WORD COUNT | 1799
Bakugou was pissed, beyond pissed even.
No matter how hard he tried, his thoughts kept returning back to the utterly timid omega like a record on repeat. The way his jade locks bounced when he walked, his smile that shone even brighter than the sun, and his eyes, oh god, his eyes are like are the miniscule emeralds that one has to dig through a thousand treasure boxes to find. Bakugou was entranced, whether he willed it so or not.
Sitting upon his empty room after his return from the horrendous meeting, he tapped his foot aggressively. The absence of the scent of pure vanilla and strawberry ticked the blond off to no end. It was almost ridiculous how much of an effect young Midoriya had on the impulsive prince. He decided he needed something to take his mind off of the issue at hand.
Heading towards the castle's training grounds with a thundering anger in his steps, servants dared not to even peer his way in fear of any backlash. He emitted a vengeful aura, his dirtied boots hitting the marbled flooring of the palace mercilessly as he walked. Ever since he was young, the only way to calm his rage was through physical exertion and it hasn't changed even into his adult years. Some called him immature due to his inability to control his emotions without fighting but others credit it as to why he became such an indispensable commander.
Pushing a set double doors open, the prince could already feel the fresh air of the outdoors hit him before the moonlit sky can cast it's shadows upon his caped figure. Almost immediately, the distinctive sound of metal clashing against metal filled his ears causing the hairs on his body to rise due to habitual excitement. It was no doubt the sound of sparring. As he walked a few steps further, he identified the soldier who was in a duel without hesitation - after all he himself has sparred against said soldier many times.
The blond found his lips tugging into a smirk upon seeing the crimson red hair being exposed as the soldier finished his duel and lifted his helmet. He watched in silence as the soldier shook hands with his sparring partner as a sign of good sport, the two of them sharing a light chuckle before he noticed the presence of the prince behind him.
"Bakubro! What brings you here?" He smiled towards the prince in an uttermost friendly manner, completely unfazed by the deadly aura the blond was emitting. He was one of the few people who explosive blond could actually tolerate.
"To beat the shit out of you." The blond replied, already heading towards the nearby weaponry room to retrieve his gear. His hands itched to put on his amour once again, it's been a while since he last used it. Everything fit him perfectly, it was to be expected, after all his amour was unsurprisingly customised as the prince. His breastplate and gauntlet fit snugly and it reminded the blond just how much he missed the adrenaline from clashing sword against sword.
Walking out the room with renewed vigour, he met the red haired boy head on as he lifted his sword slightly, indicating the start of the duel. Several other soldiers that were busy training stopped as soon as they noticed the gold marked amour as murmurs soon began to spread throughout. Before the two had even started, a crowd had already began to form around the two reputable figures.
One being the reliable and trustworthy leader, meanwhile the other was the mysterious and unidentified prince.
Despite garnering such a large crowd for his first public spar, Bakugou felt not even the tiniest pressure, in fact, the blond fed off it. Several chants were heard as the soldiers began to take sides, some supporting the amiable soldier whom they knew whilst others patriotically supported the rumoured prince.
It was a breath hitching atmosphere and it was only the beginning. As soon as the bell was rung indicating the start, the two friendly rivals lunged at each other with great speed, making sure their opponent had no time to relax. The sound of blade scraping against blade sent shivers down every spectator's spine eliciting hollers and cheers.
Sweat formed steadily upon Bakugou's forehead behind his helmet, although he has sparred against the red haired male since childhood, this time somehow felt different. The thrill of a crowd present no doubt changed his sparring experience. It was almost as if he were in the last stage of a tournament. Excitement spread throughout his body from the tips of his hair down to his toes, he was in a state of pure concentration.
Although many took the blond to be brawn and physical, Bakugou in fact finds the tactical part of a battle much more interesting. To outwit is to outplay. Analysing his opponent carefully, he noticed a particular move being made in which his rival swings from up then sideways as if aiming for a slice across his chest. The blond smirked under his helmet as he awaited for his opponent to repeat the same move.
Fightingly defensively was not usually the impulsive prince's style causing the ruby haired male to begin his suspicions. However it was soon pushed away with the thought of the prince being possibly intimated as this was his first public battle as well as first spar in a long while.
Thinking he could finish with his signature new move the red head slashed his sword upwards then sharply angled it sideways in order to catch the blond off guard only to be blindsided by his childhood friend. Within what seemed to be mere seconds, the blond had ducked under his sword as he held his blade against the amour of his throat, signalling the end of the duel.
Almost immediately, a roar of cheers sounded from the crowd that circled them as several watchers fist bumped the air whilst others chanted victory slogans. It was an exhilarating moment for the blond as he took his helmet off and gave his friend a good sported handshake.
"A little predictable but nice try shitty hair." The prince smirked with an obvious joke to his tone.
"And here I thought you'd be at least a bit shittier since the last time I saw you." Kirishima replied, an ecstatic grin glued to his features, the invigorating energy from sparring Bakugou never disappoints.
"Touché." The blond uttered before heading towards the weaponry room to unarm himself, the crowd parting like the Red Sea as he walked through. The cheerful red haired male followed behind, shooing the crowd away to focus on their own personal training.
The blond had noticed his childhood friend was eyeing him rather suspiciously before he decided to cut the silence himself. "What you lookin at hedgehog hair?" He spat out without even looking at the red head, too focused on putting away his equipment.
"There's something on your mind isn't there?" Kirishima jabbed back as the question hung heavy in the air.
"I'm not allowed to fucking spar now am I?" With each exchange of words, the blond was getting more and more agitated, he needn't be reminded of the incidents that occurred earlier today.
The red head hastily placed his sword upon the clip on the wall before focusing his sole attention on the prince before him. Despite being of royal blood, the blond spoke normally towards his friend and felt no superiority.
"You usually tell me before hand for a private spar but for you to show up suddenly..." The amiable male's lips pursed into a mischievous smile before finishing his sentence, "does it have something to do with a certain servant?"
"Piss off." Was the only response the blond could think of, he had too much on his mind right now.
"That's it, we're gonna go see him" The red head replied cheekily before slinging his arm round the blond's neck in a friendly manner.
"What makes you think I'm going to go along with your stupid plans?" The blond asked, clearly ticked off at his childhood friend trying to meddle in his affairs.
"Because I know you. And I know you want to see him too." Kirishima now has the brash prince around a headlock as the two made their way towards the omegan servant's room.
As they travelled further into the common areas of the palace Bakugou began to observe his surroundings. Being very sheltered since he was of young age, he was not exposed to majority of the palace exempt the royal quarters causing him to be curious of just what consisted of the rest of the palace.
After walking down several smaller and tighter corridors which were dimly lit. The red head stopped behind a rather fragile looking wooden door, much like many of the ones they walked past earlier.
"Iida told me it should be this one..." the redhead muttered to himself before knocking twice. The blond had now stood quite a few meters behind his friends, he wasn't sure if he was prepared to see the timid omega again.
The door opened on cue as the petit frame of Uraraka met with the two visitors outside her door.
"Hi I'm Kirishima, Iida's friend, and this is..." the redhead looked behind him to see his friend standing quite a distance away before dragging him back so they stood side by side.
At once, the hazel pupils of Uraraka immediately recognised the prince's signature blond and spilt hair as she spoke up, "Ah! Bakugou-sama! If you're here to look for Izu, don't worry he's already on his way!"
The two blinked owlishly at the chocolate haired girl before the blond asked a slightly confused, "What?"
"Izu, -I mean Izuku, received your letter earlier asking him to head towards your room. He's probably arrived by now." Uraraka continued to explain innocently, completely unaware of the situation that was brewing at hand.
By this time the clogs inside of the blond's mind were whirring as it clicked in place in realisation. "And what room did the note say it was?" The prince asked already clenching his fists in rage.
The bubbly girl replied with a slight fear after hearing the anger already seeping from the prince's voice, "Um if I remember correctly, it was room #3, left wing of the royal quarters-"
"That half and half piece of shit." The impulsive blond seethed out as pure venom dropped from his voice, before sprinting across the corridors they had previously walked down towards said location.
"Wha- wait!" Was all the red head could say before following after his impetuous friend and a quick wave of goodbye towards the very confused Uraraka.
As the blond sprinted through the enormous castle hastily, yelling obscenities at servants who got in the way, there was only one single thought lingering on his mind:
I'm going to kill that motherfucker.
