There's actually a lot of news to catch up on, but I'll start with the big news that I'm sure many of you have heard of by now.....

1. RELEASE DATE AND TRAILER!!

Yesterday, August 18th, was Percy's birthday. I was expecting some sort of update, maybe a release date, but definitely not both. And a full trailer????! The trailer was released in the morning from the official Percy series account, with the release date included in it.

I was shaking for a full 20 minutes just rewatching it lol😭

-The release date is December 20, 2023. THAT'S THIS YEAR!!!! I was unsure if it would be delayed to late 2024 because of the strike, but apparently not. MARK YOUR CALENDARS, EVERYONE!!

-As you may recall, a teaser trailer did release a several months ago, but this is SUPER exciting, and this is the full trailer!! I'm sobbing😭I didn't think this day would come

-In the trailer, Sally narrates as we get shots of the trio together, Percy facing Ares, Grover with his goat legs, Annabeth with her dagger. We also get to see some capture the flag, the elevator ride up to Olympus, what is possibly the Poseidon cabin, Thalia's tree!

-The same as last year, the Empire State Building lit up blue in honor of Percy's birthday<3

-The first two episodes will premiere together on the 20th, and then I assume the rest will be one by one, weekly.

-Still waiting on a blog update from Rick about this, but I'm sure he's got his hands full! Can't wait to hear from him:)

-Someone on Instagram (or maybe it was Threads? I can't keep track of the social media platforms lol) commented that the release date, 12/20, was actually the day Luke stole the Master Bolt-- The day before winter solstice!

2. The strike continues

The SAG-AFTRA strike continues, which for those who don't know, is a strike by writers in the film industry for higher pay. Actors and writers are on strike right now, and one of the companies effected is Disney-- meaning Percy Jackson as well. I don't know much on the topic, so I will leave the official website here if you want to learn more -->

-The actors and of course, Rick, have all shown solidarity with strikers, and several members of the cast have posted on their Instagram stories about it.

-The strike has been ongoing for several months, and it does stop things like working on projects or promotional events, leading to the next piece of news....

3. PROMOTION MERCH?? (+Comic Con)

Percy Jackson was scheduled to be at Comic Con this year, which is a convention held annually in San Diego, California. Since cast and crew are unable to participate in promotional events, none of them were there. Plus, I fully support all writers and actors striking.

-HOWEVER, there weeeere some sneak peaks of posters being sold there! I wasn't able to go, but they looked AMAZING. They were printed on bags

-Camp-Half Blood shirts like the ones we saw in the teaser trailer last year were also being sold

-Postcards with the character posters I mention below were there too!!!

-Aside from Comic Con, there were also character posters shared online of the trio!! They are perfect, the costumes are perfect, it was super exciting to be able to see that💙✨

-Remember those special edition books I talked about last post? It's been a while lol. If not, they have special edition covers for both Camp Half-Blood Confidential and The Lightning Thief, along with previews of the tv show in the form of 8 photos in the back of the book. (Correct me if I'm wrong on this part, I'm not 100% sure)

Hey guys, I'm so sorry that this book went on a sort of hiatus without warning. I meant to post much sooner and I never intended to stop updating for so long, and I realize many of you used this for your updates. 

I also understand that a lot of my readers have left Wattpad or stopped following me, but thank you to those of you who are here💙 I have so much fun writing these and talking with every one of you:)

However, I do kind of feel like I owe some of you an explanation.

Post-production for the tv show has been slow, and updates have been much smaller, with casting complete and the strike preventing season 2 work. I still usually would have posted these small, exciting tweets from Becky or others, but I've been pretty busy (let's be real, mostly anxious).

I last updated this in February, so it's been wayy longer than I intended. I had a lot of stuff to deal with at school lol-- stressful projects, embarrassing performances, traumatic school trips. When the summer started, I had weeks of camp and traveling and summer homework. 

Now, HAPPY BIRTHDAY PERCY JACKSON!! This also feels like somewhat if a birthday for the fandom, so I wish you all a little bit of joy in the next few days <3 I baked blue cookies and my sister made blue lemonade yesterday in honor

My school year is about to start up again this coming week-- When does school start for you guys?
