, he didn't really mind Ethan.
Ethan his eyes widened, "That's my favourite!" He exclaimed before his mind could register his outbreak. "How'd you know?" The boy asked in shock.
I like listening to you even though it's not to me. "Oh, lucky guess. I don't think I've met a person who doesn't like barbecue chicken." Anthony's lies forged through his teeth with ease. It was almost un-perceivable that he was lying to anyone except his dad. Somehow Daniel always knew when he was lying, apparently his ears turn pink when he lies but Anthony was pretty sure his ears turned pink pretty easy.
Ethan nodded, quickly believing the lie. He checked his phone realising he should really call his mom to let her know where he was. "Oh, wait I've gotta call my mom-" Anthony quickly grabbed his hand before he could stand up, gently pushing him back down.
"U-umh, I heard my dad calling her like ten minutes ago already." Anthony sheepishly spoke, his face visibly turning red at the skin contact. Ethan stared at bit at their hands, maybe a few seconds before he gathered the courage to look back in Anthony's eyes.
It felt as if the world had been waiting for their two worlds to collapse on each other, depending on one another as if it had been the only reason they had ever stepped foot on this planet. Anthony felt a growing ache in his lower stomach, swirling into a pit of heat every time Ethan breathed his direction. Anthony couldn't understand the grip Ethan had on him, impaling his heart with his hands as if the heart were his. Maybe it was his, Anthony wouldn't mind actually.
Ethan felt his cheeks turn red, had Erin been right? Was Anthony LaRusso actually gay?
He tried to ignore the obvious warmth spreading over his entire body as reaction to a small touch. It was as if his heart had finally found what it had been longing for, star crossed lovers that may have finally found a universe where their hearts could long for another in peace.
"Oh- oh yeah, thanks." Ethan weakly murmured, trying to ignore the heartbeat pumping into his ears. Anthony snapped out of his daze, not even realising how intently his eyes had been fixated on Ethan his lips. "Y-yeah, no problem." He replied quickly.
